Wesa and Casey

After enjoying the moments of kissing with Casey, Wesa pulled away to look her in the eyes. Yes he was going to start training his new love to defend herself and to survive. In his heart he has faith in her but it will take some doing to get her really prepared to handle her own. The smirk on his face started to fade the moment he smelled something a bit off, even more so from the sensitivity of his skin when the first drop of acid rain hit him. AH! What in the- he screamed out in pain, looking up at the clouds. Dammit...darling, we need to go..

Casey looked up and a drop of rain hit her in the eye and she screamed in agony. Stopping where she was she covered her eyes and couldn't see. "Wes! I can't see!" She screamed in terror. She reached for him and grabbed his hand and she followed his lead. Once inside the bunker she was near the commander who was healing people as they came in. Stumbling she gripped Wes' hand tighter.

Wes watched in pure horror to see his girlfriend in such pain when the rain hit her in the eye. After taking her hand and rushing back into the bunker, he tried to comfort her the best he could coaching her that they were going to make it back quickly and get her healed in no time. Wesa was upset with himself for not noticing a few moments sooner to get Casey to safety. Holding her to keep her from falling, Wesa continued to guide her I got you. We are almost there. There's a few people getting healed already. I'm sorry for not getting us from out there faster. I should've noticed sooner.

Casey's heart was racing and when she got to the commander he put his hand on her head and it healed the acid burns on her everywhere. Her eyelid and eyeball were restored and Casey could see again. She hugged the commander. "Thank you Commander!" Turning to Wes she pulled him to the commander and he was healed too. Then she yanked him towards her and she kissed Wes and and hugged him. "If you hadn't been there with me still I'd probably be dead out there right now. Not everyone got back inside in time."

Relieved to see that Casey was healed, Wesa forgot all about his injuries until it was his turn, being pulled by Casey towards the Commander who healed him. This was a new sensation. This was Wesa's first time running into someone with powers to heal. No wonder this man was a commander, of course he was already one more than likely before gaining his powers but it's still very convenient and useful. Wesa checked where he was injured before not notice he was one hundred percent once again and kissed Casey back.

Averting his eyes to Casey's response, he looked back into her eyes once more. But I need to do better than that next time. I'm not going to let you be in danger like that again. Especially when I should've detected it. But I also mourn those who didn't make it out of the rain too.

Casey didn't expect him to smell the acid rain before it appeared. She didn't even realize that he could. "How is it your fault? No one knew about the acid rain. It's the first time it has rained since we opened the doors. Even if it is something you could do, don't put that on yourself, it's not fair how would you know to be looking for it?" She tried to lift his spirits.

She knew the people who hadn't survived. He didn't, but he cared still. That told her more about him than so many other things could even attempt to. She hugged him again tightly. She watched Harley go running out and a few minutes later the bunker doors were being shut and she saw Harley slump to the floor. When the commander carried Harley to her room Casey took Wes' hand and pulled him to the cafeteria. They needed to calm down.

Wes listened to Casey's reasoning to not blame himself or put that kind of burden on his shoulders. She was right, how could he have known if it would rain acid like that? Even if it has a smell to it, Wesa wasn't paying attention at the time until feeling the drop fall on him but it was too late. I guess you're right. I smelled it after the fact but I'm just glad we were able to get out of it and get you healed. Thank you. he said kissing her cheek.

Wesa noticed Harley running out and then came back in and being carried by the commander. He wondered what that was about but followed Casey into the cafeteria. Oh...I almost forgot about your training. If you want, we can postpone it until later or train here on the inside?

Casey sat down with hot cocoa for both of them. "Sounds good, but let's start tomorrow. Seems like enough excitement for one day." She slid a mug to him and smiled with a whipped cream mustache.

Taking the mug and blowing the hot liquid before tasting, he looked over to see her whipped cream mustache and chuckled. Alright, tomorrow it is but...there's nothing wrong with a little excitement. Leaning over to get a corner of her whipped cream mustache with his thumb and tastes the whipped cream to let her be aware she had it. He still smiled about it though. It looked cute on her. He then took a sip of his.

Hey guys! Been sick with really bad headaches so I couldn't post. I'll be better soon and will get back to everyone. Sorry for the delay.

So Jae and Audrianna will be quiet for a little bit. I'll write for Cody today.

Orren

Orren watched Adelina quietly and he saw the flour on her cheek and when she asked him about his drink preference he nodded smiling at her. "Cider sounds great." He stepped towards her and reached over to her cheek slowly and used his flat of his thumb to gently brush the flour from her cheek. "You had some flour on your cheek." Orren felt such a strong urge to kiss her, he stared into her eyes for a moment and several thoughts ran through his mind. He could picture her recoiling in horror and leaving forever if he tried to kiss her.

Stepping backwards he felt some of his spines stick into the door frame. He closed his eyes in frustration with his current form. Embarrassed, he stepped one step forwards listening to the spines leaving holes in the door frame. He turned and went out to the garden for a few minutes.

Was this all part of the cruel witch's plan? Torment him with the humanity he no longer had? Orren had believed money and power were the most important things growing up. His father had taught him that by example. Being stuck in his demon form allowed him to see the cruelty of fear and how much truly caring for someone meant. James was his best friend and he never left him. Orren owed him so much and Adelina... In the last few weeks she had managed to teach him a lesson or two. The longer he was around her the more he wanted to be around her. She hadn't screamed in terror or run off even when he had gotten angry. She had just accepted him and his hideous form as if he were totally normal.

He was concerned about her family being here. What if they saw Orren and made her leave with them immediately? The thought tore at him. The pain that tore across his chest made him stop and think about that again. If she left him... he would become a demon for all eternity. More importantly, in his heart he would rather live with her as a demon, than not have her in his life at all. These thoughts left him in a somber mood. At the end of the year his humanity would be completely gone and he would become his own worst fear.

Orren stayed outside til Adelina called him in for supper. Moving light on his feet for one so large he entered the house and went into the dining room and saw the stew and the pie and Adelina. He couldn't help but smile. He held her chair and pushed it in when she sat and took his own seat. "It looks wonderful Adelina."

Orren

Orren was happy to hear her voice behind him and he smiled to himself. "I have no idea what James was planning for dinner." After rooting around the kitchen, he looked up at her and smiled sheepishly. "I can cut up some fruit and we can do sandwiches but other than that I really can't cook so unless you have any other ideas...that's all I've got."

He noticed that Adelina seemed to have forgotten that she was mad at him and he was happy about that. Stoking the fire in the kitchen fireplace he turned the heat up in the room for her. As a demon he felt neither cold nor heat. Because he was not born a demon he tended to pay attention to things like that. Seeing her working to make them dinner he grabbed the place settings and set the dining table.

For a few minutes he got lost in his own thoughts. He looked at who he was when the spell was set on him and he realized that he had been selfish and thoughtless much of the time. He walked into the kitchen and saw Adelina in the firelight and something inside him warmed up, he wanted to kiss her. She was pretty, kind, accepting of him as he was and he was attracted to her. He analyzed his feelings and realized that the chances that she would ever reciprocate any feelings that he were to have for her were incredibly low.

Hun There was no rain inside the bunker it was outside. So your post doesn't make a lot of sense if he was in the cafeteria.
Theoduin

Theoduin smiled at the princess and asked Freya since she was the obvious guard for the princess. "Would you like me to take up the rear or lead in the front?" Freya gave him a look when she saw both him and Sabina had blushed just a little too much.

Freya pointed towards the front. "Well since I don't know you I'll take the rear. Besides you might get distracted staring at the princess too much." She smirked at his expression.

Theoduin had trouble not smiling at her comment as that was likely what he would be doing if in the rear. She noticed that he grinned and nodded. "As you wish. Are we picking herbs today as well?"

Freya

"Aye I am, keep an eye out for the abscess root and aloe vera leaves today. It has been requested. Mother said it is urgent on the abscess root. The more the better." Freya said while lurking around a tree that was similar but not quite the right one. Disappointed it was the wrong plant she moved slower than the princess and Theoduin. She kept glancing up and when she found an abscess plant she got down on her knees and started to dig it up carefully. She found three more plants within a few feet and she couldn't see the princess any longer nor Theoduin but her instincts told her that he was not a threat to them. She was intent on getting the roots up and into her bag.

Freya stood up and stretched her back. Wincing she felt the crick in her back as she bent forward to grab the bag and tie it to her waist. She stood up and sensed that she was not alone. Pulling her sword quietly she headed forward keeping her eyes open and staying alert as she did. Freya was well aware that the elf had gone off ahead with Sabina so it wasn't them and this person was as light footed as Theoduin. Another elf? How likely were they to be stalked by two elves? Her heartbeat was pounding in her chest suddenly. She had the feeling she was prey and this was not sitting well with her at all.

Hah, how did I manage to do that? It should be Lydia. Do enough RPs through the years and the names get scrambled I suppose.

Anyway, given the circumstances I think someone needs to talk to Lydia and determine her condition and to a minor extent her place in the group. More than likely she would end up in a medical room (by reading there appears to be more than one) to be sure she's in good health.

I don't think my characters at this point would be thinking about anyone else other than Paige but If you have read up then you would get why. However, I am certain the others would as they were in the same place .

Orren

Orren had tried not to blurt out the news as indelicately as he did. He could see her pallor lighten and her nerves fraying as he went to catch her when she started to sway. However, she had righted herself before he could help. She sprinted past him and into the castle. He looked down at the sketchbook and picked it up and carried it inside the house.

Orren could hear her working hard upstairs to make the rooms clean enough for her brother and father. Orren wasn't sure how else to help her. He stayed out of her way and after she left the rooms he brought in extra blankets, more candles and firewood for the fireplaces to keep them burning so the cold wouldn't settle in again. Orren went down to the parlor where he found Adelina pacing back and forth anxiously.

"Adelina, I'm sorry to tell you this but the chances of them getting here in the snow tonight are very unlikely. It's most likely that they will arrive tomorrow morning. I don't believe that James or the doctor would want them out in the coldest part of the night." He filled the fireplace and lit it hoping to take the damp chill out of the air. He pulled a blanket out and walked to her and wrapped it around her shoulders and looked at her.

"I'm sorry. I hope you are okay with my decision to bring them here. Maybe I should have consulted you first but I thought speed was of the essence and that you would like them close by so you could look after them."

Orren didn't leave the room quickly but he walked towards the kitchen. He realized with James gone they were on their own for dinner.

Welcome! I have a question though. Your character's name is written as Lydia and Lynda in the CS, which one is it and can you fix it so that it is the same throughout. We have a good group in here so I think you should have a good time too.

YAY! and thank you!
