Virginia Crypt

Location: Gretna Green - Church
Skills: Nakai, Deduction

In all of the chaos, with the creature throwing the rather useless man backwards, Virginia recalled that Millicent had dropped her sword. She was never trained in the ways of the sword, but she would rather a weapon she had no experience with than no weapon at all. She had not come this far to allow Millicent to die - it was not yet her dear friend's time. Millicent would be able to greet dear Mary and sweet Mosi in the afterlife another day. There was still so much for her to live for and ideally, that life would be filled with joy and the antithesis of Rutherford. It didn't take Virginia too long to locate the sword and doing her best to keep from getting hurt in the fray, she managed to make her way over to it and she picked it up.

"This is nothing like an axe," she murmured to herself. She would just have to hope she got lucky - but she was confident that she had the Dark Mother on her side and more importantly, she had faith in at least some of these people here that they would be able to also aid Millicent and prevent this creature from escaping the church and wreaking havoc on the world. It wasn't too long before her thought was proven correct, as the combined efforts of the others forced the creature to release Millicent. She grinned, glad to see that. Elizaveta's work seemed to be going more or less smoothly, with the exception of the creature throwing her backwards but her resiliency impressed Virginia greatly. She would have called out to Millicent to inquire about her health, but there wasn't the time and she knew that Millicent was made of tougher things than most.

With her sword at the ready, Virginia then moved to strike.

Maeve Brennan

Location: Gretna Green - Church
Skills: Deasmhumhnach, Shuibhne

Maeve really had the luck of the Irish as she moved towards the creature and pinned down one of its legs, before striking it with her shillelagh. Of course, it wasn't her effort that ended up freeing Millicent, though that wasn't too surprising as she was not really sure if her efforts had amounted to much at all. Colette, the annoyingly nice woman she had brought all of this way, managed to land a decisive blow on the beast, freeing poor Millicent. There were nasty marks around Millicent's throat, no doubt from the creature attempting to choke the life out of her. It was probably fortunate that she hadn't lost consciousness, though Maeve didn't really have very many medical skills to speak of so for all she knew, Millicent could be about to faint regardless.

The Russian woman seemed to be making some progress, as things were glowing and white lights were happening - and this sounded pretty much like what the Russian man had told them would need to be done. With any luck, this would all be over soon, but it wasn't time to relax. She needed to keep on attacking this monster, in order to keep it from lashing out at the Russian woman and delaying this ceremony further. The sooner this monster was taken care of, the better as far as Maeve was concerned. She didn't want to know what would happen if they failed - she didn't care about the world as a whole, except for the fact that her daughter lived in it... So she would slay this thing to keep Roisin safe.

Guin Stark

Location: The Palace Grounds - New York (Guin's Outfit)
Skills: Telepathy
"It looked like it felt good," Guin agreed with Allison, thinking a bit about the scene in the Prisoner of Azkaban where Hermione punched Draco in the face. There was a similar rush from just seeing Wanda get decked by Allison. She wasn't really sure what this other world was like that Allison was talking about, but Wanda's behavior forced Guin to make a choice. She wasn't going to help a villain. Pietro spoke to her via the mental link, evidently refusing to take a stance of his own. She's already hurt me. Too late. Pausing for a moment, she then added a bit more gently: You need to decide, Piet. I'm giving you an out if you want one. If you want to go with your sister, I get it - she's family.

Guina, I love you both, but I really don't want to have to choose between the two of you... But if she did change the world, then I think we should change it back to whatever it was before...

Her hands curled into fists as Wanda put Pietro under her control again. "Bitch, if you have to control him then you've already lost him! He's not Pietro anymore, he's a goddamn puppet!" But her words were useless. The twins were gone and Oshea hadn't moved a muscle to stop them, despite being a speedster himself. "GOD FUCKING DAMNIT!" Guin cursed, kicking at the ground as hard as she could and sending bits of grass flying up into the air.

"I'm going to fucking kill her." Princess Wanda could be killed like any normal person, they would just need a way to shut down her powers. To do that, they would need to get an inhibitor and those were not exactly legal. The lab here wouldn't have all of the components, but they would have the items at Stark Tower for sure. Her nostrils flared slightly and Guin took a deep breath, focusing on the mental connection she had with Pietro. It took her a few tries, but she managed to free his mind from Wanda's influence. There was something fighting against her though. Pietro? Get back here!

What just happened? he responded, sounding confused.

Your sister is controlling your mind. Come back to the Palace now, it's harder to defend you at this distance.

...Uh, okay... After a few moments, Pietro raced back up next to them. He was still somewhat confused, and wasn't even sure what the hell was going on anymore. "...So, now what?"

Guin looked at Allison. "Your call, boss lady."

Dominika Novikova and Runa Blake

Location: The Human Resistance HQ - New York
Skills: N/A
Novikova was one of those who had asked for a new outfit, getting a nice kevlar stealth suit. She didn't see much of a reason in wearing anything else - since at least this would present her from being shot and killed. They weren't all bulletproof like Cass was with her dermal armor. "Thanks," she told Max simply. It was clear that a lot was being taken out of him, with all of the magic he had done that day. He seemed young, so she figured that he was just inexperienced and didn't have the reserves that more seasoned practitioners had. "So who would you rather go with - James' team or the other group?" she asked Maria.

She figured she might as well let her girlfriend pick - happy girlfriend, happy life right? James still struck her as at least mildly psychotic, whereas Max seemed to be a bit naive and bumbling. The real dividing line though seemed to be in the locations they would go to - New Orleans and then just here in New York. She didn't know if Maria would have a strong opinion either way, though of course in the end it wouldn't matter too much. The job needed doing, so it would be done. Barton had shot down the plan on invading and attacking SHIELD bases to distract Wanda, so Novikova didn't even give it a second thought. He was the highest rank here so at the end of the day, it was his call what they did. He seemed to think their best shot was to just amass a large force and move directly against Wanda and she trusted him to make the right decision.

Runa meanwhile also got a new outfit - a gorgeous black blouse with white lace, boots, ripped tights, and a frayed red skirt. The clothes were certainly different from what she was used to growing up on Asgard, but she really liked the fashion options available here. Most of the edgier outfits back home were just different variations on green and black, similar to what Loki and her cousin Hel would wear. From the conversations going on, the decision seemed to be that they were just going to recruit and then attack Wanda all at once. She bit her lip again, looking at Lance.

"When you have a moment, I need to talk to you - alone..." she requested softly. Max and James were on the New Orleans team, meaning that she was going to be staying here in New York for the recruitment drive. Either location was fine with her - she hadn't really been to New Orleans or New York in her real life and she had spent her fake life here in Norway and then Australia. It would be a new experience, hopefully one she could focus on to take her mind off of the inevitable demise of whatever affection Lance held for her. She took a slight breath, wondering what Klara would say about all of this. Her cousin always seemed to know what to say, especially when it came to matters of the heart.

Casper Theriot

Location: the Crown Room -> the Hallway - Baton Rouge
Skills: Mediumship
"Lying?" Casper asked, his eyes widening as he pressed a hand to his chest in apparent shock. He felt a slight pressure as she tried to enter his mind and he hoped that she hadn't managed to find or uncover anything interesting in there. He wasn't really sure how her powers worked, since he had no memories of her - she easily could have been a telepath like his father. "Also, stay out of my brain - please," he requested, after Marygold and Jack had apparently managed to smooth things over.

"I didn't know you had a brain," Ben teased.

"Ben! Rude!" Casper complained. Bobbi was being incredibly quiet and he wasn't sure whether to be concerned about that. She was probably just processing everything, since she apparently had just remembered the real world, and maybe her life was vastly different between the two realities. Maybe she turned out to be the mother of the little girl Jack was claiming was his daughter. Casper had to wonder for a moment what would happen to Lexi if they changed the world back to normal - would that kill her? Would she be erased from existence?

He then went out into the hallway, not really seeing anyone else out there. That worked for them - the sooner they got out of this place, the better. Of course, he wasn't that stupid. Only someone who had lied about finding the crone would just agree to leave the facility empty handed without trying too much. "Okay, so where should we look next?" Casper asked. He didn't know if they were just bailing on the mission entirely.

Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Babylon Fortress, Cairo, Egypt -> ?
Skills: N/A

Peter was gone - his resurrection seemingly rendered meaningless for now. She couldn't help but feel like it was a waste, but truthfully Andromeda didn't have much time at all to form thoughts about the situation. Giouse had opened a portal and promptly gone through it, as had Bart. She needed to get out of here or her death was likely going to be pretty much identical to how she had died the first time and she just wasn't ready to go yet. She had barely managed to do anything - she still had loads of unfinished business to attend to. If she died, she figured she would end up a ghost and be forced to haunt wherever she found herself... that wasn't the end she wanted. "I'm so sorry, James," Andromeda confessed quickly. "I really do like you."

She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, not wanting to do more or presume more - he was fading away, after all. There wasn't really anything she could do for him. If she stayed by his side, then she might end up fading away as well too. Maybe there was a way to save him but she just didn't know what it was and there was no way they were going to figure it out in the next few seconds, especially since one of the Emendators had seemingly written James off as a lost cause and gone through the portal. The guilt weighed down on Andromeda as she practically jumped through the portal, hoping that she wasn't jumping to her own untimely end... and that whatever was happening to James that it was at least painless.

Gene Benaszewski

Location: Athribis - Underground
Skills: Counterfactual History, Quick Study
Her favorite apparently didn't have any information on how to stop something like this. Gene cursed under her breath. The one time she welcomed the suggestions and input of this group and they had nothing. She honestly didn't know how much time they had at all, where to go, or if it would even work but she was in a position where all she could really think of doing would be to see if the Cards had anything in store for her. They had pointed her in the right direction countless times over the millennia, so why not now? "Oh, I wouldn't be bloody surprised if the Destruere caused this or just came to it like a moth to a flame," Gene muttered. There was no point in pretenses or trying to keep things easy for them to understand anymore. She had too much on her mind to bother keeping up the little game of make believe that she was just a psychic and this creature just a shadow monster.

At the very least, something finally popped into her mind. They couldn't stop this fade, just as much as when stepping through one of the Watch's portals you couldn't just change your mind and go somewhere else - you already went on through. It could have been that the haze was distorting everything, making it weird and hard to figure out what was going on, but she just wasn't sure. The pull to the other Emendators was now operating on a new axis, something that she found bizarre and Gene frowned slightly - had Gio and Gil decided to dig to the center of the Earth? She wouldn't have been too surprised if Gio convinced a Paradox to do it for a prank. "Where would you move to though? Everything's fading out... I don't think we can avoid this spell anymore, loves. It's too late for that."

Leda Storm

Location: Camp Half-Blood 2D -> 2F
Skills: Rainbow Manipulation

There was one teammate currently guarding their flag and while she knew that Tammy and the rest would be over with the Ares flag shortly, she didn't want to put anything to chance. She was too tired to keep on running and knowing Zeke, he would just put his leg out to try to trip her anyways like the little jerk he was. Gods, she hated the son of Apollo - it was bad enough that she had been forced to go on a quest with him ages ago! Some demigods became incredibly close on quests, yet that could not have been further from the case of what had happened with Kirstin, Leda, and Zeke.

She took a breath and her hands started to glow, as if her skin was made out of rainbow light. She sent a blast off at the two Ares team members, but it missed and just hit a tree. "That was a warning shot, bozos!" Leda boasted. She sent another blast, slamming into Bryan. She had mostly closed the distance between them and she sent off a third blast of rainbow light, narrowly missing Zeke yet again. Her aim was proving to be horrible today, probably from all of the energy she had spent carrying Kiera around as they ran across the field. "You might as well give up, we've almost got your flag back to our lines."

John Watts

Location: Serval Industries - R&D Lab
Skills: N/A
Watts was pacing the room as Evelyn arrived. He stopped in his tracks as she asked him how he was. It didn't matter what he was feeling. His eyes darted around the room, ensuring that no one else had come with her. "We don't have time for this, so let's get to the chase," he finally said, folding his hands behind his back. "I believe there is a chance Andrew - or at least his body - may be recoverable." Watts then walked to a drawer and pulled out a few magnets, tossing one to Evelyn. "I need your help using these on the floor of the lab. Collect anything you pick up - it may be Andrew in his suit."

He then crouched down, holding his own magnet a few inches off the ground as Watts slowly moved around the lab. At first, he didn't really find anything at all. Then he noticed something. Taking it off of the magnet carefully, Watts placed it underneath a microscope and peered down at it. It took him a bit to focus the image properly but there was no mistaking it - it was Andrew's helmet. There was no blood or sign of an explosion. Odds were, the helmet had been knocked off when he hit the ground. His eyes went back over to where he had found the piece with the magnet - it was right where Gardner had been, when she picked up those metal shards a month ago. "Take a look - his helmet."

Watts then opened up the drawer where he had kept those shards from a month ago, only to find that they were gone. His eyes narrowed as things fell into place. He didn't know why Gardner had taken the shards or how she had tricked him, but unless Evelyn managed to find more pieces of Andrew's suit, there was a simple explanation - Gardner had taken him. "She has Andrew."

The Hub - San Fransisco: March 5th, 1984 - 10:10 A.M.

"When would you rather I make a joke, Firebutt?" Raynor asked Flynn with a deadpan expression. Yes, he had agreed to work with Flynn on a plan that would prevent Sparky from ever going into the Quantum Realm in the first place and stop Ultron from taking over the world. The chaos and destruction the others were experiencing in 2021 felt so far away and for a moment, Raynor couldn't help but fantasize about trying to send himself to some safe date - 2016, for instance - where he could grab Sparky and take her far away from this horrible little planet.

Raynor had been about to rattle off the number for the Hub, when suddenly their surroundings shifted. Rather than being inside of the Baskin Robbins, they were in the midst of a busy, crowded corridor lined with gigantic pillars. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and scientists were hurrying from destination to destination, ignoring the group that had appeared out of nowhere. Strange was smirking slightly to himself.

"Sorry, I hate public transportation," he explained. Not too far from where they were standing, there was a phone and a directory. Most likely, the phone only made calls within the building but hopefully, they would be able to find Pym or Fury's number in the book if they looked through it.

"This was a lot quicker anyway."

"Now, Dr. Bautista, if you would like to call Dr. Pym or Mr. Fury, that would be wonderful," Strange said. However just before Niah would have a chance to, a little red kitten would come up to her and rub up on her slightly.

"... Fuck, is that Fury's cat?"

Stark Tower - New York: July 15th, 2021 - 9:50 P.M.

Unlike in previous instances, reinforcements for Ultron's legion came instantly. Another twelve drones made it inside of the building and the Hulk ran out through what had been the front entrance, grabbing drones and crushing them left and right like they were just bugs. Easily thirty drones swarmed the Hulk, obscuring him from view until all anyone inside would be able to see would be a green hand reaching up, before vanishing.

"I'll help him, you guys move on ahead!" Captain Marvel shouted, putting on her helmet. She was now sporting what looked like an epic mohawk as she burst out into the fray, killing as many drones in the faceless army as she could. Every now and then, those inside would be able to see a burst of light from Carol's power cosmic or they would feel the ground shake as the Hulk landed on more of his foes.

"HULK SMAAAAAAAAASH!"

"Yeah, that's the idea, big boy!"

The snowstorm was starting to die down, yet since it hadn't really slowed down the drones in the first place that didn't matter too much. The Scarlet Witch wrinkled her nose, looking at Maria with distaste. "I would rather die than marry a toaster!" she protested. Her eyes were shining red as she pulled the destroyed Ultron drones together, fashioning a rough barricade to make it harder for them to pursue them further into Stark Tower. After all, Ultron drones were built to destroy organic lifeforms and not each other.

Apparently, the Vision shared similar sentiments to Wanda. "Wanda Maximoff and I only share a twelve percent romantic and sexual compatibility." His systems seemed to be momentarily operational, as he shot energy beams at three of the drones and blew them up, destroying them. Wanda's barricade was holding, meaning there were currently just nineteen more drones for them to deal with - the rest of the drones were swarming Captain Marvel and the Hulk outside.

"Twelve percent? That seems a little high, spaceman," the Scarlet Witch protested.

The synthezoid destroyed another five drones, bringing the total to fourteen. "My calculations are not incorrect - our compatibility is precisely twelve percent. Yet when it comes to parenting, the number drops considerably..."

"Urgh, shut up!"

Goose still had the tentacles flying, ripping two droids apart before he grabbed a third one which disappeared into his mouth. There were just eleven left now to deal with. And since Abercrombie had moved towards the stairs, those eleven drones instantly went after her, not wanting to let her go up another step. Her calves would definitely be burning by the time she got to the top, as Stark Tower is ninety three floors tall - maybe they could figure a way to fly up the stairs in order to conserve energy?

Cecily Ashworth

Location: The Asylum - Outside
Skills: N/A

Tears were clouding her vision slightly, but even then she could still see clearly that Roy was gone. Nothing she had learned in school could change what had happened to him - and for all of her comments about how this was just like a comic book, she didn't know if this could be reversed. Some people stayed dead in books and movies. Roy could easily be one of them. "No..." Cecily croaked out. This could have easily been the "permanence" associated with the Infinity Gauntlet storyline - or it could have reality of Avengers Disassembled... She just couldn't know and it only made the pain worse.

She turned her head as Riley asked what was happening. Priya faded away, just like Roy. It was just Riley and Caesar there with her - but then in a moment, it looked like they were fading before her eyes. Everything around her was... crystallizing? No, it was more like glass. Her hands in front of her were vanishing and she didn't know how much time she had. She needed more time to tell Riley the important things - things she hadn't even truthfully figured out for herself yet. She didn't know why she had no interest in being with Riley physically, yet at the same time snuggling with the woman made her heart flutter like only a comic book or a chemistry textbook had done before. "Riley... I-I lov-"

But Cecily was gone before she could finish that thought.

Washington D.C.: September 9th, 2020 - 8:40 PM

Medical...

Emma Frost prepared an intravenous therapy line for Anastasia, preparing a drip of Wolverine's blood. The Hellfire Club was hardly the only organization in the world to have some of Logan's blood, especially given the extensive tests done on him in the Weapon X era, yet they were one of the few to use it for its healing properties. Inserting the line, the blood flowed down into Anastasia's veins and rapidly, her wounds began to heal themselves. "Do not fret, my dear, you won't grow claws - though I have no doubt you would make good use of them."

The White Queen took a seat down next to Anastasia's bedside, locking the doors with a flick of her wrist. Medical at the Hellfire Club Headquarters did not have soundproof walls, yet at the very least she could prevent them from being disturbed. Unlike with Requiem and Jinx, Emma had faith in her young protégé. "Our attackers were members of an organization called the Mutant Underground..." she paused, her eyes flickering towards the door. It was not safe to say this next part verbally, so she opted to speak to Anastasia telepathically.

"We are not going to kill them. Our plans for ascendancy... They require that the Black King falls. We cannot openly move against him, it would be suicidal - so Reeva and I have been subtly pulling the strings of the Mutant Underground, raising them for the slaughter... We need you to continue with your objective and once we leak the information to their spy, you will be spirited away and when we return, we will reign." She then telepathically brushed some hair out of Anastasia's face. "Your wounds should heal within the next few moments. I imagine you have more questions."

The Second Floor...

The kitchen staff stared at Jinx for a moment. The head chef narrowed his eyes slightly and the rest looked at him for a cue as to what to do. Jinx wasn't one of the leaders of the Hellfire Club, so they weren't certain whether or not they could just brush aside his demands. "Of course," the chef said with a fake smile. Once Jinx had gotten back in the elevator though and the doors shut, the chef motioned for his staff to come closer to him.

"Next time he orders food, add in feces or piss," the chef whispered. "And then spit on it for good measure." And unfortunately for Jinx, his phone call went to voicemail again. Casper wasn't answering his phone - at this rate, it was safe to assume that the drug addict was probably busy or had lost the thing.

"I wanted to just throw a tomato at him..." one of the younger workers grumbled.

The Penthouse...

Another thought would occur to Requiem - Glimpse's connection was to Sebastian Shaw. She had come there looking for the Black King. If he did not want to approach the White Queen about all of this, he could simply ask Shaw what Glimpse might have been looking into. It would at least be helpful to contextualize her actions, knowing more about her relationship with him and where she fell morality wise.

The Road...

Max was right - this wasn't how an X-Men like group behaved, for the simple reason that the Mutant Underground was not a superhero team. This was the first time they had ever done a mission beyond protecting mutants from being caught by the police or purifiers. They weren't professional heroes - they were essentially volunteers, trying to make a difference. Sure, some of them did have a background in superheroics (such as Colossus, Havok, and Sapphire) but most did not. Everyone and everything (including the computer) would be loaded into the car by the time that Sapphire got it running and it wasn't a moment too soon. Just as Sapphire floored it, the cops came into view, their sirens blaring as they began a high speed chase.

Havok was still unconscious, but Veil started to move her head slightly and slowly, she opened her eyes. "What the crap is going on?" she asked, a bit dazed and not realizing that they were being chased by the cops. The police cars hadn't managed to close the gap quite yet, but it would only be a matter of time. They were built to go at higher speeds than the car the Mutant Underground was using.

Thanks to Feedback, they didn't need to worry about the police coming and finding them, but they would need to relocate eventually. The building was not at risk of collapsing but their location was compromised. Mutant Underground protocol stipulated that since the threat was contained, they should wait until Veil and her team returned to the hideout. They would then move as many mutants as they could along the Mutant Underground network, before establishing a new hideout with those remaining behind to run the station.

Outside, all was well as Negasonic policed the perimeter. No one seemed to be coming to investigate the explosion and there were no reinforcements on the way for Magik and Vulcan. Taking out her phone, she called her girlfriend, Yukio. "Hey, babe. You got a minute to talk?"

Meanwhile back inside, Sunshine's stomach had started to growl. She was constantly eating whenever food was available to her, likely stemming from deep psychological issues. Food was never a guarantee so whenever it was there, she ate as much as she possibly could. Shoving her hands into her pockets, she felt the weight of Casper's phone and she tossed it at the drug addict now that he was awake. "Catch!" Her aim was perfect - it always was, thanks to her secondary mutation.

It was more of Casper's athletic skills that were to be desired as he fumbled the catch and the phone hit the ground. The case came off from the impact, but otherwise it was in one piece - it wasn't an iPhone or anything like that after all. "...Did you steal my phone?" Casper asked her. Sunshine only shrugged in response. Casper didn't even notice the phone buzzing with an incoming call.

"She took it when you were unconscious so it wouldn't fall out of your pockets - if you could even call those things pockets..." Ben informed his friend helpfully.

Blink paused for a moment. "There are miles of tunnels underneath Washington D.C. - we don't use too large a portion of them, but our location is ideal for observing the surface world... And it was, at least we thought, securely defended," she answered Spark Plug. She seemed to have a permanent grimace on her face as she tried to already come up with why the Morlocks had been massacred. Sure, she had managed to get a lot of them to safety but there were still the bodies of countless friends - people she considered to be her family - rotting in the tunnels now. She failed them. "I don't know why a powerful group would want to expand into the tunnels..."

Casper's eyes flickered over towards the pills that Spark Plug had set down, along with the radio. He wasn't really interested in gaining a new way to communicate with people - he barely used his phone as it was. But the pills, those interested him. He had just gotten out of rehab and he was ready for his first relapse, and of course, he doubted it would be his last one either. Hopefully he would be able to go over and grab them, he would just need to wait until everyone was distracted...

"Wait, so you're saying they killed Erg because he was ugly?" Sunshine asked Jack, wrinkling her nose slightly. "I could understand them killing Max over being fucking disgusting to look at but not Erg!" It was clear that she was still angry, though whether or not she was joking or just continuing to bully Max wouldn't be so obvious. Her eyes went over towards Jack's shirtless chest and she sniffled a bit. "Can you put a shirt on, please? No one wants to see that."

Colossus nodded slightly. Jack's theory made sense to him, but it was just an idea at this point - they wouldn't be able to know for sure until they got direct confirmation. If they were lucky, maybe Veil and her team would be able to bring back some information that would help - that or they could just extract some from Vulcan. He wasn't going to let anyone question his baby sister, she had been through enough. "Perhaps. I agree - let us question boy, he will know why they attacked us... and what they did to Illyana."

Vulcan was barely conscious, his head rolling from side to side. The extensive bindings done on him prevented him from moving, so if Moonwalker were to let go he would fall to the ground and hit his head. And as the delirious tend to do, the Sam Winchester lookalike started to laugh profusely. "Oh, like hell am I going to tell you guys what Shaw's planning!" he jeered.

Blink raised an eyebrow. "He's an idiot. That'll make this easier."
