Sorry for the absence. I'm gonna need to write a post for ShiZhen, but she drops out. Feel free to go on ahead to the fight section. ShiZhen will be down for the count.

ShiZhen Fang

ShiZhen had never been very athletic. Despite her ability to meld her understanding of physical chemistry and her elemental abilities, that weakness was showing through now. It was a miracle she had made it as far as she did, given her general lack of stamina. She had lived through each upward step she had taken to get this far, hyper-focusing on her every action. There was no going on 'autopilot' for the complex maneuver she was doing. A mix of numbing cold and naive obliviousness had allowed her to somewhat ignore what was happening to her body. The task alone had consumed her, and despite her shivering, and the dull cold that penetrated her, she felt no emotion: no annoyance, no anger, no sadness. She could have thought how difficult, unfair, or inhumane this test was, but the thought hadn't crossed her mind. Yet seeing herself near the top broke her out of her delirium. Suddenly a wave of negative emotions hit her. Panic, thoughts of failure, hope turning to despair. Could she make it? They say that in a journey of a thousand steps, the last step was the hardest. Did ShiZhen have the resolve to finish?

Haste makes waste. Such is the fate of those who lack confidence, that in their desire to prove themselves, they lose caution. ShiZhen had lifted her foot to refreeze it again against the wall of ice. She did not give it enough time to freeze completely. Putting her weight on it to lift herself up, the ice thin ice she had created shattered, causing her to lurch downwards. This caused several things to happen. The sudden drop caused her to lose her concentration on the layer of water she kept around her body to keep herself insulated from the cold, at least as much as was possible. With the water falling from her, leaving many tiny droplets evaporating from the wind, her temperature dropped tremendously. Since her hands were safely frozen to the ice wall, she was saved from falling, but the sudden movement wreaked havoc on her hands. Already cold, wet, and blistered, the sudden slip caused her hands to scrape against the insides of their tiny ice prisons, breaking raw skin in multiple places. ShiZhen screamed, but her voice was carried away by the cold winds. She looked in horror as the frozen handholds slowly filled with her warm blood and dripped down the mountainside.

ShiZhen was tired, so tired. Heat left through her wind-chilled skin and through the blood that escaped her fingers and palms. Her mind was exhausted from the heightened sense of awareness that she had had to maintain during this long, arduous climb as well as from the concentration required to freeze and refreeze water constantly. Dangling from her hands, laying against the side of the mountain, ShiZhen wanted nothing more than to sleep. Just a quick nap, to recover her stamina. Her hands didn't even hurt anymore, after all. When she woke, she would have the presence of mind to finish the climb. She just needed to close her eyes for..but...a...moment...
Sorry for the short post, but it gets things moving along.
"Sorry... Is there a club or something meeting here? I might have found something that someone lost..."

Rana Haq

Rana looked up at Stella with piercing, cold, dead eyes. "...don't know..." she said monotonously, before heading right inside. A few steps into the room, Rana added, "...I received a message..."

Seeing Mr. Nishiki inside, Rana pulled out her cards. "...these...?" She gestured, pointing them towards the teacher. She suddenly turned towards Soleil, wondering if the 'lost item' that she was returning were also cards, and suddenly, something didn't feel quite right.
Sorry for the short post, just getting my Eileen caught up despite my absence.
Eileen Fang AKA Justice Violet and Judge Cinnamon

7:35PM Driving to Short Distance from Police Bar

@Hero @RabidAnubis

As Justice SolarFlare climbed to the roof of Eileen's car, Eileen began slowing down and heading to the side of the road, turning on her emergency lights for good measure. Suddenly, by some fluke, the monster dove straight at her as she was coming out of the car, slashing her arm. Eileen screamed as Fiona finished off the monster.

"Lily..." Eileen panted, holding her arm, and recognizing that she needed medical attention. Looking back at the smoldering ruin of Fiona's car, many, many yards away, she noticed that the plastic monster didn't seem to be coming after them.

"The monsters that haven't been killed are fleeing," Judge Cinnamon transmitted, "Do not pursue, regroup and we can debrief."

"C-can you take us to the bar?" Eileen asked Fiona, suggesting that she drive Eileen's car. Eileen rarely sustained an injury of this magnitude as she was usually suited up prior to an engagement. She was also rather crestfallen that she had not had the opportunity to actually suit up and relive her glory days. Wordlessly, she crawled into the passenger seat, still cradling her arm, and giving the Judge time to move out of her way so she wouldn't sit on him. Eileen had been useless today, what else was new?
Sorry, busy weekend. May not be able to get a post up until Monday :(

ShiZhen Fang

ShiZhen could feel the cold of the surrounding slowly seep through the layer of water she had wrapped around herself. As a thick layer, it insulated her, but if she let it go, the beads of moisture that remained on her would evaporate with the breeze, cooling her faster than you can say hypothermia. Yet unlike some of her classmates, ShiZhen sucked at creating and manipulating ice.

The ground rumbled under her feet as a section of the glacier further away calved, splitting from the main piece and crashing into the water. In front of her was a pyramid of ice leading up to a platform that led to what she believed was the exit. The pyramid wasn't exactly sheer, but it's slipperiness would make scaling it unassisted impossible. She took a deep breath to calm herself, yet even that proved difficult as the cold irritated her throat and almost sent her into a coughing fit. She walked up to the base of the pyramid and tried to remember her lessons.

"The trick is directing the water. Not forcing it."

"Perhaps repelling water might not be a good start for you just yet. Close your eyes and focus on the water around you, flowing free, until you can hear it in your mind. When that happens just imagine it collecting over your hands instead of away from them."

Holding her hands coated in a layer of water over to the pyramid, she touched the water on her palms to the cold surface. She tried to 'listen' to the water. Given her understanding of chemistry, she tried to form a mental image of water molecules bouncing around, hitting the frozen surface, transferring their kinetic energy into it, slowing down, coming to a stop, and forming beautiful hexagonal lattices. A small crackling sound and the feel of cold on her hands prompted her to open her eyes to see that the water that had coated her hands was now frozen to the surface of the pyramid. She smiled involuntarily, proud that it had worked, amazed that she was able to minimally achieve what came so easily to her ice-based classmates.

Now for the hard part. Pulling her hands out, she re-coated them with water and reached higher up on the pyramid. Closing her eyes, she re-visualized the freezing water. It worked again. She shakily placed one foot on the frozen water she had created earlier, seeing if it would hold her weight. It didn't, snapping into ice powder the moment she stepped on it. Her idea to constantly create footholds and handholds for herself to clamber up the pyramid ended in failure.

She tried something else. She coated her right foot in water and pressed her foot against the pyramid. She closed her eyes and thought hard. Opening them, she saw a large chunk of ice had frozen her foot to the pyramid. Okay. Next foot. Lifting her left foot up, she planted it against he pyramid, but higher than the first foot. She closed her eyes. She opeend them. Now her left foot was successfully frozen to the pyramid. Good. She did the same with her hands, freezing them to the pyramid as well. Trying to keep her weight evenly distributed across her left foot, and both of her hands, she tried to thaw her right foot, while simultaneously trying to break free of the ice. Snap. It worked. With her right foot free, she raised it up and pressed it against the pyramid again, but at a higher point. And re-froze it. ShiZhen had made it one foot up the pyramid. Her plan now was to alternately sticking and unsticking her extremities to the pyramid, allowing her to 'gecko'-climb her way up. But each time she had to re-coat a limb in water, her insulated layer got colder. After all, she was freezing the water, leaving it behind, and drawing moisture in from the surrounding cold air to replenish. The question was, did she have the stamina to make it all the way up like this? Did she have the concentration to constantly freeze and unfreeze water, an elemental technique that she had just learned moments ago? Would she be too cold to reach the top, given how slowly she was going, and how with each step, she gave up more and more heat? Her fingers and toes were already quite numb.
