Great concept—sort of 'mad' scientist, yes? There are two things, though, that I can comment on.

First, the timeline is a bit wonky. The comet arrived ten years ago, when your character was 34. Your chronicle reads much differently at this time. Am I right in this? Otherwise, I completely misunderstood everything.

Second, the spirits and 'mind' magic. I think it was during the first iteration of The Spirits Within, years ago, that I and those players deliberated on what spirits could and couldn't do. All sorts of 'mind' magic was excluded. Spirits express themselves purely in an elemental fashion. So, reading minds is something that we'll have to cut out and replace, completely, unfortunately.

There isn't as much focus on character powers/abilities in this as it is in typical Marvel/DC stuff, I think. By 'focus' I mean 'uniqueness'. In this, it's more how you attack instead of what you are attacking with. So, any uniqueness has to come from the 'techniques' a character uses to express spirit/elemental magic. I listed some common techniques, but they're by no means the only ones. I gave my own character a technique that isn't listed, and that's fine. I encourage everyone to keep this in mind.

I'm thinking I'll start with a 'prelude' for the story, of sorts, so that people can start posting without making progress in the 'main story' while we wait for all players to complete their characters. When everyone is ready, we'll start 'chapter 1' or something like that to mark the beginning of the main story.

Emilia is a fairly straightforward and perhaps stoic kind of person. Being born and grown in the countryside adds a flavor of modesty and sense of duty to community. She was set on a regular life without grand aspirations before everything went downhill. Having spent the last seven years in the military, Emilia has become like a machine when it comes to commitment and determination—it is all second nature at this point. This is not to say that she does not experience lazy days, but otherwise rigorous requirements are simply routine. Emilia is the teacher type, or mentor perhaps, at least one that cares for the success of whatever the soldiers next to her have to do. It is all in the spirit of getting the job done and being able to go home in one piece.

UDF issued clothing and armor is the typical fashion for Emilia. There are not enough spare days in a year to say that she has any particular style. When and if there is such a moment, Emilia will usually wear rather casual attire consisting of tights, sweaters or t-shirts, and sneakers. She has worn a proper dress, once, but never taken one step in high heels.

Emilia was born to a farmer couple whom lived a slight distance away from a small town. Her parents bred and processed live stock, whose parts and produce they sold to local markets and businesses. When the comet hit, they were able to stay afloat by shifting their sales to corporate interest, instead. It was not what they wanted to do, but they needed to do in order to survive. As the farm is far away from the comet's orbit, Emilia's parents rarely see the disease or its creatures around.

Emilia does not stand out all that much as an Aeon. She is known for high deployment rate and consistency in her service to the UDF. She is a hands-on kind of soldier, so the Warfare Division has been her home ever since she got started in this bracket. However, one of her signature things to do is to drop from helicopter transports onto the ground quite a height before it lands. The way her darkish, auburn hair flows in the wind is reminiscent of eagle wings. This eventually landed her the nickname "Garuda", which is a mythological eagle that is said to have achieved human-like consciousness and speech a long time ago. Emilia's particular strength as an Aeon is in her legs, which allows her to jump to and drop from uncanny heights.

Some years ago, close to the beginning of her service, Emilia had a relationship with a fellow Aeon in the UDF. His caliber as a soldier and reputation as an Aeon overshadowed Emilia by many miles, and she eventually became known for being his partner. Things ended after about a year due to complications and conflict of understanding. Emilia tried to avoid him to the best of her ability, but it was rather difficult when his name was at the tip of everyone's tongue. However, she eventually made a name for herself and people sort of forgot that they were ever dating.

Whenever it is time for R&R, Emilia tries to go back home to the farm to help her parents. She also has a younger sister, by two years, that is serving the UDF as a nurse in field hospitals. They rarely meet each other these days, but they do stay in contact. When all else fails, Emilia likes to spend time far away from the war—any kind of relaxing environment or sprawling city will do. However, vacations are always cut short. Emilia has not enjoyed a full R&R for the past two years. Despite this hectic life, she does manage to send a good chunk of her salary back home, which helps her parents a lot.

Emilia's spirits mostly consist of the air element. Just as every other Aeon, she does possess spirits of all other elements, but everyone also has their personal preferences. Besides being able to jump really high, Emilia has taught herself a 'breath preservation' technique whereby her spirits help her to hold her breath for an extended period of time—quite useful at times.

A short barreled assault rifle has served Emilia well over the years. She tends to be comfortable in mid-to-close range whenever an engagement happens. The carbine also allows a wide range of tactical attachments to be employed. This is the kind of versatility that Emilia favors a lot. She always carries a few of them with her in her backpack, so that she can adapt well to different situations—even if the Warfare Division advised against stuffing tactical attachments down your backpack.

In close combat, Emilia uses a titanium combat sword with a carbon fiber hilt. It sits in a holster across her back, which is connected to her chest rig, but behind her backpack whenever she wears one. The style of the sword is similar to the European Longsword in a real world comparison.

Cool concept. Got me thinking of all those Top Gun: Maverick trailers that the YT feed has been spamming me.

What you can do is to add a little bit about Robert's reputation as an Aeon, generally. And then, maybe something about his time in the Navigation Division—just to expand the Chronicle just a little bit.

A strong mix of Fire and Earth spirits would work for what you describe as the destructive side. That is, this mix would entail a more molten/lava kind of fire, "hellfire" as you worded it.

While the picture is terrific, are there any 'real life' options? If not, then that's fine too, but have a look around if you haven't already.

I have just one tiny thing to comment on, which is a lore thing. You wrote this: "back when the UDF was pairing Archons and Human soldiers together". Did you mean to say "Aeons and human soldiers"? That was and still is the primary means of doing things in the UDF. They have Aeons lead groups of human soldiers wherever possible, but Archons do not meddle with human affairs in this sense. Archons are more likely to disrupt human efforts or interact with them on a very personal one-on-one basis.

Also, the picture—great choice, although a bit low resolution. Did you look for a 'real life' option? If you still want the metal arm sleeve to be visible, we can include a separate picture of concept art, just like @Archangel89 has a separate image for his character's weapon.

I've generated a world map using some site, which was kind of neat. I've added a black band across the whole thing to indicate the comet's orbit. This will be the main war zone or 'dark zone' for the conflict, you could also call it 'the scar' or something like that.

So, those of you who created locations, look at the map and determine where they would be, so that I can add them there.
