Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

Despite its massive flaws, my RP, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, is still one of the longest ongoing RPs in RPGuild - It turns 4 years old in July and the current thread itself is more than a year old.

@Thecrash20 @BassDropp Yup, we still have 4 slots left.

@Letter Bee So, what would be the edits to your ability, again?

As for your question regarding electricity, its not similar to EMP. It just interferes with it. Jams signals, causes static, and the like. This is not applicable to electricity created via magic.

@Riffus Maximus I decided to continue accepting applications; I'm aiming for 20 before closing the RP off.

@Ayemdar Don't worry; you'll get the hang of it. The posts are gonna get relatively longer without you even trying.

Ah, well, Mikhail's ability is still smell-based, it's just that instead of 'crimes', per se, Mikhail senses when people are holding on to, or acting on, emotions people consider sinful.
@Scio, if you're here, a question: You said earlier that Magic shuts down electricity. Is it because Magic acts like an EMP, or is it because of something else? If the former, EMP Hardening is a thing.
Can someone direct me to where Igyo, Hatsudo, and the other type of magic are defined? I remember seeing it somewhere but I'm not sure.

Oh, those designations got scrapped and replaced with something else, back on the first page.
@Nanashi Ninanai, Wow, in that case, Alice would probably feel a lot of envy; good thing Mikhail turned off his ability.
Huh, I missed a lot of things while I'm asleep.

@Scio Aah, I see. Heh, welp, it'll be fun writing Alice's outburst when she learn about that fact later in that case.

@Letter Bee I don't know, so far I see his suspicion on Alice felt pretty natural. Though the parts before the edits does feel a bit too much, the one you have now seems fair, at least for me. He seems to be kind enough to keep his suspicions of Alice to get the better of his actions so far, but he's still understandably suspicious of her.

Idk, he seems to be kind enough to her already, especially after the edits.

Thanks; and, I tried to have Mikhail be less internally hostile to Alice in my latest post as him...but I don't know how effective that was, because that was also the post where he is trying to set Nico up with a girl he thinks is prettier than Alice.

Actually, I compared Annabelle and Alice's avatars; the former really does look prettier.
Mikhail Suburov-Tachibana

As Annabelle bumped into Mikhail, his concentration on 'Presumption of Innocence' broke, and the smell of sulfur that was coming from everyone around him faded. This allowed him to greet Anabelle and Valechka with a genuine smile this time, taking the former's hand, before greeting the latter, happy to see someone else who spoke Russian (he didn't know about Donovan).

"Hello, Annabelle and Valcheka, my name is Mikhail Suburov-Tachibana; I'm Half-Japanese and Half-Russian. These are my friends, Nico and Alice." Due to not smelling sulfur all around him, Mikhail was more sincere when saying Alice was a friend. "Anyway, want to form a group with us to deter bullies, as well as help each other in academic studies?" He would casually reactivate Presumption of Innocence, faintly glowing as he did so.

And he would find that everyone still stank of sulfur, and his nasty internal mood returned.

Oh, I get it now. Apparently, there are so many people here that my senses have been distorted. Presumption of Innocence is probably closer to Presumption of Relative Innocence to the inexperienced, and that is me. He would look at Alice, realizing that, although she was hiding something, he may have wronged her in his heart. Now to make a decision, stick to thinking badly of her out of pride, or find a way to convey his apologies to her subtly.

Turning off the ability again wouldn't hurt, though; as his parents reminded him, it was subjective. And so he turned it off, before greeting Annabelle again:

"You know, you look like you are just Nico's age; why don't you walk beside him?" Yes, Mikhail found Annabelle beautiful. However, he was going to try and set her up with Nico anyway, because even though his view of Alice had gotten better, he still thought that Annabelle was prettier and more mature than the other girl. "I'm going to take the rear of the group."

I'm going to give give Nico time to be beside one of the prettiest girls I've seen so far! Mikhail thought. I really hope this would make him happy...

@January As much as I would want to see more of Lucien and Elliot, chatting online wouldn't be possible.

@RoflsMazoy Yup, magic interferes with technology. Anything electronic will most likely be non-functional.

@Nanashi Ninanai Nope, no electricity. In the opening post in the IC, Jasper's room was well lit, but not by a light bulb. He had a miniature sun-like construct to do that for him in his office.

@Masaki Haruna Sorry for the hassle. By the way, you're edits are accepted.

@Menhir I know Letter Bee had already explained it, but Mikhail's ability is just subjective on his own beliefs.

@January So far, I haven't seen Mikhail go overboard with his abilities, but like I told Menhir, most of what he senses is based on his own interpretation of a person's character along with what he chooses to believe in. How accurate his ability is kind of depends on how much you trust in Mikhail.

@Letter Bee I mean, for me, I don't see any real issues here; at least, nothing game bracking has occured. There's the potential to do so, but when that happens, I'll quickly intervene. However, I'm giving everyone the benefit of the doubt and trust their own judgment on discerning what's imbalanced and unfair.

Given Mikhail's ability, I just see him as some sort of self-righteous individual who's quick to judge others despite not knowing much about them. Basically, a teenager. I don't see why you have to change the way you're RPing him. All these flaws in your character are just points to over come while RPing him; that's the whole point of character development.

I don't think the power change is necessary, but if you really want to, let's discuss it. The only thing I'd want to comment on is what Mikhail actually detects. "Inner Bad" shouldn't be absolute and is just subjective; what he'll do with the information he perceives, that's up to him. If you want to edit it somehow, I suggest you tweak the whatever it is he senses from people.

Define "Bad Nature". And you aren't even sure if criminals do get invited to Four Winds. I did say that Four Winds created students who were thorns to society, but whether that happened before, during, or after their time at the academy, is still unknown.

If you want to discuss the ability, send me a PM.

Scio, good points, and thanks. And, yeah, 'Inner Bad' should be subjective.
@Nanashi Ninanai, @Scio, @Riffus Maximus, @January, @Banjoanjo, @Menhir:

It's settled; Mikhail can scent the normal bad nature of people, and can detect if someone 'smells worse' than the usual. However, the general sense is distorted by large crowds, as well as the ambient smell of the place due to actual criminals having been allowed in the campus multiple times. It also doesn't help that constantly smelling sulfur does not do wonders for Mikhail's attitude, and he's afraid of turning it off out of paranoia.

However, once the crowds fade or the first trial forces him to turn off 'Presumption of Innocence' to save energy, or should something else happen, he'll lighten up.
Don't worry man, we all make some mistakes hahahaha. Took me a few times to actually conceptualize Akasha's powers. Even now I changed hers again.

If I may be so bold as to suggest something, maybe you could remive the sulfur smell. Use the intensity of the aura. Mikhail could still detect a sinful person, and its degree of malevolence would be dictated by the brightness of your aura. That way, Mikhail would know somethings off about someone without actually knowing what it is, hence keeping the neutrality of your power. Hell, you could even add color to your aura according to the 7 sins if you really want to know details, but determining the nature of someone's sins in actually what makes the power a bit too subjective.

Thanks, if @Scio approves, we can do that.

Edit: Wait, no, I have another solution; we keep the 'Mikhail smells people's inner bad sides as sulfur', but have it be influenced/distorted by the fact that he had it constantly activated and he's in a crowd. Throw in the fact that the school itself smells due to Jasper letting in actual criminals in the past multiple times, and one can understand why he would jump to conclusions.
@Scio, sorry for troubling you, and sorry for causing issues in your RP again.
