Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

@Enalais: Definitely!
Many of the knights had already gathered for breakfast. The kitchen staff have been quick to plate the large waffles and perfect-level-of-softness-and-crispness bacon quickly, presenting them to the assembled Iron Rose Knights as quickly as they could. Fanilly tried not to make it obvious that she'd had to rush to breakfast to make it in time. Sleeping in so late was thoroughly unbecoming of the Knight-Captain of the Iron Roses. It was difficult to think of what the girl knight felt were failures, however, when she was presented with such a meal. The golden brown waffles, the bacon that had so recently been sizzling away. On top of that, they also had honey from the nearest apiary, and butter from the nearest farm. There was a reason the kitchens of Candaeln was rumored to be second only to the kitchens privy to the royal family themselves.

Fanilly could only spare time for a quick prayer to Mayon before digging in, realizing just how hungry she really was.

Her maids stood behind her, Viora glaring rather intensely at Alaree, who seemed to have been subject to some sort of punishment recently judging by how she seemed to be standing somewhat further from Viora then necessary.
Okay, um... just skip me for this rotation. I legitimately have no idea how to wrap this up with Vivienne and think it's probably best for @PKMNB0Y to post again.
  • Name: Jack the Ripper
  • Class: Assassin
  • Appearance: "Mother, we will kill anyone for you."
  • Abilities:
    • Strength: C
    • Endurance: C
    • Agility: A
    • Mana: C
    • Luck: E
    • Noble Phantasm: C
    • Presence Concealment: A+
    • Murderer of the Misty Night: A
    • Mental Pollution: C
    • Information Erasure: B
    • Surgical Procedure: E
  • Noble Phantasms:
      Maria the Ripper: The Holy Mother of Dismemberment: Physically embodied as a set of oddly-shaped knives, Maria the Ripper is in fact a curse. Fueled by the hatred of 80,000 abandoned and deceased children, its effects are enhanced depending on certain conditions. If the target is female, if it is night, and if it is misty, Maria the Ripper is an embodiment of death, a curse that utterly slaughters the target by manifesting each of the four knives inside the body of the target. From there, they carve apart the victim's insides and then erupt from within, spilling internal organs and butchering the target in an instant. When the four conditions are fulfilled, it can be said that this Noble Phantasm is comparable to even the most powerful of techniques employed by the legendary Hassans. Even if these four conditions are not met, the target will not escape unharmed unless they exhibit a high degree of Magic Resistance. Still, while Maria the Ripper can cause horrible injury when even one condition is met, it will not kill unless all three have been fulfilled.
    • The Mist: Darkened Misty Metropolis: A bounded field generated from an antique lantern. By opening the lantern and gently touching the candle, the Mist is swiftly materialized. Assassin is able to target or avoid anyone she pleases with this bounded field, as well. The effects are more pronounced on normal people, who quickly begin to suffocate, suffer, and die while trapped within it. They cannot see and they cannot escape. Magi, too, find it difficult to breath and struggle within the Mist, slowly weakening. Servants will not take any damage, but will find their Agility suffering a rank down. From within the Mist, it is nearly impossible to escape, and tracking Assassin herself is beyond most individuals, both human and Servant. However, Magecraft of sufficient power, or a rank of B or higher in Instinct, can allow those trapped within the Mist to escape.
  • Personality: It can be said that, in some ways, Assassin is somewhat contradictory. She appears pure and innocent, desiring simply to feel the love of a Mother. And yet she is a remorseless killer who does not hesitate to strike. She appears naive and childish, but is quick-thinking and remarkably intelligent. Regardless, it is immediately obvious on her summoning that Assassin attaches herself to her Master, especially if they are female, like glue. She desires to be praised, to be treated with affection by her Master. Indeed, female Masters are referred to exclusively as Mother by the young girl. When she is treated kindly, her behavior will reflect this treatment and she will happily return kindness both to her Master and to others. Cruel treatment will slowly damage her psyche. Beyond these traits, Assassin is almost desperate when it comes to food, and while she is incredibly affectionate towards her Master she will be nervous and uncertain about being touched to begin with. Additionally, while she can show cheerful behavior, she is prone to depressive moments, as well as a shyer side. Loud or overly crowded situations will leave her likely to attempt to conceal herself behind her Master. Still, while one side of her appears to be an innocent girl, the other side of her is hardly hidden. Assassin will spill blood, ask to kill her enemies, and treat killing as something as normal as breathing.
  • Other: Jack is illiterate. As her body is inhabited by the mindless, vengeful ghosts of 80,000 deceased children, she refers to herself with plural pronouns.
Saber - Arturia Pendragon

"I will do whatever I must to protect you, Bethany," Saber replied with another small smile as she guided her Master below deck to take a rest. While she had commanded a vessel previously, unless her assistance was required she would do her best to fulfill her Master's wishes. Of course, that didn't mean that it was the only thing she could do. If she felt her Master would be better protected by her taking a different action, she would immediately do so. A knight's duty meant to conduct oneself honorably and to do what was necessary to protect others.

It was for this reason that, once she heard the commotion from above, Arturia concluded she needed to go above deck immediately. Carefully tucking her Master in, hoping she would sleep heavily enough to rest through the storm, the blonde knight immediately took off up the stairs and onto the deck. What she saw was... strange. The seas were relatively calm, but ahead, beneath an ominous, swirling mass of black clouds, was a patch of rough and dangerous-looking, churning waves. Stranger still, it seemed as if the storm was progressing towards them. As if it was moving on its own towards the nearest sign of terrestrial life.

Saber narrowed her eyes.

"This storm doesn't seem natural," she said, taking a step forward as she did, once again calling her blade to her hands as she did. Nero had taken control of the boat and wanted to go directly into the storm for a speed boost. After a few moments of silence, the short girl sighed to herself. She'd briefly considered attempting to stop the other Saber-class Servant, but having seen how the Roman Emperor behaved prior it seemed like an unlikely prospect. At least if she wanted to stop Nero before they entered the storm.

Saber advanced towards the deck.

"If your hands are not needed on deck, take cover!" she declared, glancing back over her shoulder as she did. "I am going to see what is causing this unnatural storm."

With that, the girl sprang over the side of the ship. Her armored boots immediately struck the water, which seemed to calm slightly beneath her feet as she straightened.

Water was no obstacle to the King of Knights, for the blessing of the Lady of the Lake protected her.

Sword at her side, Saber broke into a sprint. The moment she reached the storm she could feel the powerful winds against her face, the rain crashing down. And yet even as she ran directly up the surface of a wave and jump off, landing several meters onward, she did not stop. She did not waver. The best way to protect others was to destroy what was threatening them, the source of the strange storm.

I'll have a post up tomorrow for sure.
  • Name: Lyrie Cossette
  • Age: 13
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance:
  • Personality: An earnest, albeit somewhat shy girl, Lyrie is determined to do everything she can to help others. However, this is tempered by a serious lack of confidence. Lyrie doesn't believe that she is a sufficient healer, and that she needs to work hard to become one. As a result, she has a tendency to seriously push herself, practicing late into the night regardless of how much sleep she's gotten. After a night like that, it's likely to see Lyrie in something of a fog from the lack of sleep. She is somewhat nervous around others, and though she tries to be friendly she has a skittish personality that often leads to her retreat from social situations. Regardless of her lack of confidence in herself, Lyrie believes she has to try and help others, even if she feels like she can't manage it by herself. She doesn't think she's adequate, but thinks that she has to try something if she's around. While she's not confident in herself at all, she still firmly believes that if she works hard she will become a better healer. She just doesn't believe she's ready yet.

WiP, ended up not being able to do more. ^^;
Sorry for the delay, I'm having trouble working out a decent post for Vivienne at the moment. There's so much going on that she can't directly do anything about. ^^;
Last night...

Ciel looked up. After a few moments, she quietly welcomed the newcomer. It was just another one of the participants in the Holy Grail War. Though... wasn't this strange? There was an extra Master... regardless, it was clear he was valid. He had command seals. He had what was needed to prove he was a Master.

After his participation was registered, she sent him on his way.

@Cu Chulainn
I'll post today, it's just hard to think of what the Princess can really do at the moment aside from watch. ^^;
