I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.
Right now, neither of my gods trust Gammaton. Ferron, because he trusts nobody, and Quill because he values freedom above all else, and the law is just a barrier between him and what he wants to do.
Yeah, no worries in that department. Your characters at least, haven't been trying to undermine Gammaton with no actual knowledge of what Gammaton's up to, such as create unnecessary countermeasures for the flies, or simultaneously 'getting the idea' to try creating a 'counter-alliance' against Gammaton without IC knowledge that Gammaton is starting a General Assembly.
Also, your characters haven't auto-dodged, auto-hit, auto-blocked, auto-teleported, or effortlessly physically immobilized another god or creation, so you're all good in my book.
Full disclosure, the spy flies were meant to keep tabs on the goings-on of the world, not to spy on fellow gods. I should put in a creation explanation for the flies, but their movements are not controlled by either Gammaton or Iva'Krorh, and I doubt they can even enter a god's realm naturally, and even if they did, I don't think that Gammaton or Iva'Krorh's connection with the flies can traverse planes of existence. Gammaton is actually most concerned with mortals, for reasons that will be explained at the General Assembly.
Also, Gammaton has made no threatening gesture IC. Are other gods just that fearful of his potential? Or is this metagaming I smell?
Dieselpunk rushed over to catch up with Midnight, who was in hot pursuit of the archer. Fortunately, Midnight wore armor, so it didn't seem like the boxing glove arrow left any permanent damage. Still, chasing down the little fucker was probably going to be more effort than it was worth.
"Hey Midnight, I think 'Time's Up', she said, referring not only to the mission, but also to the encroaching limits of her own quirk. "We should get back to the trucks. Shame we didn't get more of these kids, but seriously, these White Skull lackeys were pretty useless. Let's hope Zion, Verd, and Doc had more success." She wondered if the plan had succeeded? At least on her front, she could see the media spinning it in such a way as to portray that the archer, winged girl, and speedster fended off an army of villains; that despite being fledgling students, their minimal heroic training had given them the ability to fight off hardened criminals. Wouldn't this go counter to the expected effect? Wouldn't this give people more confidence in the necessity of hero society and hero schooling? In the end, she had to hope the others had a better time of it.
Dieselpunk got down on all fours and a car door opened up in Midnight's direction, with makeshift steps leading into a driver's cabin located in a conspicuous hump on her back at the base of her neck. "Hop in and let's ride, partner!"
Given the jamming, Legion was racked with a moment of indecision. Legion had to establish communications with the team at any cost, but worried about being scanned. The moment passed, as Legion realized that with communications jammed, the only way the ship would be spotted is through visual confirmation, so unless the enemy was looking up, the ship could probably slip fairly close to the battlefield without incurring too much wrath. And most weapons large enough to target and damage a ship tended to rely on computerized aiming, which would also likely be subject of the jamming. With the decision made, Legion had the nanite at the helm lower the ships altitude, hovering over the Circle of Hell, out of rocket-propelled grenade range, but close enough for the next step.
Another nanite maneuvered one of the ships searchlights to point down to where Captain Natasha and the others most likely entered the ship, and started flashing the searchlight in Morse pattern:
"Comms jammed. Respond in kind."
This message repeated ceaselessly, while another nanite moved the ships outer cameras around, visually scanning for any hostiles that might be trying to take potshots at the ship. If necessary, legion would take non-lethal action to neutralize any and all threats to the ship.
I'm thinking Midnight and Dieselpunk should just give up on the rest of the students then. But I don't recall if we were actually given a plan for what to do after? Or did White Skull intentionally leave the team in the dark?
Maybe send some thugs as couriers to tell Midnight and Diesel to fall back, and we'll skedaddle.
Mari nodded in agreement at Minami's suggestion to exchange contact info, and did so with whoever among 'Team Teamwork' was willing to exchange with her. Though she did wonder if it wouldn't be easier then, to do as the USB-tailed boy suggested, but the girl with the glasses turned down the offer, and before long, the test had commenced.
Mari closed her eyes in silent introspection as the cacophony of voices assaulted her ears. If only heroes actually could hear the screams of the multitude, would one have come swooping to her rescue? Probably not, her screams had been sufficiently silenced when her face was pushed into the dirty sink water. Mari opened her eyes and returned to the present. Her fellows had started heading off in various directions. "Remember to keep in touch!" she called out, unsure if they could hear her in the thick fog, "Call if you need help! I've pledged to keep all rescue pairs protected. If you hear a harmonica, then help is on the way!"
She took some time to collect her thoughts and to get a general idea where everyone was heading. In the end, it made the msot sense for her to head towards the central area, so she could stay close to the other pairs. As it turns out, Houki and the Minami were headed in the same direction as well. Turning to the two that were still next to her (Kaito and Axel), she said, "Feel free to come with."
Catching up with Minami and Houki, Mari looked around at the devastation, and realized that this area was ideal for someone with a strength quirk, something the group lacked. The girl with the glasses had mentioned turning things to ash. But would it be enough to clear the rubble that had buried all these victims? The catgirl did mention having extra strength. Despite having a mobility quirk, the difficult terrain was less than ideal for Mari, whose strength lay in running in a straight line.
"Nekoyama-san, you'll have to lead. Not only is this area easiest for you to traverse, but you're probably the only person who could dig someone out of the rubble by yourself. The rest of us, if we work together, can probably move more stable debris, like fallen cars and such. I...I can run fast, and maybe kick things really hard, but as it stands, I'm probably only good for ferrying victims back to the bus." Mari bit her lip. She wanted to help civilians, but she felt that her quirk was really only useful for fighting, if that.
OK guys, sorry for the delay, Mari's firin' up her engines and kicking her ass into gear.
Just to keep things organized in my brain, I created a map:
All characters are accounted for (including V1 and V2, villains) except for Mari and Kaito (who I know have not moved), and Axel, whose whereabouts are unknown to me @I Need A Name.
My plan currently, is to have Mari stay in Zone 2 near the bus, despite having a mobility quirk, so that she's generally close to the other "Team Teamwork" peeps and can rush over to help if they get attacked by a villain or, heaven-forbid, another student playing dirty.
I just realized I misspelled Orimura
EDIT:
God, I misspelled Sakimoto too...
Gonna head to Zone 5, since there are no dummies in Zone 2, and it keeps Mari close enough to the other teams if she needs to rush to their aid as she promised.
