Where are all my crazy writers? NaNoWriMo has begun!

Originally I did want to go for NaNo again this year - which would make my fourth or fifth consecutive year of participating in this challenge - but with my project woes and now down with sickness, I have no choice but to pull out for this year to prevent overworking my brain any further.

As for the ideas, at first I was going to do an Asian historical fantasy in Chinese, then as my school work got heavier I switched to Superpower using my most well-established character I've played in RPs so far as the protagonist.

On topic about senior members on this site: I haven't talked to a lot of them because I'm not exactly a very social person, and I prefer to keep my circle of friends small, whether on- or off-line. Partly due to trust issues, another part because I'm eccentric in a way that most people might find me boring, since I don't really share much things in common with the majority to strike up a long conversation. @Gowi is one of the few whom I hold high regards to. *notice me senpai* I don't think I've ever talked to Lady A, so I can't say much about her. /shrugs

I feel you - I seriously hate my voice because I even got mistaken as a girl once for that (and it was damn awkward), and I hate my real name so much that I can't wait to change it once I graduate from college and step into the workforce.

I'm pretty sure everyone is funnier than I am. Wait, this sounds kinda wrong... *coughs* I think I should just stick to being my usual "remotely amusing" guy.

Well, not that I completely dislike voice chats, but more due to my environment not great for calls. One, because I only have internet outside using public wifi, which means a lot of background noise you're going to hear from me, and also unstable network; two, I hate my voice which sounds too reedy for a guy. :| Ah, and three, I can't do calls when I'm in class, obviously. Well, I might not mind occasional voice chats, but maybe Discord, because it has better call quality than Skype, in my opinion.

While I can be fun, chatty and a really lame person too pure to crack jokes that can make anyone goes tits up, it's tiring to maintain such high and carefree spirits the whole time because it's not really who I am. I'm just a flawed individual who isn't ashamed to admit that I have an ugly side within myself. Yeah, I'm too much of a realist to be constantly optimistic about things in general. In a way I can be seen as a pretty serious person, which I am aware that I give off this vibe to a lot of people I've conversed with. (It might also be due to my awkward English at times...)

I think the discussion with regards to the idea of freedom I've already discussed with you in Skype, so I shan't repeat myself here. Well, this terrible group work situation did made me realize that I still had a long way to go to further improve my interpersonal skills. Also, maybe after me feeling less suffocated here to be able to speak out my thoughts with less restrictions is causing me to be less patient to deal with the fragile pride of my classmates, I dunno.

(And yeah, I hope I can recover fast enough to really make some progress on the collab article. DX)

Thanks, bud. Don't worry about trying to be funny, heh. I am a good example of trying to be funneh lame af. XD Blame the fever, always. Which has gone down over the night, but my head still feels dizzy - and I still have school today. >_<

Jokes aside, I did attempt to change the situation because I don't want my grades to be sacrificed for whatever silent game they are trying to play, but it's hard not to worsen circumstances without being overly aggressive and assertive to make them resent my straightforwardness even more. Unlike the West, the kind of society I live isn't that tolerable towards openness and directness, because for us we value harmony among people more than conflicts that often arise from "freedom of speech". Sugarcoating words is pretty much a must for me in order to interact with my classmates and peers. Telling people around me IRL to fuck off doesn't work for me, yeah. Well, if there's any consolation, I can get a change of group by the fifth week because of some rotation policy or whatever that is.

Random, but the joy when I saw that you play Vita. I thought Vita is pretty much a dead console in Sony's eyes, even though it has so much potential. >_> I have a Vita, but not much games I can play on... I wish Sony would get more developers to create games for Vita.

Aw, friend. You're truly da best. Well, if no one minds reading a Asian idiot sickly high on fever ranting about his boring college life that is definitely too tame for the more "open" Europeans and 'Muricans, I guess I can just briefly talk about my current dilemma:

Well, a couple of weeks ago aka the start of my new semester, I mentioned about my bad luck to get group to a team of uncooperative members. On the surface, we barely have any inking of teamwork among us; then I realized that it was worse than I had originally thought. Not only that they got super-defensive when I was merely asking for clarification on the info in their parts so I'm more prepared for the presentation later, but the type of group mates I got was the worst to have in teamwork: the "not shy but I refuse to talk at all" kind. Okay, so they would split up the project tasks evenly, but everyone's doing pretty much their own work, lost in their own world, and don't even communicate beyond what's absolutely necessary. And it makes me irritated to see how the end product - how our slides have zero coherence and it's a visual nightmare. It's even more annoying that I have to save all their asses before the entire presentation falls apart because of their miscommunication.

...Okay, not brief at all. It's a literal bitching.
