Present Day - The Castle: May 4th, 12,508 - 9:15 AM

@Nallore@mnkee@KazAlkemi: Once Luna rings the bell, a message rat appears quickly. It's a brown rat with three white spots, the rat standing up on his hindquarters and doing a sort of salute to the princess. Message rats were always particularly excited to be summoned to the Palace, especially since it was determined that no one in the Royal Family had committed homicide (yet). As soon as Luna says the traditional Speak, Rattus Rattus, the message rat - named Opal - will squeak out: "Your highness, what an honor! Who would you wish to contact today?"

@LadyRunic: No one stops to question Rhys this time and Ernie isn't hiding around a corner to bother him. Access to Wizard Tower is easier than normal today, with the first floor being open to visitors and guests due to the wedding that evening. It was a bit of a hassle to have to create a password and send to everyone involved in the wedding, along with guests...especially so, since it was a public wedding. Esmerelda's Divination Shoppe is having a sale today, located on Wizard Way - with every palm reading, there's a free SafeCharm.

@LadyRunic: Currently housed at the Palace Infirmary are all of the unnamed NPC's listed as stage two - that is, three young witches, three ordinary apprentices, and five ordinary wizards. In general, the patients seemed to have improved slightly overnight. Bed rest is doing an okay job at keeping them from advancing to stage three, but for how long it'll work is anyone's guess. Becky is asleep on one of the spare beds, having told herself she could take a five minute nap about an hour ago. She had been awake for twenty four hours straight tending to patients.

@FantasyChic@BlueSky44: Marya and Medea had woken up with a horrible, pounding headache. If they hadn't known any better, they would have blamed Antonije for it. However, the twins had gotten dressed and were pretending they were perfectly fine as they sped into the kitchen to get breakfast, going slower than normal - but they didn't want to be told to stay home from Tata's wedding. "Да ли се осећаш добро, Сисси?"

"Имам главобољу, ти?"

"Мислите ли да ће тата учинити да останемо кући?"

"Не за главобољу, не мислим."

"Не може рећи да смо спорији, зар не?"

"... Мислим да је вероватно могао да обрати пажњу."

@FantasyChic: A tall warlock raised his hand, his blonde hair long enough that from behind, he was often mistaken for a witch. With a slight smile, his light blue eyes seemed to bore into her as he looked forward. "My morning's cast revealed that we should be expecting a delegation from the Lagoon - a land without Magyk." Jezebel glanced at Fleur, before nodding in confirmation. Constance frowned, sitting in her chair. Her nose was bleeding but she didn't care. She felt horrible all of the time and it made her furious that Bernice was in better health than she was.

"Are we really just going to sit around talking all day?" another witch asked, huffing slightly. "Maybe we need to go raid the Manuscriptorium - there's bound to be something in there."

Arya Rincewind

Location: Wizard Tower - 20th Floor

Arya nodded, giving Atkin a slight smile as she got up and removed the kettle from the fireplace. She managed not to burn her hands in the process, though she wouldn't have cared much if she did - she already had a large burn scar on one hand. Why not go for a matching set? Symmetry was, supposedly, beautiful.

Downstairs, as Cuyler entered the building, the floor flashed up the following greeting to him - before it also formed an arrow pointing towards the spiral staircase that would take him to the 20th and 21st Floors, residence of the ExtraOrdinary Wizard and their apprentice.

ARE YOU PROPOSING YET,
NORTHERN TRADER???

Back upstairs, Arya then carried the kettle over to the kitchen. Her head was pounding slightly, but she was managing to push through it. The tea would contain some herbal remedies to help both Atkin and herself - though she refused to let on how ill she was. No, she was making tea the ordinary way because she wanted to. She wasn't sick at all. "I was thinking today, we might find ourselves visiting the Forest...The Physik women who live there are quite knowledge and might impart some practical wisdom to you on potions." Arya had been careful to limit Atkin's education to mostly theory ever since he had fallen ill. Actual Magyk would have to wait.

"Or if you prefer, we might go to the Manuscriptorium - Uncle Marcie's assistant has insisted they are too busy for some time now...The entire affair with Asha the Magykal still does not sit quite right with me...Perhaps he might have time to talk to us today."

Antonije Magnisky

Location: Number 40 Alchemie Way - the Basement

Antonije smirked at her. While he preferred to communicate telepathically, Sylvi was the opposite. It caused for some interesting conversations, with Sylvi seemingly talking to herself and Antonije just staring at her. He refused to let go of her, holding her tightly in his arms. There was the sound of his sisters running around upstairs and he smiled slightly, glad they were running. Them falling sick was worrying him, but he had already come up with a plan.

"How did you sleep, Silvija?" he asked her. She didn't need to know about his plan. It'd be better if she didn't, as he was certain that she wouldn't approve of it by any means. Yet he wasn't going to let morals or decency stand in the way of his siblings health. Bruce had been useless so far when it came to this sort of thing. Even if he was a demi-god, it didn't mean he knew the first thing about caring for sick kids.

Jack Newnan

Location: Headland: E. Main Street (E7)
Skills: Survival

Jack did a quick look around as Tatiana finished off the assailant, not spotting anything out of the ordinary. The rain was starting to stop slightly and he noted the orange tint to the sky. He hadn't spent the entirety of his last five years in Georgia, having ended up in the south from Illinois, so he didn't know its meaning. Instead, he knelt down next to the car, staring at his beautiful baby boy. Jamie was absolutely perfect - there was a tinge of anger in his gut at the scar on Jamie's hand, but everyone had scars these days. And those responsible were dead or dying, he was certain.

"Hi Jamie," he whispered, a tear falling from his eye as he smiled, looking at the baby. He felt overwhelmed by emotion and a desire to protect this small little creature - his son. He had hazel eyes - Tatiana's eyes. Jack couldn't help but smile at that, having to brush away a stray tear once more or they would threaten to overwhelm him. "He's so beautiful, Solovey," Jack said, his voice cracking slightly on the word beautiful. He already knew that he would do anything to protect his child - yet he made that vow to himself again quietly, entranced by the adorable infant.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Quincy: Inside House (D13 --> D8)
Skills: Bow

Beatrice glanced at Manny for a moment, observing him quietly. While he was right, Thana had put her in charge. She walked across the room, back to where the others were, keeping a hand on her bow. While leadership wasn't her thing, she wasn't going to fail at it without trying. She did a quick glance around the room, making sure there weren't any dangers that had been overlooked, before she turned to Manny and Alex. She didn't imagine Thalia would be waking up any time soon. "I guess you have your answer," Beatrice told Alex, as Thalia seemed to be mumbling something.

Yet as time passed, new dangers were presented. Three of the windows were cracked and Beatrice grimaced. As Manny returned from watch, she was keeping a sharp eye on the windows. "Not to change the subject, but the wind is concerning me," Beatrice admitted. "I'm from California. To me, our best answer would be to get to the room with the fewest windows just in case one of them shatters and a piece of debris flies in whilst Thalia's in recovery. But I'd like to hear opinions from those of you who have lived in this area longer."

Walnut was silent, breathing in the words of the manor's lord. They had not been invited by the Ambesires then - the news was certainly something of a shock. Yet as she recalled the exact invitation she had received, along with the callous treatment of the guards towards safety and wellbeing, there was a certain logic to it. Unless Ardad Lili was themselves an Ambesire, why should they receive an invitation such as that? She felt a bit of inner anger at not having come to that conclusion herself. She was better than that, smarter than that.

Yet now was not the time for inner contemplation. She had to admit, she did adore the aesthetics of this entire situation, as grim as it might be. It did make her wonder what happened to the individual that left early - had they been dispatched of? Titian's amusement was proving to be slightly contagious and Walnut relaxed in her seat, letting out any tension in her body that had formed. She had just given the lord a simple nod - there were too many verbal affirmations for her taste. "How terrible of us," Walnut whispered back to Titian.

Roleplays:

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Flight UA 2199 (Seat 2B)
Skills: Deduction

Cecily had her fingers curled around the arm rests of the first class seat, feeling incredibly uncomfortable. It wasn't that she hadn't flown first class before - her parents had pretty much refused to fly anything else and her childhood was filled with plane flights. She asked for just a sprite when drinks came around, thinking that if she had anything stronger than basically carbonated sugar water, she wouldn't be able to keep it down. Her tears had stopped for the most part, but she still couldn't help but replay the events over and over again in her mind, blaming herself for Natasha ending up in a life threatening medical condition just outside of the border. No one deserved to die alone - but Cecily didn't know if she counted as company, having barely known Natasha. She considered her a friend. She loved singing with her on the car ride. But...she still couldn't help but feel that Lincoln, Natasha's fiancé, should have been the one to be there with her. Or someone who had known her longer than what felt like a few short hours.

She glanced up, her heart clenching as there seemed to be some commotion near the doors. She had hoped that the seat next to her would be empty for the flight. Every time someone came on the plane, she couldn't help but stare at them, wondering are you going to murder me? The man that came onto the plane was a foot taller than her, her eyes pretty much at crotch level as she was seated and she saw the badge - Texas Ranger. Her stomach felt like it was about to invert on itself. He was definitely not there by accident. She half expected him to haul her off of the plane and throw her into custody for murder, when instead, he took the seat down next to her and pulled out a piece of paper.

Cecily stared at him with wide eyes as he read off her name. She couldn't get any sort of malicious vibe from him, but it was nerve racking nonetheless. "...That's me," Cecily confirmed quietly, still gripping the armrests as she turned to look at him, her heart pounding. "...If you're here to question me, I want a lawyer." She had been raised by lawyers and worked in forensics. If he was going to question her and suspect her for a crime she didn't commit - Natasha had died of natural causes from what she could tell - then she was going to get one of her parents' colleagues to come and serve as her representative. It had been drilled into her since she was little: if a cop questions you, ask for a lawyer. The same standard held for Texas Rangers, she was certain.

Nora Kingston

Location: Docks - The Ferry (Main Deck)
Skills: N/A

Nora thought for a moment, considering everything Vera had said. While Vera's explanation was curious and mind boggling, the attempts to map the Egyptian myths onto those of Greece, something else stood out to Nora. Did they attempt to map them onto other religions as well? Yet she supposed it was simply an exercise in attempting to find patterns. Sometimes, patterns could reveal the human behavior or psyche - in mathematics, they showed the truth about the universe and the world. Yet not all patterns the mind saw, as Vera pointed out, were truly there. They were just willed into existence. "Is there a reason why they link Bastet with Artemis in particular?" Nora asked, curious.

She sat down at the table Vera had found, deep in thought with what she had mentioned. If the connection was to be believed, she was supposed to protect the Bastet - either Artemis or Athena, then. She didn't know enough about mythology to continue the musings, but she felt there was something there. She then nodded at Josephine, still a bit absentmindedly as she was in thought. This would be...fun. She was going to have fun. Baby steps.

Gene Benaszewski

Location: Docks - The Ferry (Boarding)
Skills: N/A

Gene returned her twin brother's hug, standing up on her toes slightly. While they were twins, they were drastically different in stature - though, since they were fraternal twins, it was to be expected that they wouldn't be identical. Gene likely could pass as several years his younger, mostly depending on what attire she was donning for that day. She let him wrap his mind around the things she had said for a moment, tempted to take out another piece of candy and consume it, but she doubted she'd be able to replenish any time soon. She needed to save her stash and ration it out to herself slowly. "I would love to meet your friends, Georgie," Gene teased gently.

She then gave Reginald a smile as she turned to him. "Oh, of course, Peter's uncle," she said, remembering the stories George had told her about him. She glanced around slightly, expecting to see Peter come up the gangplank a moment later and she frowned slightly, wondering where he had gone off to. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Lord Major. I would be glad to enjoy the company of someone as old, wise, and experienced as yourself," Gene said, nodding at him. She smirked slightly, noticing the stare her brother was giving. She certainly hadn't seen that one coming. She paused for a moment, considering taking Reginald's arm, before she just walked up the gangplank herself. She didn't need an escort to board a ferry.

Virginia Crypt

Location: Carlisle (F7)
Skills: Nakai, Pavati

Virginia nodded, saying a silent prayer to the Dark Mother. While Mary seemed to prefer to recite her statements aloud, Virginia preferred a silent and quiet meditation on them. She felt it was something that Veliona would appreciate as well. There was no need to announce her religious beliefs or anything of the sort, causing many to only have a mild suspicion that Virginia was pagan - or perhaps just some sort of indecisive Christian if they were particularly naive. Even Mary had only learned that very day of Virginia's religious beliefs.

She focused her mind through the technique of Nakai as she dismounted Mary's horse, drawing her axes - one in each hand. The last time she had truly drawn them in combat, dear Mosi had perished. She glanced at Mary for a moment, contemplating whether she would bury another friend by the time day had ended - or if she herself would meet her ancestors that eve. She advanced forward towards where she anticipated the Rynes to be, finding a medium sized group of Rynes around the corner. Her axes were already at the ready and she used her training in the Colonies to strike true, nailing one about twenty feet away in the chest with her axe. The Ryne fell backwards onto its back and Virginia took a breath, keeping her mind clear and focused.

"That's one."

Maeve Brennan

Location: Kirkpatrick House: the Carriage
Skills: Irish Sign Language

Maeve nodded, feeling an internal sense of relief when Lady Kirkpatrick didn't ask for Calum or Rory to kill her. This was the way she had learned to survive - to always look for opportunities and to find her way to the next step. There weren't any lines in the sand that she had drawn for herself - except when it come to Roisin's wellbeing. She wouldn't undergo any actions that would hurt her only daughter. And beyond the simple strategizing to stay alive and secure Roisin's future, she much preferred spying for the Lady Kirkpatrick than for her nephew.

Lady Kirkpatrick's next phrase took her off guard - Ireland was under attack. A queasiness rose up in her stomach and she felt incredibly clammy. Her brothers and sisters in law had to be protecting Roisin, right? The feeling continued to rise up into her throat and she felt a compulsion to run to Ireland on foot to save her daughter from any horrors. She'd gladly fight a thousand Soulless for Roisin - it wasn't even a question. She didn't even feel the ground as she stepped out of the carriage after Lady Kirkpatrick, a certain feverish dizziness taking over - but it all vanished in an instant as if she had been splashed by cold water as Roisin ran out of the carriage.

Hugging Roisin tightly, Maeve pressed a kiss to her daughter's forehead. She pulled back for a moment, keeping one hand on her daughter and using the other hand to sign to her, ensuring Roisin was making eye contact first: Are you alright, little rose? Mummy's missed you so so much! She gave Roisin a kind smile, not wanting to scare her or interrogate her. "Can they teach de deaf in Rome?" Maeve asked Lady Kirkpatrick. She wasn't familiar with Rome's training system and what they could accommodate. Yet even if they didn't, she knew Lady Kirkpatrick was right - it would be the safest place for her. "T'anks for de kind offer, me lady. I really appreciate it," Maeve added, nodding.

Ellie Theriot

Location: Xavier's Jet

Ellie was slightly excited, but not for the reason anyone would have expected. Although she was looking forward to dealing out her own idea of justice on those running the Weapon X facility, she had never gotten the chance to fly in a plane before - much less a military grade jet. The prospect of flying was exciting and new. Her brothers had insisted that planes were propelled by Satan and because of that, she'd never gotten to go on one. She practically ran onto the plane, playing with the little courtesy buttons above her seat. She hit the flight attendant call button at least eight times before she shut it off, moving onto playing with the lights.

"Charles, j'ai une question pour toi," Ellie said, waiting for him. She then glanced at Miranda for a second. "Je voudrais aller avec Charles, s'il te plait," she added in fluent French. She didn't really feel like speaking English at the moment and figured one of the boys could translate. "Pourquoi est-ce que tu as beaucoup d'argent?" she asked, turning the fan to blow on Charles' hair, creating a slight poof-y effect as she smirked at him.
