Technically while not limited to the GIF format is generally used for small animated images. The palette limitations of the GIF format make it less suited to rendering images with continuous color so small animations and simple images are most practical. This one is actually JPG not a GIF.

The fact that she even believes herself capable of eating people is enough of a disgust to have people wanting her carted off to a mental asylum.

But, in all seriousness, I do see the flaws in this now. Just removing it makes it feel a bit to much retconny, so why not have it like, a realistic delusion that she is eating people - one that she believes is happening, even when others around her can see that there is nothing there - instead of actually doing the do. That could give the whole, recovery thing without the disgust and murder of the actual deed.

Well in all seriousness not one of the main characters has actually become aware of Mokuren's cannibalism. The only points we actually see it in is that last post where she ate a rapist and a couple of previous ones where she thinks about her craving to eat flesh. Since it hasn't entered into the story proper it wouldn't be all that difficult to go back and edit it completely out of that last post and change it in the previous ones for some sort of lust for violence as opposed to flesh. It only really becomes retcon when you have to ask other people to edit out of there posts which at the moment isn't exactly a problem.

Another problem is that at the moment her cannibalism is a secret and while it is she doesn't see a problem with it. This would seem to suggest that she would only seek redemption after people found out which means she doesn't actually care about redemption but cares what people think of her

What I was trying to go for is that people help her when the find out. Currently, it's a secret that nobody knows about, and hasn't been brought up. So, to her twisted little mind, there is nothing wrong with it. It's meant to be a whole, character development thing that sounded cool at the time, but became one of them sub-plots that are never tied up by the end of the season....

Character development is cool and it's good to plan things in advance. The only problem is that your character not going to jail depends entirely on the reactions of other characters which you are completely unable to control. Maybe if Mokuren made some close friends they might want to help but she's not exactly social. At the moment the only logical reaction I can think of to anyone finding out about this is a call for arms to have her subdued followed by trial.

I don't think he'd be thrilled about having a cannibal on the staff period but it wouldn't even be considered if she wasn't trying to change. The fact that she is continually killing and eating people and doesn't seem to care about it in the least is what has me seriously worried about the future of the character.

I mean my character has a whole lot of issues but the worst that's going to happen to Sapphire if I play this all wrong is that she ends up friendless and alone. The worst that could happen to Mokuren is jail, or you know death depending on who is sent to apprehend her and how hard she fights back.

I don't think it's faunus specific but someone could end up that fucked up given the right circumstances. Only problem is when this eventually gets out, and it will eventually get out otherwise having it is completely useless as a story mechanic, I'm not really seeing anyway in which Beacon doesn't turn on Mokuren and she ends up in jail. Regular addiction that could make a good story element but I'm not really seeing anyone banding together to help her with her cannibilism problem. Plus I don't think it would exactly thrill Ozpin.
