In The Mirror

Appearance
Vanessa has straight, layered faded orange hair reaches only a small length past her shoulders, some locks starting to grow back into it's natural dark brown which she will dye over eventually. Her round-almond shaped eyes are a brown-hazel. She is quite short for a girl of her age standing at 156cm (about 5'1") and doesn't have any chance of growing taller. Over time she has come to accept her short height but that doesn't mean she always embraces it with open arms. She is also quite lean weighing at 48kg (about 105lbs) and has a small amount of muscle on her. She is not one to smile widely therefore hiding her crooked white front teeth. Her skin is slightly tanned and her common out breaks of acne are usually covered under a lauer of make-up

Clothing Style:
Her clothing style is quite simple. She's not a fan of anything flashy or eye-popping nor does she like skirts. It's rare for her to wear address but on the occasion she will. Darker colours (particularly blacks) are ever-present in her clothing choices but all the same she generally doesn't wear all black, commonly pairing her leather jacket or another dark item of clothing with more neutral or toned down colours. As for footwear she generally wears either converse or combat boots.

Likes:

• Music, particularly the more edger and hardcore styles
• The stories of the dead recounting their lives
• History, although she doesn't overly enjoy being involved in wars she loves the retelling of them
• Time alone to think to herself yet she enjoys company every now and again also.
• Horror movies, they don't seem as bad after you listen to some of the stories of certain dead people

Dislikes:

• Snobby, self-indulgent and/or ignorant people
• Overly sweet food
• The Limelight
• Being perceived as something she's not
• Having a nasty prank pulled on her, she has no problem with watching pranks being pulled on others though

• Dying to the fact of not living up to her maximum potential
• She possesses a small fear toward her father, more of a fear to expel more respect than one that stops people dead in their tracks

Habits:

• She often finds herself chewing on her lip when she's nervous. Very rarely she has drawn blood from chewing so hard into it but it has happened a couple of times
• She is often humming to herself softly, she's been told off for it a few times

• She has trouble making eye contact and will often look past the person's head instead of directly at them

On appearance Vanessa can seem gloomy and downright pessimistic. However Vanessa isn't (usually) as gloomy as she seems. She isn't one to smile or laugh often, that's usually something that she only does when she is with her friends alone. She usually like to keep to herself or to a small group of people she's close with. She considers herself a level-head realist but her mind does often wander, sometimes from the likes of daydreaming, sometimes she just gets pushed into deep thought.

Vanessa was never surrounded by a large group of friends, probably never will be. When she was in school she was often that kid everyone would actively avoid for no good reason but at camp she has her father's reputation to thank for it. Vanessa has a big heart and is willing to share it with anyone who bothers to pay her some attention. She is very loyal and cares for her friends deeply, however, in her darkest moments she will push them away. As caring as she is she believes that one should take consequences for their actions and finds it hard to forgive those who mentally or physically hurt her, her family or her friends.

Vanessa is most definitely an introvert and isn't a fan of big parties, or even such gatherings (however she quite enjoys the campfire nights). She's quite intelligent, given not as much as a child of Athena but she was always an A/B student when she was in school. She usually doesn't judge quickly, or tries not to at least, that doesn't always work out for her unfortunately. She's the type of person who listens to both sides of the argument and silently analyses it before coming to a personal conclusion, however, she will be quick to stand up for her loved ones. She is generally mature and responsible but when she is alone with her friends she lets loose a bit, becomes more smiley and cheerful but, even then, she's quite closed up.

Background:
Jane had been widowed almost 2 years when she met Hades that Spring. She had taken her sons Jacob and William (whom were 3 and 4 at the time) to a local cafe for lunch. Hades happened to be seated at the table next to them and William and Jacob (at their wide-eyed naive ages) decided they wanted to talk to the 'sad man' and made attempts to be his friend until their mother intercepted. The 2 got to chatting and meet up a couple of times before falling in love, well at least Jane did.

A few days before spring ended Hades revealed his identity to her and told her that he could not see her again, neither aware Jane fallen pregnant that night.

Nine month later Jane gave a long, painful birth to Vanessa. The family of four were well off enough. Even though all 3 kids always knew Vanessa 'didn't have a dad' they never took that into much thought. Growing up William and Jacob were very protective of their younger sister, of course they often teased and tormented each other as siblings do but if anyone else did so to her they'd have older boys to answer to.

Vanessa's family lived off Jane's deceased husband's earnings (as he was a doctor when he was alive) and always had what they needed. True, they didn't have a luxurious life but they had an education, full stomachs, a roof over their heads and a bit extra for special occasions. However money was getting tighter and tighter by the year and the family couldn't live off of a deceased man's earnings forever. It was evident Jane would have to return to her job as a nurse eventually but there wasn't anyone to look after the kids and at their young age she didn't want them home alone in the evening, that was when she met Michael.

Vanessa was 5 when Jane met Micheal and truthfully she quite liked the man. The two of them married 2 years on and Vanessa always saw Micheal as her father figure and often referred to him as her father other than her stepdad despite keeping her mother's maiden name.

When Vanessa was inching toward her tenth year her mother gave birth to yet another girl, Selina. Despite technicalities Selina was never to be referred to as Vanessa's half sister when she was around or she'd be quick to correct them.

Vanessa's mother passed when she was 11. A storm had hit and the rain pounded the roof of every house, every building and covered every road. Jane was on her way home from her job when the storm hit suddenly, the rain limiting the view of every driver so neither her or the man driving the truck noticed each other until it was too late. Despite the pleas of Jane in her will Micheal decided he couldn't, and didn't want to, care for all the children left to him despite his own by blood and sent the other three kids to a local foster care home as Jane had lost contact with her family years ago. Leaving Vanessa to feel betrayed by the man who had been her father in her eyes for the last few years. Ridden with guilt Micheal would often attempt to send money and presents to the kids but they were always returned, they didn't want anything to do with him.

When she was almost 12 she first summoned a ghost from the underworld inust outside her foster-care home. It was an accident, obviously, but of course, how are you meant to explain that to the other tweens and teens who you shared a house with? So entitling her a freak they avoided any contact with her if possible but Vanessa didn't care, this opened a new possibility for her, maybe she could see her mother, at least long enough to say goodbye. As much as she tried, however, it never worked. What Vanessa didn't know was the random deaths and brutal killings in the area weren't coincidence, although she could not summon a ghost for an overly long period of time with each spirit another monster was detecting her and, when she was 16 her father approached her and quickly swept her away to Olympus Academy.

Godly Information

Godly Parent:Hades; God of death and precious gems and metals. Hades is the Lord of the Underworld.

Demigod Abilities:
Necromancy: Vanessa can summon 'ghost'/spirit from the Underworld. This is her strongest power, yet she still has a lot to learn. She can only summon one spirit at a time and, after a longer period of time, it starts to drain her energy. Of course, it's not a simple 'I want a spirit now' and one appears, she needs to focus hence making it difficult for her if people are around her and making sounds. She generally has to be within a few metres of the spirit's grave or place of death to summon them, she's working on summoning ghosts from further distances in hopes to see her mother once more.

Wealth detection: Vanessa only discovered she had a power relating to the wealth and riches part of Hades' power about halfway through her first year at Olympus Academy (was in also her prior year) so she is still weak when in comes to powers to do with such. Currently she can detect precious gems and metals in the soil below her. It has to be a decent-sized cluster for her to detect it unless she's really focus but she's sure she will improve. She cannot, however, summon these metals/gems and is unsure as to whether she ever will.

Early Judgement: Upon a person's last breath, as their soul departs their bodu for the underworld, Vanessa can predict, almost always accurately, where in the underworld they will go.

Relationship With Godly Parent:
Her relationship with her father is very much a love/hate one. On one meeting they would get along well for a father and daughter that only met recently and be happy in each other's company, or as much as you could belonging to the underworld, though quite often on the next meeting they can lost get in bickering and fighting. As much as Vanessa admires her father she fears him slightly.

In Depth Appearance:
standing at 5'10" Peter is hot or, at least, he likes to think so. With a well-toned body he finds a lot to brag about. Every part of him seems to warn of trouble. His hair is dark brown colour that's often mistaken for black and covered in way too much hair gel, he's very proud of his hair and won't let anyone touch it. His fair skin seems unblemished, however it wasn't so as a teen, and his face is clean-shaven, Peter makes sure of that. His eyes are a chocolate brown and seem to always possess a twinkle that says he's causing trouble. His lips are a pale pink and seems to alway possess a smirk or a coy smile even if the don't actually physically.

Clothing Style:
Petere tends to wear quite casual clothes, jeans or shorts and sneakers (he need the right shoes for running away). Though as far as shirts go it's hard to judge what he'll. One day it might a casual top of a calmer colour then the next day he might bound around in a brightly coloured Hawaiian shirt. In formal situations Peter is one who's totally turn up in golden or purple or patterned suit. Even though his clothing is casual it's not odd for him to walk around Olympus Academy in something completely out there. He wears a silver chain around his neck and has a thing for his black rimmed gasses with no lenses.

Technically Peter is 21 but mentally? He's a 5 year old. Fart jokes, terrible childish comebacks and a distaste for 'spoil sports' Peter might as well be a child. A child who has the knowledge to create and pull off pranks and, possibly most dangerously, has an access to liquor. Peter seems to find everything funny regardless on whether he still should or not. He is very childish and can rarely rise to acting his age, whether he be in classes, in casual settings, getting a talking to from Mr D or whatever there's no doubt that he's probably still not acting his age. Even at 21 he's still a class clown.

Peter is exuberant. Loud and wild he never seems to not have that cheeky grin on his face except when he's laughing. He's a lot of fun to be around but a little difficult to handle. His ego makes it no easier either. Peter's ego is sky-high. He is very full of himself and will often comment on his body or 'amazing personality'. It's aspect he shares with the males of the Aphrodite cabin, wven if they aren't technically related, he even greatly fear disfigurement.

Much like many Hermes' kids Peter is a prankster. He considers himself prankmaster of camp half-blood and has pulled off countless pranksover his years at camp half-blood and almost everyone has become a victim. When making pranks Peter takes in very little consideration in the effect thwy'd have on others, as long as he's amused he sees no problem.

Background:
Taylor McMillan was only 17 when she fell pregnant after a Summer fling, unbeknownst to her that her Summer romance was with the god Hermes himself. Scared, ridiculed and neither willing or ready to care for a child she quickly found a couple to adopt her unborn son. Peter's adoptive parents were always straight-up about Peter's adoption, they didn't look like him anything like him anyway, but still, to this day, claim the day they first held him was the best day of their lives.

Even though he never knew his real mother Peter lived quite a happy childhood. Although it wasn't a luxurious life the family of three lived happily and more than enough of their needs covered. Most importantly of all they were able to invest a lot of time in each other. Even though he doesn't see them often anymore Peter still considers his parents his best friends.

It took Hermes weeks to convince Peter's parents to get him Olympus Academy. Even though he had proved that he was Peter's father what sort of man leaves his son for 16 years then waltzes in telling his parents how to raise him. Eventually they figured it was the best place for their son and, with heavy hearts, let him go.

Hermes and Peter get on famously. Even though Hermes does have to send him warnings through abstract god communication but, in the few times they have met, the pair are often laughing over stories. Peter doesn't seem to hold any beef against his father for his lack of appearance in his life.

Godly Abilities:
Peter can sense and magically pick almost any lock, leaves him a great advantage when he's prank, whether in the process if it or trying to escape the angry victim.
Cunning: Don't take that childishness for stupidity, although he may not be achievable academically he's very sly and cunning.
