Hitomi gladly let Acion and Dulga go to a clear space, ready to begin sparring. She was glad that they didn't have to address the picture. Nevertheless, she was a bit put out. Why can't she ever have a normal conversation with Acion? Why does one of them always need to be topless, or shown an embarrassing picture of the other, or busy, or with company? It was just her luck to develop a crush on a boy and then never get a good opportunity to actually talk to him!

Mamoru then approached Hitomi, and offered her some...milk...? Hitomi's face betrayed that she thought this behaviour very strange, but her curiosity was piqued, so she took the bottle. "Well, I mean, I'm not going to lie, it's always a fear of mine that my horns might break in training one day, because I don't know if they grow back, and they're half my entire quirk from a combat standpoint. So, thanks for this." she replied to Mamoru, before she took a sip and tried to decide whether or not she liked the taste.

"You're Akasha-san, right? I'm still trying to learn everybody's names. I'm not actually here to train, but it might not be that bad an idea. What about you? What are you here for?"

It had been a very busy few days for Akane. Hospital paperwork, letters from angry parents, many Heroes among them. bad publicity. Press. And who better to try to smooth over the situation, and be the voice on the phone, assuring everyone that the students were safe from Villains, than a villain? At their school? In contact with them 5 days a week. Mako has seen entire newspaper articles, some even front page, about her, and why she still had a job after students under her care and protection were attacked by Villains. 'Were they friends of hers?' one paper had reported.

And the other members have staff had noticed Mako just...wasn't the same, the past few days. She wasn't her foxish, sneaky, sly grinning self, ready to delight in the embarrassment of some poor student. She had the support of all of them, having earned their trust through her hard work, high spirits and genuine care and passion for the job. The support of the students was another story. Details of the attack had spread and were now common knowledge, and when she called students, quite often they were either scared of her, suspicions of her, or resentful of her, or all three. The worst part was that Jean-Luc wasn't calling back. She understood that he'd probably be busy, though.

That's why she didn't appear to be looking pleased when Lysander came to the front desk. His pranking of Amane, and that whole indicent with the newsteam, were very entertain and both events had briefly brought the sparkle back to her eyes. She sat up, and managed an empty smile. "Mister Mordred-san," she greeted him with a shaky English accent, in at attempt at her usual playful demeanour. "How can I help you?"
Collab; Api meets Heidi

Location: Ashford Institute Library

Featuring: Gunnar 'Api' Grimsson @RumikoOhara & Heidi Williams @Silver Carrot

Api leaned back in one of the Library's big cushy drawing room style chairs studying a White board on which he'd finished writing a hypothetical expansion of Cavendish. He had discovered the bit of physics covered in the dust of waiting for the right moment to be tested and its reasons that engineering couldn't measure to the fine degree necessary to prove the theory. His work was filled with suppositions about gravity 20 - 30 years ahead of the tech presently available and showed how he'd steered the numbers obviously.

Heidi entered the library shortly after, carrying a stack of book so high she was straining to see over the top of it. As she carefully placed them on the 'returning' desk in four equal, stable piles, she smiled sheepishly at the librarian as if to apologize for checking in so many books at once after only checking them out yesterday. With that business concluded, she started heading into the library proper. She used to like reading before her mutation developed, but she had always been a slow reader, going over each page multiple times, carefully. A single book could take her months. Now, she was rattling off all these novels she'd always put off before due to the commitment. She'd also been reading a few books on mutations, but first, she had to read up on genetics and biology, and even some chemistry. She wanted to know more about how this ability worked from a scientific point of view.

Before her mind could turn away from the field of science, Heidi spotted the whiteboard from across the room. She didn't know what that equation was, only that it was likely in the field of physics, and that...she couldn't make sense of it. Well, that wasn't unusual. She'd never have been able to make sense of it. But this time, it's as if a part of her subconscious was trying to figure it out but couldn't add it up. It was like....it was wrong. But Heidi didn't know anything about physics more complex than Newton's laws. Who was she to think that wrong?

Api would notice a small mid-teenage girl approach him timidly, and give a little wave without raising her arm above waist level. She spoke in a clear Edinburgh accent, yet not too strong that he wouldn't understand her. "Hi. Sorry to intrude. I'm Heidi. Excuse me, but can I ask what this equation is?"

Api smiles and looks directly at the new girl "Its an expansion of the Cavendish model using information only I can supply" then he takes a deep breath

"No way to replicate right now because I've got the only tool that can weigh the mass of gravitons, its part of my mutation" He stands and he barely taller than Heidi his blond hair a little long and the color of golden wheat.

Heidi's face lit up as the pieces started to fit. "Ah! That's what was nagging me about it! Sorry. My mutation basically makes my brain a supercomputer. It is not as fun as it sounds. Besides, if you can understant this, you must be very smart, but for real. Oh! My name's Heidi. Heidi Williams. I haven't even been here a week. I'm new."

Api blushed being called smart, he thought of himself as average just better focused on things and when those things made up the understanding of his limits and capabilities he was all eyes and ears. "I am Gunnar, Gunnar Grimsson" says the blond boy from Iceland as he looks at Heidi his expression shifting to puzzled.

"Ah Super Computer? How does that make you a mutant and not simply a Savant?"

Api was sure there was some other reason Heidi was labeled as a Mutant and that her ability was likely so subtle they'd gone with the first evidence presented; her genetics held the marker and they razored it in. She might prove interesting to watch. Eidetic memory connected to Flash memory that might allow her to read every book she could focus on as the pages flipped by. She'd have trouble with the more nuanced portions of science and mathematics

"Well," Heidi started to explain, "I've been pretty average my whole life. In fact, I was terrible at maths at school. But a few weeks ago, this all suddenly started. I knew it was a mutation before I even got tested for the X-gene. I didn't change anything about myself, and it's not as if I'm just a little bit sharper. This ability is overwhelming. I can't slow it down yet. I have to pretty much stop thinking just to talk to people."

"Please don't misunderstand, I am merely curious about the obvious.he says with a gentle laugh
"I have a friend that thinks most people have at least a mild form of telepathic talent such as empathy or actual telepathy and supports the idea with how many people have said they knew their friends or family members were in danger or how twins share thoughts and do so without the X-gene.

Heidi stared blankly at him for less than 0.1 of a second, which was a very long time for her to freeze up nowadays. What was she supposed to say to that? Was he asking for her thoughts on the theory, or just telling her about it for conversation's sake? Did he think it was relevant to their past discussion? Heidi didn't even have any informed opinion on this subject. All she knew was her own mind, but she knew it very well. That was a good starting point. As she started speaking, the rest of her sentence quickly built itself.

"Maybe. All I know is that if our brains had this latent ability, mine should be able to use it at will. I think that if people do have these minor forms of telepathy and empathy, it might not have anything to do with the brain. Who knows? Maybe we have souls, and that's what we use when these things happen. Maybe I myself can use these latent abilities but just don't know how."

Api's smile broadens as things click in his head "I wonder if your boosted brain can learn new languages in minutes, hours, or days? Do you have an Eidetic memory? Can you operate on a subconscious level compiling and combining what you know to reach epiphany, that Eureka moment? Sorry I let my imagination run away at times and thinking how other abilities can be used helps me understand my own; I am a Gravitic Elemental" he says adding the last as if it were trivia

Heidi couldn't help but chuckle at Api's enthusiasm, as well as his actual interest in how her mutation worked, more than just jealousy, or trying to test her with math problems, like her classmates had done. "In order, minutes, yes, and yes. And if I can help you somehow, I'd be more than happy to! I haven't really felt like I've...helped anyone yet, and that's partly why I came here. I mean, what mutant doesn't want to be an X-man?"

Api's quick mind tumbles the information he has been considering and decides to bounce a bit off of Heidi

"I believe people like ourselves try to hard to make it work, to get our abilities to do what we want when what we are doing is akin to learning to walk as a baby. Babies can walk and we can walk without detailed analysis and direction of the act, the more we do it the better we get at it" He chuckles "Practice making perfect and all that rot"

"I know, it's just..." sighed Heidi, "This feels more like learning to walk, spending fifteen years getting used to walking, and then losing your legs and getting them replaced with a rocket. It doesn't work anything like legs used to, you have to learn to move entirely from scratch but only after you first try to forget how to walk with legs, and everyone thinks you must be having an easier time just because you move much faster now. I'll get used to it eventually, I know, but being able to think so many thoughts in a single second hasn't exactly...improved my patience."

"Heidi you need to relax, this isn't the old school rat race so many make it. Who understands how your brain functions except you and lets face it you don't have an owner's manual. Most computers have to wait to be put to work and they aren't gifted by inspiration. You are a living person and your brain built on the brain that has brought the world under its control. I just want to see what you make of it, how you use that power.

You need to focus on a subject that interests you and don't let anyone but yourself pick where it all starts, Science and physics are the things you can learn if you're willing to listen to your heart, to follow the connections."

He wants to tell her more but once more his uncertainty stops him short.

He had a point, but what did interest her? The prespect of knowing lots about science was certainly appealing. Heidi was about to comment on this, but she noticed his pauses. "Hm, are you alright? You keep stopping. What's on your mind?" She asked innocently.

Api thought about it then relented his held back theory "If your mutation is in the Brain it has to be farther reaching than speedy thought. There's Accelerated Perception which could allow you to see things either in abundance or speed. Then there is Causality Perception allowing you to see the way things are connected where to toss in the monkey wrench or how to stop that same wrench causing trouble.

Intuitive Aptitude allowing you to bypass the steady plodding pace of education with a few minutes or hours of observation. I could go on but I believe I spoken as much as my own limited studies can allow me to without speculation."

"I can do all of those things," she replied, "but they're all basically side effects of speedy thought, with a little imagination thrown in. I can't see things faster than anybody else, I can just process them faster. And I can't see the future. I can calculate some things so fast that I'll know what's going to happen before it does, but that's just more speedy thought. And I don't have intuitive aptitude. In fact I might be unable to 'learn' things in a conventional way. I just have perfect hyperthymesia, and the speedy brain to recall and process a memory. Like, If I read a foreign language dictionary, then had a conversation with somebody who spoke that language, I don't actually know that language, but I can still converse by, after each word they speak, remembering the page of the dictionary that word was on.

But you're right. I'm not sure I want to spend all morning talking about me either. What about you? Your mutation was gravity manuplation, right?"

Api smiled at her courtesy and said "Yes I do manipulate gravity, I have managed to learn to fly rather than just hover as I did when I first came here. I am working on using my ability to sense mass to enable me to sense all things within range and in a surrounding globe. Of course while I focus on my power I am also improving my body physically and on my reactive times.

This immediately hooked Heidi's attention and she sat up straight, with sparkling eyes. "You can do all that? Even theoretically, your quirk really does have a lot of uses! You're probably going to be an X-man, huh?"

"We are all Xmen by genetics. My talent makes me a more hands on type but your's is also a wonderful talent." Api said as he looked into her eyes. "Xmen are not warriors alone but mutants and not all things can be solved by force in fact as Sun Tzu said "The greatest victory is that which requires no battle". To achieve that goal requires Intelligence" he said with a chuckle

"Well, of course. The X-men aren't an never were warriors, and a mutant who thought so would be a bad X-man. But not every mutant will be, or can be an X-man. I imagine it would take a lot of training before the staff here would trust us with that kind of dangerous Superhero lifestyle." Heidi didn't glance at her watch, but her eyes defocused for a split second as she calculated how many seconds it had been since she last looked at her watch. "I'm behind my schedule so I should probably go and find the books I came here for, but we should talk about this again."

Natalie Ellis

Natalie felt the tension explode the moment she opened her stupid mouth, and now one of the two men, had started shooting at the giant lizard. She was close enough to see the man on the ground clearly now. He had definitely been shot, so one of these humans was a murderer. Everything new she saw just gave rise to more and more questions. She didn't dare get closer. As strong as she was, bullets would still kill her. The man wouldn't even have to be close to her to end her life. That was infinitely scarier to her than the reptilian. She knew that it would usually be the other way around, but Natalie was anything but usual.

She watched the reptile attack this armed gunman, and the moment he was disarmed, she started to approach the house, and entered the porch. Not a moment too late, either, as she saw the reptile about to kill its prey. "Wait!" she cried out, immediately feeling incredibly stupid. Luckily the reptile stopped, but now it was staring at her. Even now, what she felt wasn't fear, and no fear was showing on her face. Sure, she looked nervous, and sheepish, but her reaction was incredibly understated for how a small young woman should have reacted. The creature shook its head, then picked up the gunman's leg and pulverized it. Natalie winced and looked horrified as she turned away, but again, there was no screaming. Why was this woman behaving so...unorthodox?

The creature looked to the other human, then to her, and backed off. It was almost as if it was telling her to deal with him. She could see its eyes still watching her with what she assumed was curiosity. It was almost as if it was intelligent. Maybe it was. Maybe that lizard was one of the 'superpowered individuals' that had started to crop up in recent years. It was that same trend that cased to shady technology companies conspiring with mob bosses to artificially create superpowered individuals. 'Project Lion'. It was because of this that Natalie both resented Supers, and felt a kinship to them. Oops. She'd just caught herself thinking of Supers as other people again. Deal with it, Nellie. You're a Super now.

Natalie crouched down besides the guy with the sword, and with all the genuine warmth and friendliness of the fast food restaurant employee she was, she tried to talk to him. "Are you alright? Can you tell me what exactly happened here, or do you need some time to calm down? I'll call the police in the meantime."

This snapped the swordsman out of his stupor, and he lunged at Nat as he tried to draw his sword. Before Archie could react to this in any way, and before Natalie could stop herself, Archie would see this skinny, frail-looking woman grab the guy by the neck, lift him off his feet and pin him against the wall. With her other hand, she wrenched his sword out of his grip with a loud pop as she'd snatched it with such force, she'd dislocated his wrist. Her hand squeezed the sword until it snapped clean in two, blood running down the broken blade as this woman had cut her hand on the sharp edge of the sword. She raised her bloody hand in a fist to punch her prisoner. Archie would notice her eyes. They were wide, suddenly terrified, and seemed to be staring miles away, through the man, and the wall..

Before she could land that blow, sanity came back into her eyes, which began to tear up as she let the man go. Just as he was about to bolt, she delivered a swift finger poke to the back of his head and he collapsed, unconscious but alive. She wiped her tears away with her sleeve. This is why getting involved was a bad idea. This is why trying to be a hero was a bad idea. She'd almost killed somebody again. When would she ever learn to always, always keep her head down.

She then remembered her bleeding palm, and the pain it felt. As she winced and sucked air through her teeth, she also remembered she was being watched. She looked back at the reptile, and gave it an incredibly lame little wave. "Hey...Um, should we call the police, or get out of here, or...?"

Hitomi was present in the training room when Tomoe apologized to Acion, and Acion graciously accepted. Of course he did. Was there a better definition of 'Angelic' than Acion Nakamiji? Hitomi didn't think so, but she admitted that she was biased. She had a crush on him. She was glad that Tomoe and herself didn't end up in Acion's room after all. Not because she didn't want to, but that was exactly the problem. Hitomi didn't want to do anything stupid or weird but in that regard she was sometimes her own worst enemy.

The moment Tomoe pulled out her phone, Hitomi felt a wave of primal dread roll through her, far more unpleasant than Sheep Sense. No...She couldn't...not again! Hitomi rushed forward but was too late to stop Acion seeing the picture. He had a good few seconds to stare at it before Hitomi reached them. By then, Tomoe had put the phone away, and left Acion, leaving an out-of-breath Hitomi standing opposite Acion.

"I, uh, don't know what she showed you, but-" Hitomi started to hurriedly gibber, before Dulga approached and challenged the winged boy. "Look, here's literally anything else to focus on! Thank you, Dulga!"

Natalie 'Nelly' Ellis

Walking home from a late shift at the fast food restaurant where she worked, Natalie had heard the gunshots, but ignored them, and carried on walking. She was trusting in habit to pull her away from having to make the choice, for the hundredth time. People were getting hurt, and Natalie had the power to stop them from getting hurt. But she'd been a vigilante before. She'd hunted down criminals before. And...vowing never to use her powers on bad guys again was honestly the best way she could protect people. The people around Natalie needed protecting, but in her mind, they needed protecting from Natalie.

She was unsafe. She was dangerous. When she let her emotions get the better of her, or when she convinced herself it was for the right reasons, and that she was a Hero, all she was really doing was brutally ripping people apart. People who may have made bad choices or done evil things, but wouldn't be around to pay for them. But who did ultimately pay for them? Their friends. Their parents and siblings and partners and maybe even children. And for what? Justice? No. Natalie had come to the realization that she did it out of vengeance, and anger, and frustration. Criminals were the ones who'd kidnapped her, killed her boyfriend and given her this...this horrible power. But it was more than that. She killed criminals because of the resentment that she felt towards life for making her a criminal in the first place. That wasn't fair. She was being a hypocrite. Everybody was better off now that she was practically in hiding.

What Natalie could not just ignore was the otherworldly roar that then ripped through the night's ambiance. That wasn't a dog, or a wolf. It might have been a bear? But there was something about it that made even Natalie's hair instinctively stand on end. The creature that made that sound must be something far, far bigger and more dangerous than anything Natalie had heard round these parts. She turned on her heel and went to go check it out. She was not scared of the source of the noise. It wasn't as if it would have a particularly easy or pleasant time trying to get the best of her. The only thing she was afraid of or cautious of as she got closer, was herself. The source of that roar may be a ferocious beast, but Natalie? She was a monster.

When Natalie finally reached the scene, there was a lot to process. She saw the outline of the creature in the darkness. It was bipedal, had reptilian skin and ten feet tall, and Natalie, for the first time, felt a pang of genuine fear, and an instinctual desire to run, but she steeled herself to it, and walked closer. Now she could see the man, with a sword, looking absolutely terrified. And there was a body on the floor. Did the beast kill it? No. She was now close enough to see that it was a small wound, such as a gunshot or a stab wound. Maybe from that sword? Was this really a simple case of this beast attacking people, or was there more at play here that meets the eye?

"Hey!" Natalie called out to both of them as she got closer. They'd see a rather skinny and frail looking woman in what was without a doubt a fast food restaurant uniform under a knee-length grey winter coat. It was not exactly the most imposing figure, yet even as she spoke in a delicate voice completely devoid of either confidence or authority, she didn't seem to be scared of either of them. "What the hell's going on here? I...don't know and I'm still not sure I wanna know..."

Tomoe had been out for the past few days that had gone by. She had close to no recollection what had happened before she fell unconscious. Only vague dreams lingered about in her mind as she made her way back to her room with a thick bandage covering the entirety of the forehead part of her head. Kiwi had slowly told her what had happened and diagnosed what it had been to her. Tomoe did feel really bad about it all despite knowing what happened. It was such a thing for her to do. With her gaze turned to the ground she softly knocked on the door of their dorm room waiting for the sheep to answer.

It took a few seconds, in which time Tomoe could hear very faint metal music stopping, what sounded like a pair of headphones clattering on wood, and then Hitomi opened the door. She was about to ask 'hello?' but the moment she say Tomoe, she beamed, and flung her arms around her rommie, and hugging her tight, but not too tight. "Tomoe! You're out! And okay!"

Tomoe was squeezed by Hitomi making her glare in irritation a little by two things. She did pat the sheep softly to make it feel like it was all alright now. Tomoe softly spoke unlike her usual self she sounded full of regret and shyness.

"Sorry Hi-chan, sorry for scaring you like that. Did I hurt you anywhere."

Hitomi shook her head, and Tomoe some pats of her own. "I'm fine. Your clone bit my ankle but it never hit me with a serious attack. Really, don't worry about it. You haven't seen me when I lose it. It's...it's far worse than your clone...Anyway!" Hitomi cheerfully yet desperately exclaimed, trying to yank the mood back to happy by force. "You're out, and you're here, and we're both okay. So there's no problem!"

"Hi-chan..."

Tomoe softly sobbed as she tightened the hug and pushed her face deeper onto her shoulder. Tomoe will never want her clone to hurt any of her friends ever again. She will try to get her under control somewhat. When her sobbing bad died down somewhat she let go and sweetly looked up at Hitomi with somewhat teary eyes.

"You can be the first to draw on my bandage now!"

Hitomi gave her friend pats on the back for as ling as she cried on her shoulder, and when she seemed okay enough, let go and looked up at her. Hitomi though it was a cute and quant idea to draw on the bandage, and knew exactly what to draw. Grinning, she took a marker pen from her desk, lifted Tomoe's hair up, and at the side, away from the actual forehead wound, drew a curly sheep horn more or less where Hitomi's were. Underneath she wrote 'get well soon, Tomoe!' followed by a heart.

Unpatiently Tomoe stared up at Hitomi her hands moving and drawing on the bandage. She was doing a lot so she was sort of curious to what she all might be drawing.

"Ugh, it is taking so looong."

Tomoe exclaimed boringly. When Hitomi was done she quickly jogged to the mirror where she could see the signature signing of Hitomi. It was cute, unordinary and specific to who drew it. Tomoe amazingly stared at the bandage for a few seconds before taking a picture of it with her fold phone. She quickly ran back to Hitomi again.

"Hehe, thank you! Next time you break something I'll draw on your bandage!"

Hitomi raised her eyebrow and chuckled. "Jeez, you're almost wanting me to break something now! I'm glad you liked it, anyway. So, what do you want to do now?"

Hitomi asked the pinklet what she would be wanting to do now. Well she did have one thing left to do now.

"I'll go to Acion and sleep there I guess. He must have comfy wings to sleep on."

Hitomi recoiled in shock, as she turned bright red at the thought of Tomoe sleeping on Acion's wings, or Hitomi herself doing the same thing. She shook the thoughts out of her head, but still stammered as she replied to her friend. "S-sleep on Acion's bed? W-why would you do that? Besides, He's N-not even there. Well, probably not."

"He? Well other people their beds smell good and are comfy as well. When you aren't home I use your clothes and bed all the time!"

Tomoe giggled softly as she already started to turn away in order to leave the room. Hitomi was stunned in place for a few seconds, before she came to her senses and rushed to catch up with Tomoe. "Wait, what do you mean? Are you saying you wear my clothes? Tomoe, wait up!"

@Lord Wraith

It's like, rpers didn't want to use the old cliche powers so they gravitated towards a new set of cliche powers. That's why you rarely see anybody with flight, but every superpower rp has at least one fucker with darkness manipulation.
This does admittedly look good and I have characters I'd like to try out. Some I haven't used in a long time. As much fun as it'd be to retool an older version/offspring of one of my BNHA characters to fit this setting, there's a character with super strength who I haven't used in a very long time who'd be a good fit.
