It had been some time since James had last been seen, so Magna Pater would be long into his lair and thus couldn't attack him. He now crawled out somehow from the pool of shadows, severely weakened and his shirt now stained with blood, and panted heavily.
He leans against a tree and continues to pant but doesn't do much else.

Now that Melody and Niesha had taken some food, Rowan now turned to Cliff and offered him some. He also decided to take some bacon; AND EAT IT!

James, completely defenseless due to his loss of blood, hung limp in the air waiting for his inevitable demise.
Suffice to say he had no counter to Jazmyne tilting his head back nor her blood pouring into his mouth. Not really understanding what was going on he unconsciously swallowed the blood which now begun to flow into his mouth.
*Ba-Dump*
Pain wracked James entire being as he now began writhing in pure agony. He had never experienced such pain before in his short lifetime. It was enough to make him lose consciousness only to regain it, and this happened multiple times.
He had no idea what was going on, all he felt and knew at this stage was pain.

James floated in what seemed like empty space for a short amount of time. He couldn't tell which way was up, or which way was down. All he knew was that the darkness that surrounded him made him feel cold and weak.
Suddenly he felt something grab onto him and, as he frantically squirmed around in a vain attempt to see or feel what it was, he felt a pair of very sharp fangs pierce his neck. As the fangs sank into his flesh he went stiff for a brief moment before crying out in pain.
The pain certainly got him moving as he squirmed around even more in a frantic search for whatever it was on him. Feeling his hands land on something solid he went to throw it off of him but suddenly felt very weak, even weaker than what the darkness made him feel.
It would seem that the sudden moving around as he was losing blood was a very bad idea as a dizzy spell hit him. Only one thought entered his mind at this point. Was this how he was going to go out?

Also I believe we left the mid-strength range of fighting.

Crushing doesn't equal tearing, plus it would still bloody hurt if someone tugged or crushed their tail in his grip. TBH if it wasn't for Yami, he would've bit the damned tail as well.
And I never said he had the same strength as him, going toe to toe easily was my way of saying he probably has the highest physical strength. But in close quarter combat he would lose to you simply because he can't match the reflexes.

If you minus the nearly indestructible shield and the fact he doesn't have his speed, experience, reflexes, durability and guns.
Not even remotely close to captain america, two very different people with very different abilities.
edit: also isn't really trained in hand to hand combat, remove his sword and he can hit you hard but not with any great technique (unless we're going with jabs and upper-cut. That's about it XD, maybe also slinging people over his shoulders).
Really his only decent trait is his strength, his reflexes can't really match Magna's so that's why he's been avoiding close-quarter combat. Also isn't Magna afraid of bright light? Why is he running around a fire? XD

Well reading James Cs I believe I wasn't very clear on this, but let me clear this up. James has rather enhanced strength...like tree-ent strength
Course if this fight was actually low powered I would have fun with it and mainly destroy the scenery. But this fight; all out or die in 2 seconds -_-
I doubt this tail can survive. How else does any think he cut through a tree with such ease earlier? (Well his runes helped)
In terms of pure brute force (I.e arm wrestle) James could go toe to toe easily with Magna Prater at full strength, which in this fight I am being forced to do
In short of James swings and hits Magna, fun will be had.

Since the shadow portal was apparently instant (don't look at me!), The monster would have have missed the grab, though as it was also strong enough to rip off appendages there would gave been little chance of the man greatly damaging its tail. As it felt the membrane of its good wing sizzling, the arrows having melted holes in the tough flesh, it would attempt to dive down into the pool of shadow in pursuit of James. The sooner it consumed him, the sooner it could go after the bothersome thing that had been launching strange projectiles at it.

What does your tail being strong enough to rip off appendages have to do with James crushing your tail? He has the physical strength to easily do it.
