Bio
Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.
Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.
defiantly interested. the whole using previously made characters and making npcs out of them is particularly cool.
Sweet. That's another to the list!
With 7/8 people, we're close to getting an OOC made. I'll be indisposed for a day or so in short order, but I can definitely get cranking. If this keeps up, we might even make it to the full roster of 16!
@Lugubrious Ah, so that's kind of like an original character tournament, then. I might join, but that depends on whether I can come up with anything that isn't brokenly powerful compared to other characters.
Yep, that's the inspiration. I'd be happy to have you, and would be able to provide feedback on the general power level I want to start with.
@Lugubrious Am currently a little too busy / have too many rp's I've committed to for me to tack another one on, but the overall idea seems interesting enough that I think you'll get some bites.
Also, the battle mechanics is very unique. While it can easily lead to some amazing prose and whatnot, I also feel like it can easily upset some writers should the vote be against them. You can count on me dropping by once in a while to peek in and see how the game is going though.
Questions: Would non-precipitatory members be able to vote (aka me)? And what if there is a tie in votes for a battle?
No, only participants would be able to vote. If there is a tie, I myself will break it by adding or withdrawing my vote.
Interested, as I've said. Have a character in mind already and everything.
Question. Say there are parts of a character's character sheet that I want to leave out of the public submission because of spoilers or something of that nature (the wish, for example, or the specific significance of the echo). Can we keep them out of the public CS and send a complete one your way, or do you think it'd be best to have the whole thing on display since other players will likely be controlling our characters at some point?
I think the Echo could be left out, given that it's not pertinent to players using your character in fight scenes. If a character's Echo is where a fight is going down, details about the area can be dropped beforehand or given before the opponent starts. However, I think that Wish should be left in, as it can very much color a character's personality.
Edit: alternatively, you could keep the physical description but not personal significance of the Echo in the public version of the sheet.
If I may, I'd like to invite you all to take a look at The Crucible, an idea I have brewing. Having remained with this RP this long, and given your general writing levels, you all meet the dedication and skill requirements to be more than welcome to join. Even if you're not interested in joining a new RP, I'd be very happy to hear any feedback you might have on the idea anyway.
