Current The ENT doc to me: "it's not looking so good in there". I know, doc. Please fix my nose, and maybe tell the VA to approve my claim.

@Jewel - get something you can live with for the rest of your life. What is something you’d never not be passionate about? I don’t regret my tattoo; I’m removing it for another reason.

Coincidentally, I actually saw Volbeat who opened for Avenged Sevenfold and Metallica like a few months ago. Great show. I headbanged and got a sore neck for like two days straight after the concert. And great song! Reminds just the slightest of Five Finger Death Punch.
"Just fucking do it!" Jane said through gritted teeth, pulling on Jason's sleeve as she looked him in the eye. But her ragged breath told a different story, and the poor man attempting to extract the bullet from Jane's abdominal wound was unsure if she would last another minute before facing unconsciousness. His hand was shaking, and beads of sweat had formed around his face. Jason was a great fighter and an even better marksman, but his range of talents didn't extend much further beyond that.

"I-I can't! Goddammit, this isn't easy!"

Jane sighed, partly relieved but also angry at Jason's inability to take some initiative under pressure. Of course this wasn't easy, but nothing about their situation was easy, and he should damn well have realized that by now. "Fine, just go find Elaine, see if she's made some progress finding a medic or maybe a doctor."

With a straight face, Jason tossed aside the medical tweezers, and Jane watched as it bounced off the side table and onto the floor. She knew he was extremely frustrated, and in hindsight, maybe she shouldn't have been so hard on him. "It's okay, you know. I can handle the pain for now and the bullet already did its damage; it's only a matter of getting it out and stiching me up."

"No need to sugarcoat it, Jane," he replied, taking off the gloves as he turned to face her once more, "I'll go out there and get you some help. It's the least I can do after screwing up."

"No, you didn't--"

"I never took you for a liar, so don't start now," Jason interrupted her with a slight smile. He fetched for a bottle of water to leave by her side. "I'll be back as quick as I can, hopefully with good news. You get your rest and take it easy, we can't have that bullet moving around in there."

"Thank you."

Jane watched as Jason gathered his bag and left the room, leaving her in complete silence. It was only a matter of time before she fell asleep, the pain eventually replaced by a string of dreams.
@Gunther

I love Metallica, although they're my second favorite band. My all-time is Iron Maiden. People find it odd because I look like I should be listening to the top pop songs, but my dad used to have long hair and he dressed like a punk, so I got my taste in music from him
I think we have more than enough female characters for now.
@HeySeuss

Alright, I'm in.
Name: Jane Donovan
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Ethnicity/Nationality: Canadian-American
Physical Description:
Jane is approximately 5'6, and weighs in at about 130 lbs. Her curly, light brown hair has natural highlights, and it falls a few inches just below her shoulders. Blessed with hazel eyes and full lips, her medium-dark skin tone further accentuates her features.

Skillset:

  • Drawing/design
  • Somewhat of a book worm
  • Really good with directions
  • Knows some basic self-defense

History:
Jane was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia to an engineer father and a nurse mother. She is an only child, and despite missing out on the sibling experience, she considers her childhood to have gone extremely well. In school, she was immediately drawn to the arts. Jane found she had a natural talent for drawing and she would practice just about every chance she got. Her parents were extremely supportive of their daughter and would often encourage her to join an art club or maybe go out more and meet people with similar interests and talents, but Jane didn't necessarily take their advice to heart; she preferred the quiet, private lifestyle she had known so well throughout the years. When Jane was in her senior year of high school, she received a scholarship to the School of Visual Arts in New York, and once the time came, she left home for the first time.

During her second year of schooling in New York, Jane became a tattoo apprentice at a shop near her school. Within a matter of months, she was promised a permanent, full-time position provided she completed additional training to gain a better understanding of the industry. It was then Jane made school her second priority, and her schedule switched to part-time classes which allowed her more time at the shop. While her parents were supportive of her decision, they nonetheless reminded her of the importance of school, the same old speech Jane always received. She promised them that she'd stay in school, and she kept her promise. By the time she graduated, she was one of NYC's favorite new tattoo artists, and her clientele only grew the more publicity she received.

Fast forward nearly a decade later when Jane's life came to a complete halt. The invasion wreaked havoc on her life, as was the case for just about everyone else. Being that she didn't have any family in the states, Jane's immediate goal was to make her way back to Canada one way or another, but that proved harder than she'd imagined. She knew she wouldn't last long, and as she made her way north, she eventually joined one of the smaller resistance cells. Everything was going as well as one could expect if the country you're living in has been invaded, but that changed when the group got to Vermont. Just about everyone within that resistance cell was killed or gravely wounded, and unfortunately, Jane wasn't spared. She's clinging on for dear life and even though she believes she could recover, time isn't on her side as troops could easily close in on her location.

Psychological Profile:
Jane is not a woman of many words. While she's not anti-social by any means and can get along with just about any social circle, she prefers to listen rather than contribute to a conversation. Given her non-confrontational nature, Jane will avoid fights or unnecessary arguments and instead, she'll attempt to resolve the issue in a civilized matter. Since the invasion, however, Jane's attitude has shifted slightly to better suit her surroundings. She's much more outspoken whenever she believes she's right, and her patience tends to run short quite often.

Equipment:

  • Glock 43
  • Backpack with canned goods, water, and a blanket
  • A small radio

@HeySeuss Okay, let's go with that.

Alright, I'm done.
@KatherinWinter

I'm still here.
@Gisk
