Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Sorry I missed stuff I should have let myself wake up more. ^^;

I also forgot to note that @Raineh Daze is my co-GM for this RP.
@Zombehs: Please post your bio in the OOC first so I can do a formal acceptance. ^^;
Mihama Nanako

Even in an ideal situation, Nanako's ability as a magus could only go so far, especially on a simple single-action spell. Her wind barrier was failing already, the crossbow bolts were going to pierce it within seconds...!

But then the bulk of the shadow monster suddenly went hurtling into their path. Immediately, Nanako cancelled the spell, the mana ceasing to blaze through her limbs as she fell backwards onto her rear end. She could hear the bolts penetrating the beastly creature's back, sending it to the ground with a thud. It seemed as if the Archer at least recognized that killing their ally, even if it was such a horrible creature, was unwise.

For a few moments, the horrible monster simply laid there. Even in her current sleep-derived state, Nanako had enough awareness(possibly due to the adrenaline) to shuffle backwards as quickly as she could and get out of the beast's immediate reach. For even now, the awful wound on its head was still healing, and while the crossbow bolts seemed to have disabled it, it certainly wasn't yet dead!

@Asuras: Accepted.

@jdh97: Accepted.

Probably going to get this kicked off today!
@HereComesTheSnow: The Iron Rose Knights are based in an expansive building within Thaln's capital, complete with communal baths for both men and women(with blessed water that is always the right temperature and heals minor injuries), many, many rooms, training equipment, a courtyard, a library, an expansive kitchen, and shrines to both Mayon and Reon. The entry hall is decorated with portraits of previous captains, as well as a display case holding Elionne's sword.
@Asuras: I'll take a closer look tomorrow, since it's now gotten pretty late for me.

@HereComesTheSnow: Maaaaaybe.
@HereComesTheSnow: Thaln and Velt have a relatively good relationship as of now. It helps that Thaln's largely conflicted with itself, or attacks from the south(such as a by-sea invasion of the Vos Korvungand, a viking-esque enemy from the distant north, during Elionne's time).
@HereComesTheSnow: There's probably some characters in the setting who could reach a high tier of absurdity, but for this RP I'm going somewhere between the two extremes. People can do some pretty extraordinary stuff(and magic can be pretty crazy) but we're not going to have mountain-swatting or things like that.

As for folklore, there's at least some things. There's a week long festival celebrating Elionne due to her sainthood, for example, but that's related to the church. There's a children's Holiday called Milk Bunny Day, which finds its basis in a fairly old children's song that basically anyone has heard. I actually have the song written out, too, since it appeared in the previous version of the RP.

There's also stories like, for example, the Tale of the Mad Prince Mern(who killed the other members of the royal family due to a sick obsession with his younger sister before being killed by Elionne) which has various tellings that all distort the truth in various ways. A lot of Thaln's stories are tied to Elionne, at least the more modern ones, due to the profound effect she had on the country before her disappearance. However, there are older stories as well, such as the legend of the Witch-Queen of Orodagor(due to her rumored survival).
@HereComesTheSnow: I will admit I need to work a bit on the backstory elements(considering being that the first vampire forcibly converted some of her faithful or something) since it is something different from the standard "undead are an abomination" beliefs.

Also, to everyone, feel free to ask general setting questions! I am very happy to help!
@Animal: You've discovered a proud hundi warrior's only weakness. D:

Also, they probably can go awoo.
