Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

@Jagen, @Auragreedia, ah, fair.
Interested! Don't really know mage lore like that, but I've played mta 5e a few times

You mean VTM, right?

Mage 5e isn't officially out; what the GM linked to was a homebrew.
@Letter Bee You know what, I allow it!

House Flambeau guy or Technocratic Reformist (another idea I have)?

Also, do you have a Discord account or server?
@Jagen, I hate to be that guy, but while the Technocracy are corrupt and evil now, they're also the reason we have mass literacy, democracy, and indoor plumbing. There are literally several groups within the Technocract trying to reform the organization.

That said, I enjoy the Order of Hermes more, so is a House Flambeau member viable?
Intermission Five - Aftermath of Victory

Municipality of Lubao, Pampanga Province, Philippines - 1/1/2023, 9:23 AM, UTC+8

Crown Prince Shinyahito watched the new members mingle with Cristina, even as he, feeling weary, realized that after suffering so much attrition, Task Force Obsidian no longer had it. With the departure of so many people, many of them without a warning, the Task Force was a shadow of its former self.

Something good was there, but now it's gone.

On the verge of victory, most of the ensemble of characters that was Task Force Obsidian just lost enthusiasm for their goal and most despairingly of all, each other, as though they had forgotten about their comrades and their friends. There was something... unnatural in this.

He could see his sister, Princess Fukuyo, ready to dismiss them with only the mildest of disappointed looks; as far as she was concerned, Task Force Obsidian had served their purpose - Weaken the Russo-Chinese alliance trying to revise the world order and their threat to Japan.

Looking at Cristina as she continued to persist, determindely rallying the new recruits and giving them their orders, the Crown Prince of Japan (who sometimes lost the position when he retconned himself from reality), walked over to the Filipino girl and asked, "Would you need help with that, Ms. Bernardino - Cristina?"

No, this isn't the end. And even if it is... what Prince was he who would not fight the darkness until the very end?

Fallout: New Orleans

Wooden shanties and lean-tos on rotting platforms lead to houses of brick-and-mortar dotted with shops as they lead to townhouses of plaster and marble with windows as clean and clear as they were in an earlier age. At the center of all these are opera houses, fashionable stores, mansions and a Cathedral with sharp pointed roofs, whose white walls speak to the locals' continued devotion. The docks swarm with ships of all sizes and makes, while the busy, loud, and ever-flowing markets promise everything one can ever want... If you have the gold.

OOC Discussion Discord (To be Added)

War, war never changes.

But war is merely one of many ways of satisfying one's greed; coin and commerce matter too, and they go hand in hand with war.

When the apocalypse ends, radiation fades, and the poisons in the sky, sea and earth withdraw so that the survivors can and rebuild, greed grows for what one does not have, and what one cannot easily take through force. Thus, the gears of barter and exchange turn again - That's why you're here, isn't it? Because this spot of the world is rich again?

This is New Orleans, the most civilized place in the Bayou Wasteland, where north and south meet to make its ruling 'Merchant Princes' wealthy beyond belief. Composed of survivors and wanderers, plus the occasional pirate who decided to go legitimate, these wealthy men and women are extravagant and refined in ways that even New Vegas would find tacky; these feelings would be returned if there were reliable ways to talk back.

Even more scandalous is their openness, as their ranks are open to all who are intelligent enough to barter and haggle; Human, Ghoul, Super Mutant, Sapient Deathclaw, and Robot. The Merchant Princes care about wealth, not whether you have skin or scales or a steel chassis.

As for the rest of City... the wealth of nations flows through its port, but so does misery equivalent to the affluence of the few. Poverty and debt are threatening to drive a resurgence of the ancient evil called slavery, and some Merchant Princes turn a blind eye to it.

At the same time, threats to the City and its gathered wealth grow.

To the West, the Apache Confederation has taken land once belonging to Caesar's Legion, and are riding to take Louisiana for itself. These First Nations, who own and breed some of the last known surviving herds of Horses, and are the main source of ridable steeds in the Wasteland, are fierce, mobile, and growing in number as they march to the lands to their east.

Northwards, the Enclave flees a victorious Midwestern Brotherhood and has begun preparations for a war of extermination it cannot and should not be allowed to win.

And to the East and South, merchants and refugees tell a terrifying tale of an old foe of America returning, a foe it helped end the world to try and bury in nuclear fire: Communism has returned, implacably vengeful and drunk on real and imagined grievances...

So, what's this about?

Well, TL;DR - This is a Character-based RP set in the Fallout series by Bethesda Softworks, which in turn is a post-post-apocalyptic game popular among the people who frequent both SpaceBattles and this site... as it also has an Alternate History component in its backstory.

You can play an Original Character, from a Canon Fallout Race/Species, whose goal in turn is to survive, advance, and pursue personal storylines while interacting with each other or GM-run NPCs. While you are supposed to start fairly low-level (think a starting character in a Fallout or Mount and Blade game), you can request the GM (me) to start at a higher power level (up to a leader of one of the Main Factions mentioned in the summary) in exchange for providing assurances of quality and availability. The more starting power you have, the more responsibility you have to show up.

To avoid excess clutter on the OOC and leave room for people to create factions, locations, and NPCs, I'll summarize a few lore tidbits here:

- The Apache, who also have the Comanche and other nations as vassals, are the main source of horses (unless modified by player choices). They are also expansionist, stomped the Legion several times to take their place as a Great Power, and are divided into several factions; some want to do to other nations what was done to them, others want to live in peace and coexistence.
- Super Mutants in New Orleans are the intelligent kind, with some being survivors from the Master's Army.
- Coffee, Sugar, and Cacao come from the Caribbean and are traded for food and meat and other raw materials from further northward.
- Mardi Gras is still celebrated.
- New Orleans has its own gold coins called, well, 'Gold'.

Rules:

1.) Do not be an asshole.
2.) No Godmodding or Powergaming, aka no controlling other players' actions, no defeating your enemy in one shot, and no shrugging off all hits without an enchanted shield.
3.) No OOC feuding! If you must argue, be respectful. IC, meanwhile, you can hate each other as much as you like as long as it doesn't seep over to OOC.
4.) Please notify me if you will be gone longer than a few days. I'll let you guys know if I'm gone.
5.) I reserve the right to control or kill off characters and NPCs/NPC Factions made by inactive players and control and write out (but not necessarily kill) OCs made by those inactive players. If you're inactive, this means I get to use your OCs and factions to advance the plot when it's slowed down or stalled by your sudden departure.
6.) All relationships between people of the same age group are allowed, whether homosexual or heterosexual, as long as it does not violate The Rules.
7.) If you take up an important spot in the story, I expect you to be active in a reasonable time frame; so many RPs have been destroyed by people getting important spots and being slow or just dropping out.
8.) No Lore-breaking Species/Races, such as Energy Beings, Anthros, ISOT'd/Isekai'd beings, etc. No Zetans, either, unless you are very good at making one interesting and not a game-breaking, tone-breaking Marty Stu.

Mykhailo Martinez

Amelia Schön

She arrived in time to see the enemy F-15 had actually been taken out with pilot ejecting, she was happy to see that at least but upon hearing of the damage Brightspark spoke of, wiped the smile of her face as she manoeuvred into formation with him to try and survey the damage, it was hard to tell during the night sky how bad it is, but it didn’t look pretty. “Cobalt 5, Your stabilizer is not looking pretty, how she feeling?” second later, beeps started going off in her cockpit, someone was attempting target lock, of course she forgot about the Mirage’s coming in. “Hold that thought” she said as a target lock was achieved.

@Letter Bee

"The spirit is willing but the body is... I think you can see," Mykhailo quipped happily as he continued, "I should apologize; I spent a lot of ammo trying to bring down one plane. On the plus side, lasers are possible, apparently... and I want some."

Then he remembered that Amelia was being kind enough to fly beside him, and the young man responded, "Thanks; what about you? You doing well?"

He spotted the remaining enemy planes; he knew that he needed first shot at the foe and so said, "Fox Two! Guns!" as he fired an AIM-9 Sidewinder at the nearest Strike Eagle followed by a burst of rotary gun fire.

If he was lucky, he'd become an Ace. And at the expense of rivals too.

Intermission Five - Aftermath of Victory

Municipality of Lubao, Pampanga Province, Philippines - 1/1/2023, 9:21 AM, UTC+8

Jin Li decided to demonstrate his continued usefulness by saying, "I have an answer as to why you were facing only one member of the Zodiac in both the last mission and this meeting. Suffice to say, there's been serious attrition among their ranks in recent months, according to our sources in the Mainland. The war has become unpopular the longer it goes on without the easy victories of its first few months, and Laos and some of Cambodia defecting has not fixed that. So only one Zodiac member - One who survived, by the way - was there to face Task Force Obsidian in the decisive battle of the war and only one Zodiac member was able to try and take us on here."

He smiled at that and continued, "I guess the Chinese Communist Party is running out of A-rank Arms Masters to send at you..."

Then Jin took out a USB from his sleeve and handed it to Cristina, saying, "No, they don't have the Cat, but here's the data I got on the CCP's 'Zodiac'; I have been gathering my own version of the group, by the way."

Looking at Callie, Jin would pre-empt any accusations of holding back information from them by saying, "I was going to reveal that information if the meeting had not been interrupted by Feng, by the way. Consider it a... gesture of reciprocity."

Then Jin added, "The Dragon and Rooster are already dead; good riddance. The Snake, Lei Qingshe, was both our forces' cornerstone until she was killed through treachery. As for the Rabbit and Goat... they're either dead or defected."

He left it unspoken as to who they defected to. Then he finished the discussion by saying, "Well, there doesn't seem to be much damage to the town due to Feng's actions, but the nearby river still needs to be cleansed of IEDs. So if you'll excuse me..."

And then Jin Li, formerly the pretender to the Qing Empire, now Party Secretary of the New Chinese Democratic Party, walked off, giving no instructions for the party; not that it was his place to give them anything to do.

As for Bahram, the Persian Mercenary from Broken Sword, he had vanished along with Levi Orienko, the other young merc. Crown Prince Shinyahito, meanwhile, glanced at Callie and Cristina, waiting for them to give orders; Myron assigned them authority, after all...

But what to do in this war-ravaged town?

@Theyra

One: Are you still looking for people?

Two (apologies for length): Is it godmodding if I pick a cannon species that is infamously difficult to properly kill? (Gen'dai. What Durge from 2005 CW and Rayvis from Survivor were. Intense regeneration, with a nerve cluster in their brainstem that is just about the only part of their body they can't regenerate, making it the only way to truly kill them shy of leaving nothing to regenerate back from.)

The caveat to that would be sure, it's incredibly hard to kill them, but not nearly as hard to incapacitate them. Sufficient damage in-lore takes them minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or even years to regenerate fully depending on the extent of the damage.

If you aren't alright with a Gen'Dai character, I can always just run something else. They're just one of those species in Star Wars you don't see a lot of, and are weird/potent enough to be interesting. Not to mention that they can have plenty of character beyond 'horror movie monster' as they live for centuries, and aren't just dumb brutes.

Character concept would be a Gen'Dai security guard for another PC. The quiet big guy kinda character, who in a more political game would be mostly be stopping attempts to intimidate/assassinate his charge and making the occasional observation/comment. Or maybe, for a more cutthroat/corrupt politician, being an intimidating wall of sentient meat to go menace political opponents.

Decided I might make a Clone Rights Activist who is not a fan of Mando Culture. I might make him an outright politician instead, though, if you want to bodyguard someone like that.
First. Also, I know we're using more Legends than Canon, but can we have people who believe in Clone Rights without also promoting Mandalorian culture as the best?
