Nancy finished swallowing a large gulp of her soda, before she picked up the teeth Niah had slid over to her. They were pretty gnarly to look at, reminding her of shark teeth. She turned one over, feeling it against her skin slightly. It was probably deadly or cursed. The smart thing would have been to put them in a pouch and bring them back to Camp Jupiter, where the Senate could decide on an appropriate way to either store them or dispose of them. Yet Nancy had never really been much for what was the appropriate thing to do. She gasped in annoyance, before gently punching Madalyne on the shoulder. "Ugh, rude! That was my idea!" Nancy complained.

"I was thinking, like, it'd be really rad to make them into bracelets. We could get, like, purple and gold beads - for Rome. And then spell our names and stuff... Maybe even put like a little river pendant on Niah's, something witchy on yours, and then the sun symbol or something on mine? With the werewolf tooth as the wicked centerpiece." She figured no one would really say anything if they overheard the conversation. The mortals would probably figure they were just really into some new young adult fantasy movie with werewolves in it.

Somehow, it made it worse that Zeke was being nice to her. She really didn't want to cry in front of him and Kristin, but she felt so ashamed. Right when Chiron had been chiding her for Iris Messaging and driving, they had gotten into an accident. It had been a stupid one too. She wanted to blame it on the fact that everyone drove on the wrong side of the road in America, but she had learned to drive here, not England. She couldn't help but keep on bawling as Zeke gave her breathing exercises to do, trying her best to catch her breath. Her face was still bright red from embarrassment, matching the hue of her pendant. Zeke managed to heal Kristin and she expected the daughter of Athena to give her a proper scolding. But it didn't happen.

The front of their car was smoking. There was no way they'd be able to drive it all the way to Texas. She got out, her hands numb as she went to confront the angry driver. She didn't know what she'd tell them. It wasn't like they had insurance - and they had stolen the truck. Yet as soon as she looked at the driver, her blood went cold. Another cyclops. "You bloody idiot wanker, you can't even drive a lorry proper!" Leda screamed, yanking down on her pendant and it transformed into her sword, Ultraviolet. She was still crying as she swung, trying to decapitate the monster, but she missed. On her second strike, she managed to hit the cyclops in the shoulder. The beast took a swing at her and missed.

Vinnie's brain was too focused on the horror scene in front of them to begin to process the fact that the ginger thought she looked familiar - or that people had found personal belongings in their room. Sure, she had found a pretty neat camera, but even that wasn't enough to pull her attention away from the zombie-robot the little girl was mutilating. She tried to cover her eyes with her fingers. She couldn't stop herself from looking though as Zarina pulled the jaw out, covered in the nasty green blood-fluid thing. "Holy shit!!" Vinnie screamed, her volume going up - as if she had to compensate for Cal also being loud. Yet unlike Cal, Vinnie couldn't stop herself from puking.

She got up and tried to stagger away from the rest of the group, before she promptly puked onto the ground. Her breakfast pastry hadn't even been digested yet, the little fluffy bits now soggy and covered in stomach vile. Vinnie took deep breaths, bending and bracing herself on her knees as she tried to compose herself. Someone said that they needed to come look down the hallway. The thought of having to step by the robot zombie seriously gave her the creeps. "M-Maybe it's like the Blair Witch Project... but zombie-bots..." Vinnie mumbled. She wiped her mouth clean on the back of her arm as best as she could.

The strong tanned guy, Raynor, wasn't disturbed at all by this. "Don't lose the jaw, kid, it might come in handy," he told Zarina. Maybe he had been some sort of mortician or something - or a homicide detective. The scene just wasn't getting to him, though he was a bit on edge due to the lack of memories. He didn't show it though. That was at least another clue to his life. He stepped over the robot and headed into the hallway.

"Oh god, oh god..." Vinnie whimpered, as she practically ran past the robot-zombie, her eyes shut until it was out of sight and she was in the hallway.

Nancy shook her head at Niah's apologies. "Don't sweat it, hun." Demigods messed up all the time. Abilities were weird and unpredictable at times, even with years of practice. Nancy gave Niah a smile, before unceremoniously shoving french fries into her face. "And don't worry about paying me back," she said to Madalyne. She had stolen the money anyways. It wasn't like she was being put out because of it. The food tasted amazing, better than the relatively healthy meals they had to eat at Camp Jupiter. Of course, the coffee shop in New Rome was always a good stop for a sugar rush.

"Mystiokinesis? That sounds like a drug. Ask your doctor if mystiokinesis is right for you. Side effects include spontaneous combustion, yodeling, and frolicking in the midnight." The commercials hadn't really changed over the years. Even in the Lotus Hotel and Casino, where they had been constantly entertained, the occasional advertisement would come on the televisions. Of course, even details about the casino were a little bit fuzzy. Her time there was a blur, feeling more like a couple of weeks or months she had spent there - not over thirty years.

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈

Location: On the Road - North Carolina
Skills: Driving (Car), Rainbow Manipulation

Leda was keeping the rainbow going, doing her best to focus on the road. Unfortunately, being a teenage demigod didn't make her a master of multitasking. She kept on looking over at Chiron and Rosie at Camp Half-blood, feeling nostalgic for the strawberry fields. She also couldn't help but smile slightly, thinking about her mother. While Iris hadn't said anything to her or shown herself, just the Iris Message going through meant that her mother was there, carrying the message. "Sorry Chiron, can't talk, driving," Leda told him playfully.

The car in front of them slowed down suddenly, about to merge into the exit ramp of the highway. Leda's reaction time was ironically too slow. The truck rear ended the car in front of them as Leda slammed the breaks, the airbags failing to deploy. The front of the car was pretty banged up, and while Leda and Zeke were lucky, the sudden change in momentum caused Kristin to bang her head pretty badly on the dashboard. The rainbow Leda had been projecting was gone and her face was burning up bright red as she pulled the car over to the shoulder, her hands shaking and her eyes were welling up in tears. "Kristin? Zeke? You g-guys okay? I'm so so sorry..." She wished she could have rewound time and not made the rainbow for the Iris Message. They'd have to deal with whatever mortal she had rear ended - maybe even the police - and it would just slow them down even more. "Th-the idiot should've known you don't slow down until you get onto the exit ramp," she complained, trying to find a way to make the accident not her fault at all.
Clio

Clio was trying her best not to snicker. She knew that this was an important mission, they were on pressing official Jedi business, but seeing a mercenary gungan in a cantina? It was just a little too much for her. She sat on her hands and bit hard on the inside of her cheeks, but that couldn't hide the amused twinkle in her eye and the irregularity of her breathing as she held in the laughter. "We can make it worth your while," Clio offered, amusement still clear in her voice.

The gungan didn't find it nearly as funny. "Do yousa think me am a joken?" he snapped. "Me no helpen jedi scum - and women shouldn't besa fighters."

Her eyes narrowed. The language was hilarious, but the message bothered her. There were some people in the galaxy that were hopelessly behind the times, doubting the capabilities of women. There was no reason a girl couldn't be a Jedi. Everyone was capable of doing anything they put their minds to, something Clio believed very deeply in. "Look, we need an audience with Rotta the Hutt. We can pay you to help us or I can cut your hands off with my lightsaber and force you to help us anyways. You've heard about the old Jedi Mind Tricks, right?" Her voice had a cruel intensity to it.

"Legends! Me know yousa're lying, girl!" the gungan scoffed.

"Oh they're not legends at all - they're quite real. The Force flows through us all, including you, and that means we can manipulate it to make you help us, gungan. So which'll it be? Money or force?"

The Hellfire Club Headquarters -

Polaris glanced at her phone and frowned deeply, before placing it back in her pocket. "I have to go," she told those present, before leaving the room and taking the elevator without another word. She didn't give an explanation as to where she was going, but that wasn't uncommon. Members of the Hellfire Club were not required to give a detailed itinerary of their comings and goings. Additionally, Sage had discretely bugged all of their phones. Every message went through her and everyone's location was monitored.

Speaking of messages, Sage scanned the text that Leighton had sent to Max. She discretely deleted it from her records without a second of hesitation. "Ice Queen has the target," she informed Reeva and Anastasia robotically. "Jinx is still at the mall. I'm not sure why they've separated."

Reeva nodded her head. She tapped her fingernails rhythmically as she thought. "Have Pyro tail them, please," she requested. "I'm afraid I don't have anything else to suggest for you, Anastasia. But I'm certain that you have a busy day ahead of you with important people to meet and greet, so I won't hold you here any longer. Be safe - and take a coat. It's rather chilly."

The Road -

Desiree and Leighton would be able to make it to a small strip mall without too much issue. There were a variety of stores there where they could find a place to talk. There was a nail salon, a Wendy's, a Chick Fil A, a Dunkin Donuts, a mattress store, and a UPS Store. The parking lot itself wasn't too crowded, but the snow was starting to come down hard, making it difficult to see the outlines for the parking spaces. On the bright side, Desiree's voice would (finally!) return to her.

The Mall -

The nurse running the First Aide room nodded sympathetically, grabbing a dose of ibuprofen and filling a plastic cup up with some water. "Here, this'll help with the pain sweetie," she told him. She had a name tag on, giving her name as WANDA. Unlike Jinx's (ex?)-best friend, she had freckles smeared all over her face and her hair was hidden by a hijab. The security officer on duty wrote down the description Jinx gave him, before handing him his card - it was just a generic one for mall security. "Give us a call if you remember anything else, okay, son?" he said. His name tag said PETER.

Veil and Sunshine

Sunshine huffed in annoyance. It seemed stupid to let Leighton and Max and all prance around perfectly alive and well. They had joined up with murderers, thieves, liars, and worst of all, the rich. The sooner those two were out of the picture, the better mutants everywhere would be. At least they were going to stop by the food court. Her hunger was just about the only thing as important as her rage. "Fiiiiine," she grumbled. Sunshine dragged her feet slightly as she followed Spark Plug up to where the vehicles were kept.

A sudden, sharp pressure filled Veil's head. Her initial response was panic as Tome's voice filled her mind. He had apparently connected her with Ice Queen as well. Even though he claimed he couldn't hear her thoughts or read her mind, Veil didn't trust him. She shut her eyes tightly, just in case he was going to try to sensory scry. Telepaths learned to do that back at the Xavier Institute. "One moment, everyone," she told those gathered around her.

Sapphire reappeared, as Veil stopped keeping her invisible. She was keeping her mental concentration on having her mind be blank, worried that she might betray herself or their location. She raised a single finger to those gathered around her, unaware as to what they were doing as her eyes were still shut. "Tome has established a magical connection with my mind... and Ice Queen's. He's asking if I know a world reshaped by the Scarlet Witch," she told her friends.

Sunshine stopped in her tracks instantly, doing a sharp about face. She had been about to go aboveground. She was frozen in the entranceway, before she made her way back into the training room. Spark Plug could wait. The Scarlet Witch had reshaped a world? Would that... Could that... She avoided making eye contact with Jack, not even acknowledging his greeting. Tears started to form in her eyes in spite of herself. "D-Do you want me to knock you out?" she asked Veil, sniffling as the tears began to fall, gross and heavy.

"I'm not going to acknowledge the connection," Veil said. "I don't trust them enough to speak with them this... intimately."

Casper Theriot

Location: Mutant Underground Hideout - the Second Floor Hallway -> Entranceway

Casper nodded, completely in agreement with Waverley. He couldn't believe that Max would send them a dead rat by accident. It was definitely a message, a threat that Max was going to come for them and decapitate them all while dressed in stylish corporate garb. James was far too easy and forgiving when it came to Max. "Have you ever seen those videos of Russian traffic accidents? That's what Max is - one big ass accident that'll get a million likes but god forbid you ever see one in person or it'll traumatize you," Casper argued. "Even if he didn't mean to send us a death threat, the fact that he's got reach into where we live, shit, and eat means that he could send a nuke by mistake next time." He wasn't going to bring up the next portion of his argument, not in current company. Max had been the one to kill Waverley's mom. What if he killed James' relatives next? Or Veil's undoubtedly extremely Canadian parents?

"I actually do agree with you on this one. He's like the Scarlet Witch... Just I'm not sure if he's crazier than her or not," Ben commented. He was walking along with James and Casper, trailing just a few inches behind him. He could have walked on ahead, but he hated passing through people. It felt weird.

Casper walked down the staircase, trying to remember what the last date he remembered was. He wasn't really a big person when it came to keeping track of a calendar. The last time he had done that was when he had been counting down the days until his first date with James. "Does the eighteenth sound right to you?" he asked James. "I kinda forgot that calendars were things until now, going to be honest...." his voice trailed off. He could hear someone crying in the training room. There were a lot of voices in there. It must have been where people were assembling for the mission.

Nancy's throat felt hoarse, like she had been gargling lava outside in the dead of winter. She hoped that drinking some fluids would help, as it wasn't quite severe enough an injury to make her want to dip into her flask of nectar. It looked a bit too much like day drinking anyways for her to want to try it in a public mortal space - with their luck, she'd be arrested for alcohol abuse. Nancy returned Madalyne's hug, coughing a little bit. "I did it for the food," she told them, her voice strained and weak. Niah had picked up the werewolf teeth and as Madalyne suggested making them into jewelry, Nancy decided something. Of course, the train was a bit more pressing. She could tell the other two once they were safely making their way towards Mount Rushmore again.

She took off at a run towards the train, noticing how it seemed to stop all of the sudden. Nancy gave the poor, confused mortal conductor a high five as she galloped onboard, her hair blowing behind her as she giggled. Figuring that Madalyne and Niah had to be right behind her, she did her job and secured them some seats again, flopping down into a window seat. "You two good?" she asked, her voice sounding a bit better but not much. "Feast time?"

Leda shook her head at Zeke's idea of using a cell phone. "No bloody way. Using one of those things is like giving all the monsters in the area a homing device - honestly, I don't get why anyone uses them," she snapped. Part of it was because in her opinion, Iris Messaging was the way for the modern demigod to communicate. But the rest of it was because each time one of them used a phone, it was like setting out a flare for all the monsters to see. It was too dangerous for demigods to use cell phones. While Leda owned an iPod, she didn't use any messaging apps and left it at camp - which wasn't that difficult as she was a year round camper.

She put her left hand firmly on the wheel of the car. They were on the highway which made it easy for her to go one handed. Her main job as a driver was to watch for cars merging lanes. Her right hand she rested on the wheel at a ninety degree angle, her palm facing Kristin. Leda concentrated and a fine rainbow emerged, the light harmlessly flowing from her hands. She was careful not to make it too intense, since that might end up burning the daughter of Athena by mistake. "There ya go. You got a drachma for Mum?"

✨ Rebecca Eventide ✨

Rebecca smiled slightly, hearing Andy and Arthur's conversation about breakfast foods. It was nice to see that they were relatively normal and well adjusted kids, even with everything they had experienced. It used to be all too common for demigods to die before they were twelve years old. Of course, her attention was then caught by Jason's tirade against Demetri. She mentally prepared herself to intervene with a spell or a curse - it was too violent for her tastes. She also felt a bit protective over the changeling. The children of Ares were insensitive and cruel as a rule. Though Demetri was a little bit overly dramatic when he said he would pray for Zeus to not blast them. The Lord of the Skies wouldn't do such a thing with two of his children on the Argo III.

"You impersonated Heracles and he achieved godhood, as well as marrying Hebe, the Goddess of Youth," she pointed out to Demetri to lighten the mood. She was assigned to the second rotation with Arthur and Jason, beginning in approximately five hours. She figured she would sleep after the shift concluded. That gave her five hours to do something she hoped to accomplish - begin Arthur's training. "Arthur, if you'd like we can begin some lessons now on necromancy - unless you'd prefer to go eat a muffin first," she told him. "Andy, you're welcome to come too - I can teach you to manipulate the Mist if you'd like."

"You know you're straight when being hit on by a gay guy triggers your accent," Leda couldn't help but quip with a giggle. It was an overreaction, but the children of Ares tended to be like that. Their father was all war and bloodshed, and they tended to be jerks who enjoyed picking fights for any reason at all. If anything, it was a little bit surprising that Jason hadn't done more than just shove Demetri. Some of the Ares campers would have run him through with their sword for that. Demetri didn't know that, but then again, he'd hardly been at Camp Half-blood before signing up to go on a flying ship to Camp Jupiter. "Hey, Sky Boy, the kids of Ares are like that. I wouldn't take it personally that they don't exactly appreciate comedy. And nah, if you impersonate a god, that's up to them to deal with smiting you. I'm too busy to go around doing that."

She also knew enough about the gods to figure that if she handled their dirty work for them, there was a not too small chance they would take their anger out on her instead. Gods were fickle like that - hardly more mature than toddlers at times. Zeke's father, Apollo, was one of the worst offenders in her opinion.

Her shift with Keira wasn't for about ten hours, so Leda mentally planned to try to sleep at some point before then. They'd be working with Lauryn and Andy, a competent team and people she enjoyed hanging out with. Leda quietly thanked the gods she hadn't been paired with Rebecca. Someone must have been looking out for her. "Alright, c'mon Katara, let's go see if my mum can do us a solid." She gave Keira a smile, before pulling her over to the edge of the upper deck. Leda pulled out a drachma. "So all you need to do is make a rainbow. You need to concentrate and make a fine mist of water. The light'll catch it and ta-da. Toss this drachma into the rainbow and say Oh Mum, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering. Well for you, say Iris instead of mum. She's not your mum."

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Location: New Rome - the Senate House
Skills: Prophecy

If she were to be sent to eternal damnation in Pluto's Underworld, Nancy was fairly certain it would resemble a meeting of the Senate. As a praetor, she was unfortunately required to attend them, pay attention to others, speak her mind, and take votes on issues. She hadn't entered Camp Jupiter wanting to gain the most important rank, but it had happened. She wished praetors were more like dictators. The bureaucracy was suffocating, even with a mocha from her favorite little shop in New Rome to help power her through it. Her purple praetor's cloak just felt weird, only increasing her urge to jump out of her skin or just start shouting and running around the Senate House like a maniac to alleviate her boredom.

Unfortunately, her day was about to get a lot more interesting.

The signs of an imminent prophetic episode coincidentally were very similar to those that harbingered a seizure. Her vision became fuzzy, as the entire world shifted out of focus. Her hearing faded away, leaving her completely unaware of what was going on - essentially, Jupiter could have come down from Olympus and she wouldn't have noticed. "Mads, it's happening," Nancy mumbled, as her limbs began to twitch and kick of their own accord. Like she was being controlled by a sadistic puppeteer, she drew her deck of tarot cards and unconsciously pulled a five card spread, as she was trapped in a vision.

New Rome faded away, replaced with a dark and dreary battlefield. The air was thick and heavy, pressing her down into the ground. It smelled like rotten eggs and farts. Nancy gagged, spotting the ongoing wreckage of a ship in the distance, but that didn't pull her attention nearly as much as those engaged in the fight. Her heart clenched in fear, seeing titans and giants and monsters facing a group of thirteen demigods - among them her best friends, Niah and Madalyne, and her mortal enemy, Leandra. The demigods were chained up in a shrine - a shrine to her father, Apollo, Nancy realized with a jolt.

She gasped as the vision ended, finding herself face to face with the five cards she had drawn, all from the major arcana -

The High Priestess - Reversed
Lovers - Reversed
The Hanged Man
Death
The Tower

"...We need to reconvene the Senate," she said, her voice shaky. She hated Senate meetings with a passion. She lived for the moment when they ended. For Nancy to use her authority as a praetor to extend the meeting time, it had to be serious - end of the world serious.
