In the year 1991, nine individuals from around the world were taken and given cybernetic enhancements by a man named Dr. Henry Wells. Working for the United Nations, in an attempt to create soldiers capable of bringing about the end of the USSR, Wells too was kept in the dark about the people behind the experiment. The Skull, a scientist in a skull mask who was reportedly working with the USSR, was also revealed sometime later to ALSO be working with the mysterious group who orchestrated the birth of the Cyborg 00 experiments. To the extent he even gathered the majority of the 'volunteers' himself.

The year is now 2018 and the nine cyborgs have all had twenty-seven years experience under their belts. Some of them went back to trying to live normal lives during the 90's. Others just plain couldn't. Over the years every so often a few of them would team up to take down some insane threat to the population be it giant robots, monsters, terrorist cells, or mutant psychos.

Now Dr. Wells has been sought out by a mysterious gray haired cyborg from the future, designated 050, to bring the team together again to stop some sort of new cyborg hunting cyborg. With the ability to absorb the others as well as their unique abilities, the cyborg-hunter called Adam made his first cyborg victim the man from the future. Now with the power to become ten of himself, can the combined power of the 00 Cyborgs defeat this new threat to global security? And who's the new guy in a mask claiming to be the same Skull who helped the Soviets?

This is it. My Cyborg 009 themed role-play where we completely take the 009 concept and put our own twists to it like every other 009 series has done in the past. I have no idea who will make it out of this RP alive, or where we could go beyond the opening arc with the cyborg-hunter called Adam.... but both are up for discussion as well as everything else dealing with the 009 concept!

The premise is still the same. Nine cyborgs with spiffy suits complete with cool yellow scarves protecting the world from only God knows what. After reading up on a lot of the history of Cyborg 009 I tried coming up with an enemy unlike anything they’d faced. The inspiration for Adam came from the popular Dragonball Z character Cell.

Accepted Cyborgs go ahead and repost your Character Sheets in the Character Tab! If anybody has any ideas beyond the opening arc with Adam feel free to share and bounce ideas off of each other. Let me know if you want a microhero avatar of your character like mine!

@Omega Man So the other 3 CSes you didn’t address at all just... don’t exist? Or are they not approved? Because you didn’t say anything about them one way or the other and nobody else has shown interest in this game in over a week.

I mentioned before I had a couple CS's sent through PM's. It's been long enough though and while I was *really* hoping this one poster would finish up his WIP, it looks like you guys and gals are getting restless. Had the two other players finished CS's I would have two spots to fill with five applicants. With only three applicants I think I've already got my mind set on two in particular.

So, is that to mean that the, what, three applications not approved are declined? Because it would be polite to be told such so that, at least in my case, we're not waiting nervously to hear one way or the other.

None of them were declined and everything was submitted with the requirements I asked for. Of the three sheets, 003 and 008 have been accepted into the ranks. So yourself and @Zero Hex can count yourself among the cybernetically enhanced!

"Hey man, have you seen Supergirl around yet?" Jimmy asked the Atom while holding his golden helmet in his right hand.

"I believe she's always the first one to show up at these meetings, James." the Atom replied. He was a few years older than Jimmy and a science guru with tech, engineering, and anything involving dwarf stars.

"Atom... it's Jimmy. My mother doesn't even call me James..." Jimmy replied walking away towards the meeting hall.

Jimmy still felt out of place at the Tower. Aside from the Question everyone else possessed powers, insane technology, or trained with Batman. He had an unbreakable Kryptonian shield that was hidden in his closet for months before he ever put on a costume. What if Supergirl wanted it back and was just being nice? His mind was all over the place until the electronic sliding doors to the meeting hall opened and Jimmy's eyes locked on to Lara talking with the masked Kitsune. The staggering amount of thoughts came to a halt and his mind turned to mush. Just like in high school he got choked up and had problems forming sentences around her. Martian Manhunter phased through the wall and touched on what Jimmy was feeling mentally.

Before Jimmy could even attempt to walk past Supergirl and say a one syllable word like 'hi' something came crashing down through the top floors of the Tower. Everyone hadn't made it to the meeting hall yet, Champion and Lizard were still around the kitchen area, and other members of the League were scattered throughout the Tower.

What rose out of the debris and dust in the air looked familiar. However at the same time... different. Older. More worn. When the League began to surround her and she saw the gold S on Supergirl's chest her eyes and head twitched and a bit of solar heat pulsed out of her eyes like red-ish smoke. When the twisted and broken Kryptonian dashed at the daughter of Superman Jimmy dove in front of her with his shield altering Solara's course. Supergirl could've taken the hit, but Jimmy knew the shield would protect him from even this chick. He wasn't on the League when she was a member, but he read the papers and took pictures of her in a few group photos. And there was no way he was going to let her just come in and trounce the 'Girl of Steel'.

"Foolish human... where did you get that shield?" Solara asked with a crack in her voice and energy still escaping her eyes. When the Martian Manhunter and the Atom lunged at her with different attacks she managed to dodge and counter them both with her crippling speed and strength. The Atom's ability to shrink didn't matter when the Kryptonian possessed microscopic vision.

"Where is Superman?!?" She cried, "It's HIS fault I had to watch Krypton die. Why didn't he rescue me?!" Solara continued, batting Guardian into Booster Gold and Zatanna.

Guardian picked himself up with the other heroes. In his deep voice, the Martian Manhunter answered the crazed Kryptonian. His voice was somewhere between Morgan Freeman and Marvin the Martian.

"Superman died protecting the world from the Doomsday creature. Solara we can help you..." J'onn began to say before Solara lit him up with heat vision.

"Burn." she stated in a cold manner, almost as if she was in disbelief.

Experience: Discovered a means to produce clean fuel in the remnants of Atlantis, saved miners trapped in a cave in, and assisted the Navy and Coast Guard on several search & rescue missions. Atticus also worked with the Air Force on several occasions.

BRIEF Bio: He remembers being raised in a small coal mining town in Virginia. As soon as he got out of high school he got a job working in the coal mines. His father had left him and his mother on their own and he also had a younger brother (Richard, currently 50 yrs old) he helped raise. He was approached when heading to a Marine recruiter's office by a man claiming he was with the government himself and looking for volunteers. This lead to the machinations that made him the Cyborg he is today.

Notes:

* Remembers being a kid during the Vietnam War in the 60's, the moon landing, Woodstock, and Nixon being elected President.

* Doesn't remember much of his time working in the mines or his teenage years but frequently uses a pick ax in combat.

* Would've actually been an earlier Cyborg in the 00 series, however there was a lot of trial and error with his flight systems and breathing underwater as well as high altitudes. His brain also suffered some damage and he lost many of his memories.
