The fourth Shuppet blinked a little at the hand directed at it, before flying forth a bit to inspect it. ‘Shupp-et.’ Seems like Amelia was declared harmless, as it simply stayed in close and stared at her. Then, Amelia came with her next question, and at least the two in front of her got curious expressions.

‘Shuppet?’ The fourth one asked her.

‘Shupp-shupp?’ The third one flew down from above her head to look at the first one and Amelia with an amused little smile.

‘Shuppet!’ The first one announced, smiling at Amelia, but not seeming to make any opinion noted.

‘Shupp!’ … And that’s when Amelia might realize the Shuppet that flew behind her has now stolen one of her Pokéballs, holding it while looking proud of itself. Didn’t seem like it intended anything malicious with it, but nonetheless, he held it.

‘Shuppet!’ The first one blinked a little surprised at the thief, before suddenly flying in at speed. Shuppet used Knock Off!

‘SHUPP!’ A startled thief-Shuppet got startled by the attacking Shuppet, the move doing as it should and the Pokéball flew up into the air.

‘Shuppet~!’ And suddenly the third Shuppet, who had been above Amelia flew up and caught the Pokéball in mid-air, looking really pleased.

‘Shuuuuuupp…!’ The second one didn’t look too pleased about the stolen Pokéball being taken by another, and suddenly flew up at the third one. Shuppet #2 used Knock Off!

‘Shuuuuup~!’ The third one played it dramatically, making an exaggerated sound of despair as the Pokéball flew out of the ghost. It then sailed through the air, over Amelia, before the fourth Shuppet drifted up with a blank expression and caught it.

‘Shupp-et.’ Sounding like “there we go”, it caught the Pokéball, and held it for a bit. … ‘Shuppet?’

The other three were staring at it with intentful stares and smiles, looking quite taken with their little game of Knock Off to get the Pokéball, and the fourth Shuppet suddenly recoiled realizing all three of them were now after it.

‘S-SHUPP!’ Letting out a sound of panic, it shot away and curved, the other three Shuppets on its tail as it flew, somehow holding onto the Pokéball, now flying in circles around Amelia at high speed to avoid the other three.

… As far as could be told, it didn’t appear like any of the Shuppets were necessarily hostile to the idea, but they might have gotten a little too absorbed in their sudden game of Knock-Off-The-Pokéball. Amelia was free to act as she wanted, if she wanted to make peace between them, make a choice or whatever she intended.

Lucian took the time to train Houndour at the wet fields of the flowery Route 2. While there were a few water/other type combinations, such as Surskit and Lotad, none of them were actually high enough level to know any Water-type moves, meaning they were relatively low threat to Houndour.

While training, Lucian inevitably came across the very common Route 2 Pokémon Lotad, so if he wanted to engage one to catch he could. Otherwise, he could just use their leaves to fuel the experience of Houndour’s training.

Pokédex Entry #270 – Lotad, the Water Weed Pokémon. They live in clean ponds and lakes, where they float with their large leaves above the surface, and they serve as ferries to smaller Pokémon. They rise climb ashore only in search of cleaner water. If it’s dehydrated, the leaf will wilt.

With the Pokémon around being either partly water-types (Surskit and Lotad), very small (Weedle) or fairly fast (Pidgeys), this was quite the target-practice for Houndour where he needed to aim at specific places to hit the targets for full damage.

Houndour collectively grew to Level 7!

Houndour has trained his accuracy! His Embers will be more accurate, now!

So, should he otherwise feel done with the training, it was time to make the choice again.

Connected areas:
Pureplain City. Close, can easily get there without complication.
Infested Woods. Relatively close, can get there without complication.
Wet Caverns. Requires crossing the remainder of Route 2.

‘Duck…!’ The Ducklett made a noise as it did just exactly what it said when Wooper shot out its Water Gun. It ducked under the shot, the movement enough to allow Dawkin to move on past it. Behind him, some bit away, the girl and the man peered after him and saw enough of what was going on. The girl shouted down the corridor.

‘THAT’S A WATER-GROUND TYPE! WATER WILL STILL DO DAMAGE TO IT! WATER-GUN!’ And so, as commanded, Ducklett flapped briefly with his wings to drift on the water to get into a better position, and then launched a stream of water at Wooper. … And, yes. Of course, she likely didn’t know Wooper’s ability.

Dawkin managed to strive ahead, and… the road split in two. On the right, the water eventually ended onto dry cave-floor before the corridor continued straight for quite a bit. On the left, the water continued and the corridor curved steadily left, meaning Dawkin couldn’t see far in, but if he strained his ears he could hear something that sounded like splashing in that direction. Someone, or something, walking in the water, not too far away?

Jacques did not show any specific reaction to that he might not have been greatly appreciated by either Shyn nor Ren. He held his question as it was, with Kalmia blinking on the side. Then, came the answer. To begin with, Jacques simply smiled, looking like he had won some form of victory. Kalmia looked confused, but as Jacques wasn’t immediately answering, she did.

‘Ah, um.’ With hesitation at first, that is. ‘There is a great deal of difference between “rare” and “legendary”. But, if we assume you’re talking about the latter, there isn’t much we can tell of their current condition. The libraries of Worldedge City should be able to tell of the glimpses or stories that we’ve seen, but otherwise I’m afraid-’

‘Sunken City.’ Jacques interrupted her, making her flinch. ‘Known Ruins, the Old Tombs, Sunrise Tower, Highhill Rocks. All those are places you may wish to examine. If you wish to read the texts you’ll find, you might want to hear with Professor Dunstan of Worldedge City, though he is often also found in the Research Lab of Raremine Town. He’s been conducting research you may be interested in. As Kalmia said, the libraries of Worldedge or the Research Lab at Raremine might hold something of interest to you. And if you want something a little bit… extra…’ Jacques smile grew wider.

‘You may want to ask the same question you just asked me to the Gym Leader of Fairsea Outpost. He’s found something in his examination of the Sunken City that might interest you.’ And telling what exactly that is was apparently way too sensible. ‘Any reason you’re asking? Is there any particular Pokémon which interests you? Or, is it just the legendary in general?’ Jacques asked, looking intently at Ren.

‘There are probably more rare Pokémon in True Infested Forest than in the Deep Woods. Tons of Pokémon are scared away by the light in the Outer Woods and by the Pokémon of the Deep Woods, ending up a huge soup of all imaginable kinds of bug-Pokémon in the middle. If it’s just for the Pokémon, then here should be far enough. That said, there ARE Pokémon that only inhabit the Deep Woods…’ Laurinda provided some information, however, about the nature of the woods themselves and as to how Pokémon live.

‘It’s not all bugs in there, though…’ Laurinda muttered a bit for herself, then she blinked and came to a full stop.

‘Delphox.’ She commanded, and the fox came to a stop a few moments later, giving a tired stare back.

‘This may be the shortest route, but I’m not THAT eager to blow up. We’re going around this part of the woods.’ She declared, and started moving around to the right, avoiding a specific gathering of trees. Delphox sighed, as if she had really wanted to lead them through there, but obeys and follows her trainer. Looking up at the trees, Claire would be able to see numerous Pokémon attached to the trees…

Pokédex Entry #204 – Pineco, the Bagworm Pokémon. They spit out a glue which hardens upon contact with air. They use this to strengthen their shell with tree bark. They hang in trees waiting for insect prey. If disturbed while eating, Pinecos drops from their trees and explode with no warning.

… Those Pinecos are ALL eating. There is no shortage of bugs in here.

‘We’re almost to the Deep Woods now.’ Laurinda told, walking ahead of Delphox now, having been able to tell the direction.

Seeing how Flame was standing by and awaiting the birds to get closer, Audrey decided on her strategy.

‘Alright! Both at the same time! Tackle!’ Audrey commanded, and both birds flew in to tackle the fox. Flame dodged one of them, but the other was a bit too much to keep track of, and the Tackle connected. However, at this range Flame was able to get an Ember in on the one who missed, the Pidgey hit with fire during the fly-in panicking and going to land to tend the burn, when then Rosa came in with a Tackle. It spun from the impact before collapsing. Pidgey fainted. Only one Pidgey left.

‘I-I’m not done!’ Audrey suddenly said, and threw her one remaining Pokéball, throwing in a last Pidgey to reinforce the line. Now, technically she was using more Pokémon than she had been allowed to by the rules, but it was up to Donna if she felt to call her out on it or if she was just going to handle what Audrey was throwing at her. ‘Again! Both of you, Tackle the fox! Enough hits and you should be able to take it down…!’

No change in tactics. What would Donna do?

‘Oh, geesh! Strong defenses, AND ways to make them harder!’ Lena complained a little, grinning a little at the battlefield where Skitty and Nincada were collectively making taking out each other’s efforts. So, Lena looked at Martin, analyzing him a bit, before smiling again.

‘I don’t think Skitty can win a straight-on fight, so, let’s gamble. Skitty, let’s go the bard-route! Sing!’ Lena announced, and Skitty was more than prepared to stand steadily in place and break out into song. The sound of the fairly pretty song was directed in Nincada’s direction, and upon hearing it he’d soon start to feel drowsy. If it would be enough to make him fall asleep was a different matter, and Martin definitely had the time to take action before the possibility.

Phew. That'd do. Don't make me sum it up whenever a new character appears. Haha.
Hm. Seems like a fairly restrained woman arrived. Likely dangerous, given the situation. In any case. She asked what she missed. Lataniva briefly thought of what had transpired, and then spoke very quickly to sum it all up.

‘We’re recruited because we’re the worst of the worst. We should cooperate or we will be punished. Ship is wired with surveillance, attempts to hack or so will result in ship shutting down. That guy’s Stryker, the captain. That guy’s Hadrain, the chef, report dietery needs and allergies to him. The Kzargett’s Vavnr, and his bowels aren’t long enough to digest salad. That guy’s Sasha, the medic, report medical conditions to him.’

‘The mushroom skeleton’s a pilot and volunteer, except he’s not a volunteer because he’s being paid. Captain and mushroom had a fight because mushroom’s going to be in his way. Chef and Kzargett had friendly conversation. Anyone who shares room with that guy will die from lack of sleep. I’m Lataniva, psionic and mind reader. We’re not to kill one another when Captain Dawson isn’t present. That’s it.’

And that was about it. Then, her attention refocused on the tour.

Fake identities. Merely pirates. Lataniva frowned a bit at that.

‘I believe I am a little too identifiable to run under a fake identity. Unless you wish me to change, I suppose.’
She’d easily be recognized through her unique armor and markings on the right side of her face if anyone actually knew what she looked like. Then again, with all she had been through… perhaps a change of look wouldn’t be too inappropriate. She’d been raised in a culture where lying was punishable by death… yet she knew that letting the truth about this mission out would be inadvisable. She resolved to that should she ever be questioned she’d simply seal her mouth shut.

So, they got a tour through the ship. Ample enough for their mission. Lataniva would never be able to pilot it or make any estimations from an engineering standpoint, but judging by the spaces and rooms within it would serve their needs. Then it was on to the war room and their mission was explained to them. Lataniva stared at the holotable from a bit of a distance, crossing her arms as she watched. Elimination of a mining facility. She could do that. They apparently had someone who was already devising an attack-plan for them, but it didn’t feel inappropriate for Lataniva to insert her own little quip.

‘If we need extra information, we could always capture someone who knows and let me look into his mind. I’m effective at that.’
Of course, multiple of them likely had their own means of gathering information, but that was hers.

‘So, infiltrate a vessel that is heading in towards the facility and then somehow use it to destroy the base from inside?’
Lataniva suggested, to see if any of the others had any other plans in the works with the weapons at their disposal.
... Hum. And suddenly I realized that everyone else was writing their locations in the top of their posts. Now, I've not been anywhere special yet, but perhaps I should too. Haha.
@Joshua Tamashii It's casual. Post doesn't need to be longer than that it conveys your intentions. Haha. Nicely posted.

@Pyromaniacwolf Nicely posted. Yupp, doing that should yield some results. Now, then. Allow me to consider... heh.

@Rune_Alchemist You'll be creative when you need to be creative. Don't worry about it. Just do what comes you natural, I can keep track of the details. Well, except for when I miss details, then please do remind me. XD

@Eklispe

That was about what she expected. Third-in-command of a villainous group. It was possible that she’d obtain a fair amount of money from such a deal. The prospect was actually more attractive than she wanted it to be. … But. Protection from the likes of the Rockers was not protection Wisp would put her faith in. The only one she trusted to protect Viola was herself. In addition, attracting attention to herself through partaking actively in a villainous group was undesirable.

What did she even know about the Rockers, anyways? She had read about them briefly on PHO, as part of researching the local threats. They could potentially all be wiped out tomorrow. If they were, she didn’t want to be part of them. But, if Ceramix had words specifically for her, that meant they had intentionally found her. How? She briefly considered if Shatterpoint’s power would be able to see her. … Dangerously possible. Investigating how they found this out was a priority.

She’d have to consider this carefully. They knew where to find her, to act favorably for now was likely a good choice. Maybe she could even have use of them. If only for a bit. She’d have to be cautious, but if she played correctly, she could get things the way she wanted them. Wisp was already a thief, a little dealing might not be too bad. As long as she wasn’t openly villainous, as long as she was hidden, a little might be fine. And being hidden was her specialty.

She left them hanging staring at empty space for a few seconds while she considered her reply. Then, one line appearing at a time…

LEAVE
i will consider your proposition
i will find you when i have made my decision
if ceramix wishes to make a deal, i will contact him directly
i expect to be compensated for the exposure risk from your violent visit

… That’d do. Then she’d move out of the way so they didn’t accidentally step into her if they actually started leaving. If they did, she had in mind that she would quickly get in and debrief Viola, before trying to pursue them. If they didn’t… Well, then she’d have to react to that.
Screw it.

I failed and posted in the wrong section, so I'm just going to edit it and make you guys get an early post. This is to cover up my shame. With other words, you're in luck if you want to get two posts in for the price of one post-period, because I am still intending on posting after the usual amount of time since the previous post. Hah.
@Rune_Alchemist Nicely posted. I will remark that Ralia could likely sense the emotions of the Pokémon lying in wait, potentially informing of that there was an ambush in place, buuut, yeah, sensing emotions does not enable her to see spider-webs. Haha. I did think about that previously, but with Laurinda there it wasn't as important to mention. Anyways, yupp. I know what she'll answer to that.

... Pfffffffth. I posted this in the wrong area. Gah.

The blue Pokémon had stood as stupidly the entire time, and didn’t even flinch or make a move when suddenly hit by a Great Ball. The Great Ball proceeded to fall down onto the rock, and was not able to hold its balance as well as the Wooper had, so it bounced down into the water. It shook a bit, notably floating on the surface of the water. Of course, if he actually wanted to bring it along he would have to grab it out of the water as he headed on. The ball shook and shook, regardless of where it was, until finally…

There was a sudden splash, and in front of Dawkin Ducklett suddenly emerged, having had the time to swim past him with considerable speed. The duck landed on the surface and made a single high salutation with its right wing, mouth wide open.

‘Ducklett!’ It was now blocking the way, sure to use moves to keep him from going deeper into the wet tunnel. Meanwhile, he could hear the noises of two other individuals having jumped into the waters, including a number of female curses about having to get wet in her fine attire, because she had been intending on changing before getting into the water.

Dawkin’s left once again with the choice of what to do, now.

‘Iiph!’ The little princess seemed suddenly honestly scared by Martin’s promise to lay claim to her, and she dove in to hide behind her king. Actually, the king too looked kind of intimidated, blinking at him somewhat.

‘Oh, my. I might have to take defending the princess seriously.’ Lena smirked a little, looking at Martin. ‘Sorry, I’m going to take the first turn. Fake Out!’

‘Skit!’ The Skitty flashed forward at Nincada, absurdly fast and unpreventable, and clapped her tiny paws on him before jumping over him and landing on the other side. It didn’t do a whole lot of damage, but Nincada couldn’t help but flinch at the sudden impact.

‘Strong defenses, huh. Let’s see if I can do something about that. Skitty, Tail Whip!’ Lena commanded in on the second round of the battle, having stolen the first one for herself.

‘Skitty~!’ The kitten-Pokémon started waving her comparatively pretty big tail on a small distance from Nincada, which would reduce his defense somehow, assuming he saw it. Of course, Martin and Nincada could also make a move that turn.

There were quite a few Shuppets inhabiting under the eaves of the house, but upon Amelia’s request, a couple of them came flying down curiously. To be exact, four. Four Shuppets came flying down in a line before breaking in different directions when they were about to reach her.

‘Shuppet?’ The first one asked curiously, flying pretty much right up into Amelia’s face, though not with any violent intentions.

‘Shup-shup?’ The second one asked as curiously, drifting around her to nose itself towards the back of her head.

‘Shuppeeeet!’ The third one sounded happy, hovering above Amelia’s head, smiling and looking down at her.

‘Shuuupp…’ The fourth one was keeping a bit of a distance compared to the very nosy other three, staring at Amelia a bit from about two meters distance.

So, all of a sudden, Amelia had four Shuppets paying extra close attention to her. There were more up there, but these four came down to her. She was now to act as she liked in this situation.

‘Delph.’ The fox’s noise as she was being thanked sounded a lot like “You don’t need to thank me. No, really. Don’t.” She then continued to simply walk deeper into the woods, not particularly checking if they were still following. Delphox held the wand burning in front of her, gazing into the flame rather than at her surroundings.

‘Delphox sees this as but a chore, I’m afraid. There is nothing here which challenges her. It’s made her a bit unhappy.’ Laurinda commented with a sad and slightly regretful smile. ‘But, really. Many Pokémon are known for laying traps. You’d best learn to be a bit wary.’ Laurinda commented, looking to them.

‘I know all Pokémon that inhabit the Infested Woods.’ Laurinda answered to Claire’s question. ‘… But I don’t think I should help you out like that. You shouldn’t be relying on my strength to get a boost. I’m fine with you tagging along during my missions, sure, but any such actual effort that benefits your Pokémon journey should be done by you and your Pokémon by yourselves.’ She said with finality in her voice, to indicate that she shouldn’t be persuaded to otherwise.

‘And you stop right there.’ She suddenly said and pointed at a bush, and a tiny little shape froze. A blue little creature crawled back into the woods with an annoyed tint in its eyes.

‘Karra…’

Pokédex Entry #588 – Karrablast, the Clamping Pokémon. They live in fields and forests, hiding in tall grass or trees. When threatened, they’re known to spit acidic liquid to drive attackers away. If bathed in electricity together with a Shelmet, both will evolve.

May or may not have been just about to spit acid at the present individuals. After being satisfied with that the creature had obeyed her command, Laurinda turned and wandered further towards the next part of Infested Woods. Claire has the same options as last time, once again, adding a Karrablast option.
@Crossfire I must admit that I did imagine that you were going to draw, like, a map. Seen from above.

Though, if not, I would appreciate if it somehow told what floors the different things are on. It is just a little unclear, if I don't double-check with the post, which I'd rather not have to do too many times in the future. Haha.

Or, just leave it like that, and we'll deal. That works too. XD
