@Lady Amalthea Collabing Virginia with mnkee and rivaan’s NPCs

Guinevere Stark

Location: The X-Van
{"Science is a way of thinking."}

Guin tapped her fingers rapidly against the window next to her seat. The tapping stopped as another thought occurred to her. To make it work best, it wouldn't just be a virus that would attach to the X-gene initially that would act as an antidote. It would be easier to make one that would bind in every body, yet the X-gene would cause it to bind differently than in a normal human. It'd cut down the time needed between the release mechanisms significantly.

"Scratch the one week estimate. Could be a day, could be hours in between the two releases," Guin said quickly, not even bothering to try to explain the science this time. Not everyone had studied molecular engineering and she had been studying it extensively this year, especially with even some tutoring from Hank. Unless they understood everything they could about how the virus worked, they wouldn't be able to stop it.

Hearing Nina's more optimistic estimate, Guin shook her head and looked at her fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Her usual malice towards Nina wasn't present at the moment. "Vaccine doesn't just latch onto the X-gene itself like these things normally do - it's easier to make one that just binds differently if the X-gene is present. Cuts down the absorption time significantly. But the second virus...that one we should still be in time for." They could try to evacuate New York, but they didn't have enough time. Not even Quicksilver would be fast enough to accomplish that. And if they did start evacuating the city, Magneto would just release the virus sooner. They had to take him by surprise.

Guin sighed a bit when Pietro didn't remember the last two. "Do you remember their abilities? Or have an idea of what they are?" She said her question at the same time that Cassandra said hers and Guin smiled a bit awkwardly, before turning her attention rapidly to Marygold as they got Beast on the line. Quickly, Guin rehashed everything she had told the others to him, though this time, her phrases were more scientific - rather than the easy to understand analogies she had given the team.

Jenna Westbrook

Location: the Voodoo Shop

Jenna took one whiff of the store and nearly gagged a little bit. The odor was almost overpowering and she was tempted to plug her nose, but that wasn't going to do her any favors with whoever was around. She needed them to explain just exactly what Mayor Ryder had been trying to do. She didn't have too much of a plan yet, but she figured that once she understood how he died and who caused it, she could offer a non-paranormal explanation to give to the police. It'd be a lie, but at least the right person would be behind bars at the end of the day.

Her phone buzzed and Jenna's heart skipped a beat. It should've taken them a little more time to figure out she wasn't actually at the Silver Mine, right? Or maybe the pair of them had gotten lazy and just not looked hard enough. Biting the side of her lip, Jenna tapped out a reply, only furthering the amount of lies she was telling Finn and Dec. But the lies were preferable to the truth, she felt.

To Finn and Dec:

I'm inside the mine. Coming out now. -J

Dec and Finn would be smart, right? They'd realize that she hadn't come out of the mine (obviously) and hopefully they'd just assume she was farther in than they expected. If they did decide to go into the mine, she figured that Finn had enough brains to keep the two of them from getting seriously injured. And if everything worked out properly, she might even be able to meet them at the mine after all.

"Are you legit?" Jenna asked plainly. "I know you tell all of your customers that you are, but I need to know. A ghost showed me a book of rituals and I need help understanding them."

Scarlett Cromwell

Location: Outside the Community Center

Scarlett huffed a bit as she got outside. She curled her fist, causing a few stray pebbles on the ground to swirl in a circle before scattering off. Sometimes it was hard for her to control her temper. And by sometimes, it was more accurate to say all of the time. She didn't like not getting her way and she liked it even less when people clearly didn't realize who she was. The most insulting part was that Lucy didn't even seem to be able to get murdered properly.

But regardless of the fact, if there was a cult in town, she had to know about it. She didn't feel like being a sacrificial victim and she'd prefer to manage the cult, anyways. They might be in need of strong leadership and if it got more people to adore her, so be it. She lived for the applause, for people complimenting her - didn't matter if it was in fear or if it was genuine. Everyone who said it wasn't the same if it was terror was bullshitting themselves and was probably too ugly to shag with anything that was still breathing, in Scarlett's opinion.

She walked forward until she came upon a bench. Taking a quick glance around, Scarlett reached into her bag and pulled out her pendulum. She found it was always useful to carry one around with her. Reaching into her bag, Scarlett frowned deeply. "Shit," she grumbled. The pendulum answer chart wasn't on hand. Pinching her nose, she thought quickly up a solution. It'd limit the answers she could get, but fuck, she didn't care at the moment.

"Okay, spirits, listen up you little bitches. I don't got the answer key here with me, so we're gonna make this work. Clockwise spin means yes. Counterclockwise spin means no. Swinging from left to right, straight line, means don't know. Got it?" Honestly, did she have to kill a cunt to get some answers around here?

The Port of Tortuga: April 4th, 1719 - 4:13 PM Local Time

Aravis stared at Anastasia blankly. There was no sign of recognition of her friend in Aravis' eyes, even despite the fact that Anastasia was possessing the body of Lady Dywell. She merely nodded curtly, as if that was enough to explain everything that happened. This would perhaps be Anastasia's first indication of the fact that something was deeply wrong. Of course, there was also the nagging feeling that would increase with each minute, as Anastasia's host grew weaker and she felt the Devil's Triangle pull on her a little more with each moment. She'd need to be quick to get all of the bodies - and likely selective in which ones she'd grab.

"Tu es vraiment un con," Alisanne spat, her eyes narrowed. "Je ne suis pas morte. Je ne suis pas chez moi. Mais est-ce qu'il faut que je sois morte? Non! Pense! J'ai tué Margot, bien sûr! Ce n'est pas difficile à comprendre!" She brushed a piece of hair out of her face, as Anastasia's rapid movements had whipped up a decent breeze. Her hands were soaked in blood. Her hair was dripping with blood. It wasn't her blood, however. So much would be clear to Edgard by now.

"Is someone there?" Aravis asked, though her tone was disinterested. She was watching Edgard scream in another language at the air. She didn't care if the man was insane or not. She couldn't bring herself to care about much at all. She knew that she should - but she couldn't even feel worried about the fact that she couldn't feel. Nothing could cause her alarm, but nothing could bring her joy as well.

The Devil's Triangle: April 4th, 1719 - 4:13 PM Local Time

Édouard awkwardly shuffled his way to the back of the crowd, eventually positioning himself next to Elissa. He certainly hadn't expected that to happen and given that he didn't understand what was going on - the one mouse faced girl hadn't been kind enough to translate for him as was offered - he was content to just stand there for the moment. It certainly seemed to be the safest option.

Septima rolled her eyes, holding up a finger to indicate for Millicent and Sirena to wait a moment. Turning to face the Lord Dywell, she smiled slightly. "Hello, brother," Septima said. "Manete," she then commanded. The man stiffened instantly, becoming as rigid as a board. Her word was really an incantation, one designed to induce paralysis. Satisfied that he wouldn't be going anywhere, Septima turned back to Millicent and Sirena. She honestly wasn't sure who to deal with first.

"I will not allow you to destroy the flask," Septima warned, staring Sirena down. "If you try, I shall turn your soul to dust." From her tone, it was clear that she was more or less figurative. It was a challenge to a duel - the winner receiving the rights to keeping the flask and deciding what to do with it. She then glanced at Millicent, sighing once more with exasperation. "The only one lacking thought is you, child."

~remember, some of you were sent information as to what you know about the Mullo and Hel via PM a while back...~
Coventry Circus Grounds...

Folly raised an eyebrow at Olivia. While such a book existed, she never saw it herself. Her mother had kept it locked away and hidden, explaining that she'd inherit it one day when she became of age. It always went to the eldest daughter on their 19th birthday, per tradition. This wasn't something that was uniquely angloromani -- this was a family tradition, pure and simple. "Yes, we do...but I have no idea where it is," Folly admitted. "Mother kept it."

"Miss...I'm not sure this is the place for..." Fairfax said awkwardly, as he noticed Olivia begin to strip. He stopped dead in his tracks as he saw the coroner turn into a pure white wolf, his eyes incredibly wide. He couldn't think of a scientific explanation for that rapid rearrangement of someone's structure. It was the stuff of wizards and alchemy. Despite everything he had seen, Fairfax had still believed there was a scientific explanation for it all that he simply couldn't understand.

But the werewolf? He knew technology in this day and age was advanced, but with the werewolf, he had to give into what was clearly in front of him. It was all real - magic and monsters. As for other feats that boggled the mind, Aloise was healing quickly. A witch brought her back from the dead and an angel healed her. She had now died two times and lived to tell the tale - a feat that not many others could claim, aside from the Winchester brothers. Though they too had been killed already.

At Eudora's words, Aloise shook her head. She tried to say something but the ex-marine had a coughing fit, unable to so much as croak out her words. Why was she disagreeing with Eudora's statement that Hel was coming? Or perhaps was it a warning to not brighten the lights? At any rate, Aloise wasn't able to communicate her meaning. Saying language in itself was an impressive feat. Dying and coming back to life wasn't nearly as easy as it was portrayed on television.

For Lilith, she'll find that the lights were all already on maximum brightness. They're all focused on where the barrier had been, so she can move them around and change their orientation. But unless she wants them dimmer, she won't be able to change their brightness.

The mullo reached Katsumi before Millicent reached the mullo. With supernatural strength, it wrapped its hands around Katsumi's throat, intent on strangling her. But as Katsumi had already readied her weapon, she managed to stab the mullo with the blade. The mullo quickly loosened its grip, letting out an inhuman screech as the iron touched it. The screen intensified as Millicent's steel dagger found its mark. But in a frenzied almost panic liked state, the mullo dropped to the ground and then crawled for a good few feet, before popping up once more. It had been wounded, but it wasn't dead.

As for James' phone...He received the following voicemails:

Outside of Coventry...

Guin nearly fell out of the tree in shock. She blinked a few times and numbly waved at Carolina. She had been expecting just another teenage runaway, perhaps someone else with impossible parents and an urge to be something more than what everyone else wanted them to become. Instead, she had given her cards to a murderer. She wasn't sure whether or not to hope that Carolina was caught. As far as she and the rest of the public knew, O.M.E.N. was just another government organization out there to protect them. But at either rate, if Carolina used any of those cards, the detective or the bodyguard or whoever was looking for Guin would instead find Carolina.

As Carolina took a peak around the woods, she'd notice an unnatural green light about a 100 yards away. The light was in the general direction of Coventry. Should she head in that direction, the green light will increase in intensity, until it almost becomes blinding. If she squints and covers her eyes, she'll be able to see an unnatural clearing in the woods. It's a perfect circle of dead plants, trees, and various fauna.
@Nallore Yo Nally, you wanna start the collab for the case with me and @Caits?
@FantasyChic Okay, just keep in mind that I cannot post until you do - and that I won't be able to post within the next 16 hours, so this'll push everyone's counters up some.
