Request!

Along the way, discovery of what actually happened to Namie's mother could reveal a potential antagonist or anything the overall story might profit from.

I'm not sure if the Character Goals were for suggestions or requests but... This isn't a rush or anything but I would love to be as equally surprised as Namie to discover what happened with this mystery if you guys are willing to think of something later for the IC.
I am revisiting the quirk capabilities of my character. I am asking for opinions. I originally had the idea of just having durable antlers with the characteristics of a deer along with ice powers.

I then had a different idea to scrap the ice powers and turn the antlers metallic with the capability of breaking them and creating new ones. (4-Sword Style Technique). Though this does ruin the whole shivering in broad daylight from the ice powers.

We need a Transformation Quirk. As we have a lot of Emitters, a few Mutations, and no Transformations. Something cool might be transforming into a Wendigo or something for the antlers but I dunno if you want to rethink it that much.

Not gonna lie, Kazuo would probably be willing to help her on his time. But just don't let her get too bossy or annoying lol, a little more snark than necessary is very likely to come out. Still, that's true, he wouldn't be as heated (ironic given the specifics of his quirk) as her. After all, he wants to succeed, but like I said, he wants his friends/allies to succeed to. Except Nobunobu. Fuck that guy. lol jkjk

Nah. At the start, Kazuo wins more than he loses against Namie. That's because Namie's approach is to fight it out close and for first bouts, she'll stick with that strategy trying to think there is some counter. She isn't going to win that fight and might pull a couple of upsets from things going her way or whatever. It is important for her to realize that she has to take other options to win. As in, the best thing to do against Kazuo would be for Namie to play strictly defense and use her Quirk to produce the gas to heat the area up, making Kazuo approach his limit faster. Namie has him beat in the long game, it is just a matter of preventing serious injury until then.

Speaking of let's see how I predict a fight with the others...

Shiori: Tough to say. I feel like this fight is closer than Internal Furnace. Namie might be able to hold the record at 5/10 but again, she'll initially fall for trying things in close quarters which she'll be at a disadvantage in terms of speed and power. The thing Namie has is endurance so depending on how hard Shiori hits (and I assumed slightly less than Kazuo), Namie could stay in the fight until Shiori drains. Does Shiori know close quarters fighting well enough? Can Namie stay in the fight until Shiori runs out of juice? I dunno. Tough to call.

Shun: An interesting fight because this is the opposite of the other two. Namie has to finish the fight quick or alternatively, survive the duration of the Engine Rev period. I give the first fight or two to Namie because she has the surprise factor on her Quirk and due to Shun's lazy workout routine. Namie beats him simply by going all out at the beginning. The next few fights is when Shun wises up and manages to mount a solid defense to avoid Namie's initial fury and then use Engine Rev to beat her, handily. Now either Namie learns a few new tricks or she prepares a defense to hold off Shun's Engine Rev assault until he runs out of juice and then beats him then. I say in the first ten fights, Namie wins 5/10 with the majority of wins coming early before she gets really starved for wins later.

Ume: I believe Ume is at a disadvantage here. Namie's bodily sap acts as a pretty effective counter to dead skin attachments simply because the sap covers her skin when excreted. With Namie having the edge in close quarters fighting, Namie just has to close the distant putting Ume on the defense. Ume can make all the walls and shields but her hesitation might make her miss an opportunity to turn a fight around. As of right now, I have no idea what tricks Ume can do to counter Namie and if you have any in mind, don't tell me because that'll be fun to be surprised alongside my character. I give Namie 7/10 victories in this one.

Nobu: I have to think about that one...

Do seat numbers mean anything?
Sorry I was away for the past two days, anyway....

As for Namie, I think they would hit it off fairly easily. and Kazuo is, to me anyway, a character who should be likeable and easy to click with as far as friendship goes. And you know, he probably would wanna spar with her on a friendly basis.

If I had to discuss a scenario I wanna see, I kind of want a showcase of quirks.

Namie at this point is very much at this point determined to prove she is great on her own. I can see Kazuo fanning the flames a bit by playfully jabbing at Namie in a manner contesting what Namie trying to be great. Looking at Kazuo and his Quirk, I give Kazuo 7 out of 10 matches against Namie on his good days. Namie is not a gifted combatant and does not have super speed or strength but she only knows how to fight up close so due to poor adaptability will lose more times than win.

Namie understands that she can't win all the time, unlike Bakugou, but she won't like a losing record. SO she'll likely throw herself stubbornly into sparring matches often. Early in the RP she'll probably lose a lot but as she learns a bit more control and tactics, the fight will likely be much closer. Thus, I predict a very heated rivalry but Namie will probably be heavy on the fury and such while I predict Kazuo will be a bit easier. Of course they are naturally bonding at this point so it'll turn out to be a nice little friendship.

On another note, Namie and Kazuo would work well in tandem. One of the things that Namie knows she can use her Quirk for is body temperature control. The solid form feels like an ice cube and by having a few spikes on her head, she can cool her body better than sweat potentially. That is a big boon for endurance and Kazuo could totally benefit if they work together.

On a more serious note, I think Ume and Namie hitting off on a friendship would be fun to see. Both of their demeanors would be very tomboy-ish in the beginning, and they both have a versatile quirk; perhaps Namie's confidence could rub-off on Ume over time. Who knows.

How about it, @Pirouette?

Totally. I actually see Namie making Ume her first friend in class. Their Quirks are both fairly similar in the biological control department which is their ice-breaker. Ume is also (I believe) not very confrontational so it'll be easy for Namie to feel comfortable in the relationship as Namie won't feel aggressively competitive towards Ume. In fact going back to the Quirk thing, Namie could definitely inspire confidence Ume as Namie is secreting a gross syrup-y fiber from her body but doesn't even phase her when her arms are drenched with that stuff. So naturally, Namie would not be concerned or grossed out with Ume's Quirk and would definitely step in to tell her first friend that she shouldn't worry about it.

I imagine Namie being fairly responsive to any questions or doubt Ume voices but will likely not pry until later in their relationship once they understand each other a bit better.

At around 5'6", Namie grew a little too fast for her body to catch up and appears deceptively leaner than she should be. The telltale signs of that is the impressive muscle definition that Namie manages to get when she flexes. Her natural lighter brown hair has an impressive length reaching her rear end but she usually keeps her air up in a pigtails. Her wardrobe and general presentation of herself is relatively laid back with variations clothes that an athlete would wear: team shirts and jackets, running shorts or tights, and so on.

Specialized glands under the skin turn viscous fiber into a maple syrup-like liquid that can secreted from the body. The user of this Quirk can mentally alter the state of matter this substance is in by altering the temperature, making it warmer to turn into a gas and colder to turn into a solid. The boiling and freezing points are relatively low in energy requirements as in, in order for the for the user to turn the liquid into a gas, one just has to think about the liquid getting warmer until it reaches around 100 *F and for the solid around 20*F. The user can alter the temperature at their best so long as the substance is touching them and may struggle with temperature altering when the substance is away from their body. It isn't impossible to manipulate the state of matter of the substance away from the person but requires great concentration to achieve the almost telepathic thought with severely ramping difficult with distant from the substance (a feat Namie struggles with presently). The substance in all forms is noted to be quite dense, sinking to the bottom of a glass of water in both solid and liquid states. The user of this Quirk must maintain a high fiber diet and overuse of their Quirk will result in extreme dietary fiber loss. Low fiber in the body means that they will have horrid bowel activities and can even risk some more severe consequences of too much Quirk use.

Namie has maintained a very healthy amount of athletic activities such as team sports, swimming, and weight training. Although not the biggest, strongest, or most standout Quirk, she still did very well in the psychical tests. Most of Namie's experience with fighting comes from petty sport squabbles, usually due to a bit of stubbornness or self-importance on Namie's part as losing wasn't ever her intent. Outside of a few school yard brawls, Namie hasn't had any opportunity for proper training, leaving her rough around the edges.

C H A R A C T E R G O A L S

Namie is a person of high ambition but believes she is capable of achieving that ambition. She was given a quite versatile Quirk as part of making her capable in her own way but I plan on making her not creative enough to utilize the full versatility of said Quirk. Thus the aim is that Namie will have to work alongside others to discover not only creative Quirk applications but also to discover a bit more about herself. She hasn't really learned to work well alongside others. This is due, in part, to her past where her father had to travel around Japan a lot for work, often moving him and Namie around the country. Namie never really had time to fit in anywhere and make lasting friendships. Her selection of Ishin is in part due to her internal desire to finally be rooted long enough to make friends but mainly due to wanting to very capable as a hero.

Another character arc that I'd like to explore is the reason why Namie wants to be a hero. Her father works in the civil department, using his Quirk to help with rebuilding and building roads. Namie's mother passed away early in Namie's life so she never really got to know her and even though her father is quite reserved about talking about Namie's mother, she knows that her mother was a hero. This creates the ambition to use her mother's power to do her memory proud. Along the way, discovery of what actually happened to Namie's mother could reveal a potential antagonist or anything the overall story might profit from.

This I should awesome!!
At the very least I can put a bit more into thinking up how kazuo might act towards ume or namie

I'm all ears
