Founding Five

Superman - He's the first superhero. The reason it's even called a super-hero. His career seemingly began in the 1970's, however reports indicate he may have been active as far back as WWII. Same basic powers of Superman. He makes everybody in the room wanna stand a little bit taller. A big blue boyscout to this day, he has a line he'll never cross and ALWAYS finds another way. He's pretty much the big gun of the metahuman/alien archetypes. He's only been Clark Kent the last twenty years or so of his life on Earth. He obviously ages slower in the universe than past incarnations. Recently killed fighting the monstrous Doomsday. - Deceased

Batman (mask off) - Same billionaire playboy philanthropist, his career just began in the late 90's and has lasted nearly two decades. He is to the gadgeteers and standard human heroes what Superman is to metas and aliens. The big gun. Basically picture Ben Afleck's Batman here just with more gray hair. It was recently revealed Batman was replaced with a shapeshifting white Martian during the Trident of Atlantis episode. He's guilty of the murder of Ravager as well as sabotaging the Metro Tower, and more recently attacking Polarity Man. - Status Unknown

Green Lantern - Alan Scott is the resident GL, and the ONLY GL in this universe. I'm staying away from the GLC and all the rainbow brigade Corps. His career stretches over the last decade or so and a few years back he absorbed the energies of his magic ring internalizing his power. He's the big gun of the supernatural/magic archetypes. He's also based in Gotham and mostly patrols during the day when Batman isn't being Batman. Green Lantern retired after finding out his reformed enemy turned fiancée Thorn was pregnant with twins. - Retired

Robotman - Cliff Steele was once a racecar driver and adrenaline junkie. He jumped out of planes, served two years in the military, and was even a bouncer on a cruise ship for several months. It was to no surprise to anyone when he finally went too far and crashed an experimental NHRA racing car. His body was near completely destroyed, which is when his friends at STAR Labs Dr. Niles Caulder and Silas Stone put his brain into the body of a machine. Still ever the enthusiast he decided superheroics were in his future and took the alias Robotman [he wasn't very original]. He was a hero of Midway for several years before joining the other founding five in the Justice League. In the battle with Despero his brain was destroyed, thus ending the career of Robotman. - Deceased

Vixen - Mari McCabe was born in Africa and possessed the magical Tantu Totem. This is a magical artifact, supposedly passed down over several generations from mother to daughter, and is the source of her power. Giving her the ability to mimic the attributes of any animal on the planet, Mari used this power to protect her village until moving to the United States and going to college. After graduating Mari was offered a modeling contract with an agency in NYC. Getting lost in the spotlight and fame, she was eventually reminded of the power and responsibility and publicly came out as the hero Vixen. After joining the JL for several years, her life was snuffed out when the behemoth Despero used his immense strength to crush her under the weight of a destroyed skyscraper. - Deceased

The Justice League had been active for several years. Their membership included Superman, Batman, Vixen, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), and Robot Man. Most of them were already in their 40's, Batman was rumored to be in his 50's. The team took down threats such as Brainiac, the rogue General Eiling, Solomon Grundy and an army of the undead, a Thanagarian Cult, and dozens of others. Later in the team’s career, in a battle with the alien tyrant Despero, both Vixen and Robotman were killed in action. Robotman COULD have survived, but the three eyed behemoth crushed his head and destroyed the original brain of Cliff Steele.

One year ago...

The Justice League extended its reach and took in several new heroes to form the Justice League Unlimited. Over the course of the first several weeks the League learned about the existence of a similar group, composed of super criminals, calling themselves the Society and brought together in secret by the devious Lex Luthor Jr. Shortly after the Society made itself known, the Question deduced that the super criminals were after artifacts composed of a mysterious Nth metal. During a mission that saw a group going to the destroyed remains of Atlantis, Ravager was seemingly killed by an unseen attacker and left for dead. Her father, Deathstroke, would later abduct her from JLU headquarters to help her recover on his own terms. Bulleteer would also be attacked in Metropolis and taken out of action after taking trauma to his head after the enemies of the League were informed by Lobo that his helmet was composed of Nth metal. Ambush Bug was killed during an attack on the League's HQ, and the heroic Clayface was torn apart as well.

Over the course of the last year the League would continue to evolve. Superman would be defeated and killed by the monster called Doomsday. Green Lantern retired after finding out his reformed enemy turned fiancée Thorn was pregnant with twins. And Batman has seemingly been replaced by a white Martian with his actual whereabouts unknown.

Present day...

The League still moves forward, even after everything the members have been through, protecting the world from dangers. Team members continue to come and go as they have always done. However, some unknown entity or force has taken it upon themselves to tamper with the very fabric of reality altering the universe itself.

This RP is something of an experiment because of the large cast, episodic adventures, and out-of-this-world scenarios. It is EXACTLY what it sounds like. The JLU from the cartoons of days gone by fully realized in role player fashion in a new universe, and I do mean "new" because the universe from the last RP has been altered by an outside force conspiring with other individuals similar to the current DC Rebirth era. If there's enough interest and returning players we'll get this going with myself and nine players and move forward. You can play as a cannon character, be based on cannons, or make a complete original within the DC universe. I'm not basing this thing on any single continuity, and much like my other games I'll just take bits from here and there to make the most entertaining RP possible. The only cannons off limits are Superman, Green Lantern, and Batman. If you wanna make your own Red Tornado or a new Vixen have at it. A new Flash? That could be cool too. Use whatever cannon you'd like, it's only unacceptable if I say it's unacceptable. Just don't make any characters tied to huge events in the comics like Blackest Night or Zero Hour and we should be okay.

I’ve kept some of the continuity from Season One but I’m leaving everything else vague from here on to free up any characters or concepts that may not return. This will still be in-continuity with the last RP, but going into Season Two this time I’m gonna trim the cast down and only have two episodes going at a time after the opening episode. For those of you unfamiliar with the episodic format, the cast will be divided regularly so that the missions aren’t as convoluted as they can sometimes get with a large cast. The opening episode will now feature all ten players. Episodes Two and Three will each feature five players. Episode Four will have all ten players, and then the next two episodes will have new teams of five players… etc. This is meant to make it easier to build relationships with the other players during the smaller team episodes.

As far as GM'ing goes I feel like I should mention I'm the type to give players a bit of freedom. Players can control the enemies to a small degree and if there's any problems they can be addressed. A line or two of dialogue from an enemy and letting them take a few hits is perfectly fine in a post. Just make it interesting and in line with what's been established as the setting. If there's any questions about the enemies we're facing you can always ask about power levels, attacks, weaknesses, etc. This RP is one big collaboration after all. The same basic rules from the last game will still be in effect, just with the altered episode format.

The Character Application will be a bit different since there will be several players returning to this one. Since most of season one and the opening of season two is cannon to an extent [remember the universe has been altered now!] there will be a couple bits on the CS that are for the returning players only. The Sample Post portion will also now be given a bit of a theme for you guys to run with and even I’ll be writing a new Sample Post.

Everybody's not gonna make the cut. Where in the past I've had three and four episodes going at once, with my current work schedule I just can't do THAT much GM'ing, even with a Co-GM. And when the roster is 12+ members there always seems to be three or four players who get lost in the shuffle. The idea is to get a solid cast of ten players total (that's nine plus me btw...) who can make posts at minimum once every ten days without constant hiccups and scheduling problems. When people join RP's and then go silent without reason and ignore @ tags and such it can be a complete turn-off for some players caught up in a scene. That's exactly the thing I'm hoping to get away from. There will be a few returning players from the previous game but even they'll need to rework their CS's a little. Still, I hope to find a few more individuals looking for a good superhero themed game.

Generally I try and keep contact and collaborate on posts with other players on piratepads as well as Discord more recently so I'll likely throw up links for those once this gets to the starting line. If you don't like collaborating with others, have diva like tendencies, or generally are disrespectful on the regular... this isn't the game for you. If you're known for writing up killer character sheets then never do anything in-game... this isn't the game for you. Serious commitment is what I'm looking for, since currently this is the only RP I'm focusing my time on. I'm not saying nobody else can have a life or be in other RP's, just don't forget about this RP. Respect other players and respect the game and everything will be peachy. Or some other type of fruity awesomeness.

"Guy's?!" called out the now barefooted blonde in the lobby of the Metro Tower.

Shadows moved and swirled like something out of a cartoon. The man of living darkness shaped himself in ways that would truly haunt a person if they could only see him coming. As the heroic female in her civies tried making her way deeper into the HQ she was startled when a man bumped into her. It was the young hero Vibe also trying to find somebody with a clue as to what was going on.

"Hey!?" he said out loud before tripping over his own foot and falling to the floor."What in the heck's going on? I bet the guy without a face would have a few ideas..." Vibe continued to comment picking himself up and waiting for the barefoot girl to respond. However, from the corner of his eye Vibe noticed a shadow move and turned to blast it with his strange energy.

"We're not alone, Apollex!" he yelled before a shadow tendril grabbed him from the darkness and threw him like a ragdoll across the lobby and into some statues of Vixen and Robotman.

The generator room below the back end of Metro Tower was currently occupied by three heroes. The Blue Beetle, Champion, as well as the Lizard were looking into the power outage. The lights were out save for the red emergency lights and the exit signs. The whole thing felt like a horror movie. The generators themselves looked like a few school busses sitting side by side they were so massive. It was what younger members assumed batteries would look like for giant Japanese mechas like in the cartoons. Beetle came in a little late to the party and missed the thunderclap.

"What happened? What was the quake about?" Beetle had asked, but before anybody could answer a spark shot up through an outlet on the wall and shot back towards the already damaged area. It grew larger and eventually the villainess Livewire came to life in front of the heroes.

Ted felt a sudden tigntness in his chest as the light took form. "Holy hell!" Ted exclaimed as he stumbled backwards and fumbled for his gun though he didn't know how much good it would do against the lady of pure electricity.

"LET'S PLAY BUG ZAPPER!" Livewire screamed firing bolts of electricity at the three heroes before teleporting through another wall outlet. She bursted out of an overhead light and caught Lizard with a solid dropkick before bolting through the air again to dodge the would be attack of Blue Beetle.

Finally getting his fingers on his BB gun, Ted fired a strong gust at Livewire only to miss. The frantic hero had to wait as his gun compressed enough air to fire again but in the mean time he loaded up his grappling hook in the hopes of grounding the glowing sack of energy.

As it was in the rest of the tower, the fortified panic room was quiet and dark. Perhaps moreso, what with the thick steel walls and claustrophobic spaces.

"I appreciate the gesture, Lieutenant, but I'm hardly defenseless." Bruce mused, a mixture of his trademark annoyance and a dash of bemusement evident in his voice as he entered in behind the mecha-less hero "We should probably be looking for your teammates."

"And I appreciate your sentiment as well, mister Wayne. However, League protocol dictates that we put the safety of civilians as our number one priority... Besides, I doubt a power outage is much to..." the radioactive man began to reply, turning around to be met with what appeared to be the shapeshifting arm of Bruce Wayne.

"You should rearrange your priorities, human." the would be Bruce cut him off and stabbed through the hero's stomach while nobody was around, similar to how he had killed the Ravager. He phased through the entrance to the panic room and took the form of the Question.

"Did you retrieve the weapon?" the alien spoke telepathically to the Shadow Thief.

Back in the lobby...

"Of course I did but I'm a little preoccupied at the moment!" Shadow Thief responded dodging another energy wave attack courtesy of Vibe.

@BlackSam3091 I figured the reasoning could've been cause Bats is getting older while Tiger is still in his prime. And cause you know... VIBRANIUM!

It'd be interesting if Batman was somewhat inspired by the Panther legacy of Wakanda in this universe. But I haven't been accepted, and I don't have any say over Batman...

I DID notice you guys were using the 'League of Shadows' as Ra's force of badasses, so I can use the 'League of Assassins' in a different manor if need be. There's also the Council of Spiders introduced in the Red Robin comics I could use instead if needed.

🐅 C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

This take on DC's Bronze Tiger is changed up in a way to integrate him into the cast of Black Panther and the nation of Wakanda to add a little more flavor to the whole concept. His new origin involves Prince T'Challa being crippled, Shuri (sister of the mainstream Black Panther) taking over as the Black Panther as she's done recently in the comics, and 'Tiger trying to find his place in a world with every type of hero and villain running around. Bronze Tiger's time in the Suicide Squad will be left out however his being a brainwashed instrument of the League of Assassins will have recently happened. As well as going at it in hand to hand with Batman and besting him.

🐅 Plots and Story Arcs:

- 50 Shades of Bronze:

The opening arc will deal with recently being brainwashed by the League of Assassins and returning back to Wakanda. Turner will suffer from slight PTSD, and it will show in the field protecting the city as well as interacting with Shuri (the new/current Black Panther). They'll both deal with enemies such as Barricade and Carnivore. Ben's fifty shades of messed up. Things get even stranger when Baron Macabre rolls into town raising the dead.

- Way of the Fists:

After Shuri insists she can protect Wakanda on her own, Ben travels to China to meet an old friend when he's caught up in a fight with a man who can become seven individual versions of himself. The man known as Seven Deadly Brothers was once a hero in the late 90's and early 00's in the Chinese superteam the Great Ten. He was now washed up and resentful of modern heroes. After the Chinese superhuman puts lives at risk trying to stop a rampaging Godzilla like creature in Hong Kong, Ben challenges him to one on one combat. The man only knows seven forms of martial arts and Ben's one of the best fighters in the world.

- League of His Own:

After the adventure in China Ben Turner lands back in America. After visiting Louisiana during Mardi Gras season, he settles down in St. Roch. Famous for being the last place Hawkman settled down, it's now infamous for some of the his enemies who survived since the winged hero's demise years earlier. How will the Bronze Tiger contend with Lion-Mane, Bloque, and Hummingbird? And who else will come to town to give the hero an assist?

🐅 N O T E S:

* Ben has roughly 4-5 years experience since coming to Wakanda. He was under the control of the League of Assassins for the last seven months and bested Batman twice before the caped crusader helped Ben break free of the League's mind controlling drug.

* Ben studied karate, kung-fu, Greco-Roman wrestling, Krav Maga, and kickboxing between the age of nine to twenty before moving to Wakanda. Since being trained by Prince T'Challa's father, King T'Chaka, Ben has studied in three forms of Wakandan martial arts including the Panther and Ape styles as well as the Tiger. During his time under the control of the League of Assassins he studied at an alarming rate at least another half dozen fighting styles.

* When deciding on a code-name for himself Ben considered White Tiger, Red Lion, Coal Tiger, and the Puma.

* The scar across his face came from the day he stepped in to save the life of Prince T'Challa. After the enemies were taken down, Shuri mistook Ben for another enemy and slashed him with a blade before he disarmed her.

* His suit is made of vibranium mesh and the retractable claws in the fingers are solid vibranium.

* Ben went to college in America for medical studies from the age of 17-20 before moving to Wakanda.

I dabble with both DC and Marvel stuff implanting 'Tiger firmly into the realm of Wakanda before bringing him back to the 'States to face off against some old Hawkman rogues in Louisiana. Already discussed some of the stuff with @Lord Wraith.
