The year X792 had only just begun when Zane decided to start his own guild, White Gull. The name would represent the goal he had in mind, which was freeing every innocent human being from the dark guild Catamount. The inhabitants of the island Kaia had suffered for such a long time that some couldn't even remember anymore how the good times were. Catamount had gone too far and Zane knew that he wasn't the only one who thought that way. The problem was that most people were too scared to try and change the situation they were in. Even the people who could use magic were to scared to train and grow stronger. It took him a long time to convince some of the mages to join his guild, but finally he had convinced enough people to hold their first meeting. Most people wouldn't even know each other, but maybe that was for the best. That way they would be able to start with some strangers building a new home for themselves instead of solving issues.

His eyes were gazing at the glowing stars high in the sky. The day of the first gathering had finally arrived. Well, actually one could better call it 'the night' instead of 'the day'. It was too dangerous to do something like that in broad daylight. If Catamount knew about it, they would destroy every single human being who was even thinking about joining White Gull. Besides, most mages that would come to the meeting were probably beginners, so at that moment none of them would even come close to a member of the dark guild. It had to be kept a secret between the inhabitants of Kaia.

It was a beautiful night, perfect for the occasion. Zane could hear some of the Forest Vulcans making sounds, but he was far enough to avoid getting noticed by them. While sitting on one of the rocks, his left hand reached for the small notebook he had been carrying in the pocket of his pants. Of course it was too dark to be able to draw anything, but just looking at some of his own drawings with the light that the stars gave him calmed him down. He'd had nightmares several nights in a row. Some told him that no one would show up, while others told him that Catamount knew about the secret. Some even told him that the members of his new guild would be fighting all the time or that they would be too weak.

A deep sigh left his throat. Nothing would be gained by him losing trust in his own ideas and the people he had asked to help him achieving his goal. He needed to have trust in his new family... and in himself. His white hair was dancing in the wind, while his glance moved to the path, which was several meters further from where he was sitting. Never did he know that the forest was such a beautiful place. It would be perfect to gain inspiration for creating new beings. Even though the island wasn't big, he had never been there. When his parents were still alive, they always told him to stay away as far as possible from the forest. Several years had passed since they died, but he couldn't go against their will, so he kept on staying away from that place. Well, until the night of the first gathering.

His shoulder was still hurting from the work he had done that day and he had a hard time keeping his eyes open. The others would probably be just as tired he was. Would they even do the effort to come to the forest at that hour while being so exhausted? Maybe they would prefer to stay in bed. He had noticed that some of them were pretty enthusiastic about his plan, but he couldn't decide how important it was for them to take part in it. He had a hard time trusting people, even the most innocent ones. Would that mean that being a leader didn't suit him?

He sighed deeply for a second time. He couldn't think that way. He simply couldn't. He needed to have faith... for his father, for his mother, even for his dead twin brother. He pulled the drawing of Hunter out of his pocket and stared at it for quite some time. Deep in his heart he wanted to summon him, but he knew that he would probably pass out if he did so. It wasn't the time to become sentimental, he needed to keep his cool. The others could be there any minute. He closed his eyes for a second to calm himself down and put the drawing and the small notebook in his pocket again. 'Have trust, have trust,' he kept on whispering to himself, 'have trust, have trust.'

His guild mark is located in his neck at his left side and it is the same color as his eyes.

Although Zane doesn't trust people very easily, that is not seen in his behaviour. To people he doesn't know very well, he seems like a very spontaneous guy. He talks to them like they are good friends of him. People often have a good impression of him. However, people who do know him well describe him as a silent, paranoid guy who means well. He protects the people he cares about, but he doesn't let them know that he cares about him. It's like he won't say it, but you know that he cares.

He likes to sit outside and draw in silence. When he doing so, people hardly ever disturb him as they know that he will become angry if they do. When he isn't drawing, people often go to him to talk about their problems as he won't interrupt them or tell their secrets to other people.

...to draw, of course. He is very good at it too, otherwise his magic wouldn't come in very handy.

...freedom. He doesn't want Catamount to control everyone and everything, feeling free is very important to him. Walking through the forest, swimming in the sea, all those things you do in nature that make you feel free.

...everything that has something to do with water. That is also why his first being uses water magic.

He dislikes...

...people who control others like they aren't even human beings. Because of Catamount, the guild that controls everything and everyone, Zane became a bit paranoid.

...losing his cap. He always wears it, because that way he can cover his papers when he wants to draw and it is raining. When he loses his cap, he starts to panic.

...fighting. He doesn't want to hurt other people, because he can't make a difference between innocent people and bad people, so that possibility exists that he hurts an innocent human being. He only uses his 'Drawn Paralysis' spell when he is sure that the enemy is a bad person. If he isn't sure about it, he doesn't uses the spell as it takes away the enemy's freedom.

His goal is to defeat Catamount, that is what he lives for.
Catamount took his father, his mother and even though nobody told him it, he was sure that Catamount had something to do with his brother's death. The timing isn't right, but he was sure that they did something, which causes his mother to have a lot of stress and it was that stress that killed Hunter. His theory isn't based on logic, but more on his paranoia.

His biggest fear is that the other members of White Gull are using him, just like Hunter and Catamount. Can he trust those people? They are strong enough to help him defeat Catamount, or at least they can become strong enough to help him with that. However, he doesn't know who he can trust and who he can't trust.

Imagination Magic

Imagination Magic is a type of Spatial Magic, which allows the user to create their own beings from their imagination.
The beings have a physical form, which means that they can get hurt and tired from fighting.
However, they are not able to die on Earth if the user still has magic left.
The being is automatically teleported towards the world he lives in, where he can regain his power.
If the user does not have enough magic to transport his spirit back, the being will be able to die.
If the user dies, its beings will die with him or her and the world will disappear.

The creation of the first being consumes a lot of magic as the user also has to create a world between Heaven and Earth.
The world will be used as a living place for all the beings that the user will create.
The world looks like a desert after it is created.
The strongest of the users of Imagination Magic can adapt the world to their liking.
There exists one world for every Imagination mage.
That is why the first being that is created, is often a small and weak one.
The creation of a being will always consume a lot of magic, but the effort it takes becomes less after a world is created.

To be able to use Imagination Magic, the user has to have an Imagine.
An Imagine is a special pen.
When the user draws with an Imagine, the drawing comes to live.
The amount of Imagines on Earth is limited, so one is often gained from parents or other family members.
However, an Imagine will not react to any kind of mage.
For someone who does not have Imagination Magic, it will be a pen like any other.

There is a rumour among Imagination mages.
After you create a being that is stronger than a mage from class S, your Imagine turns into a gold color.
It is unknown if the rumour is true and what the golden Imagine will do.
Another rumour says that creating new beings will become very easy and will not consume that much magic anymore.

Spells

- Drawn Paralysis: This spell allows the user to transport the clothes of his enemy to somewhere between Earth and another universe. As the clothes of the user's enemy will be stuck between two worlds, the enemy will not be able to move as his clothes won't move along with him. One won't see a difference as the clothes are still visible, but it will surely slow down the enemy. The user uses this spell by taking his Imagine and by drawing the enemy's clothes in the air. The drawing needs to be very detailled to work, that is why this spell isn't used often.

- Lively Picture: This spell allows the user to make his drawing come to life. The user simply has to draw something with his Imagine and the spell will work. However, the drawing needs to have a specific form. You can't create a landscape, but you can create an object, an animal or even a human being.

Created Beings

Cecily Waters

She is very easy to summon and has a good character. She will do anything that Zane asks her to do as she likes to come to Earth, so she wants Zane to have a good impression of her in order to be summoned often. Zane isn't strong enough yet to change the world she lives in, so it is still a desert. As she uses water magic, the desert isn't her favorite place to be.

Hunter Kingston

Zane was supposed to have a twin with the name Hunter Kingston. However, his brother died before he was even born. As Zane had always felt quite lonely and as if he wasn't complete without his brother, he tried to create him. The thing is: Zane wasn't good enough as an Imagination Magic user yet to be able to create an adult human being with good powers. That is why Hunter disappears two minutes after being summoned, leaving Zane exhausted. It is unknown, even to Zane himself, what Hunter can actually do. The only thing he knows as that he has a bad character and that he takes every opportunity to be able to smoke. The aren't any sigarettes in the world he lives in, so sometimes he comes to Earth himself, without being summoned, which sometimes causes Zane to pass out out of nowhere.

He is part of the first group, which has to help with building a place to stay for Catamount.

His father and mother, Jacob Kingston and Jenna Collins, were murdered by some of the members of Catamount, because they wanted to protect Zane. They wanted him to have a happy childhood, they wanted him to be able to play instead of being a slave for a dark guild.
His twin brother, Hunter Kingston, died before he was even born.

When Zane was five years old, his father told him about Hunter. He was so sad and depressed that he ran away from home. He didn't come back for almost two weeks. As he was still a child, he didn't know how to raise enough money to buy food. He didn't want to go home to his warm and comfortable bed, he was too angry to do so. That is why his grandfather from his father's side, Frederick Kingston, put food next to him on the ground and covered his body with a blanket to avoid him becoming sick. He did all that while Zane was asleep, so he wouldn't know that it was him who did it. If he would have known, he wouldn't have taken the food and would have used the blanket to sleep.

When Zane was nine years old, his grandfather died from cancer in his blood. Zane became sad and depressed again, until his father gave him something to remind him of Frederick. Zane's father didn't know what it was himself, he thought it was just a normal pen. However, Frederick never went somewhere without it, so it seemed to be something special. Two years later, Zane discovered that it was an Imagine.

He always puts the pen in his pocket at the right side of his pants and always puts his right hand in his pocket, so he can feel that it is still there. It took him another three years to create his first being, Cecily Waters. However, he wasn't satisfied with that. He wanted to finally feel complete. That is why, at the age of sixteen years old, he created his second being. That was Hunter Kingston. However, he isn't good enough yet to be able to use Hunter. Hunter knows that himself and uses Zane for his own good.

In the continent of Giltena, there is a small island called Kaia. Approximately fourty percent of the inhabitants are mages, the rest are normal human beings. The people who live at the island do not have a single clue about what is going on between the mages of Ishgar and the mages of the Alvarez Empire, they are still leading their lives like usual.

However, a dark guild called Catamount was founded five years ago and they were so strong that none of the other mages could win against them. They made every single human being their slave, both mages and humans without magic. At the moment, the inhabitants are divided in three groups based on where they live. The first group has to build a new place for the guild to stay at the north side of the island, because one of the members of the guild has destroyed the building while doing some training. The second group has to fight against the Forest Vulcans at the south side of the island. The Forest Vulcans want to invade the island, so the mages have to fight against them almost every day to keep them in the forest. However, some of the members of Catamount watch the mages of the second group, because if they become too strong, they can become a thread to the threat to Catamount. The third group is responsible for growing the food at the east side of the island.

Zane, 19 years old, lives on the north side of the island, so he belongs to the first group. He recently discovered that he has the ability to use magic, so that gave him the idea to found a new guild. A guild consisting of mages who will train together with the goal of defeating Catamount. Opinions about him founding a guild are divided. Some normal human beings think that it is awesome and sometimes ask them to do something for them in return for money, while others think that it is stupid or dangerous. Some mages want to join the guild, while others are just making a joke out of them.

The roleplay will start at the moment that all the members are gathering in the forest at the south side of the island. As the members of Catamount can't know that a new guild will be created, they gather at midnight. All of the members are scouted by Zane himself, so a lot of them might not know each other.

Things you should know

• The new guild will be called White Gull, because gulls are the symbol of freedom and Zane wants to free everyone from Catamount's dictatorship. The color white is added, because it means innocence. When Zane was young, he constantly asked his parents what the people had done to Catamount that they were so angry at them. Never did he get an answer, so he chose his own: everyone is innocent, the members of Catamount are the ones who are wrong.
• All of you will be playing mages who are scouted by Zane.
• You can't be too powerful, all the mages of White Gull are beginners at using magic.
• You can create a new type of magic, but you have to explain it to me and get permission BEFORE filling in the character sheet.
• Romance is allowed, but smut is not.
• Do not kill someone's character without their permission.
• Do not control someone else's character without their permission.
• Be able to write at least two paragraphs with good grammar (I mean that other people must be able to understand your post without putting in much effort), this is the minimum. You should also write this amount when you are in dialogue with someone.
• The usual rules: be nice, etc.
