Hobgoblin Gird
On the Hunt again >>>> Waiting to pounce /// Day 5 // Evening

Crouching and moving on all fours, Gird moved swiftly through the underbrush with purpose. The large enemy had taken off into the forest with Gina right behind it. The amount of blood and carelessness of its tracks and sign would be good enough for any of the others to follow. However, gird wasn’t following by scent or sight as the world around them grew darker. He was following the muffled yellow color of the trolls spirit and the strong green aura of what he could only assume was Gina.

Soon the yellow aura faded and Gird stopped. Listening waiting for the slightest sound or movement. The other hobgoblins and goblins were quick to telegraph their positions as they ran through the underbrush toward their friend. Still, Gird didn’t reveal himself. Sticking to the thick brush he began to move forward again, slowly and with purpose. Making sure he got the most out of his camouflage. The Hobgoblin made his way toward the hill side and the cave that lay within.

He could sense something strong in the cave. There were several other figures but one stood out above the others, a dark orange colored aura. At least that was the best way he could describe it. By the way the others were yelling and talking, he only assumed they meant to take the thing head on. Brave if not a bit stupid, they weren’t invincible after all.

Taking up a position in the nearby brush Gird would wait for the others to draw the creature out before pouncing. His plan was to try to latch onto the creatures back and begin to eat its soul. Digging his sharp claws into the thick skin of the beast and using his light bone armor to act as a spiked deterrent to dissuade any attempt for the creature to try to grab him. Hopefully the others would be able to keep the beast busy while he did what he needed to do.

Ardur The Pixie
Never give a Pixie Explosive Ordinance >>>> Incoming! /// day 8 // Evening / Location - Near and Above E 11

The sights and sounds the goblins began to make as they began their march was strange. They were being careful or at least more so then what he thought they would do. Perhaps it’s from the other reborn that is with them. These thoughts filled his head as his eyes scanned the entrance and the jumble of goblins as they piled out and into the cave.

Eyeing over the simple tools and armor they had constructed in such a short time surprised him. These goblins would make a fine work force if they could be controlled. However, his mind turned to more aggressive ideas as his eyes finally rested upon their leader in the back. Rattleskull and crispy where taking up the rear of the formation. They were close to each other but Ardur was unsure if he would get a better shot at possibly being able to hit both of them.

Grasping the rat lung bomb in hand the small pixie used Lesser Flight III and took off behind the stone pillars until he reached the wall (E11 > E14 > A14). Once there he gained as much altitude as he could and began to glide to towards the entrance (A14 > A7). He was sure that his fluttering form would either be seen or heard if he wasn’t gliding. As he came closer to his intended target of Rattleskull, the pixie charged the fire crystal and dropped it just as he had for the huge slime before with a rock.

Ardur didn’t wait around to watch the explosion or even see if he hit or not. The goblins began to form a shield wall and advance toward his friends. one smaller group with a few hammers seemed to be dealing quite a lot of damage towards a group of pixies. He was a bit upset that he was too late to aid them and continued to fly back to his pillar.

Once there, Ardur quickly realized that he had little in the way of offensive capabilities other than dropping rocks on them. With this thought in mind and remembering what Fire Resistance I gave him. The small pixie then began to practice just like Crispy showed the reborn goblin earlier in the day. Focusing on his hand to create fire, pouring his mana into his open palm before throwing whatever he could muster out towards the approaching goblins.

He was very much aware that he would be doing very little in terms of anything but at the very least it could provide a distraction and draw the goblins in closer to his friends.

Ardur The Pixie
Here comes the thunder >>>> Never give a Pixie Explosive Ordinance /// day 8 // Evening

Ardur watched intently as the flames from the torches grew closer. These goblins numbered in the many. But perhaps when their numbers began to dwindle and their leadership was destroyed, maybe then they would kneel or give up and run. All things considered, Ardur would focus on Rattle skull. He was the major threat here. Perhaps even crispy would submit to them without their leader.

He paused for a moment longer after he called out the approaching enemy. The others down below seemed to be digging in and preparing their ambush. The small pixie soon found himself being summoned by one of the self-proclaimed leaders of the reborn. Flying down to the slime it reached out toward him. Hesitating slightly due to his instincts, Ardur allowed the slime to touch him.

The strange chilled sensation of having another's thoughts reverberate through his head was very strange and caught him slightly off guard. After receiving the message Ardur nodded, "I'm focusing Rattle skull. If he dies the others will break. That and if crispy is flame touched he would probably be immune if not resistant to the flames. And both of them have been in this cave long enough that they more than likely have some sort of resistance to the poison."

Feeling that he relayed his message appropriately, Ardur took flight this time with the fragile cargo. Casting shield on the volatile poison crystal before he leaves. Another reason why he was going to focus the brute, was that the "clothes" he wore would most likely burn and this would get rid of any unforeseen ability he might have. Taking the rat lung bomb back up to a stone shelf closer to the entrance (E11) Ardur would wait until Rattle skull came within range of the others before arming and dropping the improvised explosive device.

Victor Asimov

Victor found the next few days rather peaceful. The camp was set up similar to how his boot camp was and was at least somewhat familiar too him. The tall Russian was never really bored he always found something to do. When he wasn’t training on his new weapon, Victor could be found talking to some locals and the other injured. Both to keep them company and get some Intel on the terrain and fighting forces they would be going up against.

Although sometimes the others wouldn’t talk much he would still talk to them, tell them about himself. He found this to be a good way at getting out of his shell while also getting some good information. Scratching down letters to send home to love ones as well for the ones he could. Victor learned a lot this way. Learning about the violence, the unrelenting Japanese, stories of war machines and endless artillery. The boy also learned of the types of weather for the seasons, what kind materials worked well for temporary shelters, wild foods that one could eat, and ways to keep the insects away.

Although the soldiers were in a bad way, most seemed to enjoy talking to the strapping young lad. His time would also be spent practicing with the sword that was kept secured on his left hip. Some others seemed to be interested, for a little while. A few even interested in training with it. A request he didn’t mind, after all it was just one more thing to get their minds off other things.

He even found himself volunteering for perimeter patrols. He knew that he was going out in this eventually and too him this was the best way to prepare himself for the rigors of war in a tropical environment. The others that were tasked to his team seemed like good people, but he hadn’t spent all that much time with them. Other than base interactions, they all seemed to have their own lane and didn’t have much reason to interact with each other.

But today seemed like a rather lazy day for the most part. After doing his usual PT, Victor found himself going over his new gear again. Taking it apart and putting it back together, cleaning it while also going over how to deal with jams. The weapon was magnificent in its own right. Made for anti-armor purposes it was going to be fun to use in the field even if it was a bit cumbersome and heavy.

After going through his gear one last time, the tall blonde found comfort by just sitting on the ground next to his cot. His white tank top smeared with black streaks and grease. The ever present amount of sweat glistened off his brow. He found it calming to just be able to sit there and slowly polish and sharpen his family sword knowing full well that this peace won’t last forever. For the time Victor would simply do this and meditate alone until someone came to get him or wanted to talk.
if its stupid but it works its not stupid.
well I don't think ill be able to post before I leave... so I guess Gird kind of disappears in the brush and no one can find him?
