Anemia sucks. I feel like there's an invisible vampire sucking my energy through a straw.

The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

a tale to tell

Here in the Tangle, nothing really much happens, not really -- the sneaklings play their tricks and the flapdribbles ruin the good linens and the woofhowls make for noisy nights, but the folk mostly keep to themselves in their cozy corners of the labyrinth; but now, now, folks are turning up stone. Statues! Just here and there, one frozen in his garden, another at her breakfast table, another (embarrassingly) in the loo. About the same time this all began, certain walls of the labyrinth -- which had stood for epochs at least -- moved or sank or disappeared, making paths where no paths were before. Grandmother Wicker says that someone has stolen the heart of Gobbledygook ...

... and that unless someone brings it back, we all will be stone before long.

A call went out to everyone in the Tangle for adventurous souls to seek out and retrieve the heart of Gobbledygook. Any folk interested were asked to please kindly meet up early in the morning at Gobbledygook's forest, where the crime was committed and where clues may be had, for the King's court had nothing of the sleuthing sort on staff, and no one yet has had a clue what to do.
a few volunteers

Your character has only ever known the Tangle: a city-sized labyrinth of wide and narrow passages and angled open spaces, with walls made of stone or gemstone or thick dark wood draped in bright foliage, houses and buildings both tiny and magnificent, and inhabitants of much the same sizes. Characters may be of unusual and whimsical races, or mostly human as the player decides. A bit of worldbuilding where it concerns your character's backstory is encouraged, but bear in mind that the GM may use and manipulate it to the needs of the plot; in actual gameplay the player controls only their character.

The one thing I ask is that all characters should care about finding the heart and returning it safely. This is one motivation that all characters should share.

I don't know what's going to happen next -- that's up to the characters' decisions and actions.

Hanging back to save the day when all else has failed! A solid strategy. xD
@Girlie1Bomba is a good question! The CS is information that Golby knows, and was submitted to him by the PC.
Yeaa might be good for everyone to get their bearings and get to know each other more before we go charging into personal things. :D
@Girlie1Bomba Is cool!

I've had others contact me saying they'd rather not go first actually haha! So if nobody wants to go first I will run the first adventure!

YAY/NAY?!

DO WE HAVE A VOLUNTEER to assist in the first mission and run a small personal adventure? ;)
The moment Elliot's hand pressed against the cool gemstone, the obelisk began to brighten. The light was less like the sun, more like the glow of a firefly, amplified tremendously -- and it continued to amplify in response to Elliot's touch.

The wind whistled past, suddenly threatening to toss the travelers back along the sand, drying their clothes as it flung their hair from their faces.

Something inside the obelisk was moving.

The griffin in flight faltered and somersaulted in the sudden gust, and with a few desperate flaps managed to soar across the beach and perched on the rocky incline behind the travelers, ruffled and shuddering.

Atop the boulder in the sea, the second griffin raised in alarm while the children shouted over the noise of the wind and the churning waves.

Slowly, the wind quieted. The glow softened and dimmed, and whatever had been moving within the obelisk was moving no more. Soon it was as if nothing had happened -- but the children on the rock still scurried and spoke frantically to one another.
@drewccapp Ah hm! Approaching and touching the obelisk shall have immediate consequences. DO YOU ACCEPT?

Edit: too late. I added a lil something so any others behind Elliot can respond to what's happening. :)

A post for you! :D

Those of you on the shore: anyone who decides to climb the rocky incline will see the mushroom field and the town that's described in the previous mod post. Otherwise, the rocks are blocking your view of the town.

If your character would've stayed behind for any reason, let me know and I can add something else. ;)
