Guinevere Stark

"....Maybe," Guin said, reaching into the pocket of her flannel. She pulled out a pair of Star Wars themed sunglasses and put them on. Her entire outfit looked a little random. She was wearing a nice and tasteful dress, roller skates that had thrusters built into them, a flannel jacket, and cheesy sunglasses. If Guin had her way, it would have been her outfit for every event that required she wear a dress. She was still hoping that whenever she took over the company, she'd be able to get away with just wearing a power suit. "Come on, I'll drive, you fire," Guin told Lance.

Another one of the Archangels malfunctioned, sparking and smoking slightly as it fell to the ground in a pile of metal. However, of the six that remained, five of them locked onto Guin and Lance, sending off miniature missiles at the two. Guin kept on weaving as best as she could with the skates, narrowly dodging death. "Come on, Lando, use the Force!" Guin shouted at him. She figured they just needed to hang in there long enough for Banner and her father to show up.

"Well, that is some glitch...." Hammer murmured, before he ran for his life along with most of the audience.

Guin turned slightly pink as Lance complimented her dress. She was used to her dad and Pepper making comments - even reporters who seemed to feel a need to sexualize her rather than focus on her work - but hearing it from Lance took her aback. She turned her head, watching Hammer prance around the stage like an idiot. Guin highly doubted that he wouldn't turn on his glorified battle bots. As she was still sitting down, she strapped the roller skates back on. They could be useful for a quick getaway - or dismantling the robots quickly - or fighting them.

"There's no way Hammer doesn't turn them on," Guin said bluntly, pulling out her phone. She hesitated over her father's contact. But then she felt foolish and she put her phone away. It was just Hammer tech, after all. It'd be a dud and likely fall over, only hurting Justin Hammer in the process - and she didn't see anything wrong with that. Sure, she figured Uncle Steve would give her some sort of lecture on morality and responsibility, along with the benefits of capitalism over different economic systems, but she didn't really care.

She wouldn't lose any sleep over something terrible happening to Justin Hammer.

"Now, what would a presentation be without a little demonstration?" Hammer called out to the audience. He pulled out a small remote and activated his Archangels, causing the eyes to glow blue as they came to life. Guin watched on the monitors as the robots rose a few inches. "Now, my Archangels are performing a scan to identify any hostile individuals in the area - shouldn't even find any here, unless someone's been dodging parking tickets?"

Guin held her breath, watching the eight robots on the screen. They all hesitated for a moment before they turned around to face back stage, holding up their arms in unison. "You know, it's kinda silly how we always build machines that mimic the human form...." Guin murmured, ready to bolt. One of the eight robots malfunctioned critically - it was Hammer tech - and burst into flames. All of the Archangels then fired on the backstage area, with five of them missing. The other two managed to hit the rigging that kept the curtains up, causing all of backstage to be exposed to the camera.

"Hold on tight!" Guin told Lance, grabbing onto him and using her rocket skates to clear the area, narrowly missing further shots from the Archangels. "If I keep zipping around, can you fire on them and blast those sons of bitches to hell, Lando? Thinking they detected your X-gene or something..."

Guin stared at Lance for a moment. "You were going to make a comment about the dress, weren't you?" she quipped, rolling her eyes at him. She sat down on a chair and took off the roller skates, setting them aside. She'd play around with them more later. They looked almost identical to a normal pair of roller skates and she wanted to challenge unsuspecting Avengers to a race at a roller rink with them. She had managed to get a handle on using them, able to make sharp turns and the likes. Her next goal would be to be able to land a flip while wearing them - but with the speeds they could reach, any mistake would be a death sentence...So it was a project for another time.

"But as for Gilderoy Lockhart - his tech is always shit, so it'll malfunction spectacularly," Guin predicted. "I'll laugh so hard I forget how to breathe and then tonight, when we're playing video games, I'll keep on thinking about it - laughing more - and it'll cause me to be distracted enough that you'll win for once, Lando." She was largely thankful that security had stopped her mother from entering the Expo. Every year, Maddie tried - claiming that she wanted to be there to support her daughter - but Guin had had enough. After the stunt she pulled at rehab, Guin never wanted to see her mother again. Ever.

"Guess we'll find out now, though," Guin whispered to Lance, looking as Hammer danced his way onto the stage. She couldn't help but roll her eyes. He looked ridiculous.

Hammer was strutting what he thought were expert moves, waving to the cheering crowd. Although it was called the Stark Expo, anyone was allowed to present at it. The purpose was to highlight improvements made in various STEM fields - especially those that could be a benefit to society. "In today's society, we face more threats than we ever have before," Hammer began. "With aliens invading from the skies and mutants from the streets, we need an adaptable response unit that can protect good people - innocent American citizens - from harm."

"The Avengers won't always be around to save us," Hammer explained, gesturing behind him as a group of robots came out onto the stage. "I present to you my Archangels - warriors that will protect us and ensure peace in our time."

The next few weeks went by slowly and then suddenly, all at once. Happy drove Lance and Guin to and from school. Every hour, they were supposed to send either Happy or their fathers a text saying where they were and if they noticed any suspicious activity. For Guin, it seemed to be standard house arrest protocols and she just went through the motions. She pretty much just stuck with Lance while at school, and when at home, she'd sit next to him as he read and she'd listen to music, sketching designs for devices as they came into her head.

Of course, even though their parents had taken over the plans for dealing with Hammer, it didn't mean that Guin wasn't spending long nights in the garage. Her father had had her presenting at the Stark Expo since she was little and wired her first circuit board. This year, she didn't have any sort of grand idea - nothing that was going to shake things up and change the world. So instead, she had decided to go with something for her own personal amusement. She had created roller skates that relied on the existing Iron Man suit repulsor technology, essentially allowing her to propel herself forward on the skates at speeds reaching upwards of 200 miles per hour.

Eventually, it was the opening day of the Stark Expo. Guin had just finished her presentation, skating off the stage and going over to the backstage area where Lance was waiting for her. She grabbed her flannel jacket from where she'd set it aside and put it on, hating the fact that she had to wear a dress for these things. Hammer Industries was supposed to be up next and she couldn't help but dread it slightly. Banner and Tony hadn't managed to get concrete evidence against him just yet.

Guin felt slightly relieved as she saw the news that Kilgrave was in custody once more. Hammer was rich and influential, but at the end of the day, he was just a subpar engineer that had to steal plans from others in order to continue to have success. He only had come into prominence because Stark Industries exited the weapons manufacturing business, leaving a large untapped sector for Hammer to take over. Now, Kilgrave was someone who Guin could already tell she'd end up having nightmares over. She reached into her pocket and took out her walkman, putting in one of her earbuds and pressing play on the tape. Ooh Child started to play and it calmed her nerves slightly, but she was still exhausted, scared, confused, tired, angry, and being hit by horrible symptoms of withdrawal.

"There's nothing concrete against Hammer," Banner murmured, shoving his hands in his pockets as he walked over to the glass wall and stared out at the city. Since there was no evidence that Hammer had done anything wrong - it wasn't illegal to have a business associate that once was in prison - they couldn't lock him away just yet. It'd be a lengthy legal battle first, with Stark Industries' lawyers going up against Hammer Industries' legal team. "It'll take a few weeks to bring him in....But in the mean time, buddy, Tony and I are going to send security with you two to school. It's either that or homeschooling."

Guin wasn't listening, just listening to her music and trying to pretend the world didn't exist.

Guinevere Stark

Banner sighed, figuring that his conversation with Lance was pretty much over. There wasn't much else to say or do in this situation. He glanced over at Guin, seeing the tell tale signs of a withdrawal induced rage. He had spent enough time in the gutter of society to be able to recognize an addict needing a fix. He couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for Tony, having to watch his daughter go through this. Banner didn't know what he'd do if Lance became addicted to narcotics.

"Come on, buddy, let's go home..." Although they had their own apartment, they basically lived at Stark Tower unofficially. There was really almost no reason for them to even have the apartment, beyond a sense of independence from Tony - who just so happened to pay for it, so the point was moot. Guin rolled her eyes at Tony, but she allowed him to lead her home. It wasn't long before they were back at the tower, with the kids sat down on the couch as Banner and Tony looked at them.

Banner's phone buzzed and he looked down, seeing a message from one of the Avengers. He went over to the television and put it on, showing a news report. Kilgrave had been apprehended again by Daredevil and was once more in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, being transferred to the Raft. "This is why you two should have told us about this sooner," Banner muttered. "We've already fixed the problem." Of course, the report said nothing about Hammer.

Almost everyone in the Castle who could spare a few hours of time had gathered on the Palace lawns. Many had traveled from far away, some nearly halfway across the world, in order to witness the crowning of Princess Valda Kaur Kaimana Sarai as Queen of the Castle. Although the Castle itself was rather small, it exerted a large influence on the surrounding areas, one that even reached the distance lands of the Eastern SnowPlains, the secretive Big Wild Land Over the Ocean, and their closest allies, the Land of Long Nights.

Enough seating had been provided for everyone who wished to attend. The front two rows were reserved for important guests. Myrus Marcellus Silvers, brother of the Queenling, sat next to a chair that had been left vacant. No one would occupy it. As Myrus glanced at it for a moment, his spirits fell a little further. He was not just without answers as to his mother's death - but his father's fate as well. Behind the dignitaries from various nations - of which a few appear to be absent - are the Wendron Witches. Their leader is nowhere to be seen as well. Five rows back, two twins with silver hair continue to whisper quietly to each other, waiting for the ceremony to begin.

A small stage had been erected, painted white and covered in flowers. It had taken a considerable amount of Magyk to keep them looking pristine, given the chilly weather. Snow had provided a fine layer of powder on the grounds and there were whispers that the moat would soon freeze. An ornate silver throne rest on the platform, adorned with flowers on the legs. The path to the throne itself was in the midst of the seating, marked with a carpet of petals. Those in the audience rose to their feet as a veiled figure approached the path, barefoot.

"Princess Luna Marcia Mathilda Meredith is symbolically the fallen Queen and all queens who came before," Mavis Moll whispered to one of the delegates from the Land of Long Nights, who then nodded in understanding.

Luna stood just in front of the main entrance to the Castle, she looked towards one of the servants that stood there and proceeded to put on the veil. Which was to represent the fallen queen, and the queens before them she was the stand in for their mother due to her untimely death. Once she was ready Luna looked outside to see the crowd there, she then slowly and gracefully made her way down the aisle of guests she then made her way to the gazebo that was set up there. Once she was there she took her spot next to the throne, her eyes wondering over towards the front row spotting her brother and gave him a soft smile and nodded slightly towards him.

Atkin entered the scene next, head held high and in both hands carrying a small red pillow elaborately adorned with gold stitched patterns. On top of that pillow rested an emerald and gold ring, on the top of which were sculptures of two faces, each facing the opposite direction. Arya had told him beforehand that this was the Two-Faced Ring, which is said to have contained the souls of two men who tried to murder the first Queen. He wasn't exactly sure why they'd do something as off the wall as turn them into a ring instead of just shooting them if that were the case, but that wasn't really a concern here or there. Upon reaching the stage he stepped away to the side so he stood opposite of Luna before he turned to look back from whence he came. Assuming things were going according to plan, Arya should have been walking in right about now.

Carrying the circlet of the Queen on a near identical pillow, Arya gracefully walked down the aisle. She recognized a fair deal of those in the crowd, even spotting a few familiar faces amongst the ghosts who had gathered. The golden circlet had been a constant fixture at the Castle since its founding, with only one or two Queens forgoing it in favor of a custom crown. Perhaps it was Magyk, but it always seemed to fit perfectly once the Time Was Right. She then stood next to the others at the front and turned to address the audience. "Please rise for your royal highness, Crown Princess Valda Kaur Kaimana Sarai, heir to the throne of the Castle."

Valda was nervous, but she knew what to do, she had been preparing for this for a while now. It still felt strange, the whole idea of becoming Queen, but she went with it. She had been told what her part in all of this was, and now she walked out, ready to be crowned. She went over to Luna, the one who was filling in for their mother as the past queen. She bowed to her sister, saying nothing, and waiting for what was to come next.

As Valda made her entrance, Lyra rose from her front row seat, lacing her hands in front of her as she did. A soft, reassuring smile came to her features as she looked over her shoulder at her nervous mistress. She consciously made an effort to keep her hands laced in front of her, despite how much they itched to be rested on the hilt of her sword. She wasn't looking for a fight, but she sure as hell would be prepared for one. She was wholeheartedly here to serve, protect, and encourage Valda every step of the way. Her perceptive blue-green gaze did a quick sweep of the crowd before facing forward again as Valda took her place next to her sister Luna.

Arya paused for a moment, before continuing to perform her official duties as ExtraOrdinary Wizard. It was a rare thing, the Coronation of a new Queen of the Castle. The traditions and protocols remained the same, with previous ExtraOrdinary Wizards reciting the same words and not bothering to prepare a new speech. Only the ghosts would know it had been repeated, anyways. Arya, however, had prepared her own words - but the overall structure was the same. "Centuries ago, we were a small village, threatened by the Darke creatures of the Forest. It was MidSummer Day when a barge arrived, carrying strangers with violet eyes from a distant land. This stranger and her three daughters were welcomed into our village, and despite not speaking our language, they proved to be the apt leaders were required to be lead out of Darkenesse. In this time of grief and sorrow, on the day of the longest night, it is now time for Princess Valda to be crowned and continue her ancestral mission - to guide us into the Lyte."

She paused, letting those words sink in. "Do any in the Royal House object to Princess Valda's claim to the throne?"

Luna stood as still as she could be, as she looked over towards her sister she did have to admit she was a little bit jealous it would have been her day to be crowned. But it was out of her hands, she listened to Arya as she started her speech which gave the history of her family. Then her eyes wondered over towards Arya, and then shook her head towards her this was Valda's birthright now as much as she wanted to be the queen. "I have no objections for Princess Valda to take the throne." Luna stated calmly as she gave Valda a slight smile towards her sister.

And now Atkin stepped forward to come directly center stage with Valda. In front of the entirety of the Castle, he knelt down to a single knee and lowered his head. From that position, he raised the pillow to Valda's chest level. In the back of his head, Atkin resolved that this would be the last time he would publicly prostrate himself like this if he could help it. But this was more important than himself. And if this coronation was going to crash and burn, it wasn't going to be because of him.

Valda just stood there, waiting for the coronation to be over with. She didn't care much for just standing there, sitting still was never really her forte, but she did it because she had to in order for her to become the official Queen of the Castle. The fact that no one was really objecting to her becoming Queen, and she gave her sister a small smile when she officially declared that she had no objections. She waited now, hoping that this ended quickly, and that there really were no people who said she shouldn't be the queen or something.

"Do any of the Castle object to Princess Valda's claim to the throne?" Arya asked, once the Two-Faced Ring had been presented to Valda. Legend told that an ExtraOrdinary Wizard had banished the souls from the gold centuries ago, but it was just a legend as far as Arya was concerned. No member of the Royal Family ever wore the ring, yet it was kept close by, incase any new foe should need to be Committed to gold.

Silence fell over the ceremony and Arya nodded her head at Princess Luna. The younger sister of the Queenling stepped forward and delicately placed the circlet on her sister's head, crowning Valda as Queen of the Castle. Luna gave her sister a smile as Arya cleared her throat, making what were to be the final words of the ceremony. "It is my pleasure--"

There was a gust of wind and a flash of silver. No one would be able to identify the source, whether it be Magykal or not.

"--To present Queen Valda Kaur Kaimana Sarai," Arya finished. She blinked, staring at the spot where Princess Luna had once stood, but there was no one there. Her eyes swept out amongst the crowd and no one appeared to have moved. Everyone was in their place. The Magykal wards were in effect...

Yet Princess Luna was gone.

"Buddy....I love you..." Banner mumbled, shoving his hands in his pocket. He didn't really know what else to say or do. He knew that he needed to have a long conversation with Lance, but they also needed to get them safely back to Stark Tower - at least for now. They had already put their own plan in motion and hopefully, it'd work out.

"Yeah, well, sorry for being a major fucking disappointment," Guin grumbled. "And let's not forget, your biggest mistake. Surprised you didn't need an arc reactor to keep your heart going after the paternity test said you were my father!" she snapped. She wasn't even really staying on top with the stuff she was screaming at her father. Her head felt like it was spinning and a good portion of her brain was telling her to make arrangements to score a few hits. It wasn't hard to find a drug dealer in New York City, after all. They were just about everywhere. And the more she craved, the angrier she felt with her father and Kilgrave and Hammer and the world. She just wanted to play Just Dance and avoid the outside world for a few months - maybe even a year.

Guinevere Stark

"I'm angry because I don't want to lose you, buddy!" Banner snapped. He had to close his eyes and count off the digits of pi, trying to calm himself down. He really didn't want to get too angry with Lance and let the other guy take the wheel. It was one of the major downsides of having another personality - another individual - inside his head. Whenever he was angry, there was a chance he'd freak out and the Hulk would come out. It didn't help that anger management issues tended to run in the family and from what he could tell, it looked like Lance had inherited them after all. "You're all I have left, Lance!"

"I know how to fight, Dad. Aunt Nat taught me how," Guin pointed out. They hadn't been entirely defenseless and they had had a plan. It would have worked, had it not been for Kilgrave. "And it's not like you could have been prepared for mind control either, Dad. There's not exactly a device for that. Plus, if you hadn't shown up right now, I would've been on my way to the tower to make a fake prototype for Hammer that when launched would publicly expose him for being a douche. And that's fucking rich - now you want me to go back to Stark Tower? Really? Your usual solution is to send me away so you can pretend you're a fucking genius billionaire playboy philanthropist without a kid! Bet you'd be fucking thrilled if Hammer had killed Lance and me!"

Jade Cornish

Location: Cromwell House - Suite 313 - O.M.E.N. Temporary HQ
Interacting With: Various

Mallory nodded, looking at Jessica. She was not certain if she believed in destiny, an odd opinion to be held by a creature of fate. Her powers relied on knowing when a person would die and warning them of their oncoming death. It was something that just overcame her - a knowledge that their hours were numbered. Yet while she never stuck around to watch the outcome, she liked to imagine that a few had managed to buy themselves some more time - to avoid the danger coming their way. Mallory stared at the group for a moment, before she began to feel the pull. She stepped up to the door of suite 313, knowing that one of its occupants would die within the next twenty four hours, and she knocked three times.

Jade glanced up at the three sharp knocks. There was something unsettling about them. "Maybe we need to convince Hel to come to us, then," she suggested. Ricky was about to answer the door when Jade got up and opened it, taking in the odd group of women assembled outside. She had half expected to see fellow survivors of Altsoba - or perhaps back up from MI13. It wasn't the case, however. However, she recognized the young girl from the case files she had been pouring over - Folly Rozalia Valeska.

"Folly Valeska," Jade greeted. "You do realize you're wanted for murder, right?"

"We're here to tell you about Hel..." Folly whispered, turning her head slightly as if a voice was whispering in her ear. "She's going to destroy the world...you need to stop her..."

Jade raised an eyebrow, stepping aside and motioning for them all to come inside. "Yeah, tell me something we don't already know."

Robin Ramírez & Aloise Zamora

Location: Cabin in Springfield
Interacting With: Mariana Garcia @Nallore, Hel

"The Goddess of Lies?" Robin asked, assuming that Hel was sticking with the Norse myths. She didn't know that there was a Goddess of Lies. Of course, she hadn't specialized in nordic mythology at any point in her life, yet it was the type of title she imagined she would have remembered. Hel ignored Robin's curiosity, having better and bigger things to think about. She knew that her cousin, Baldur's daughter, would show herself eventually. If all went proceeding according to plan, none of the Aesir would be afraid to traverse to Midgard ever again. Those angels would all fall.

Aloise looked at the archer as Robin accepted the arrow, putting it in her quiver after she glanced at Mariana and Aloise. There would be an opportunity to strike Hel - she was certain of it. Yet hadn't this been a mission to shut the gates of heaven and hell? Until that was accomplished, they couldn't make their move. However, she did notice the strange material the arrow was crafted from - mistletoe. It was an odd choice for crafting an arrow.

"It will be no small feat to slam the gates of heaven and hell," Hel mused. She wanted obedience and domination - yet there was also the matter of those pesky angels. Without her cloak, she had little to no chance against her foes. She glanced at her three hunters in front of her, pondering for a moment. Her cloak called to her - it hadn't strayed far from Coventry. In fact, it was in Boston. "One of you will venture to an establishment in Boston - called Cromwell House. Retrieve my cloak for me," Hel instructed.

"I'll go with you to New York, my goddess," Robin whispered. She didn't want to let Hel out of her sight, as long as she had the arrow.

Hel paused, staring at Mariana. "There has been a change in plans...Fenrir failed me in obtaining my cloak. We will all travel to Boston and retrieve it."

"And once you have the cloak...Can you shut the gates?"

"Yes, my power will have no match. I will be limitless."
