Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Kobayakawa Yumi

If there was one thing that Yumi had definitely learned about the Servant she had summoned, it was that the tall, quiet girl was highly concerned with the conservation of electricity. Perhaps too concerned. In fact, definitely too concerned. It seemed as if Yumi's Servant was quick to turn off the lights if she believed when they were no longer in use, and was also frequently too hesitant to ask if it was the case. This resulted in Yumi having the lights turned off on her on multiple occasions. Once when she was in the bath. This had contributed to a mounting level of irritation. Couldn't the tall girl simply ask her if she was using the lights? So Yumi wouldn't have to go calling for her, submerged up to her neck in water, to return and turn the lights back on?

To put it simply, the fascination Yumi had initially felt upon summoning Frankenstein's Monster of all Servants had been promptly replaced with exasperation at the Berserker-class Servant's dedication to electrical conversation and unending hesitation to speak up about it. In any case, the short, dark-haired girl had begun to ask her Servant not to turn the lights out. It was hardly one of the concerns she'd believed she would be faced with when she became a Master, to say the least.

That being said, as Yumi laid on her stomach, legs kicking in the air as she rested on the couch and flipped through her book, that annoyance didn't entirely dampen her spirits. She was the Master of a Servant. While Berserker would not have been her first choice had this been a proper Grail War, the negatives associated with the class were hardly as much of an issue in a mana-rich environment such as this. Providing prana was almost effortless. She'd been surprised when Frankenstein's Monster was revealed to be a rather beautiful girl, but she supposed that it wasn't out of the question that it could have been the case.

... Not that she'd go telling her Servant she was beautiful. What would be the point in that? Their relationship was strictly one of Master and Servant, anyway! It wasn't as if there was any reason to make comments like that, now, was there? It wasn't like she sought some kind of friendship or something!

She didn't need something like that.

Of course, right as Yumi neared the end of her current page, she heard the announcement to gather downstairs. Folding her page and placing her book to the side, Yumi drew herself up into a sitting position and then got to her feet.

"Come on, Berserker," she said, glancing towards her Servant, "Let's go. We don't want to waste any time getting there. I don't want to look like some lazy idiot who dawdled making my way the the debriefing."

Estelle Varianbec

"Ah, perfect."

Her maids were quite busy, ensuring that she was completely presentable. They were busy with bathing her, scrubbing her back, every single detail needed to be perfect. For Estelle was a Master of a Servant, not for a Grail War, but for the purpose of preserving the universe itself. Repeating that thought in her mind made the tiny, tan-skinned girl feel self-satisfied. It wasn't unlike some of the heroes that they were summoning, was it? The Servant she had called was under the class of Berserker, but with a combination of the location's incredibly high background mana and her own enormous prana reserves there was not the slightest burden. Had this been a regular Grail War, summoning Berserker would have been of no concern. However, the Servant was a bit of a curious sort. An Amazon, which explained her... manner of dress(Estelle had immediately elected to tease her about the fact regardless, just for fun and to see how she'd respond), and from the battle of Troy no less. A contemporary of a figure who, if she recalled her mythology correctly, she'd be very unhappy to hear about.

At the moment, however, that was hardly an important matter. She wasn't going to be babbling about Achilles, now, was she? Why would she? No, instead, Estelle relaxed, feeling her maids scrub her body and clean her hair. Ah, how wonderful... It was nice having people do do everything for you, even if they also served to restrict her movements. But here, well... they couldn't, now, could they? She could simply appreciate their other duties. After all, they wouldn't be following her into the other timelines, so they couldn't attempt to restrict her movements beyond 'Mistress, do be careful' or 'Mistress, don't be rash'. It was perfect.

Soon enough, the tiny girl's body had been cleaned, and shortly after she was dried and brought out of the bathing area to be dressed.

Another maid was waiting for her when she was finished.

"Please do be careful, Mistress," she said, bowing her head. Estelle nodded, folding her arms.

"Of course, of course, besides I have a Servant, it won't be a problem," she said, waving her hand and brushing the maid off.

"Berserker, let's go!"

@Riegal
"Ah? Er..."

The other girl had suddenly gotten very close, and Akane couldn't help but feel a little startled over it. She hesitated for a few moments before quickly tapping out a message in response to the tweet, asking the person who had sent it(an individual who had decided to call themselves 'AmeAmeAme' and used an avatar depicting a character from a recent anime) just where the Negari was. It only took a moment for the response to come in.

"yamashita's it's by yamashita's there's magical girls too"

Yamashita's?! That wasn't even that far... there was a Negari that close by? It was hard to say that there hadn't been more of the creatures appearing recently but still... If there were magical girls there already they'd stop anyone from getting hurt, right?! That had to be the case. It had to be. Right?

@Raineh Daze

"After I got..." Mitsuko narrowed her eyes slightly. She hated admitting to losing, that much was well-known, as was her typical distance from her fairy. "...After we stopped fighting, the Negari showed up and wouldn't leave me alone. Happy?"

The magical girl folded her arms across her chest. She looked like she hadn't gotten to sleep, either... wait, had she been fighting Negari for the whole night? It was certainly a possibility, given how exhausted she had seemed and how beaten up she looked. On top of getting in a fight with another magical girl, had she also been fighting for a whole night? That seemed ridiculous, even for an established magical girl... but it was hard to say such a thing wasn't a possibility when the stubborn existence known as Shadowrender Mitsuko was involved.

Mostly stuck trying to decide what I want to start out with really. ^^;
@ChickenTeriyaki: Fairies are only female, sorry. ^^;
  • Name: Estelle Varianbec
  • Age: 4. Physically she can be said to look around nine or ten, and mentally she is roughly in her late teens or early twenties.
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: "Doubting me means you'll lose before the fight even starts."
  • Personality: Estelle is seemingly a cocky, arrogant girl who flaunts her inherent aptitude with magecraft. She is a well-read and knowledgeable girl on top of this, quick to use all forms of research to support her perceived superiority. She has very little patience for others as well, and is prone to begin mocking and taunting those she believes deserve it without hesitation. Estelle is also liable to flaunt what she believes is a cute and endearing appearance granted to her by the Varianbec family. Beneath all of this is a childish wonder at the world, and a desire to experience as much as she can in spite of the situation her life has been spent preparing her for. She feels some level of resentment towards her family, in a way, due to tight control that is normally kept on her movements. Estelle is determined to do whatever it is she can to enjoy herself in whatever amount of time she has. While she is not without compassion, she is still a very haughty and bossy girl with a mild sadistic streak.
  • Skills:
  • Abilities: As Estelle is a homunculus, it is more accurate to describe her as a human created to be a magic circuit rather then a human created to be a magus. Her body contains an enormous amount of high-quality circuits, making her an incredibly potent wielder of magecraft. Her body is frail, but her magecraft carries an intense potency most exemplified in her choices made when in battle. She can construct a localized bounded field to defend herself from damage, and produce multiple points from which to fire beams of intensely destructive prana. A high-grade mystery in terms of modern magecraft, these beams are devised from numerous formulas from the Varianbec family's past in order to create a potent offensive weapon, a tool created specifically for the Grail War in order to best assure her own survival and defeat of the other Masters if she must. If required, she can unite the independent points to create a single, more dangerous blast of prana. As a homunculus, she is capable in all areas that her family excels in, such as the direction and flow of prana and the reconstruction of damaged familiars. Finally, she is accompanied by an assortment of homunculus maids. These maids may be converted into a set of Mystic Codes if absolutely necessary, a defensive dress and a wand for channeling prana.
  • Brief Backstory: Estelle was created as a receptacle for all of the Varianbec family's artifice. A sole individual who could continue the family's work even after the rest of them were gone. And, indeed, the rest of the Varianbec family no longer exists. All that remains is Estelle and the series of lesser homunculi they created for her care and upkeep. These homunculi were left with a strict series of orders ensuring that Estelle is not permitted to wander freely due to the importance of her existence. However, one of their key purposes was in grooming Estelle for participation in a future Grail War. The Varianbec family participated in the conception and creation of the Redrock Grail prior to their sudden disappearance, and as a result, Estelle was groomed to be their entry into the Redrock Grail War.

Yeah, since @Shadow Daedalus wants Assassin.
@Crusader Lord: Well, you would be playing Rider and someone else's Master, to avoid being stuck RPing with yourself.
