A Pirate's Life For Me {Angel & Poohead}

The Governor made sure Abigail was safe and warm, before his gaze caught the corset in the arms of the one of the guardsmen. The man's faced paled, and he put it down and pointed at this new roguish woman standing before them. The Governor looked right at her. "Shoot her."

"Governor!" Abilgail exclaimed. "Father." Elizabeth said behind them, striding forward and elbowing her way past the guards, keeping her father at heel. "Commodore Norrington. You don't expect me to believe you'd shoot her for saving my friend's life?" She eyed the Commodore.

Norrington's ire cooled somewhat, breathing through his nose as he looked this mystery woman up and down, measuring her. He sheathed his sword, and held out his hand. "I believe thanks are in order." he said, taking her hand in his. He did not shake however, and drew back her sleeve. "Had a brush with the East India Trading Company eh? Pirate." His last word was a cold, hard statement of fact.

Alcander raised his hand a bit and nodded at Claire's question on if any of them heard anything, but his following grin showed it was just a joke. He shook his head and winked. The young Grecian was feeling much more at home around these folks now, it seemed. He might start treating them like he would treat his old friends back in Tampa. He doubted any of these girls were used to him teasing.

Truthfully, he was pretty good at it. He was only bad at not differentiating between teasing and brawling. He could mess with someone all day, and sometimes someone would think he was charming, and other times they'd think him a jerk. He remembered one instance where he said something witty as he walk walking with his friends, and a girl heard him and she apparently had thought him funny enough to check out. Unfortunately (for her), he didn't know her and wasn't about to be that way around just anyone.

However, he could never actually tease someone the way Murphy would. He wouldn't see a fight or a bunch of milk poured on someone's head, or anything Murphy usually did as teasing. If he ever did that to someone, he wasn't expecting laughs. He was expecting to defend himself at that point. He never understood how someone could make that into something light hearted. He guess he just didn't know when too much was too much, and decided to never delve into anything physical unless he really meant it.

He turned to regard Amber when she decided to step next to him and talk to him jokingly. He smiled to her, and then hesitated before answering her question. "Just decided to see the world before I grab a career. What about you?" he asked her, casually shifting it back to her.

I'll give some background.



Hulburg is a merchant small city/large town right on the coast of the Moonsea. The Galena mountains are to the northeast, and trackless wilderness are to the northwest which turn into the wasteland known as Thar, that was once ruled by Aespurus, the King in Copper. A terrible sorcerer of incredible power who cheated death and became a Lich. Now it's home to 4-5 major Orc/Ogre Tribes. Theres a lot of burial mounds and small tombs beneath the Galena mountains, as well as a small Abbey of Monks (forgot their deity).

Cormanthor and Myth Drannor to the south are home to Elves and Half Elves. Glister to the North is the mining town that provides raw material resources to Hulburg and the other cities. Mulmaster is Hulburgs main rival. There's pirates in the Moonsea as well. North of the Galena Mountains is Vaasa, The Bloodstone lands, and the Kingdom of Damara, a frontier Kingdom with its own legends of a Witch King and many monsters such as Wyverns and Chimeras. A lot of the setting is generally cool or cold. Summers are fairly short, around there. Unless you go south of the Moonsea, at least.
