frick this, I wrote a whole piece but apparently falling asleep while working on you laptop angers the RP gods, fot the piece I have written got deleted ( dunno maybe I rolled ontop of my laptop or such) T,T blooper of the day. I hope I can re write the piece tonight

@Ojo chan 42 How about the father tried to capture the kelpie but had iron on him, or something, and ended up killing her? Clyde is understandably upset, and he goes to drown not the father first but his adult daughter, since that will be a loss that will cut more deeply before he kills the man himself. Then the woman goes towards the sea and the other kelpie turns up, etc.

That would actually be a good reason for Elenore to get turned into a seasonborn and meeting Laira's father ( name still pending, it has to be a name something to do with water in keltic language, like all my names in this RP T,T)

I am going to re write this the moment i have some time, right now my main focus is on posting again as soon as I can with my lovley kelpie girl.

Clyde may have run from the iron as it can kill him but there is no reason that his sister despite the pain of iron couldn't still drown the man. Iron in any form doesn't have the power to enslave a fae. It merely hurts or kills them. I respect that you're deriving this from old legends and lore but that's not the way it works in LadyRunic's fae universe. If it was the blacksmith's foolish idea that iron crosses would work then they shouldn't have, Caoimhin would have killed him and either died herself of iron exposure or had her brother remove the bridle before it killed her.

Also I think you mean bridle, my sister rides horses and I know of no piece of equipment other than the sheath she keeps her weapon in that could be called a holster. Plus if it was placed on Caoimhin's head as seems to be the case it would be the bridle.

No no no they are not related at all. I think you misunderstood me, they are not related at all. I thought you ment the father of Clyde. But to awnser your question, indeed Clyde and Laira's father do not know eachother.

And bridle, thanks. I think i misread something (and cool, my sister also works with horses but blwe call a bridle a hoofdtuig or hoofdstel)

But @LadyRunic what do you propose I change about the past. I kind of worked really hard to write this story with all the folklore in the right place.

@Prince of Seraphs@Ojo chan 42@LAdyRunic Not sure if you want to go with crosses controlling them either, as that's a distinctly Christian thing and implies the existence of a power greater than the fey, and while it's loosely defined there's also a lot of extant lore on it. A proper iron bridal would actually probably kill a kelpie through prolonged contact, and certainly it'd lead to illness and poisoning.

Generally fey were captured for riches or wishes, not hard labor. I'm not sure why someone would, really. Also you could /kill/ the man, and that'd free Caoimhin, wouldn't it? I don't know why they didn't do that. Or curse him. Or something.

I think it's strange that Clyde trusted the human girl, but eh, Sini's done worse as a child. The whole negotiating for some /other/ fey's child seems a bit...odd, but *shrug* your chars. Though it's interesting that the kelpie who fathered Laira cared about the baby, but not the woman, and then left both...very sticky situation there. *grins* Should be fun to play with.

Interesting that Clyde and the father were both from Fall, but didn't know each other. Rival herds, perhaps, so they know only /of/ the others, but not their faces?

oh they know eachoter, but his fater left the herd to make it easy for his son to take over the her. he did not want to fight him for the position of stand in leader.

Crosses and religous artifacts do not affect Fae. The Fae are beyond the bounds of religion and as Falk says...

Crosses cannot affect Fae, the only thing that could would be promises of binding. Iron would burn painfully and KILL Fae. Especially young ones, easily.

thats is why i made the cross iron, it may have been the mortals foolish believe that a iron cross would work. that why I wrote fleeing from the iron. and the thing with a holster with crosses, I based this of the ledgend of a laird ( lord) who captured one making the kelpie slave away. The only way to capture a kelpie is with a holster that has crosses stamped in the leather.

EDIT: and the man who did this was Elenore's father, Laira's grandfather.

Position/Occupation: Bit of a loner, stays away from the court and its rulers. Stand in Leader for a herd of Kelpie, Roaming the Fall Lands.

Personality: A trickster by nature with a silver tongue. Once he sets his eyes on something he will obtain it no matter the sacrifices. He cares for the ones he loves in his own way, and has a hard time expressing his feelings. He takes great pleasure in drowning humans, but has a weak spot for pure tears.

Appearance: A long man, with a pale complex which compliments his dark hair and hellish blue eyes.

Mother: Erwyn - Last leading mare of a Kelpie herd in fall - Dead.
Father: Calder - Left the herd after the death of his wife
Sister: Caoimhin - Dead
Elder Brother: Garnock
He sees himself as Laira's fiancee, something he decided on his own accord.

Ambition: To have Laira find him in the Fae world. He won't make it to easy for her for she has to prove herself worthy in his eyes. His ultimate goal is to have Laira take the place of leader of the herd, for his herd is now without leading mare, with him by her side.

Background: In his youth Clyde had always belonged to the herd, running with his father and brothers around the rivers of Fall. The herd was lead by the single mare the herd had, his mother. They rejoiced when a new mare was born, his little sister Caoimhin. When he was around seven hundred he and his sister ran around the hills in the human world, wind in their manes. They did this ever so often, and enjoyed every second of it. Everything seemed to be fine until a man approached with a bridle. He had seen the pair of Kelpie run around his hills and wished to capture one of them. Full off themselves Clyde and Caoimhin let the man come close. Caoimhin as adventures as she was walked towards the man and lowered her head, inviting him to place the bridle on her head. She believed she could drag this man to his death as she has done so many times before. The man put on the bridle with a grin, and Clyde realized something was wrong. He charged at the man who pulled out an iron cross to make Clyde yield to his will. Caoimhin Struggled but it was to late, the bridle had crosses stamped onto them, making her unable to defy the man. Forced to flee from the iron, Clyde returned to the herd and explained what happened. No one could help his poor little sister now that she was captured by this man.

Clyde had to watch as his sister slaved away, pulling heavy carts. His hatred for humans grew and grew, for one tiny exception. The young daughter of the blacksmith who captured his sister. She cared for Caoimhin, brushed her hair, braided them. One day he approached her, telling the little girl that he was the brother of the horse she always cared for. The girl introduced herself as Elenore and to Clyde's surprise she started to braid his hair as well. Clyde tried to convince Elenore to set his sister free but she couldn't defy her father. She promised him that she would take good care of his sister so he could go back to the fae realm with ease. He trusted her on that and went back, taking back his place in the herd and running around.

Ten human years went by and Clyde decided to go and visit the now grow up Elenore and Caoimhin. When he arrived at the blacksmith's land he found a single grave marker near the water pond. However it did not belonged to Elenore, it was unmarked. With a loud neigh that echoed though the hills he made his presence known and the blacksmith's family rushed outside. Elenore looked with big eyes as she realized Clyde had found out that she could not have kept her promise. Angered by the death of his sister he grabbed the blacksmith and drowned him in the pond.

Once he resurfaced for the rest of the family he saw they had scattered. He choose to go after Elenore, for she would be next. Elenore ran and ran towards the sea, knowing she would die too if Clyde got to her. Clyde did not understand why the girl would run towards the sea, something he would find out very soon. From the waves another Kelpie emerged, black like him. The new Kelpie ran towards the girl while transforming into his human form embracing her into a tight hug. Stunned by this Clyde took on his human form as well for the first time, and tried to talk to the other Kelpie. As he explained the situation the other Kelpie only pulled Elenore further behind his back. Clyde took pity on Elenore and promised her she could lead a peaceful life, in return for her firstborn. The other Kelpie immediately agreed with this while Elenore began crying and sobbing, begging him not to. Clyde turned his back on the couple reminding them once again that their first born child would be his.

So said, so done. When a child was born two years later he came to claim it. He found the Kelpie had left, but had changed Elenore in a seasonborn. The child, a baby girl was born a Kelpie. Seeing Elenore heartbroken and emotionally hurt, he again took pity on her and walked out the door leaving the words. "I do not mention when I will come to take her, perhaps next month maybe in twenty years. Who can know?"

This is an OCD thing but this is the same CS with the spelling mistakes repaired.

There's several things I could say but it's probably polite to give LadyRunic first comments.

thanks for fixing the spelling, I still have trouble with english (why does my main language have to be so different T,T) And please do give me you opinion. like I said this char is still open for modifications, that's why I posted it way before I am planning to use him. I want to make sure I make a char good enough for this RP, for I am enjoying this RP way to much.

Now my human disease filled girl can wipe out the entire summer fae with just walking around ( kidding kidding) I think it will be most interesting for my girl to stay in summer for a bit before she goes to fall, for Clyde is a fall Kelpie ( oh old lovers...) maybe later I will have her sneak into he fall court to steal a map or something... dunno, she loves to get into trouble :) ( At least I love to see her get into trouble )
