⚘ A Brief History
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I've been at this a long time and when I say a long time I mean a long long damn time. I started out with table top, ADnD, back in the 80's, then dived into others: Nightlife, Mage the Ascension, Shadow Run, HoL, etc. Moved onto Online in the 90's. I've been running various incarnations of a single RP group for twenty years now. Worked helping setting up, building, and/or admining/modding various RP forums over the years: Adventure Quest, Priston Tales, War Gods, etc. It's been a long road filled with ups and downs. I'm an evil GM, you've been warned.

Outside of RP, I am a mom. Yup, I've reproduced and there are little Lady A's running around plotting their own take over of the world. I am a published author and once upon a time an award winning poet. I've done a lot in my life. I haven't done as much as I would like. I've grown a lot. I have a lot more growing to do. I love to cook, baker by trade currently. I went to university and majored in Mathematics. I've programmed websites, worked as a model, worked as a 3d modeler. Shit, I even used to dance. And have been known to sing a bit. Jack of all trades. Master of like 3, lol.

⚘ Looking Inside
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is where I go into my personality. In the past I would normally make some self deprecating remark about how I am a bitch of a GM, pushing my rpers as hard as I push myself and so forth. Not anymore. People change, or perhaps they just come into their own. This can happen at any age. More than that it can happen several times over the course of your life as you discover and rediscover yourself. Everything happens for a reason, usually that reason is ones owns actions. Or inaction's. Right now, I am in a better place than I can remember being in the longest time. I am happy and at peace. I have no regrets. Maybe I should but I don't. I plan on keeping this peace I have found, I went far too long without it.

Currently I am enjoying several things. Some are things I have enjoyed most of my life: Coffee, chocolate, bacon, M*A*S*H. One isn't something I have enjoyed since I was seventeen: being clean and free of poisons in my system. It is beyond description and I love it: One-hundred and twenty days and counting. Music taste is shifting to more mood oriented than anything, strange I am finding a lot of newer Country I am enjoying and I have NEVER liked country. Watching things like Lark Rise to Candleford and being hooked to the point of reading the trilogy. Recently added yoga to my workouts and all I can say is, "Fuckmaste: the fucked up in me accepts the fucked up in you."

Oh zombie Rp's are out there and well in demand. I have one that has been going for years. As others have said, as far as an interest check goes, with most any Rp on this forum you will need to give people a rather well fleshed out idea, even in the casual section. General interest in a type isn't going to get you a lot of feed back unless you get lucky really. Even if it is a great idea, most will wait and see if you, as the GM, would put in the more long term effort of putting together a full interest check. Again, this isn't just for the advanced section but for casual and even Free. They want something to sink their teeth into.

While not always true the old saying - The more you give the more you get - is rather true around here. I will spend a good four to six months getting ideas fleshed out and an interest check for casual. Up to a year for the advanced section. (Granted, I go way over board on nearly every aspect of RP so I am not a perfect example but an example none the less.)

Give the Rpers something fleshed out with some details and then start a new check. You may have a bit more luck. Though that isn't always granted, sometimes it just doesn't hook people the first few times. I hadn't looked at your check until now but yeah, what BrokenPromise says holds true - there really isn't anything there. On top of that, your post count is so low with such an extended amount of time on the forum, that could factor in. Not that having a low post count should matter but reputation does play a part in some Rpers willingness to reply to an interest check. The lack of meat to the IC and the low post count is like a double whammy for some and they will just move on.

If you aren't wanting to start a true IC until after you get a few tugs on the line, you might want to post in the general interest check section just to see if you can get some interest in the topic.

Titian waited, and waited. This man seemed like he was finding this funny and it was apparent that Professor Walnut was about to school him in manners if the man didn't answer. "I'd listen to her," he said with a slight chuckle. Teachers did love giving punishment. At least, if she was a teacher, but even if she wasn't she probably still enjoyed to dish out a little bit of punishment. Even if it was just a time out chair. He chuckled at the thought but the chuckle was cut short. Thing was though, even though that little laugh of his was cut short, it wasn't cut short in a good way.

Well, then again that could be in the eye of the beholder, much like beauty. Because as the man in the room finally answered, if only by opening his mouth and showing he only had a stub left Titian didn't back peddle. Oh no, he hit the gas and went head first into it. "Hey, cat did get his tongue! No, wait, unless that cat is swinging a sword and has some great moves. Puurrrfect moves," he said as he laughed. Not a small laugh either, a huge bellowing one as he doubled over. Then the bell rang. "Was that the dinner bell? I wonder if tongue's on the menu. Oh I know, stop it before I get a good lashing."

This room was getting a lot more movement now but the simple fact of the matter remained, the four men that were requesting her to join them had not left and kept looking over to her. She barely nodded towards Justice Cobalt as he moved past her and left the room back through the original door they had entered through. Thing was, there was a much closer exit to the room and as Dr. Swamp asked her a question about her own direction she cast a glance his way. "Not that way," she said as her eyes moved towards the main door that lead back to the Joyous Corridor. Her voice was rather terse as she spoke and quick.

Nearly as quick as her heels were when she turned on them and decided to take the road not yet traveled. A satchel of sheet music in one arm, an instrument case in the other hand, and for such short legs she moved quickly and nimbly into the dark room of unknown use. It wasn't until she took several steps into the room that she stopped and looked around. It was dark in there, no light in the room itself and yet, she could see. The window from other rooms made looking about easy. As one has no problem looking from the streets at night into a house whose lights are on and the curtains are pulled back. She was standing in a garden and to her, it was lovely.

Deeper Than The Sands

Reminders: Same reminders but hey, we all forget shit - If you are changing decks at anytime while we are on the boat - roll in chat before you post. If you roll a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 - drop me a line because your ticket is missing. If you roll a 6 though 20, you have your ticket and can proceed without issue.

Same goes with leaving and returning to your characters room. If you enter your room, drop a roll in chat. 1, 2, or 3 drop me a line before posting. If you roll a 4-20 everything is fine and you can proceed without issue.

Please remember to do this every time you change decks and every time you enter your rooms.

Also remember - If you are Elite you can do to any deck. If you are Secondary you can go anywhere but Elite unless you are on record as working for someone with an Elite ticket. If you are Lower Deck, you can only enter Lower or Main deck.

It's Getting Late: Overlooking the waters the woman had a pull at the corner of her mouth. Almost as if a smile would have formed if she would allow it. Resting each hand on the rail of the deck her long red nails curled over it and tapped gently. "Yet, even what you would peal back is only what she wishes to show you, the rest is lost to time and wear, as with people too," she commented coolly before turning her head to look at the man. "It is getting late, I should seek out my traveling companion. Excuse me Sir," she said before brushing past him. She moved slowly in her movements but her body seemed to move quickly without effort as she moved towards the main area of the ship.

Franklin eyed the man and shrugged a bit. "Not as much as you would like it seems. Knowing that is. Otherwise there wouldn't be questions," he countered as he leaned back in his chair and pulled out a cigar case. Opening it up there were several in it and he offered one to Richard before taking one for himself. "Though it is a bit of distance to travel, not near as much as America I would wager." Had Richard mentioned he was from America or was it the mans accent? Or both. Who could tell anymore. "So let me ask you something. Are you traveling alone? Or is there someone with you, that doesn't mind you setting yourself on fire. I will admit, it keeps things interesting but your laundry bill has to be hell," he chuckled before biting the tip of the cigar off and lighting it. Taking several quick pulls from it until it smoked and then inhaling deeply. Holding it in and then letting it blow out slowly.

The dining area Mosi had wandered into was not empty but it was was far from full. There were only a handful of servants and one or two guests milling about the place. None that would seem overly interesting on first glance. Seemed the guests were just not wanting to turn in yet and the workers looked as if they wanted them to go ahead and turn in so they wouldn't have to deal wit them anymore. The tables had been cleaned up and new linens were being set out. Seemed they were getting out as much as they could before breakfast come morning. More they do now, perhaps, the less they have to do later.

Vera was very grateful that Lauren didn't have a problem with taking her things to her room for her. And she was right there were hippos in the waters. Those would be very deadly indeed. Thank you ever so much Lauren," she said making sure to vocalize her gratitude. "Hopefully I shant be long," she added. Laurens room seemed in order. Nothing was tossed as Vera's had been but there was an odd smell in the room. It wasn't obvious at first but as one moved around the cabin it became more evident. It wasn't a bad smell but it was there. Like burnt wood almost. It was hard to put it into words but it was familiar.

The man looked over towards the Lord Major and his brow went up slightly. "Oh dear," he said in a thick Arabic accent but he seemed to understand completely what the man was saying. "Please, come with me sir, we will report this to the ships captain at once," he said motioning for the Lord Major to follow him. Whatever security they came across to change levels at stairs or places they needed to get through the man was waved through and made mention that the Lord Major was with him. Once they reached the bridge the man knocked and waited for a call to enter. Slowly opening the door he glanced back at the Lord Major before pointing to the obvious captain of the ship. The man was older with a thick white beard and dark ruddy skin, dressed formally with a white cap on his head. "Yes? Is there a problem?" he asked as he pulled the pipe from his lips.

The Lady Munn kept quiet as Nora and Gene seemed to exchange a few words before looking over towards Gene and nodded. "That they are," she agreed before leaving her quarters after the rest had exited and closing the door. She locked it, out of sheer habit but the thought crossed her ind that it was a bit late to do that. All she was doing now was securing a crime scene they had already messed up. Glancing around she wasn't exactly sure which way to go. "Do you know the way?" she asked, thinking it was better for Gene to take lead on this as she seemed more at home in general society than she was. It wasn't the first time Vera was on a ship but it was the first time she had ever sought out anyone to report a crime of this matter. Even at the museum she had only had to alert the people who worked there and they took care of the rest.

Over in Mosi's room things seemed in order. There was a small window in the room, a portal that was open and the smell of salt water could be smelt in the air. The boat was rocking gently as it tugged up the Nile and the moonlight was shining a tad brightly in the room. There was a splash that one could hear in the water below.

O'Hare International Airport: Lincoln sighed as he slipped the phone back into his pocket. "About Tasha's funeral and such. I called him soon as I found out," Lincoln said slowly. "He took it as well as could be expected. Said he could let his sister know what was up since she is out here working for some damn security company now. Knife, dagger? I dunno, something blade like in the title. Anywho, was just letting me know he got a flight and would be here tonight from Boston," he added before picking up his drink and taking a long sip of it.

Putting the bottle down he glanced over towards the door of the place where the main part of the airport was and spotted Gavin and Roy standing just outside talking to each other. They both seemed out of place with each other but seemed to be waiting now for them. Yet it was clear they were giving the two the time they needed instead of just coming in and interrupting them. "Listen, I'm gonna get going, have a lot to take care of," he said as he pulled out some cash and left it on the table.

Grimaldi Books: Adelaide nodded towards them and waited for them to leave before saying anything. "Yeah, it doesn't sit right with me. As far as Wentworth goes, if whoever stole my book got through their system I know things went bad. I've known the Wentworth family since college. Went to university with the mans son. Why I signed with them," she said as she started back up the stairs. Then she stopped and went back to the vault door. "But if they aren't going to pay me to look, then I'm just gonna look myself. I don't have to share anything," she said as she did the scans needed to enter. "Come on, just don't touch anything," she added before swinging the heavy door open. Inside it looked like an old library encased in glass, various books pulled on display or on tables but the majority of her rather vast collection was behind walls that controlled the environment around them.

Outside Claire came out of a place a few doors down carrying a couple large bags of food and one to go plate in her hand. As she was shoveling food in her mouth she looked over and caught a glimpse of the men talking. A slight grin she headed over to them, quickening her pace and held her elbows up. "Food!" she chuckled. "Didn't know what to get so just got a crap ton of entrees," she said as she swallowed. Handing over a bag to each of them the MSG was heavy in the air, Chinese. "Oh boss, any chance I could get off this evening? You see my brother called and apparently a bud of ours died. His best mate. Good chick, hell of a right hook. Anywho, her fiance is flying out from Cali to pick up her body and bro was wondering if I could pick him up from the airport tonight. Shouldn't take long but bro needs a sister to make him laugh ya know, needs it right now losing Tasha and all that," she rambled off without even thinking. "Oh fuck, sorry, probably too much info."

Phone rang and Claire picked it up quickly. "Yo, yeah. Okay, wait a second, wait a second God damn it Murph hold it!" she yelled into the phone before pulling out a pen and paper from her back pocket. "Uh huh, 3254 from Boston, tonight at 8. Right. What? Lincolns already in town? Fucker didn't tell me. Yeah, yeah. Hold the fuck on," she said before looking over towards Caesar. "Don't know yet. I'll fucking text you. Well if you have to get a cab to the Brinne house then fucking get one. I'll fucking text you. Yeah, fuck you to," she said before hanging up.

Grimm, Indiana - Ramada Inn: The hallway was quiet. Inside the room was two standard full beds, a small dresser between them and a large dresser against the wall across from the beds with a TV on top of it and a remote for the TV next to the electronic. Over by the curtained window was a small table and two chairs. Nothing big but it would do. On the night stand between the beds was a phone, a box of tissues, a note pad and a pen. In the drawer was a Giddeon Bible. There was a lamp on the wall between the beds, by the TV and in the corner. A small bathroom was off to one side - nothing usual there. Just some small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and mouthwash.

The windows and curtain were closed and the room was hot. Apparently they hadn't turned on the wall AC unit since the room was not taken as of yet and they had just checked in. Simple dials to get the thing turned on, hot/cold - High/Low. There was a luggage stand across from the bathroom and a small closet with a laundry bag, iron, and some hangers one couldn't remove from the bar. On the back of the door was a map of the hotel, where the exits were, and a "you are here" red marker on the plastic cover. Yeah, your typical mid cost hotel room. Oh well, at least there were bed. Question though, how long since they had changed the sheets or if you looked at the room through a black light - would it look like a Jackson Pollock painting?
@DocRock Never mind someone bringing in a character they have used before as long as it fits the RP. Though I have found that surprisingly that most characters can fit with minor modifications. (I have seen 2nd Edition ADnd Bards and Warriors be revamped well enough to use in modern day settings and even TWD.) - Glad the general CS templates I provided are getting some use. Sadly the Firefly RP completed some time ago, though another will start up eventually. Right now though I have 6 I am Gming with a 7th in the works, so the next installment of that is on the back burner. (But funny enough many of the Rpers in that one are planning on using their characters from that into the upcoming one lol.)
It is actually a rather common thing in my Rps. Many of the rpers in them have characters they have played in the past and continued their story line into one of my Rps or even to another of mine once it finishes. We have a good dozen that have been in at least 2 rps, some that have been in 3. A couple that have hit their 2nd RP and even one that is on their 5th in a row to just to continue the story line.

I actually have 1 rp that is devoted to a characters "second chance" after death so that whole cast is nothing but a continuation in a new light. It can get rather complex as people have broadened out to other Rps outside of mine and we have done cross Gm tie in to other whole story lines. It has created a very wonderful dynamic in the over all group to have so many tie in's, back story's, people their characters can meet that know of other characters, even family lines that cover hundreds of years and dozens of RP's. Some even break off to 1x1 privately to build up back story during a time jump or down time in an RP.

It might not be a common practice but it is out there and thriving.

Margarete glanced up the stairs and then down them again waiting for the woman to catch up with her. As she spotted her coming around the corner of the lower stair case she relaxed a bit and nodded towards her. "It seems that the invitation to have a room this evening for you then should be a well welcome release from the current situation," she said before motioning towards the stairs that lead further up into the manor itself. "We have a couple of flights to go up, will you be okay in that attire to ascend?" she asked and glanced the woman over once again.

The man in the Gun Room quirked a brow towards the woman and there was a slight grin that formed on his lips, he didn't answer. At least not verbally. He did however shrug a bit to Professor Walnuts question. As Titian spoke again the man nearly laughed but didn't. At least, once again, not verbally. His shoulders moved up and down as if he was laughing but there was no sound. Then he opened his mouth and showed what was within - nothing. Well there was the mouth and teeth but there was no tongue there. It seemed that something had got his tongue - though what little nub was there was clean cut so chances were, it wasn't a cat. Unless it was a huge fucking cat.

Four men stood close together in the Gaming room, their eyes on the woman known as Amaranthine for a time but they would move to the others. Watching them and they seemed to exchange glances towards each other that must have said far more than what was on the surface. They didn't move from their spots though. At least not now. "We look forward to the performance," the blonde said to Cobalt before he left the room. Each of them giving him a nod but their eyes went back to Dr. Swamp and Amaranthine. They still hadn't moved and it seemed that they were waiting for the woman to answer the doctors question.

It seemed that the Libraries were the place to be. At least for two. Tact moved over to the Yellow Library and began to thumb through the various books. Envy stayed near the door and seemed to have been almost ready to say something to the man in the Red Library but closed their mouth when Rave came in. The other man in the Red Library looked at the woman and quirked a brow towards her. "Do not bring blood into this room," he said firmly but sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "The breakfast room should have linens one can use or you could find Jasper. He should be in the Grand Vestibule currently. Oliver, a young lad, is in the Central Hall if he hasn't left his post and he can fetch anything of need."

About that time the bell from earlier rang again and Jasper looked at those that were starting to gather in the Grand Vestibule. "True guests are arriving now, please begin to move towards the Ballroom," he said as he motioned to the back of the manor. It was clear he was more concerned with who was ringing the bell now than those that had already arrived.
