Current Projects/Freelance work

  • I am a voice talent and script writer for Faerun History
  • I have a much smaller personal Youtube channel that I use to make videos on various subjects. Only been making videos for 2 years, but it's growing!
  • I'm the host of a Science Fiction & Fantasy Podcast where I interview authors of the genre.

Interests (Includes but is not limited to)

  • Writing/Reading (Love writing and I own too many books)

  • Voice Acting/Singing
  • Tabletop Gaming (Started late in the game. Been at it for 3 years. I was the kid who bought the monster manuals and D&D books just for the lore for the longest time. I've played 3.5e, 5e, Star Wars D20, Edge of the Empire, PF, and PF2.)
  • Weaponry of all kinds
  • Anime (mostly action/shonen. DBZ & YYH being my favorites)

Roleplay F.A.Q.

  • Fantasy, Sci Fi, and Historical are my genres. Fantasy being my favorite and Sci Fi/Historical being close seconds.
  • Advanced / Nation / 1x1 / Casual (only in certain circumstances)
  • I generally write at the 'Advanced Level' meaning 4+ Paragraphs with good grammar.
  • I am usually busy with many projects and RPs, but if you wish to do a 1x1 with me, you'll need to present your case. Those I already do it with have my trust as a Roleplayer.
  • I love many, many fictional universes so me trying to list them all is an effort in futility!

@Inner DemonI half expected to see your face like this
For anyone who messes with my Arbites.
"You could say I'm well traveled," he admitted, losing his next card to a clever maneuver by Sayeeda. He blew out a sigh, flapping the bangs above his eyes. "But the same could be said of you, I guess." His dark eyes looked her up and down from behind the cards. The tight muscles, long legs, the marks and scars from battle and the slight lines along her face. Neil had seen a lot more than most in his time on Fortus and in space, but Sayeeda might have experienced more than him. Neil just didn't let things get to him, but he knew that he wasn't the wisest or most experience person around. There was always someone better.

"You and I both know that kind of planet we're going to...there's going to be some discharging firearms." He said, losing a second card. Neil blinked, bewildered at how this girl was getting the better of him again. Maybe he hadn't played as much of this game as he'd initially thought. He shrugged. "Doesn't bother me too much. Just hope our target doesn't get popped before we make it there, or Gideon forbid, has been killed already."

As Sayeeda played her next hand, Neil stretched and wriggled into a better position in the cushioned bench. "I don't think Gorlan'll feel too generous or kindly to us if that happens. Then again, if we steal the ship from him, that'll just be one more rich man I pissed off, and you likely as well." He laughed, and his thoughts drifted to the world they were going to. Who they would likely face.

"I would say I might sympathize with the rebels on Savran, being one myself. But then again, who isn't rebelling these days?" He thought aloud, hearing more than enough news on the grapevine about world after world falling to anarchy or bloodthirsty despots, or even finding liberty only to be invaded and killed by Xenos. Neil took a sip of his drink, savoring the flavor before playing both the Governer and the Governess, confident he had this game in the bag now.

He said that because of my missing leg, I wobbled during sex.

Implying that I get sex

(it's jokes, folks, sheesh. No harm no foul.)

So I take it Kyokushin stopped because it was just a college course that came to an end. Any reason why you picked Wing Chun rather than continue pursuing that line of karate or karate in general? Curious about when you picked it up too.

As for everything else, so it's just forms you learned off a college Kyokushin course and what I'm guessing was about six months of Wing Chun classes? Well, combined with practicing forms from other martial arts that you read about or saw on videos?

Curious about Wing Chun grappling, assuming it's centered on the standup clinch and arm/limb trapping. How do you train that on your own? Wooden dummy?

Yes, the Oyama Karate was a college course. And it takes six months to learn the forms of Wing Chun, and once you learn the forms, you can easily find out how they're used in proper application. And you got it right, the grappling is the limb trapping. And while it's easier to do it with a partner (which is why classes are good), as long as you learn the maneuvers, it's no big deal doing them on your own. They're literally just small moves put together to make a more complicated maneuver (same with various strikes), it's not like a whole dance that you do with no segmented parts. That's all any martial art is.

Though for the grappling, there is only 3 basic maneuvers you need to learn, and the 2nd and 3rd are for if you're fighting someone relatively competent in Wing Chun. The first is good enough to redirect any bar fight punch.

And I started Wing Chun...early 2015? I only got a taste of Oyama Karate, and while the two are both close combat and strike oriented, Wing Chun derives its power from your stance, momentum, and speed whereas Kyokushin is more focused on your movements, ki, and center of gravity. But I learned strikes and kicks too, and a bit of Japanese from Kyokushin. Might take it back up again at some point.

I own 3 books on Kung Fu, 1 book on Japanese concept of Ki, The Book of the 5 Rings, my Oyama Karate manual, and a small Tai Chi booklet (which I have yet to read). Out of all of those, I'd been most interested in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, but since there are no courses for any styles of that nature around here, I chose Wing Chun, a southern style. That, and it was the basis of Bruce Lee's martial arts career. He took the basics of that to form Jeet Kune Do.

Also the Wing Chun courses are 40 a month while the Karate ones were 90 (if I wanted to continue them). I wanted to try out Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with my friend while my group found a new dojo, but that was a hell of a lot more expensive.
Beren looked down the chasm with a curious look, comically with his hands on his hips. "You know if one did fall, at least they'd have plenty of time to try and catch some of the rocks to slow themselves down..."

"Aye!" Geradin announced, surprisingly Beren who jerked a bit. If he wasn't a Monk, he might have lost control of his footing from the sudden jump and he might have fallen. Luckily, he had very good balance and concentration. "God damn." He muttered under his breath, turning around to see Geradin march past him toward the bridge. "I shall lead. It feels sturdy enough from my reckoning. And it's only a bow shot across, right Elf?"

Calanon nodded, holding tightly to Brogach's reins to comfort the beast. Elk were not meant to travel underground. Elves neither, but Calanon was sure footed and steadfast, trusting in his friends and their comfort with the chasm. Geradin set off, with Alice and Argon choosing to take the rear. Beren nodded to them both, and then he helped usher the rest of the group forward over the precarious bridge toward their destination.

At times, the group would feel a sudden draft, and though normally the wind would effect them not at all, over such a drop it was a threatening thing. As was the impenetrable dark around them, threatening to engulf their very beings were it not for the hammer and the mystic ball at their backs, courtesy of Alice.

Within minutes of slow and steady travel, Geradin's light revealed a great tower of stone before them. It looked to be a natural rock formation, but if that was so, it was a very fortunate and coincidental one. For there was a roughly hewed opening at the bridges end, and within was a tunnel that led further still forward. Geradin and Beren were the first in, followed by Settionne and then Calanon and Brogach, followed by Ursaren, Argon, and Alice in the rear.

Within the short tunnel, they would all feel and intense surge of heat assail them, and a soft glowing in the distance. Geradin snuffed his hammer out, and chewed on his beard as he strode forward into the giant abandoned forge, upon and island of stone in a lake of magma...

Yes, but none of those times that Vegeta died was fighting an alien plant monster nor an android with a choking fetish. :]

Yeah, his deaths were due to his stupidity.

Also sorry for the thread derail. I shall halt.
