Had a fun birthday. Had some alligator tail for dinner, overall was pretty good for a place I hadn't been to before. Will start getting back into the groove of things soon.

Hi. If you've wound up here, you're probably wondering who I am.
You can call me Kuro, although some of you might better recognize me by one of the several other names that I have used in the past throughout the 11-ish years that I have spent on this forum. I'm a middle-twenties retail manager that is still trying to relive the glory days of their roleplay career while balancing a full-time job with an unsatiable need for overtime.
I tend to be open to most ideas when it comes to roleplay itself, be it whatever genre, group size, system, etc. That being said, I often gravitate to anything that falls in the following categories: anime, fantasy, slice of life, superhero or survival horror. If you believe that you have an idea that I might be interested in, feel free to shoot me a link; I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. Sometimes I forget to check my messages, so don't feel bad about pestering me again if I missed it.
I also have a discord server laying around. If we're cool, then I might be willing to a toss an invite your way.
@Tyler Night was talking about Dragon Cave not that long ago in this same section. Might be worth it to swing by and message them if they want to chat.

It hasn't been long since Haleigh had been drug through the figurative mud over and over. She'd been buried alive, then nearly buried alive again and almost executed in the streets of her hometown simply for being an "empowered witch". She's tired, boss, and is exhausted by the trauma that has been inflicted upon her. Haleigh desires a return to normality even though such things have long passed, so getting through each day and the craziness it now brings is an answered prayer and/or blessing. G O A L S ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Haleigh's immediate goal is to find a way to walk again.
Although she can still technically walk, Haleigh has been handicapped by her hyperhuman ability ever since it came to light. She feels trapped by it, as if it made her into a totally different person. Not only does Haleigh despise the fact she can no longer do things she used to do, she is also stressed out by the potential pressure of being indirectly responsible for death and/or destruction. She longs for the days that had a sense of "normality" to them—when she wasn't capable of bringing down an entire neighborhood or worse by accident. -

She had gone missing like Haleigh had, but was never found despite the police's best efforts. Her father has attempted to keep this information hidden from Haleigh, and now wonders if his dear wife could've possibly been connected to his daughter developing hyperhuman powers of her own. -

As far back as she can possibly remember, Haleigh grew up in a single-parent household in the Canadian city of Vancouver, BC. Her mother had passed away when she was young, leaving Haleigh primarily in the care of her father, a law enforcement officer working under the province's RCMP taskforce.
Between his job and the duties of a single parent, Haleigh's father rarely had free time for his daughter. What time he did have was spent dragging Haleigh along on nature hikes and camping trips, being things he had experience and hoped to inspire a love for to his daughter much like his own father had done before him. Unlike most kids who would probably whine and complain through the whole experience, Haleigh instead took a likening to the great outdoors, finding joy in their family adventures in the Canadian wilderness.
Such interest was carried well into Haleigh's teenager years and adulthood, where she found work working odd jobs related to i; trail tour guide, outdoors blogger, etc. Little did Haleigh know, however, that these exact interests would be, as she had put it, her "undoing" and "downfall", indirectly leading to her hyperhuman development.
It happened on one fine Canadian summer day. Haleigh had been out hiking, confident in her own abilities to venture out alone. Yet the further she travelled, the more uncomfortable Haleigh felt; that something was amiss. The very ground seemed unstable, and before she could properly react in time, the land suddenly gave way beneath her.
Haleigh had been buried under a large pile of rubble, trapped in a small pocket and unable to get out. Had it not been for a cellphone tower pinging her phone prior to the incident, she would've likely died there, too.
The next few weeks of her life were spent in the hospital, recovering from her injuries and the shock of the event. She swore it had to been a freak accident, but when her doctors scheduled her to undergo rehab, she knew something was terribly wrong. Her hyperhuman ability came to life once more with the first steps she took, wiping out the section of the hospital she was staying in in a flurry of rubble and debris.
News channels rushed to cover the incident, interviewing some of the survivors. It was there where Haleigh was first outed as a Hyperhuman; her rehab nurse pinpointing the blame on her. The public quickly became furious, eager to start a witch hunt despite her father's attempts to convince not to "burn his daughter at the stake". Although his pleas ultimately fell on deaf ears, he'd find help in another way—through "H.E.L.P.".
With Haleigh's close proximity to the P.R.C.U., H.E.L.P. quickly swopped in to handle the incident, giving her an "out" that ensured her safety before she was strung up by rope in the streets of Vancouver.

Haleigh's hyperhuman ability is called Seismokinesis, or in layman's terms the concept of seismic wave generation. Activated by her own movement, every step Haleigh takes has the potential to unleash a devastating tremor within the earth much akin to the effects of an earthquake (albeit much smaller and centralized).
L I M I T A T I O N S || A R E A O F E F F E C T
The waves that are generated by Seismokinesis can not be directed to a certain location by Haleigh; they wrap around her in a circle as if she is the "epicenter". Once these seismic waves have traveled some feet from Haleigh, they will then begin to weaken in strength and eventually dissipate, therefore limiting the potential range and area of effect of her ability's destructive nature.
W E A K N E S S E S || M O V E M E N T
As Haleigh's ability activates with each step, her power is completely nullified simply by keeping her off her feet. Mobility-assisting devices such as wheelchairs currently remain Haleigh's only option if she wants to move about without accidentally unleashing her ability.

"...That day. In the mountains."
What happened that day is something Haleigh doesn't like to talk about even to people closest to her. Haleigh often finds herself circling back to the event, being the place where she initially discovered her hyperhuman power and had been trapped for some time by an ability-caused cave-in. It irrevocably changed her for the worst, leading to a fear of tight, claustrophobic spaces, but more importantly the fear and disgust that she was a "freak" (in her own terms).

"Are these questions purposely vague?"
Haleigh isn't one to turn down someone's request for help, and she'd likely try to help if it such things were within her reach. That said, Haleigh isn't a natural "do-gooder", being prone to waiting for someone to reach out first before she initiates any assistance of her own. Some people who look like they need help may not actually need it or just don't want help in the first place. It's better to stay in your own lane, she feels.
In this particular scenario, however, Haleigh would prefer to have more information on what "help" is in this context before trying to assist. You can't exactly help someone if you don't know how to help them or what they need help for.

"Do I look like I have the money for campus repairs?"
Should the alarm be sounded, Haleigh would likely freeze up in response and unable to properly react in a timely fashion. Not so much because of the intruders themselves, but more so due to how her hyperhuman ability functions. Given her ability is capable of severe property damage, she'd be fearful of bringing the campus down on itself, be it by seeking shelter or having to fend off the potential intruder(s) herself, and having people get hurt by her actions. Of course, this can be circumvented by close access to a wheelchair or similar mobility assistance, but what if those aren't nearby? She dreads to find out.

The only time I've ever broken a boke is when I broke my wrist playing Wii Bowling. I ended up tripping over my dog and landing on the fireplace. It's also how we found out I'm allergic to Fentanyl. Fun times.
I still have yet to break a bone despite my history of wiping the fuck out all the time. There was so many incidents where I crashed and burned during my childhood I'm surprised I didn't break one. I used to gash the hell out of myself being stupid or by pure accident (going too fast on the merry-go-round at the park and crashing into the dirt, racing my friends down a lengthy strip of concrete on the last day of school only to trip and fall, etc.). But nope; no broken bones for me.
Thankfully, it's been awhile since I've had an accident of that kind.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it before, and if it's already a feature someone please point me to it. But being able to change our theme colour (even a basic 'light mode' would be amazing. I have trouble reading white on darkgrey/black a lot of the time, so being able to go light mode would be an amazing help :)
Not a feature ATM but you could probably find some browser plug-ins/addons that change site themes to light mode. Although on RPG I use the default colors, elsewhere I use Dark Reader to customize a site for dark mode. I know it's the opposite of what you're asking for, but it does have a built-in light mode as well with customization features that you could potentially adjust for lighter colors. That being said, depending on the site it can affect text and/or color, so what others see might not be what you're seeing. I know on RPG it will change the text at least, like the yellowish color we have for RPG.
