level two // scrapyard // 275 words

Roadhog watched in the distance while the lizard was picking up orbs that float across the battlefield. He was still confused about the whole thing. There wasn’t a moment of time to demand answers, but he didn’t know what to ask. So many questions that might not even provide him with an answer. Then, he watched as the lizard was screaming at the remaining rabbits. And somehow managed to convince them to join his side. It was an impressive task to accomplish because Roadhog thought he was a complete fool. Then, he heard shouting behind and saw that the two humans were arguing about something important.

One of them left with a huge grin on his face while leaving the other one behind in disbelief. Roadhog saw that he was approaching the man with a black hoody. While walking towards them, his mind started to wander around about the cowboy with that strange device on his arm. He looked like a Junker, but Roadhog would have recognized him by now, especially with the way he looked and acted. Even when he was standing besides him, Roadhog kept looking at the man figuring out who was he. Then, there was the black hoodie man.

He was a strange fellow compared to the others thanks to the hoodie; however, one of the creatures said that he was the one who “free him.” He had some questions regarding that and turned away from the cowboy to the cloaked man. “Early, something said that you freed me. How? Why?” Roadhog kept the question simple enough for a proper explanation. After everything that had happened, he deserved some answers.

I understand the worry about having so many military/vet characters in a survival horror, but two of the three vets asked if they could be one. One of the reasons that I said yes was because of their age. They weren't going to be thirty years old that came back from service and is ready to kick ass. And I felt comfortable enough to see their character sheets. Of course, they aren't automatically accepted. Nobody is accepted. Me and Euphonium will be reviewing every character and judging them based on whether or not they will fit in with the roleplay and how much work and care you put into your characters. After all, we are looking for a small number of people for this roleplay.

And with that, I am announcing that nobody else can apply to be a military vet. We already have two of them. @Prizrak, I am afraid that you have to be only a police officer. Because you didn't ask either me or Euphonium if it was alright that you could make a military vet that's a police officer. Plus, I am worried about Eliza becoming OPAF due to her having both military and police exp. It is fine if you want Eliza to be an police officer but you can't be a vet. You don't need the military to join a police department just that you are in good shape and pass the physical and psychological test.
I am interested! Can I save a spot??

Sure thing. For everyone else that has expressed interest, the deadline will be on February 5th or the 4th. It will depend if everyone is done with their sheets.
I’ll put my hat in the ring but if you’re not taking anymore that’s fine. I found this way later than I should have, but I’m already partially done with my character sheet if that means anything. I was going to write either a cop or EMT. Really whatever you wanted more.

Go ahead and finish it.
Hey, is there still room?

I was very busy this week and didn't have time to read the full interest check until now.

If there is still room, I have a question about my potential character's age. She is 14 years old. I will try my best to write her realistically for a child that loses her temper quickly and wrongly thinks she can handle the world, but I don't know if you think this is too young for this RP, whether it be for realistic writing or for the way you want this story to go. If it's a no go, I have plenty of other characters that fit well within the narrative (assuming that you're not capped with the amount of players).

Edited some spelling errors

To be honest, the age kinda of does bother for the reason Euphonium stated. And there is the fear of them becoming characters like Sherrie Birkin and Hannah (even known your character is older), young people that manage to survive everything without adult supervision and needs constant attention. If you feel like you can write them without falling into that stereotype, then go ahead and write them.
Since almost everyone is finished with their sheets, I am thinking of pushing the deadline back to the third or the fourth. Are you guys alright with that?

Also, I have made Euphonium my Co-GM.
I have been waiting to respond so my post can be long enough. I am working on a post now.
Love the premise!

Still room to join?

Yeah, you are welcome to join!
Everyone is finishing their CSes earlier than expected and I've barely started work on my own.

Don't worry about it! Everyone still has almost a week to work on their characters. That goes to everyone that has expressed interest or are considering joining.
@Star Lord
I'm not going to whip out mil-jutsu or anything of the sort with soldier knife tricks, he hasn't shot a gun in almost thirty years. The idea around him was that as a homeless guy he just knows how to live rough (little food and all that) knows all about the local urban layout and geography, been through the sewers, and is still somewhat spry after running private property and shoplifting sometimes, stuff like that.

Alright, you have my approval to make the homeless vet.
