Current I turned 40 recently. Nothing happened, no crisis or anything. Turns out it's just another year.

Time to make myself known!
I've gleaned and glanced over the characters thus far, nothing concrete in terms of some kinship, but I figure once I read in earnest, something will come about. Regardless, I know some naturally form within writing.

Welcome, welcome, lovely!

@Rockette Just to make sure you cleared your character with Prisk?

@Rockette is my RPG crush, so she's always welcome! We did speak in PMs, though, as she mentioned, so all is well. By the way, you can take your sheet out of the hider if you want! Or, I'd prefer it, as more easily accessible then.

@Prisk

Oh absolutely. The first thing I noticed after comparing our characters was the polarity. I'd assume whenever/if ever they've spoken they might not get along the best lol They're driven by opposite ideals. I'm interested to see how they interact.

Yeah, it's always nice with a little feisty. I'll write something up in Celise's kinship based on my suggestion.
@Rizza
Cool, we can work with that. What if Celise has timed Duke and Ajax's sparring session, maybe even broken things up when it has gone too far?

Very cool Strife section, by the way. Is that Doomfist from Overwatch? You can put your sheet into the character tab at your leisure.
@Mr Rage
I did! I think I gave it a thumbs up. You can put your sheet in the character tab and work from there instead.

@71452K
Heh, you will be able to choose missions in the beginning. After that, the story will become increasingly linear. You can also put your sheet in the character tab and continue to work from there!

@EurmalEye
You too! Sheet into character tab. It will be easier to find and edit things from there.
So, I thought I'd go through Celise's kinship here, briefly, and make some suggestions based on posted character sheets. If I don't see any clear connection, I'll just leave it at "known by name". As in, she knows your character's name and what your character looks like, but nothing beyond that, as it is with all Guardians at the academy.

@Mr Rage
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I figure that Ajax is the kind of guy that would spend a considerable amount of time at the academy gym or obstacle courses. Celise would most likely frequent such places, but not as often perhaps. Maybe she has received some advice on workouts and diets, and spotting by Ajax during heavy lifts? It would be an isolated acquaintance, though. Thoughts?

@71452K
No ideas sprung to mind with Montero, so I'll leave it as known by name for now! If you have any other suggestion, do tell!

@deadpixel101
I see a bit of antonyms in Roland and Celise. Roland seems to be focused on the collective and greater good, while Celise is the direct opposite. Perhaps they've clashed in previous debates during lectures? They're in different divisions, so they wouldn't have seminars together. Or, this could be something to expand upon in the story.

@WanderingSpirit
I hope you're still with us! So, Celise and Robert are in the same division, which means that they're bound to know each other more than just by name alone. Maybe they've done some group projects together and such?

@Rizza
I'm thinking Celise and Duke will be mostly by name. She'll definitely know who he is because of the distinct physical appearance. If you have any other suggestions, fire away!

@EurmalEye
We spoke earlier about this! All settled.

@Panko
No worries! We're in no rush here.

Updated the Combat section with revised and new Added Effects: roleplayerguild.com/posts/4378640
Added a few non-player characters: roleplayerguild.com/posts/4378645 (Design inspired by lovely @Rockette)
@EurmalEye
No worries. There's no rush here as long as nobody is waiting for you.

You can put a few more spaces between first and last name of the character. Put 'Research' instead of 'Research Division (Medical Specialization)'. Your character's chosen interests will become apparent in the story.

Here's the big one, though: the augmented eyes due to Stigma. Spirits possess humans to stay away from harm and weakness. If a person has been infected once, that person will never possess spirits. This is why a few, select people get such a huge influx of them. However, there are two ways we can sell this to the people in charge in my head! 1. The augmented eyes were a personal choice rather than due to Stigma. 2. Jomen got infected through the eyes era, but he or someone else was fast enough to gauge his eyes out and prevent further infection. The details for the rest would have to be up to you, through flashbacks.
That's the most realistic image of this character that I have,
it's very very awkward when I put photos. I tried but there's something really bugging about it, kept thinking "Wtf". But this is as good as a photo, yes? :).

I'll expand the ideology section, sure, his specialisation should be apparent enough that not listing would not change much. Heheheh, I mean, you made the effort to come up with a card game so why not include it? Got to be realistic, which student won't indulge in a little Recreational TCG if it's no harm?

I shall make your recommended changes tonight. @Prisk

Excellent. I suppose I can make an exception on the picture. It looks like a painted portrait for an actual person, anyway, so it's okay. It almost fits the character. It's a bit of a Dorian Gray-feel!

@Prisk

Hey there~

Made a few adjustments. Boy did I not notice how much I messed up with the the pronouns. I made more of them "he" so that it's an easier read lol. I didn't really mean for it to come up much, just something that felt right for the character.

And I'm still debating what exactly his tools are. I do enjoy the idea of him crafting weapons like ice daggers on the fly, but he also feels the type to me to come prepared. Maybe bring a tactical knife and sidearm?

Perhaps just the gun, because I doubt he can make that out of ice. Otherwise you are correct, he crafts them on the go.

I should add that to the strife section as well yes? I will also try and expand my presence and ideology sections.

Yes. You can go with a knife/sword + sidearm, and then play with the idea of 'coating' the melee weapon with elements! That would make much more sense in the context of the lore.
I'm putting my sheet up for sake of reference. It's not complete, as no sheet can be before we go through the 'kinship' section!

@Mr Rage
Great character concept overall! Reinhardt is one of my favorite characters in Overwatch, and it's always good to have a big guy on the team. I hope your search for a realistic picture alternative is going well! Here are some other comments. On the name, do about 4 spaces between the first and last name. Expand a little upon how people would perceive Ajax (presence). What you have written in the 'ideology' section is background information. Try to go into values, morals, ideas about the world and life, thoughts on human interaction, and such. You don't need to describe Ajax's combat techniques beforehand if you don't want to, and you also don't need to impose negative consequences if they are based on assistance from spirits. Guardians can use magic freely to create abilities and attacks on the fly when they fight. Sure, they can stick to signature moves that they've created, but don't feel that you have to limit yourself!

@71452K
I get a Count of Monte Cristo meets Nikola Tesla-feel from your character, which is very cool. Any realistic picture alternative to go with that sheet? Instead of 'Research Division, Spirit Sciences', put just 'Research'. There is a bit that you can expand upon the ideology section, just delving deeper into what Montero feels about certain ideas and values, moral issues, and things you already mentioned. Amusing reference to the card game in the setting!

@deadpixel101
Could you include Pardosa's full name? Great picture! Your text was a little confusing to read due to the mixed pronoun usage. I appreciate that some people like to partake in identity politics, but I have to make it clear that it won't be a prominent theme in the context of this story. Pardosa can still have these mindsets, though! The points made in the presence and ideology sections are very clear and good, so they deserve to be expanded upon where possible. From your 'strife' section, I assume the weapon of choice is conjuring some kind of elemental weapons? Correct me if I'm wrong.

@WanderingSpirit
Looks great so far! I'm not sure if you wanted some comments yet. Is his surname Cahn or Polaris? Or is Polaris a nickname?

@Rizza
Very ambitious sheet! You can put just 'Warfare' instead of 'Warfare Division'. The ideology section is great, but make sure that you and your character know what some of these virtues mean. For example, "Treat people as they should be treated" can be interpreted in many different ways, some of which are not very nice. Of course, I'm not going to be some kind of morality police here. In the context of all the other virtues, this one is bound to be a good one as well. You can change "Jeet Kune Do and Krav Maga" to just 'martial arts'. I have no idea what those two (I assume) fighting styles are or what they look like, and in the context of the lore, they wouldn't exist by those names. You could create new names for those styles, if you want!

C E L I S E L E L I È V R E
Twenty-Two Female 5'2" Navigation

P R E S E N C E
Celise can inspire the sense of a cousin that one resonates with, but only ever seen during rare family reunions. One can sometimes experience Celise as a sister who certainly has her own life, but sees attention to those closest as a duty rather than gift. She has an aura of serenity, yet somewhat distracted by trivial pursuits. The stars and trails of the land fascinates her to such an extent that it can instill comfort of guidance in others. Celise always knows the way and how to get there. She makes sure that nothing is rushed, that nothing is taken for granted. Celise can stop and smell the roses in such a way that will distract people from pain and suffering.

Due to her relatively petite frame and height, Celise can be instinctively amicable, which makes it easy to approach her for whatever reason. Her choices in fashion might play a part in it. She often wears platform sneakers to gain an inch or two, skinny-ripped jeans, and an assortment of t-shirts with motives and comfortable sweaters. Celise looks more like a youngster than a soldier that could deflect a bullet with a piece of metal or punch a hole in a concrete wall with her bare fist. Her silvery hair is kept around shoulder length, sometimes longer and sometimes shorter. Most of her facial features follows the theme of her height and frame—petite and plump. An iconic feature is her prominent, upper eyelids.

Celise may not always utter thoughts and emotions through words. She is a girl of intimacy in such ways that restore humanity in people. Her hands are soft and her touch is tender. Pursuits such as massaging, braiding of hair, decorating gear and clothing, and grooming others is a quirk that not only becalms herself, but the recipient as well. All of this is given, of course, that a person is worthy of such affections.

I D E O L O G Y
Celise puts the freedom of the individual before all else. Liberty is the primary value that one must strive towards. In any case where such liberty is threatened, the importance of the individual must triumph the collective. Celise refuses to sacrifice anything for what someone might consider to be the ‘greater good’. Every individual matters. When and if someone claims that something is in their best interest, in which they obviously have no desire, Celise will take action to prevent it. She is severely skeptical of power and government. There is always an agenda, always a false word with which to hush the masses.

Wartime often disrupts tradition and order. These two qualities that Celise take to heart. It does not matter where in the world she is, cultural rituals and esoteric habits will always be of interest to her. Whenever she has been on the move, either by her own wish or by order of the academy, Celise tries to stop and take in the views and smell the flowers every now and then. In these endeavors, values such as honesty, dedication, and dignity play an important role.

Celise sees loyalty, patience, and reliability as cardinal traits. When she says that she will do something, whatever it might be, Celise will exercise her stubbornness until such commitment is realized. She believes that every type of group, family, or community needs different types of parts for its engines to work. There cannot be too much of one or the other—there must be a perfect balance. By this logic, Celise does not believe that everyone is equal. She knows it is frowned upon, but she does not consider it a bad thing. If a machine is built with the same kind of part, it simply won't work. You need different kinds of parts with different purposes for things to sail smoothly.

However, Celise can seem harsh at times. She is a firm believer in tough love and has little sympathy for those who break the law or repeatedly make bad decisions in life. Everyone should have the right to a second chance after being punished, but no more than that. The idea of moral values is to live by them. They are there to guide a person, not to be squandered and abused. Certain city-states around the world are experts at this very thing that she despises. Celise shows no remorse in letting everyone know what a failure they are, and that they should be annexed by the army. All manner of vulgarity and amoral behavior makes her sick.

Traditional views of family, nation, and gender roles are important to Celise. She has no problems with cooking, doing household chores, or taking care of the men in her life or around her. As a matter of fact, Celise relishes in keeping things nice and tidy, civil and orderly wherever she might find herself. This extends to her physical appearance and idea of femininity. She firmly believes that a woman's greatest strength is beauty, and such strength should not be trampled upon by toxic ideas. Individual freedoms such as thought and speech should also not be restrained on the basis of offense. However, pointless slander and insults are unnecessary.

S T R I F E
Celise uses what probably once was a ceremonial sword. The blade of the sword appears to be crafted from a dark metal with esoteric engravings of lighter shades. The base of the weapon along with the hilt is decorated with forged ornament of unknown origin and meaning. From tip to handle, the sword is roughly four feet, five inches long, but does not weigh an awful lot. The black metal is assumed to be unique. It cannot be found in any active mine or trading deposit, which indicates that it is finite and ancient. To this day, Celise is the only person with such an esoteric and mysterious weapon. She has no recollection of when or where she acquired it.

Celise is a focused combatant. She knows a wide array of sword fighting techniques. Due to the sword’s light weight, Celise can maneuver it in uncanny ways that would otherwise feel odd and off to a normal person. However, she is a stationary fighter. Celise does not move around too much and often deals with one enemy at a time, making sure that things are actually dead before shifting attention.

Celise’s use of spirits is balanced. She does not favor one or the other element, or any specific kind of catalyst. It makes her a well-rounded fighter, but not particularly good at anything. Celise has a couple of tricks up her sleeve, of course, combinations of elements and catalysts to use, but she rarely finds an excuse to be flashy or lust for blood. She would rather have those who live and breathe combat fight instead.

K I N S H I P
AJAX ARMSTRONG
Celise has met Ajax on a number of occasions at the academy gym and obstacle course. The occasional, casual spotting of heavy weights turned into longer discussions about workout programs and nutrition. Celise received a lot of good tips on how she could achieve what she wanted.

MONTERO TIMBERSON
Celise knows Montero by name and person. Handsome and mysterious.

JOMEN SURY
Celise has throughout the years at Oakridge put up flyers about 'Exploring Shrines and the Unknown' to satisfy her need for exploration and spirituality. Jomen responded to these on a few occasions. Their outings to various locations were quite memorable, as Celise usually ended up doing it by herself.

DUKE KNIGHT iv
Through her interactions with Ajax, Celise has gotten to know Duke a little bit. She has on more than one occasion supervised and timed the ideal men's sparring sessions. She has even broken up a few actual fights between them, and tended to bruises and swellings in the aftermath. On another note, Celise's 5'2" looks quite comical next to the 6'5"+ of both men.

ROLAND FREISEN
Celise knows Roland, or 'Pardosa', quite well by now. They have clashed during lectures at the academy on numerous occasions. Both of them have very distinct idealisms that oppose each other. When things have gotten nasty, they have come to terms outside of lectures. However, they still conduct an ideological battle on some issues, so to speak.

LIESABET ABENDROTH
Celise has known Liesabet for some time now, ever since they were young. If someone asked what kind of friend she is, Celise would not be able to explain it. There is nothing negative about it, there is nothing positive about it, there is nothing ordinary about it—it is just unique. The best explanation Celise could ever use to shed light on things would be: ”She needs me, I need her; I’m her opium, she is mine; She is my graven image, I am hers.”

ABYSSO YBARIS
Celise knows Abysso from their shared division at the academy. They've been in the same group projects a few times, and both enjoy the actual navigation part of the division. She doesn't know much about him beyond their school work, however.

Oh, right, haha. That's exactly right. The Cids are often pilots or mechanics, yes? I don't remember what what it was in 8, though. I'm not sure if 15 counts, as it's his daughter that does all the fixing. Or, well, most of it. He does have the weapon quests.
