Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

To be fair I also haven't said it's abandoned. Just that no residents are visible at the moment.
@Flamelord: Well, no-one's seen a resident yet. At least I didn't plan for it until the Wolverine post so um.
You should have made a lot of that stuff clearer, honestly. ^^;

It's that in this specific case they seemed to overlap so much and Aoi seemed mostly superior, so @Raineh Daze felt like Kuroko would be kind of useless.

I don't want any players feeling that way if I can help it.
The person I'm talking to(which is what I mean by research), has watched and read everything involving Zettai Karen children(as I admittedly have not so I needed a second opinion from someone who has).

If you want her to be accepted I would make the weaknesses more clear and obvious and... to be frank, everything they've told me and everything I looked up doesn't indicate she has any serious combat ability. If you're certain she does I'd like to see an example because the other sources I have contradict that.

If she's a poor combatant and you make the other weaknesses more obvious and clear she's much more likely to be accepted. Just teleporting further and such is technically better but not completely outdoing another character to the point where she's so overshadowed.
@Raineh Daze: Accepted.
@ACHTUNG: She doesn't seem to develop those skills at all and appears to have a lot more weaknesses then you mentioned. ^^; If you included all that I'd probably feel she's more acceptable, as her teleporting ability would be more versatile but more of a utility as she's easily disrupted and can't fight, unlike Kuroko who reacts more quickly and is much more of a fighter.

As for those complications, I would feel the weaker character who does the exact same thing would feel less useful. It'd still be a problem.

As for the Marines and the Army, I'm not sure I understand the comparison but they do have two different functions.

Anyway, in general, um...

Anyone who wants to interact with Kino or Mikoto please please do!
Sakura Kyouko

Kyouko paused, hearing a voice behind her. Resting her spear on one shoulder, the redheaded girl turned on her heel. At the moment, her magical girl transformation wasn't fully active, leaving her clad in her usual favorite: Short shorts, a black shirt, and a green sweatjacket. It was easy to move in and comfortable, so it's what she preferred for the type of outfits that she wore casually. The girl she now laid her eyes upon had dark hair, and spoke... Kansai accent? It sounded like Kansai, but somehow it didn't seem like her mouth was actually making those sounds. Ah, whatever.

"Hilda, huh?" she asked. The girl seemed familiar in some kind of strange way, but it wasn't anything she could put her finger on. While there wasn't any particular reason to trust the other girl, at the same time she was the first person Kyouko had met since arriving here. So it's not as if she had any other options at the moment. This was the only person who she could talk to, who seemed to be in the same boat as she was.

Kyouko drew a pocky stick from a box in one of her sweatjacket's pockets, inserting it into her mouth to replace the one she'd lost before burying her free hand back in them. She didn't shake hands that easily.

"Sakura Kyouko," she introduced herself, plainly, "I don't got any clue where I am, either. I dunno what the hell happened."

No effort was made to hide her spear. Why bother?

@Rin
@ACHTUNG: Okay, um...

So I honestly am a little bit concerned about how specific the skill overlap is and how much more versatile a teleporter she is. I don't like it when two characters take up the same slot, but it's especially an issue when one vastly overshadows the other in terms of capability. It can lead to the player of the weaker character feeling fairly useless by comparison and that's never something I want to see.

In addition, after some research I've learned she's not supposed to be nearly as capable as a fighter as your bio makes her seem. ^^;
Well it looks like Kyouko will have found a partner in comfy, easy to wear clothing.

I will have a response for her up soon. The other two are open to anyone meeting them. ^^;
