@IceHeartYou have a lot of information scattered throughout this entire interest check. You should add the important bits to your OP so prospective RPers don't have to dig through pages to find the information you want them to know.

I don't know what the issue is for reaching max level... especially when the game started years ago. Hell, in every game you can reach max level in a few days with speed leveling. You can find a shit ton of guides online for every mmo for that.
You could also buy a max level character that in every game costs for about 60-100$ tops fully equipped.
Let alone the VIP subscription which gives you XP and loot drop boost.
If no one minds, if I join this I'll have a special mount 1 existing on the whole game which drops on the lottery section of the game. You could say I spent thousands of dollars pulling the lever and buying the capsules :P

Behind the Avatar

Age: 33
Gender: Male
Bio: Tobias Wagner is an Austrian cyber security specialist who works for Gluckweich (Lucksoft), a software company that specializes in anti-virus programs such as their most famed, “Aegis.” He has always lived alone for being a cyber geek didn’t make him attractive to most women. People were always hard to connect with. No matter what he did, he always somehow seemed to screw up a potential friendship. Let’s not even bother to say relationship because that has never happened. Tobias doesn’t really regret not ever having a girlfriend for it had allowed him to focus on his career, and he could spend as many hours as he wanted on his favorite game “Yggdrasil” without some woman pawing for his attention all the time. Tobias has played Yggdrasil since the game came out and he paid for the Adventurer Pack that granted him increased XP boosts and premium membership that gave him continual benefits. While the majority of jobless players had to spend hours grinding for all eternity to even make a dint in the higher levels, Tobias didn’t have to grind as hard as them though it still took several days of grinding and player-killing. Tobias chose the Assassin class to somewhat get back at the world and the humans he lacked sympathy for. PKing players allowed him to gain lots of loot that he sold on the world market. He eventually joined a guild called “Get Some” and used them solely for dungeon raids. Some of the members were even able to benefit off his money for he bought them cash shop items in exchange for in-game gold. Tobias played the game until its shutdown was announced. He didn’t take the news lightly. All that money he invested in the subscription almost felt like a waste. It would have been if he hadn’t played up to its last few minutes. When the game shutdown…the unexpected happened.

The Avatar

Name: (σωσ) (No one really knew what to call him. His old guild invented the name “Face.”)
Appearance: Face is a doppleganger, but he can take on the form of anyone he encounters. This racial ability made his PK career super effective. Dopplegangers are twiggy and gray with a round face with three holes in it much like a bowling ball. He wears medium armor, black in color, and looks like your typical ninja when he isn’t transformed. Transformed, he can replicate any class but the potency of their copied abilities are reduced to 80%.
Race: Heteromorphic - Dopplegänger
Gender: N/A (He sounds male when he speaks and has a German accent)
Character Level: 100
Alignment: -100
Racial Class: Greater Dopplegänger
Job Class:
  • Rogue (3)
  • Ninja (5)
  • Master Assassin (10)
  • Poison Maker (5)
  • Illusionist (3)
  • Weapon Master (10)
  • Shapeshifter (15)
  • Stalker (3)
  • Ki Master: Spiritual (2)

Fighting Style: Face is a master assassin not only because his class says he is, but his technique involves tactful assassination. He uses guile and traps to catch opponents off-guard and slays them with burst critical damage. He will douse an opponent with severe damage-over-time effects such as Poison and Bleed and standby like a stalking predator until they succumb to their afflictions. His backstabs receive bonus damage, and therefore, are the most deadly. Face can impersonate other characters and walk among them. Few rarely ever notice that he has even impersonated one of their teammates until after the consequence. If Face isn’t in your guild, then he would be seen as a ruthless killer and your worst nightmare. For the party, Face will lay down traps that stun and slow enemies for the off-tanks and other damage dealers to destroy at their leisure. He will also buff the team’s critical chance as well as attack speed for 30 minutes. The assassin rules in one-on-one fights; however, they are not made to tank mobs. While Face has illusion magic and special equipment that offers area of effect damage in a small radius, his primary purpose is to quickly get in, destroy the “carry” or “support” and get the hell out—and he’s pretty good at that business too.

Strengths:

As an assassin wearing medium armor, Face is very fast. His primary defense is evasion and making accurate cuts with his weapons. Having learned the abilities of the Weapon Master class, Face specializes in close-combat and ranged combat when necessary. He will close the distance on rangers using a deadly kusarigama, and usually it is all over from there for the squishies. With his traps, the party can benefit with crowd control. His poison and bleed effects add to the damage inflicted by his fellow damage dealers. With Face being able to remain incognito during fights to pinpoint the carries and support elements of an enemy group, he can swiftly take them out and help his team quickly advance. Prior to becoming a ninja, for the class wasn’t unlockable until level 60, Face spent time as a rogue. While he can’t unlock and disarm the highly advanced chests and doors, he can open novice chests and novice locks.

Weaknesses:

Face is not meant to take on multiple opponents at once. If ever he has to do so, then he will try to take advantage of the group using traps, guile, and tricks. If he can scatter a team, then he can pick them off. If a team remains a tight, cohesive group, then he is in trouble. Worst case scenario, if he is overwhelmed, he would rather run than risk trying to take an entire party by himself—even at level 100!

Equipment/Abilities Worthy of Note:

Izanaya Armor Set Named after one of the Thirteen Heroes, the armor set is a medium armor set that is black with a sleek design. Face has enhanced and upgraded the armor to max defense with dexterity bonus.

Chameleon Ring grants Face a cloak of camouflage not invisibility. He can blend into his surroundings and the remains can be activated and deactivated.

Sanguine Blade is the name of Face’s kusarigama. The blade of the kusarigama is bright-red and at the end of its black chain is a claw that can be used to grapple high ledges or snag enemies to divert their swings. Face can rapidly whirl his kusarigama, making it quite the flayer of flesh. The Sanguine Blade gets its name because it inflicts Bleed on those who are cut by it. The bleed damage lasts for 10 seconds, and the time will keep resetting for as many times the enemy continues to be cut. Face will lob his kusarigama at enemies in two ways: 1) if the blade impales an enemy, then he will quickly tug himself close to him or her and rip the blade out causing physical damage; and 2) if the claw snags an enemy, then he will yank the chain to throw off their balance. Both throwing options allow him to cancel a mage's spell if they are caught channeling when it happens. The claw can latch onto the shields of enemies, and if the tank or off-tank doesn’t have a firm grip on it, he has 50% chance of yanking it out of their hands. The chain of the Sanguine Blade can be used to create a 20 meter by 20 meter square. Enemies trapped inside the square will suffer either Stun or Slow damage when he yanks the blade back. The kusarigama will close the square on the enemies within, supposedly lacerating their tendons, thus which creates the stunning or slowing effects (Note: Either effect is random). On top of that effect is the Bleed effect that is naturally inflicted by the weapon.

Smokebombs are actually an illusion ability. Face will throw down a smoke bomb and seemingly warp behind an enemy who is within 5 meters of himself. He can also use this ability to make an escape, choosing to warp 5 meters away from his enemies. The smokebomb can also be lobbed at an enemy to create a distraction for the assassin to take advantage of them.

Ninja Clones are created using illusion magic. Six copies of Face will manifest in a ring around an enemy, and all six copies with rush the enemy, closing the circle and inflicting the total physical damage of six Faces.

Friendly Impersonation is when Face uses his racial ability to shapeshift and impersonate an enemy’s familiar. The impersonation is so accurate that it is difficult to tell if he is an imposter or not. Face has used this ability to not only destroy an entire enemy team but to excite paranoia within a group, thus which usually results in them all killing each other. He can use this ability to infiltrate heavily guarded fortresses and tomes. It is very risky for someone can always figure him out before he can make his move.

Knock On Wood is when Face substitutes his immediate position with an object found within his vicinity. It may be a twig. It may be a chair. Whatever it is, it’s not Face so…in your face! The ability is very handy when wanting to avoid life or death situations. Face will normally save this ability solely for those situations for its cooldown is ridiculous.

Poison Blade/Poison Pot is when Face coats his Sanguine Blade in poison. He often carries about 5 poison vials on his person per dungeon. He will either use the poison vials to coat his sanguine blade for a duration of 5 minutes or he will lob a potion at an enemy to inflict them with poison for 15 seconds.

Shuriken Face will toss out a handful of ninja stars that will scatter in all directions to hit multiple enemies. The scatter effect of the ability does not deal as much damage as when he throws a star individually.

Shadow Clone Face can create a dark clone of himself that will fight alongside him, mimicking his moves. The clone only lasts for 30 seconds before it will vanish. While the clone is active, if an enemy takes damage from it, the clone deals the same damage as Face. The clone is recognizable for it is black in appearance.

Adrenaline (Buff) increases the individual or party’s attack speed and critical chance by 15% for 30 minutes.

Ki Sense (Passive) Face can sense the ki of an enemy and determine if the risk is worth it or not.

Feather Step (Passive) Being an assassin, Face can move around without making a single sound. It makes stalking more effective.

Limber (Passive) Face’s class relies heavily on dexterity. As a bonus, he is granted an increase in evasion and accuracy.

Back Stab (Passive) While other players may find backstabbing cowardly, as an assassin, Face gets a bonus on damage so suck it!

Basic Lockpick Face can unlock novice level treasure chests and doors.

How a normal human would view me: Others are always fearful of an assassin, especially a doppleganger assassin. People are wary of him but that’s okay because he doesn’t like people any way.@IceHeart

@BishopThis is starting to frustrate me now. Do I need to explain my opinion on the matter yet AGAIN? Iceheart is the gm she doesn't seem to care to limit level 100s as such no one else cares that's the simple fact of the matter. Thus rendering my opinion null. Simply put if you want my opinion actually go back and read my comments. If that's too hard TL;DR Nine's Own Goal was the third ranked guild ever and only dropped in rank when it's members dropped out. 1500 Players, and NPC mercs attacked them and failed. If there were even quarter of that being level 100's they would've outnumbered Nine by an insane scale. Thus I don't like seeing so many level 100's.

If it's any consolation, as many as 50% of the players will drop out immediately or almost immediately, thus clearing out room. But no worries.

@vancexentan Well the thing is your wrong about that. Doesn't seem like you play a lot of MMOs though. Level doesn't really matter all that much. What matters are the items/consumables and equipment let alone skill. Ainz's guild had the most world breaker items, items so strong that they changed the world's balance.
The guild itself is famous for its possession of eleven world class items, the most out of any guild in YGGDRASIL, and its creation of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, the most difficult dungeon which no one could conquer.

Furthermore, you have no idea how this game was really played. By the looks of it, to invade it you had to pass a dungeon, not neccessarily fighting the guild members themselves but rather their dungeon traps and machinations. They could have spend a substantial amount of money building their dungeon to be the strongest. Look at their NPCs. Without a world breaker item even a level 100 would have difficulty fighting them.

The guild came into possession of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, an underground guild base that consisted of six floors. Ainz Ooal Gown then came to the decision that they would make this the most evil lair possible. The guild at it's peak had 41 members and they poured their hearts and souls into making Nazarick, upgrading the place to consist of ten levels and filling it with hundreds of personally created NPCs to guard it. Moreover, they had placed all sorts of monsters in their guild base in order to eliminate invading players. Eventually, they were attacked by one of the largest gatherings in the game. A host of 1500 players and mercenary NPCs attacked them, but were finally defeated on the 8th floor.

Please read carefully before you post. There were 1500 players and NPC mercenaries. You don't know the players/NPC ratio so you can't say for sure.

And as I mentioned before, they build the best dungeon, poured their time and earnings to upgrading it to the fullest.

This isn't a flat out 41 vs 1500 battle. The 1500 people entered the dungeon where most of them were NPCs for all you know. And not necessarily everyone was level 100 per say but that doesn't mean that not a lot of people were that level. It just means that a few level 89/99 etc joined in the fight like newbies gathering for fun. This, ignoring the fact that even NPCs might've not been full level 100 when you don't even know the player/NPC ratio.

In every single MMO you can reach max level in a few days if not a week tops. This game had been out for years, it's illogical to say that there weren't a lot of max level players. And the fact that it was closing means that almost no new players joined it and this leads to the fact that most of the remaining population is high/max level only focusing on raids and dungeons.

@BishopI don't know much about MMO's? You're saying that in a few days of grinding you can go from level 1 in runescape to level 100 in whatever skill let alone level? I spent literally weeks cutting down trees in that game for my main form of currency and when I quit I was barely level 86 out of 99 in that game. I haven't seen much of WoW either but I sincerely doubt that players can go that fast in that either. I played Runescape for over four years on one account. That character was level 98 when I quit some players were up to level 150-200 in that game. And saying you know more about a nonexistent MMO isn't exactly amazing evidence either. None of us can really say what levels the majority of characters were at in game the only info we know is 'that characters were easy to level'. Which in itself is a vague statement. Some people have more time than others. The no life players can probably get that high within weeks, or months if they try hard enough.

As for the Tomb's quality as the greatest dungeon is arguable as well. It may very well be as the large amount of players were not able to conquer it but we have not seen, or heard of the other dungeons possibly made by the two guilds higher in rank than Nine's Own Goal.

As it is I'm more or less considering dropping out at this point none of you guys are willing to listen to my opinion only throw it back in my face even to the point where I dropped the thing last page and you brought it back up. I'm not telling anyone they can't have higher level 100's I was arguing in the point that there was no level diversity among players and that all of us having that high a level character would lead us all to having overwhelming power as a single group leading to nothing but anti-climatic battles where none of us were presented with anything mildly fun unless the game was heavily stacked in our favor.

@vancexentan Ok ok, no need to lose temper. Not going against you but more like defending my own opinion. And just to say, power leveling exists in any game though you won't have currency for good items or materials levels are easily gained.

I agree with your last statement I just didn't agree with your previous ones where you said it wasn't logical for a lot of people to have all level 100 characters in a 9 year old game.

Either way, a possible route to go for this is for everyone to form factions, inside battles lead to the just-formed-group breaking down and now we fight each other.

@IceHeart Is -500 the max you can go in evil alignment points? I remember momonga sparing those children, helping different people etc. Although he claims it is to further his own goals, I think he had a soft spot and let them live out of kindness. I mean, I expected some super evil guy to kill innocent and the like without a second thought.

I understand where vance is coming from. Overpowered characters are generally a bad thing.

However this is Overlord isn't it? Pretty much the whole premise is that the characters are Over Powered. And when talking about the challenges we will face? Wouldn't it be like the same ones Ainz faces? Doesn't Ainz destroy absolutely everyone he meets without breaking a sweat?

I think people here need to step back and chill a bit because it seems to be getting pretty heated for no good reason and its sad to see people drop out of RPs for silly things like that.

I actually like godly/overpowered Chars. I guess it could be bad, but most people here are regular Rpers and know a limit to things. When you already have your stuff all maxed out, then their is no challenge, its boring? Only if the Gm makes it that way. When having to level up your stuff, it changes the way people RP. Not picking what they want to do and more what they should to benefit the Character. Not the story. I assume we are going to not really be in too much danger, but because the world around is real now. Ours to shape and discover. Everyone needs to relax. Level 100, Level 88, Level 10. It doesn't matter cause you should make a Char you want to play and if its limitations is nothing or everything it should be up to the player and they should keep that in mind when making the Char.
