Seems the big wait is for Roma then.
Who are we waiting on in posts?
No worries.

To some people, Montag Detectives LTD looked nothing more than a half-baked shamble, a desolate attempt to salvage something that should have died off some time ago. It would have been fitting if it met that fate, as fitting as the grim and grimy atmosphere that long since overtook New Haven. Despite the fancy name and prospect of promise, the whole place somehow just felt dirty. Maybe it was the bearing pressure of hard times on its inhabitants or the, literal, dark forces at play here just beyond their sight. It was a shithole all the same.

But that perspective was only held by some people. To Jane, the warehouse looked like proverbial heaven. “Oh wow, so cool!” she said to no one in particular, unphased as foamy spray from a nearby dock wave almost soaked her completely were it just a few feet closer. She spent some time marveling at the wretched piece of a building before finally entering the warehouse. This was to be her new office after all so it was always better to look at the glass half-full. Her expectations only soared higher once she finally looked around the rinky structure.

Were those actual chairs? She never had chairs at her old place. “Woah, hey, is that water free? We never got free water at my old place,” Jane said, rapidly taking a seat nearby another new girl without thinking. She waved a big happy grin over at the redhead who looked to be the company’s secretary before beaming forward at Robyn. “Hiya! Good to meet you, name’s Jane Nace and don’t let that old city name fool you, I’m here to get the down and dirty, rough and tumble as they say!” Her up of water was already downed by the time she finished speaking.

“Hey do we get refills too or do we have to pay for those?” she asked over to Abigail.

I'll be posting tomorrow.
I'll post some time this week.

Magical Girl Ozma didn’t flinch when a knife launched her way like a bullet in the air. It whizzed past her hat and caught the approaching Pageless behind her with a weighty thud courtesy of Lupin. Ozma smirked and gave the wolf Magical Girl a thumbs up before all proverbial hell broke loose. Or, it would have, had these girls not seen their own share of experience so far. The lizard-like Pageless, small as they were and meek, bristled with aggression and didn’t hesitate to lash out with their tongues and claws. They flickered in and out of view, camouflage being their main attraction as Nessie loudly pointed out.

It all lined up with the spike in Pageless activity and aggression these days and this time was no different. But the Magical Girls, seasoned and green, handily held them back. Ozma practically didn’t have to do anything although she fired off red bursts of energy at any Pageless that got too close to the others, especially Stripes. The result led in their efforts being all but unmatched and that would have been the end of it right then and there. But Ozma focused most of her senses in the surrounding mall, picking up and latching onto any new magical interference she found.

One was familiar and Ozma recognized the faint presence of Oros the Wise. One of her clones must have been nearby to scope out the magical barrier, that rascal of a devil. But another held a darker taint with it and soon enough that negativity picked up with Roma’s appearance. Much like before back in London’s streets, the Pageless scampered off towards Roma as if drawn by her figure and authority. The fighting came to an end for now and Ozma turned on her broom to look down on the other girl. With Roma came a dark chill, one that even Mika could feel back at the school for some particular reason…

“Heeeey Tsubasa. Long time no see there,” Ozma said, hand raised for Maria and Valeria as a sign to keep calm and not make any rash moves. The last thing they needed was a war of attrition especially as they could all see the rows of Pageless glowing behind Roma. “Something’s off about you from last time. Is it your hair? Did you do something with your hair?” the red witch mused. “Kidding, kidding! But seriously, how have you been? There’s no need for “forceful inquests” unless you decide that.”

Ozma lifted up her witch’s hat to get a better look at the other Magical Girl. “You didn’t really give a clear answer last time so speak up for everyone to hear, yah? What brings you back in London? Like I said back then, I doubt it’s to join back with the Ministry. And those spooky guys behind you don’t exactly look like a new Magical Girl team. Why all the mystery?”

Surely Roma wasn’t just here to cause more mayhem? After all, there stood in front of the group a perfectly reasonable explanation to why the Pageless were so agitated these days. It certainly didn’t help her case in how the dark creatures seemed to almost follow her beck and call. It changed little of the fact that what stood before them was no monster of the dark, no Pageless, but another Magical Girl.

So far so good. Rean successfully made her way up the building with only the library’s roof left as an obstacle. Their goal was so much so in their grasp and she glanced downwards to make sure Liora was still keeping the guards away. She was delighted to find the other girl wasn’t all talk in her abilities; or rather, she supposed she was all talk when she was trying to distract in flirtation. Rean settled, pondering her next move, only to blink in surprise at a familiar face.

“Arthur!?” A few questions circled her head to where the other Envoy could have been but she decided the immediate situation was more important. Realizing the boy was much nimbler and adept in scaling walls than she was, an idea formed in Rean’s head. “Wait, Arthur, why don’t you just drop down into the library for me? Look for anything that might give us a clue about Sol if you can. I can help distractions from here.” Indeed she had a good vantage point from where she was now, able to roughly see the interior of the library from here.

She began conjuring another spell from her tome, the same crimson winds forming under Arthur. “This will make you lighter so use it well. Remember, when you get to the other side, try and find anything about Sol. Make haste! I don’t know how long Liora can keep up her act.” Though it seemed the other girl was working well on her own. Such was the folly of humans.

“Ladies, ladies, let’s not fight in my club~”

Time seemed to stop for just a moment, a sensation Akiko was probably used to by now. Only, a closer inspection of the Casino around them showed time wasn’t paused but, rather, every patron and customer halted where they were. Then motion returned to their muscles and frame as if nothing had happened. And nothing did. Except Harley was here. The bunny waitresses backed away from the Jester pair as their owner made herself known, sent off to attend to other guests.

“Good to see you tall, dark, and brooding,” the Jester’s Vassal said to Kanbaru. “And you. Well just look at you. Aren’t you just green behind the cat ears.” Harley turned right to Akiko with a too wide grin and too wide eyes, one pupil mismatched to the other. “Girls, let me level with you. Let’s not make a mess of my Casino just because we have some unresolved tensions. Especially you,” she continued, gaze unblinking as it peered into Akiko’s core. “Just cause we think you might be useful doesn’t mean we’re not below taking away your fancy clothes again. So let’s not stir the boat, kk?”

She’d have left it at that, the maker of the Casino and progenitor of this world knowing the two could get along if pushed to the right circumstance. But something Akiko said stopped her and the Vassal turned her full attention to the girl now. “You think you’re…? Ah…ahaha..ahaahahah! Oh man that’s rich. That’s classic. You’re classy.” Harley jokingly and lightly punched Akiko in the shoulder followed with a, “You kidder! Don’t tell me you didn’t even notice? Oh yeah you’re totally still a complete noob. I know Kanbaru picked up on it~” The Vassal sneered with crossed arms before reclining back into a convenient monochrome chair manifest behind her.

“Look around you dear. You still think this is the Tower? We’re on a FLOOR? Hahaha! But no. This is all real. You’re in MY dimension now so let’s not do anything rash to upset ME.” Harley waved a hand to visualize her point. There was no data here, no replications of people or beings, only the poor patrons who found themselves wandering this maddening Casino for eternity’s end and them some. They were no longer inside the Tower. “Oh yeah you’re free to leave. You’re one of us now so I don’t care. But why do that when you can kick back and relax~? Play some cards in my refuge~?”

Further away, Katie already came to such revelations. It was the basis of her conversation with Erika anyway, the both of them sensing the difference and change. But some of them were less guided than others. Some of them actually embraced this mad atmosphere with no care for danger. Some of them were Riku. Katie blinked as her drink was replaced with….another milkshake. She supposed she was running low but Riku’s appearance was still surprising.

“Where did you get that outfit?” Katie said, immediately suspicious. “If you stole it, the security will be on you in a heartbeat. They’re probably just waiting for the right moment too.” It did little to really lessen Katie’s sour mood but her frown did loosen a bit from Riku’s presence. Especially when she sampled her milkshake. Katie almost perked a grin at the bunny girl’s reaction though kept it in lest she do so in front of Erika. “It’s not as bad as it tastes. You’ll get used to it. As for Thomas, I think I can hear him screaming nearby. This place has a tendency to smack people meant to be found into each other so he’ll come to us eventually.”

I’ll post later this week so we can sit tight for now.
