Incidentally, how much are things dice rolls and game mechanics going to factor into the RP? Is it just a framework for us to work around, or do we need to learn the system?

But just looking over the mechs themselves, I'm a fan of the SSC Swallowtail or Death's Head for a ranged support platform, or the IPS-N Tortuga or Raleigh for a line combatant.

Despite his imposing stature and natural grimace, Cormag is surprisingly easy to get along with. Kindly and warm, a few years of parenthood have softened Cormag's otherwise rocky demeanor. Cormag possesses a seemingly limitless amount of patience- though the few to have seen his temper flare up have vowed to never witness it in their lives again. Extremely protective of those that he deems within his 'flock', Cormag while reluctant to kill, will not hesitate to come to blows over the defense of those he holds close.

Growing up in a traditional Orcish community, some values are hard to shake. Cormag inherently values freedom and free-spiritedness, as well as respect and honor amongst combatants. His in-built aggression and scrappiness has been tempered by the years and replaced with a stoic resolve and self-confidence.

Notably, Cormag carries a thinly disguised hatred for Asgardians and their occupation forces, and while he won't actively confront or engage with them, he makes sure to keep his tabs on them. He holds an obvious grudge against them, but manages to hold his temper.

Nowadays, Cormag is viewed as one of the pillars of the local community, relatively well known amongst the smaller neighborhoods as a local handyman and problem fixer- as well as a role model and pseudo-guardian for many youths.

Backstory:
Cormag was born miles above the sands of Tarcanis in the medical ward of an Orcish nomadship, in one of the few Sky-caravans of Yggdrasil. His people were not unlike other orcish tribes- nomadic, warlike and traditionalist; with some moderate differences- primarily being airborne as opposed to groundbased. The Orcish tribe of the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi were as much a military unit as they were clans and families. Newborns and younglings were provided all of the resources the clan had to offer, until they matured as adults at the age of 12. Afterwards, they were expected to provide 8 years of service pro-bono to the Clan. After those 8 years, they were allowed to get married, leave, or stay on with the clan- which to little surprise, most stayed.

Cormag was no exception to these rules. As a child, he learned the values of his clan, a combination of martial prowess and discipline, alongside shamanistic teachings and spirituality. As he reached adulthood, Cormag would join the ranks of the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi and put those teachings into practice. The famed Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi made their way across Yggdrasil- a brutally effective mercenary unit for hire, and would serve anyone with the resources to pay. Grudges were never held nor meted out, and never more brutal than they had to be, the Nar Mat-Kordh-Ishi has seen service with and against Asgard forces, as well as Seccessionists and Eastern City States.

Neither the biggest nor strongest sky-marine the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi had ever produced, Cormag nevertheless progressed steadily through his years of service, earning the respect of his peers and elders as a capable and reliable soldier. When Cormag reached his twentieth birthday and committed to staying along with the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi, he was given command of his own small ship and crew, and like many smallships, was sent out to find their own work for the good of the clan.

Cormag and his crew would eventually make their home base in Tyberia- not unlike several other Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi crews- its large size and presence as a trade hub meant there was always plentiful work: from courier services, to caravan guard duty, and even plain mercenary contracts. Somewhere along the line, during his work in Tyberia, Cormag would meet an elven widow and her daughter: Alara and Sera. They were surprising opposites- Cormag cool and collected, while Alara was hot headed and temperamental, however they found common ground in their love for the sky- with Alara being a manasmith mechanic short on work. Proving herself a capable airship engineer, Cormag would take the elven widow on as a part of his ship's crew- to the shock of his orcish crew. Despite the reservations of many, Cormag and the widow would fall in love and marry, and Alara and her daughter were brought into the clan with the full- if reluctant blessings of the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi Elders.

The coming years brought trouble for Tyberia, and as it became apparent that the Asgardians would invade, the City desperately reached out for mercenaries and soldiers to help defend its walls. Cormag and the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi were no exception, and readied themselves alongside the Tyberian defenders.

The ensuing battle was short, vicious, and laughably one-sided.

Despite their training and skill, the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi were reduced from a large fleet of warships and fighters to little more than a scattering of ragged smallships under the sheer numerical might of the Asgardian army. With what remained of their combat fleet in tatters and their clan homeships limping away to relative safety further east, the famed Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi were effectively no more.

For his part, Cormag and his crew were shot down over the city of Tyberia and were sent crashing into a small neighborhood. Cormag lost his left arm and leg, and most of his crew to the crash. Cormag's wife Alara, also met her end as their ship crashed. With the battle effectively over and spirit broken, Cormag and what was left of the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi were forced into hiding within the depths of Tyberia.

In the time following the occupation of Tyberia, Cormag and whats left of the Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi have resurfaced as the Nar Ir Har- an orcish construction company, operating mostly as a non-profit to rebuild parts of the city damaged during the fighting. Taking on able bodied men and women from all walks of life, the Nar Ir Har work hard to rebuild the city- whilst also providing "self defense lessons" to certain individuals.

Skills and Abilities:

• Professional Marksmanship - Formerly a Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi Sky-Marine, Cormag is well versed in the usage and operation of a variety of weapons- from the manalock and boarding shotgun to the pistol, and everything inbetween.
• Professional Armsman - Fighting is something Orcs are born with, and weapons are as much a part of their culture as food or religion. Cormag is no exception to this tradition, and is well versed in a variety of melee weapons- particularly axes.
• Journeyman Carpenter - Having picked up a simpler profession after his retirement, Cormag works as a local construction foreman, and whilst he has some knowledge on the craft itself, he does more organizing than actual labor.
• Journeyman Pilot - While not an airship pilot by profession, basic vehicle operation was a skill instilled upon all Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi Sky-Marines. While not capable of piloting a full sized airship, Cormag is at least capable of handling smaller crafts, and at the very least escape craft.
• Novice Medic - By no means a surgeon, Cormag possesses basic field medical care knowledge. He can clean and dress a wound, apply a tourniquet, and follow the directions of a properly trained medical professional.

Equipment:

• Nahtar - A lovingly crafted bearded axe used for boarding actions and close quarters fighting. Created for Cormag by his late wife Alara, runes inscribed along the edge of the blade protect it from breaking or dulling. An orcish prayer for good fortune is carved into its handle.
• Prosthetic Arm and Leg - simple, yet effective exo-limb replacements for Cormag's missing extremities- crafted by Winslow Wicklowe. Cold, uncomfortable, and occasionally painful, these prosthetics give him strength comparable to his former orcish limbs- arguably better strength since machines don't tire like muscles do.
• Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi Manalock Carbine - A short barreled manalock design preferred by clan sky-marines. Its shorter barrel and compact stock slightly reduces its effective range compared to traditional manalocks for more controllability and ease of use in tighter quarters- such as on airships or within cities. This carbine design is rugged and durable, and uses a pump-action to recycle mana. Currently collecting dust in a trunk hidden under the floorboards of Cormag's basement.
• NMKI Combat Vest - A combat flak vest regularly used by Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi Sky-marines. Mana defusing bronze plates riveted between two layers of soft but dense leather provide less protection than Asgardian bronze-plate, but more mobility. Currently collecting dust in a trunk hidden under the floorboards of Cormag's basement.
