Requiem wouldn't know to look for invisible mutants in the room, but his perceptive abilities are not too shabby. He will notice Jinx's appalling skills in making drinks, something not being quite right with Glimpse, and it will finally occur to him that Emma isn't calm - she's furious. Of course, everyone in the room will be able see ice suddenly form out of nowhere on Emma, quickly followed by the White Queen switching into her diamond form. When like this, she is immune to psychic powers - yet also does not have access to her own telepathy and telekinesis. She gains superhuman strength, durability, and stamina though, making her no less dangerous than in her natural form.

The White Queen laughed slightly, looking like the cat who ate the canary as she smirked, her eyes flickering over towards her fellow members of the Hellfire Club as if Sapphire was just a child with a toy gun. "To me, my heroes," she then said, breaking the silence as she alluded to the famous quote of Professor Xavier, leader of the X-Men.

Veil managed to keep herself and Max invisible, but she couldn't do the same for Sapphire and Havok. Maybe some of this footage would be useful for Max and be a reason to keep on filming, but so far, none of them had done anything incriminating yet. If anything, the footage would be more dangerous to the Mutant Underground as Sapphire had attacked Emma Frost, CEO of Frost International, first. Any and all actions here could be considered self defense, especially since the Mutant Underground folks had snuck into a secure area.

"Hey, Frosty. Still pining after my brother?" Havok teased, before he fired off circular beams of energy at Anastasia. Sometimes he still would shake his hips to send them off as hula hoops, but he had a device clipped to his shirt that helped him to focus his energies into a singular blast. It made aiming easier and he hit Anastasia, knocking her off the couch and onto the ground. She was lucky she didn't hit her head on the coffee table.

Veil threw her hand out, creating a small force field in front of Sapphire just in time, as Emma Frost punched the field as hard as she could. And due to how Veil's shields worked, all of the energy and momentum was transferred to the Mutant Underground leader, sending her flying to the back of the elevator. Her extremely bushy hair managed to soften the blow significantly. Of course, the resounding thud let Emma Frost and everyone in the room know where another invisible assailant was.

"Connards," Veil cursed, becoming visible - Max then would no longer be invisible as well. That was unfortunate - but so was the fact that from the rapid escalation of the already building tension in the room, Glimpse hadn't received information on where Shaw was. But even if they had answered her, would they have told the truth?

It was probably for the best that Casper's phone still didn't have signal - it was a bad time for a drug deal. The living séance finally slipped into unconsciousness from his injuries. As he drifted off, he could have sworn that he was back in Sephora and all of his favorite eyeshadow palettes were on sale. Ben tried to shake him awake, but each time he grabbed Casper his hands just went straight through him. "I hate being dead!" he complained. "Help! Somebody help!!!!!" Ben screamed, knowing it would do no good but he still had to try.

"MY BEST FRIEND IS DYING NOW WILL SOMEONE PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!!!!!"

No one heard that, obviously. Ward got back up to his feet again, like some sort of racist Captain America. He spat in Jack's face, though it was really more blood than saliva at this rate. "You should have gone back to the fucking hellscape you came from!" Ward advised Jack, before swinging a punch at him. He missed, but barely. Using the already established momentum, he went in for another punch and connected, hitting Jack in the mouth. Ward stumbled slightly, his battered face sapping his stamina and making it difficult for him to see. "This is our fucking country! You're a bunch of goddamn roaches!"

He then wrapped his hands around Jack's neck and lifted his knee up at the same time as he slammed Jack's face down. However, the Purifier certainly wasn't the brightest person around - thanks to Jack's natural elasticity, Ward ended up being thrown off balance and he tumbled to the ground, Jack falling on top of him and pinning him.

Meanwhile, Blink had gotten the last few living Morlocks to safety - she had transported them to the nearest Morlock Community. It just so happened to be the Baltimore Morlocks. Shutting down the portal, Blink was panting and crying as she ran out of the main hideout, looking for other survivors. Each time she saw the fallen form of one of her friends, her knees became a little weaker. It made her glad that most of the newcomers had decided to leave - would she have found Leighton's body on the ground? Maybe James'? Or Max's?

"Hello? C-Can anyone hear me?" Blink asked, before she rounded a corner and saw Sunshine weeping in the midst of what could only be described as a horrific and bloody tragedy. The elder mutant picked up at the pace, going at a run over towards the young girl. "Hey, hey kid, are you hurt? I need you to answer me, I know this is scary, but are you injured?" Blink asked, putting a hand on Sunshine's back.

"I'm okay," she sniffled. "Erg... He..."

Blink nodded, fighting back tears. Too many tears and her vision would be blurred, preventing her from being able to see - as well as from being able to make portals if she couldn't "see" the dimensional energy all around them. "Come on, we're going to go find others," Blink told her firmly, putting an arm around Sunshine as she got the girl to her feet.

They weren't too far from where Casper was and Blink held her breath, checking for a pulse - it was faint, but it was there. She let out a sigh of relief. "Kid, keep pressure on the wound," she then said, hearing Jack and Ward down the tunnel a little further. "I need to go deal with someone."

"Well done!" Colossus praised, an honest smile on his steely face as he looked at the young mutants gathered around him - or rather, the New Mutants. They had managed to complete the objective of the exercise faster than most - they realized that they needed to work together in order to overcome a superior foe. "You have learned first lesson. We are stronger together," he added, just in case anyone had been confused as to the purpose of the training exercise.

"Let me guess, they get participation trophies now?" Negasonic asked, typing away at her phone nonstop until Waverley mentioned the radio transmissions she had picked up. No matter what happened, Negasonic never stopped texting. This was enough to make the young rogue's blood run cold as she tossed her phone aside carelessly and looked up. Educated at Xavier's school, Negasonic knew exactly who the Black King was - Sebastian Shaw, the very man Veil and the others had gone off to investigate thanks to Glimpse's intel.

Colossus looked at Waverley intently. "Do you know how far they are?" he asked her, very concerned. He didn't know if she idly picked up transmissions when they were close by or if the range didn't really matter for her powers - his worry was that these people, members of the Hellfire Club, were right outside, coming to attack. They were incredibly short staffed and if they did come, it would be up to him and the people currently in the training room to protect the Underground station. "Tunnels... I do not know. Morlock tunnels are hard to find," he then told James, trying to reassure him.

All of the sudden, one of Spark Plug's powers began to act up - her empathy. She would feel this intense crippling desire and need, it would be overwhelming and bring her down to her knees. Previously, she only would have felt this sort of thing from hardcore drug addicts in the thralls of addiction, off to go and get a fix. The feelings certainly aren't coming from anyone in the room, so who could they be from?

It was a short lived mystery.

Two individuals suddenly materialized on the staircase - Magik and Vulcan. Colossus' eyes widened and from pure shock, he shifted out of his steel form and back into his natural one. He definitely recognized the girl - though there was no recognition in hers. She would have been considered beautiful and stunning, if it wasn't for the deep, red circles around her eyes - anyone who had seen an addict before would realize the cause.

"Boo," Vulcan said, before sending yellow energy blasts from his hands not at any of the mutants present, but the pillars. If these pillars were destroyed, it would only be a matter of time before the entire structure of the Mutant Underground station was compromised, making it liable to collapse. Magik projected eldritch energy around her hands, before her sword (called the Soulsword) materialized.

"Illyana..." Colossus said softly, as Magik charged at Colossus and Moonwalker, out for blood and with the intent to kill.

The second phase of the Mutant Massacre had begun.

Strange nodded at Cass. "Of course," he obliged, before opening up a secondary portal underneath Bonnie's body. Her body fell through and ended up in the Sanctum in New York, and a moment later, Strange closed that portal. He then started to smirk slightly. There was something so comical and innocent about Roman cursing out the drone he attempted to destroy. They didn't really get little moments like that anymore. "I believe you need some assistance," he said, before he sent a magic disc flying at the drone and he cut it in half, a shower of sparks signaling its (un)timely demise.

"This builds character," Shuri told Roman, clapping him on the back slightly. "Come on, we need to catch up with the colonizers," she added, more or less pushing Roman through the portal. Once they were through, Strange followed them and shut the portal behind them, leaving the battlefield behind.

"...So I see that you have all decided to pretend that you aren't facing a dangerous criminal with mystical prowess?" Strange asked, raising an eyebrow as he came through the portal with the others and saw Doom at the workbench. While most people knew Victor von Doom as the former ruler of Serbia, based in the Latveria region - or perhaps as a master scientist - he also had considerable magical talent. Similarly to the Scarlet Witch and certain Asgardians, he was on the list of threats to the multiverse that the wizards monitored.

"He's dying Strange, there isn't a point in attacking him..." she said to him, shaking her head at what he had said about attacking Doom.

"Please," Doom started, before coughing again, "I am still more dangerous than that homosexual sorcerer you call supreme over there!"

"Victor you are not helping in trying to convince him not to attack you."

"It's not my fault that he," Doom paused, his eyes closing for a moment as he sneezed and accidentally smacked his head against his hand, "is an imbecile!"

"Stop it already."

Strange was pretty much just ignoring Doom. He was a dying vain and prejudiced man. "Please, I've gotten drinks with Tony Stark. My self esteem is bulletproof," he reassured the Invisible Woman, before he did as Niah asked and opened a portal back to the Sanctum so they could bring on through the refined vibranium.

Serval Industries - Virginia: July 15th, 2021 - 9:00 P.M.

"The virus should be up here somewhere, Spider-Gwen... she managed to grab it," she said, hesitating for a moment after saying the name of the fallen teenager. It was one thing when a soldier died in battle - another thing entirely when they were just a kid with their entire life ahead of them. Sure, Spider-Gwen had come from a different world but that didn't keep her from fighting to make things right. In some ways, it was her youthful hope and fire that had kept the spark alive in Captain Marvel when things were at their bleakest.

"Hey, at least I never killed anyone!" Wanda snapped, glaring at Maria slightly for that comment. She sensed that Raynor was staring at her for a moment and she sighed. "Okay, maybe I killed a few people... but never kids... I think."

"Oh, that just fills me with confidence, Shego!" Captain Marvel quipped. Had the world not ended, she would have fit in well with the Avengers. They tended to make comments like that all of the time, preferring sarcastic asides to direct confrontation most of the time.

"I don't even know who that is, Miss Marvel," Wanda retorted.

"It's Captain, asshole," she replied - Raynor lost it hearing that, actually starting to laugh. The two women gave him a weird look, not understanding why he was laughing at a time like this. In fact, Carol couldn't even remember the last time she had seen Raynor smile and laugh like that. She considered punching him for it, since they had just lost their youngest member. "Can I help you?" she asked him.

"Nope, I'm fine thanks, Captain Asshole," he snickered, shaking his head.

Carol's hands then started to glow and she blasted Raynor backwards, the Asgardian hitting the wall - but it didn't wipe the smirk off his face. The Vision seemed a bit confused, not really understanding why allies were fighting with each other - and why people did not seem to understand the urgency of the situation.

"There was a girl stationed in the lobby of the building - she was under Ultron's instructions to incapacitate you or her father would be killed," the Vision stated calmly. "The virus should still be present here and there are no other hostiles in the area - aside from the incoming drones." His voice was rather crisp, sharp, and succinct - void of emotion and humanity.

The portal was open now and Raynor picked up Spider-Gwen, carrying her through the portal. Once the virus was retrieved, the rest would follow suit - Wanda and Captain Marvel flanking the Vision, just in case the synthezoid did attempt something once they returned to the Sanctum.

New York Sanctum - New York: July 15th, 2021 - 9:00 P.M.

Banner had been studying all of the known theories on how to make a time machine back in the Sanctum. He was sitting down in front of the only television in the place, a pen and paper in front of him as he jotted down key concepts from his source material: Back to the Future. Goose was next to him and he occasionally would pet the kitty, scratching him behind the ears. "Goose..." he said softly, speaking to the animal, "I don't believe it... It's bullshit."

"If you travel back in time and change the past, then that changes your future which becomes your past - it's all a paradox!" he complained to the cat.

As if the universe had heard him, a sling ring portal then opened and Bonnie's body fell out of it, landing with a resounding thud on the floor next to Banner. The renowned gamma radiation scientist's face fell and as he stared at Bonnie's lifeless body, all he could think about was his son - another brilliant mind gone too soon. "Oh no..." he said quietly, before he saw another portal open up and Flynn walked through, a living fireball.

What was he supposed to tell him - that he was sorry for his loss? They all had lost people. They were all sorry. It never changed anything.

"...Did you get the virus?" Banner asked as more people started to come back from Virginia, his eyes going wide as he saw the Vision come on through as well. "What the hell?!"

Leda Storm

Location: Camp Half-Blood 4C
Skills: Rainbow Manipulation

"Pfft, my gran can aim better than that"! Leda taunted, seeing the arrow hit the tree and miss them completely. Her eyes were watering a bit from the smell, but given that she had just teased them for poor aim, she didn't want to give them the satisfaction of seeing her plug her nose. Leda also did not consider the irony that her aim had been piss poor a few moments prior as well. Instead, she got an idea from an old anime/cartoon she had seen on the telly. "Kiera, Tam, close your eyes," she told them quickly, before opening her fists in front of her, her fingers splayed as if she was about to do jazz hands.

Blinding rainbow light shot out, dazzling and disorienting the Ares campers. "Didn't anyone ever tell you not to look right at the sun?" Leda smirked, hoping that her little diversion would give her friends a moment to take the campers by surprise. She liked the idea of taking a few hostages on their way back to report on the scouting mission. Of course, getting one over on the Ares kids was always a fun time. They were all super into war, while Leda was more of a peaceful demigod (her mother was the original hippie, after all). "I'm just too hot for you arses."

John Watts

Location: Serval Industries - R&D Lab (4F -> 4E)
Skills: Superhuman Speed
Watts and his clone were both hit by the wave and it slowed him down enough that his speed clone vanished. The cyclone hadn't been enough to contain her and he was panting a bit from the exertion, hitting the button on his watch to give him another boost of speed. Wesley he doubted was going to show up at this rate and if the Scarlet Witch got away with the freaking genetic splicer, he was going to make sure that the CEO knew exactly who was to blame for that. Watts wasn't scared of the Brotherhood giving people the X-gene - no, he was scared of the idea of a bunch of terrorists modifying DNA with a device they couldn't possibly understand. People would die from that sort of gene editing.

He had to destroy it. Running in a circle as fast as he could, sparks of red lightning kicked up behind Watts. He then threw his arm, aiming at Wanda, and he ended up essentially throwing the lightning at the genetic splicer in her hand. The lightning hit and Watts' heart soared, hoping that the device had been destroyed - but nothing really happened to it. Had the Scarlet Witch manipulated the probabilities in order to keep it from being damaged? He just didn't know. He was angry enough to scream and god help whoever tried to talk him down after this. His technology was being stolen and the team couldn't care less! "Get your asses to the lab NOW or you won't need to worry about the Scarlet Witch killing you, I'll do it myself!" he shouted over the comms.

The Small Wet Country Across the Sea: November 5th, 12,508 - 9:40 PM

Inside the Palace - the Castle...

As Bruce entered the Library Wing of the Castle, he would find that a great deal of the old and coveted texts had been destroyed by the invading vampires. It seemed that they had no appreciation for the knowledge they had carelessly deprived future generations of. There were bloody tracks going towards a solid wall before abruptly stopping and a ghost Appeared to Bruce and Lennox. "Get back, ye knaves!" the ghost ordered. Now, why would these bloody prints end at a solid wall? And why would the ghost of a knight be so determined to protect it? Did the prints belong to Prince Myrus? They seemed incredibly fresh. Had he just vanished somehow - but he didn't know any Magyk so what was going on?

The Palace Grounds - the Castle...

Most people had left the scene by this point and the palace guards looked beyond exhausted as Mona came to approach them. One of the guards couldn't have been older than eighteen - she was a strong little thing with mousy eyes and a shaved head. Beginning in the corner of her eyes and going down her neck were intricate tattoos - all of them runic symbols for battle, war, and fortune. "I think we got it handled 'ere, Miss Mona," the woman said, wiping sweat off her brow. "'Ave you seen Miss Amarantha?" she then asked. All of the hostiles were taken care of and now the problem was going to be treating and burying the dead.

Antonije Magnisky

Location: the Palace Grounds -> Makers' Mile
Skills: N/A
Some people would have been disgusted to receive a kiss from someone drenched in blood - but Antonije actually found it a little bit attractive. It was fortunate that his clothing left things to the imagination, as otherwise it would have been a bit awkward for everyone involved. "Home," he agreed, not caring if Myth was following him or not. He was focused on Sylvi and if Myth wanted to stay behind to wait for Bruce, then that was her choice.

The Ramblings were located on the other side of the Castle from the Palace and since it was Bonfire Night, the streets were more crowded than usual, slowing down their progress. Of course, people were giving Antonije and Sylvi a wide berth once they noticed the copious amounts of blood on her face. The entire walk, Antonije's eyes kept on going up towards the top of buildings, as if he was expecting to see someone there in the night. Maybe he was on the lookout for the vigilantes that roamed the Castle, afraid that one of them would return for Sylvi?

"We need to get rid of these marks," he told her softly. "Do you think your bardic Magyk can do it?" he asked. If not, they could always see if they could find a witch who would be willing to help them. He wanted to avoid Wizard Tower for obvious reasons - he didn't doubt that old Rowland would be able to tell who the Magykal signature on these marks belonged to. "And Sylvi, if you ever see a woman with yellow eyes...? I want you to run and hide, okay? Anyone you see with a cloak that isn't me, just go and pretend to be dead."

Halley Banner

Location: the Docks - the Port
Skills: Perception, Chaos Magyk
She squinted slightly as she tried to make out what the dragon boat was doing - and then sighed slightly. The dragon was just flying forward, as if a giant ball of fire hadn't just come out at them from nowhere. Halley didn't want to use her powers too drastically, preferring small and controlled uses - something that was practically antithetical to Chaos Magyk. Tilting her head from side to side, she then rolled her wrists and took a firm stance, looking up at the boat.

"Please step back," she asked her companions. Her eyes became filled with a blinding red light and Chaos energy swirled around her hands, as Halley lifted her arm and pointed her hand at the dragon. She then pulled her hand back towards her, uttering a command: "Land." Reality around them became incredibly hazy as suddenly, sitting in the water at the docks as if it had always been there, the dragon boat appeared. The dragon tilted her head slightly, confused as to who could have done such a thing.

Meanwhile, the demigoddess just wiped a bit of blood away from her nose. She didn't recognize any of the passengers. "Hello there," Halley greeted, as if they had just bumped into each other casually on a Sunday night stroll. "I believe you can assist us with an enchantment, if you don't mind."

Washington D.C.: September 9th, 2020 - 7:40 PM

Emma shook her head at Anastasia. "I wish I knew more, but such is life," she told her simply. She could understand that they were frustrated - she certainly was picking that up in spades from Jinx - but she knew very little more than they did with this situation. Her guesses right now were based on instincts and that wasn't how the White Queen of the Hellfire Club liked to make her decisions. Strategy required cold, impersonal logic.

Veil wished that they had a telepathic channel of sorts to communicate with, as Tome had a lot of questions. But with Jinx standing practically in the elevator as he went to greet Glimpse, she didn't dare make the noise of scratching a writing instrument against paper. The mistress of invisibility held her breath, trying to increase their odds of avoiding detection by Jinx. Of course, he wasn't the one to be scared of - that was Emma Frost. Veil recognized her and knew that she was a telepath. If they were lucky, Emma wouldn't detect the presence of their minds in the elevator, but then again, since when had the Mutant Underground been lucky? She could only hope that Glimpse was shielding them psychically.

Requiem's vocal hypnosis succeeded, causing Glimpse to take a seat on the couch despite her inherent resistance to mind control from her telepathy. Emma didn't seem to notice that there were invisible mutants in the elevator - though if she had noticed, would anyone be able to tell? Her facial expressions were enigmatic to the extreme.

"Jinx, dear, do fetch Miss Braddock a drink," Emma beckoned, wondering why the mutant had decided to go stand in the elevator. He was a little bit of an oddball. "Now darling, as Requiem said... Why are you here?" she asked. The evening was taking an interesting turn. She had to wonder if this was some ploy of Sebastian's.

Havok was on the side of the elevator furthest away from Jinx and he knew that Veil would be able to keep him covered. The sooner they were in and out of this place, the better - especially since he didn't see Sebastian Shaw anywhere. Moving silently surprisingly well, as if he had been born for stealth, Havok moved out of the elevator and spotted a set of filing cabinets to his right. That seemed promising, so he slowly crept over towards them. If people got talking loudly enough, he could potentially open them up and steal some files without anyone noticing.

The Purifiers were a ruthless invading force. Coming out from the training grounds, they took out several Morlocks without mercy, including Membrain. It was Membrain's abilities that concealed the entrance to the Morlock hideout and with the illusion gone, the Purifiers spilled into what had once been a safe haven. Including Blink and Glow, just six Morlocks were still in the hide-out awaiting evacuation. They were going as fast as they possibly could, but only so many people could run through one of Blink's portals at a time.

"GO!" Blink shouted at the remaining Morlocks, hoping that they would be fast enough to finish the evacuation. Glow sent orbs of light swarming into the air, hitting most of the Purifiers in the face and blinding them. She missed three of them however and those three opened fire on the Dancing Lights' creator - she was dead before she even hit the ground. Stray bullets hit the two Morlocks closest to Blink, ending their lives as well.

Tears were pouring down her face as Blink let out a scream as she tried to do something beyond her capabilities - to have two sets of portals going at once. She wanted to send the Purifiers far away, to the middle of the desert or something like that. Instead, the portal she threw at them cut them in half at the waist line, killing the invaders as their bodies dropped to the ground. Horrified at what she had done, Blink just stared, speechless. She had sworn to never use her gifts to kill - to never become like the monsters that made up her family tree.

"Oh, god..."

Back out in the tunnels, Sunshine was staring at the small, ash like remains of Erg with horror. Her first real family had been taken away from her by the Purifiers. And just as she was about to get a family again, they were slaughtered. Tears welled up in her eyes as she ran towards Erg's remains, shoving aside the pieces of scrap metal from the Sentinel. "No, no, no!" she shouted. "Regenerate!" she ordered, hoping that Erg secretly had that talent and would be able to come back from almost nothing.

He remained dead though. Charred pieces of him littered the ground and Sunshine's chin wobbled. She was trying not to cry - only little kids cried. She wasn't a little kid. She could take care of herself. She didn't need anyone... "You're not dead," she mumbled, curling into a little ball as she sobbed, mourning a friend she had only known for a brief time. This was her curse then - to have her family taken away from her over and over again. How was she going to break this cycle? What was stopping the Purifiers from always coming away and taking away her chances at happiness?

As for the brothers, Casper was barely conscious. He had already had one hand on his wound so when Jack took his other hand, he looked a bit like he was expecting someone to arrest him - he had his hands already behind his head. "Stay awake!" Ben kept on reminding him, but Casper was only able to mumble things in response. His phone still didn't have any signal as well, so he was completely unaware that Jinx was trying to sell him drugs at the moment.

Ward spat a bit of blood out of his mouth, glaring up at Jack. "Fucking mutie scum!" he shouted. He stumbled for a moment, before running at Jack and he punched him - only for Jack's elasticity to kick in and send Ward flying backwards. He was badly bruised, but the Purifier wasn't down for the count just yet. "I could do this all fucking day..." he muttered, getting back up to his feet slowly.

"Correct - you must only ring bell," Colossus confirmed. Even though he wasn't moving forward to attack them, only fighting defensively, he was still listening to all of their plans. His face was expressionless and neutral, but he was rather proud of them. Sometimes when people did this exercise, they never figured out what the point of it was. They just rushed in blindly as individuals, not understanding that at its core, this was a team building exercise. The only way to defeat a colossus was to trust and work together.

Even though Callie had hit him and gotten him to stumble, he largely hadn't moved from the one ~safe~ spot in the ice. Of course it wasn't ice at this point - it was incredibly hot and humid in Washington D.C., so all of the ice had melted and turned to water. There was now just a puddle in the training room which would still prove to be a hazard, but not nearly as dangerous as the ice had been.

Moonwalker nodded at James, just as they could hear Negasonic sarcastically go - "You guys are fantastic at this!" - and he then charged forward at Colossus. He grabbed Colossus' legs and tried to topple the giant, only for Colossus to shake his grip off. However, he was distracted at the moment - James would have an opening to ring the bell.

Waverley would intercept a nearby radio transmission - "Black King, we're on site."

Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Babylon Fortress, Cairo, Egypt
Skills: Alertness

Andromeda was not comforted by Gilbert's explanation - he was taking pleasure in all of this? She had to wonder how many times Siduri had dropped him on his head when he was a baby (were Emendators ever babies, though? Andromeda didn't know). Her frustration with him and Giouse continued to build, hopefully it would reach a plateau and level off but comments like that weren't helping anything. He didn't seem to understand the severity of the situation, especially since by his own words, he was enjoying all of this. The world, the universe, probably even the multiverse was ending and he was just excited to be there! If she was being honest, she wasn't just frustrated with Gilbert at the moment - she was disgusted by him. The novelty of the situation should not supersede the grave and imminent danger that all of reality faced.

She was relieved to see that Peter and James had returned safely - and they had even gotten clothes! There were just robes, so she was a bit disappointed there wasn't a head covering or something to keep her pale complexion from being exposed to the sun, but beggars couldn't be choosers. She grabbed a robe for herself and slipped it on. At least now, Gilbert wasn't openly talking about how thrilled he was that doomsday was approaching and she calmed down slightly. She needed to focus on the end of the world, not her irritation with the Emendators. And since time was of the essence, she followed Gilbert over towards the secret entrance, ready to go find some weapons to gear up with. She was ready for anything dangerous to pop out at them at any moment.

Virginia Crypt

Location: Gretna Green - Church
Skills: Deduction, History (Crypt Family), Biology, Pavati

Virginia observed the weapons that Millicent received and smiled with approval. While some people preferred to be gifted gold and jewels, she found that instruments of death and war were ever the superior a gift. There had definitely been times as a small girl that she had begged her father and mother for some new instrument of torture - insisting that it would be a family bonding experience - only to be told to wait for her birthday. "Dear Millicent, you are stronger than you could possibly know," Virginia reassured her friend. As the ginger and the blonde entered the Church, Virginia observed that Millicent seemed to recognize the pair. It could have been from any number of places, so she didn't make any assumptions as to how recent the acquaintance was.

She then saw something remarkable. As if the Dark Mother herself had decided to manifest within the confines of the Church, Virginia saw a specter appear with a scythe. Its dark eyes met hers and Virginia met the creature's gaze without fear. Death did not scare her - when she died, she would move onto another plane of existence and have even more adventures. She feared death only for her brother, as she wanted him to be able to grow and learn and thrive here on this world - to prepare him to step further into the darkness in the next. Virginia flinched slightly at the ungodly shriek, tempted to hold her ears but like a child seeing Father Christmas, she was transfixed. "Have you ever seen something so enchanting?" Virginia asked Millicent with a wide smile.

However, she saw Millicent's eyes going upwards and Virginia followed her gaze, seeing the monstrous thing up in the rafters as she pulled her axes, ready for a fight. It was obviously a supernatural being - it seemed to be the direct counter to the Ostanavlivat'sya that Elizaveta performed. "So much for idle talk," Virginia lamented. It was time to resume the fight. She ignored the person who wanted to leave the Church. In her experience, a creature like this would find them again - and where would they even run to?

Maeve Brennan

Location: Gretna Green - Church
Skills: Deasmhumhnach

She was moderately annoyed that Colette instantly interjected into the conversation, but Maeve knew she would have been annoyed too if Colette hadn't done that. Her job was to see to it that Colette located Millicent - and then to discretely gather what information she could to bring back to the Lady Kirkpatrick. "Aye, de Lady Kirkpatrick is well. I was sent ter accompany Lady Colette 'ere," Maeve told Millicent, forgetting for a moment Colette's surname. It then came back to her - de la Fontaine. Oh well, Lady Colette was sufficient enough for her. She doubted Colette would take an issue with it, since she seemed to be relatively down to earth, if not naive.

However, things were hardly calm. They had seen a horrifying sight on the way here and now there was a growl from the rafters. She drew her shillelagh, getting into a fighting position and ready to fight whatever came their way. The entire experience with the prayers someone was doing was unsettling to say the least and Maeve hadn't seen anything like any of this. It could have been some sort of dark witchcraft or something that was going on - it certainly was nothing she had seen when she trained in Ireland and she had never heard of anything like this. "What de 'ell is going' on 'ere?" Maeve demanded, a bit of fire in her eyes. She had a daughter to survive for.

While the others continued their conversations, Walnut was trying her best to pry off a piece of the cross section in the darkness - she did not share in Moss' luck. As she felt about, practically as useful as a blind old crone, she couldn't get a solid enough grip to pry off a piece. Each time she thought she had one, as she pulled up her hands slipped and she had nothing to show for her efforts. To say it was frustrating was an understatement. They had been trapped in this cold pit of darkness for what seemed an eternity and they were no closer to escaping than they had been when they started. People kept on saying things like 'oh I might have something that would help' and as far as Walnut was aware, that was the extent of the progress. People needed to do something - and to add insult to injury, as much as Walnut believed in taking concrete actions to get results, her actions were all for nothing.

She would have accomplished just as much had she just sat down when the lights went out - or if she had joined the stabbing victim in whining about having a plan. There was no sense in trying to pry up a bit of the cross section a third time, as that was the definition of insanity: trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. They needed a new approach but the chill was setting in and she doubted they had much more time before it would start to have ill effects on their health. With individuals like Dr. Swamp practicing medicine, Walnut was of the opinion that it was best to avoid a doctor at all costs. "I cannot get this blasted cross section off!" she snapped.

Cecily Ashworth

Location: The Asylum - Stairs -> Outside
Skills: Cool Headedness, Constitution

Cecily didn't really know what to do when Riley kissed her - she still wasn't even certain if physical expressions of love were something that really appealed to her. The hug she knew that she liked so she hugged Riley back and didn't say anything about the kiss, just grateful to have her roommate and close friend alive and well. It had been too long since they had seen each other and far too much had happened. If Riley died... It would break her heart. Riley helped her back up after she tripped and Cecily nodded, blushing slightly. "Just freaked," she admitted.

If she had been freaked then, it was nothing compared to the pure rush of terror she felt as a guttural roar sounded from down below. She wasn't about to argue with Alicia, perfectly content to move her ass as fast as was humanly possible as she scrambled up the top of the stairs, sticking close to Riley and Roy (in R names we trust?). The building was shaking like the Hulk was coming at them, the scent of smoke was becoming almost unbearably strong, and Cecily wanted to scream at the top of her lungs but it would have done no good. They weren't just in any comic book now - this one had a horror twist. She ran down the hallway Alicia indicated and out the building, hearing Roy's partner mention the word Destruere. Oh, that did not sound good at all. However, she was too focused on running for her life to want to pause and ask exactly what it was. The more distance she could put between herself and whatever that thing was, the better - and talking was just going to impede that effort.
