Taylor glared playfully over her shoulder at Liv, but smiled at Josh's reply to her teasing comments, thinking to herself, 'Definitely wouldn't mind getting a room.' She smirked at her thoughts, looking over at him from the corner of her eye to look him up and down. 'Indeed.'

Sadie turned from her romping around in the shallow lake water to pinpoint her interest in the other red 'dog' just behind them. Her ears perked as she watched the 'dog' nosing around, taking slow cautious steps out of the water towards it. Without any sort of warning, she darts off towards the dog. No growling, no barking, just running.

Taylor hears Sadie run past through the coarse sands of the beach and watches her dog run off, knowing her dog wouldn't hurt a fly, she doesn't bother to call her off. Watching her carefully, she watches what she'll do.

Sadie comes to an immediate stop a couple yards away, lowering her head a bit with her ears perked and her tail high, ever so still. Her head lifts up a little as she sniffs the air at the red 'dog', huffing at him once as her tail wags a few times before going still again.

Taylor giggles softly and crosses her arms over her chest, smiling at her dog as she mutters under her breath, "Oh this oughta be good."

"I don't know about you Dec, but I have a feeling Jenna isn't here and she's lying to us.-"

Declan rolled his slightly and thought to himself, 'How do you not know how I feel when I just got done telling you before the idiot parade arrived?' He simply chuckled and turned back to the mine, giving it another look over before wandering off a few paces away from it. "I don't know about you, but um.. I'm not really a fan of cramped spaces, and the entrance of the mine itself looks like it's gonna come crashing down at any minute. I'd rather face an asthma attack than go into that damned silver mine." He gave the mine one last look before turning back to look at Finley. He of all people wouldn't know whether you could get reception inside the mine or not. He'd never been inside to find out.

"The ol' mine kind of creeps me out, anyway." he offered, hoping that Finley would take his hints of not wanting to go any further inside. He held out his hand, hoping she'd take it. "If she's actually in there, she can yell at us later. I doubt that time will come, though. Think it'll be us doing the yelling." he half smiled at Finley

Clifford Norman~Red

Clifford shook out his fur once the collar was adjusted and huffed at Leo. He really just wanted to get out of here, but he was committed now. Which was not a fun place to be for him. He let out another huff and trotted closer to the group in time to hear Jo ask about his nose. His head tilted and he then snorted before moving past them.

Just as cliff was working on trotting ahead a certain dog ran up and then stopped. He blinked at her before raising his own black tail and waving it before stopping. His head tilted and a whistle escaped him. Being a dhole meant a lot of weird non wolf noises but it certainly was okay given the scenario. He moved toward the canine then stopped. This was highly unusual for him...most canines either tried to fight him or simply tried to run away because he wasn't just any old werewolf....he was alpha.

Large ears swiveled and a nose twitches before cliff waved his tail again. He was hopeful it wouldn't do either of the normal things and he could boost his cover. He let his tongue loll out for a moment before he went into a half now which was the universal dog sign of play. He waved his tail again and hoped that if anyone other then Leo ever figured him out that they would not remember this. First the dog collar now this. Socializing....he was being reminded why he didn't do it.

@Morose Miss. Halsey turned to look at Jenna when she pulled out the book and gently took it from the girl's hand as she started to search through the book. The pages were in an unknown language that Jenna couldn't read, but she could looking at the girl raising an eyebrow for a moment. "It's a demon summoning book." She said as she handed it back towards her. "Shit that you really shouldn't dabble into." She quickly stated. "If I were you I would burn it." Miss. Halsey warned her.

@FantasyChic@Infamous Auror While the two of you are there discussing about Jenna Finley would get another vision, it appeared to be the old abandoned house on the other end of town. Inside she could see some people in hooded robes, though none of their faces can be seen at all and they were chanting something in some unknown language. And then it ends rather quickly, there really is nothing else of interest at the mine they can walk back to town there isn't anything that happens when they walk back into town.

@BlueSky44 James followed alongside Lydia as they made their way towards the back of the house, when they try the back door that is also locked. However there is a cellar door James goes over and opens it up. "Well looks like theres our way in." He said as he walked down the stairs once they are at the bottom there is various kinds of jarred up items, and they look to be some kind of animal parts. "This is weird.." James said.

@LadyRunic The elderly woman would smile at Alice as she offered to let her inside and asked if she wanted some tea. "Tea would be great." She said happily as she took a step into the house, her eyes wondering around as she noticed some of the mannequins. "So you doing some sewing? I used to be a tailor myself." She said giving Alice a friendly smile, the kid started to walk around the room looking pretty bored as he moved to one of the mannequins. "These look really creepy." He said.

"And some require a shit ton of magic to dispell as well." Abe said as he walked alongside his niece and adjusted the cane around, he shrugged slightly at his niece suggesting doing more wards over his house, he honestly didn't see a need to no one really ever came to bother him at all. And if it was a supernatural then it would always end up very bad for the creature that would try and kill him, Abe then stopped for a moment grabbing.

Abe started to smell sulfur around looking around as he tried to find out where it was coming from, usually sulfur meant that there was a demon nearby. Abraham pulled out his handgun as he looked around and motioned for Kosara to stay close to him as he remained alert. "Theres something else here I think." Abe said quietly.

Olivia stuck her tongue out at Taylor she was getting a kick out of just busting her balls over her love life, when Joey asked about the dog's nose. She gave a slight shrug she hadn't seen the dog either before until now but she had a feeling that it was her roommate who never told her. She was going to probably end up having a talk with him later as Olivia watched Sadie quickly going over to introduce herself to Clifford, she smiled at the two. She looked towards Joey and gave him a slight laugh. "Well i'd make sure that you two lovebirds get paired up like Fred and Daphne always do."

"Well it looks like they made quick friends huh?" Olivia said looking over at Taylor, she stopped for a moment as she looked over at the lake as she started to pick up the strange sulfur smell. Her eyes wondered over towards the treeline as she watched a black mist going into the woods. "Anyone smell that?" Olivia asked, Harry would get a better look of the smoke trail as it quickly went deeper into the woods, the smell of sulfur was stronger where he stood.

Harry continued his note taking with a bored vigor. After all, that was the only thing for him to do other than let his mind drift onto completely unrelated topics; the last thing he'd want to do when it came to gathering evidence for his current case.
  • More teenage flirting (be sure to avoid accidentally sitting in on a pre-marital fling)
  • Admittance to heavy cannabis use
  • Uninspired Scooby-Doo references (isn't that too old for them to be using? Then again there were those awful movies a few years ago)
  • Using a dog to try tracking down Riley? (probably not the right kind of dog for that)
  • What's that smell?

Wait. What was that smell? It was as if the entire forest had passed gas without a sound. Harry put away his pen and phone and looked up, deeper into the forest. Smoke. Smoke meant fire. A wildfire? Perhaps. But a wildfire didn't smell of sulfur. The part of his mind in charge of keeping him intact said to not go towards the smoke, but his intuition told him something important was in that direction. The kids weren't really that high on his priority list. He could afford to leave them behind. Notebook still in hand, and set off in the direction of the sulfurous smell.

"Well..." She was about to comment about hte magic issue since well she dabbled with it a decent bit. She knew different kinds of magic, she knew rituals, invocations, ways to defend, ways to utilize basically she knew a lot. Probably a lot more than any average hunter did. She was going through a teenage phase as many people did way back at highschool. Rebels and all such. Then she learned it was pretty useful as general tool for hunting.

"That's... not good." She noted, smelling the sulfur. Demons... why did it have to be demons. Chances were good whenever sulfer was present demons weren't far behind. That or some other critters..." We've got the special bullets?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at Abe. If not htere might be a need for a really rapid adaptation for some.

In the meantime she pulled the bundle of her sword in her hand, not unwrapping it out of the cloth, but having it in her hands made her feel more secure that nad she could use it to block melee attacks with it. Besides demons was a thing you'd at best hinder few things can actually kill one.

"If one shows up.. we are in some deep trouble. Better follow the sulfur." She added with a frown of concern." Listen if something happens... gramps just go. I will stop it for a little while, you just find the kids and make them leave. Tell them a wolf or bear's attacking or anything."

Joey chuckled. "Then that leaves you with the dog and whoever Shaggy supposed to be. You have fun with that."

Speaking of Shaggy... he mused as he gave the red dog now beset by Sadie a sidelong glance. Something seemed off about the dog, he just couldn't place what. He hated the feeling of knowing something was out of the ordinary but never getting a reason as to why it so.

As if on queue, a horrible creeping sensation followed by an icy chill and the smell of rotten eggs assaulted Joey's senses.

Now something was most definitely wrong.

"Smells like a reason to go home to me." Joey said as he instinctively tucked his hands into his pocket and curled his fingers around his phone and keys. They certainly weren't weapons of war, but he felt a semblance a safety at least knowing he had the police on dial just in case something went down.

Joey's guts had never been wrong before about danger, and he wouldn't doubt it now.

Despite his own cautiousness, others where rather dubious. He eyed the pasty-skinned salary-man who made his way towards what he assumed was the direction in which the smell originated. Joey wouldn't be following him.

Finley Alestair

Finley was in her own little world so anything Declan was saying was going in one ear and out the other. Which she would slap herself for doing, but something bothered her. She couldn't put a finger on it, but there was something. And then it hit her.

It was another vision. This time, she saw an empty house with robed individuals. There wasn't much there, but still...robed individuals and there is a recent murder and disappearance? Had to be connected somehow, right?

Finley was brought back with a small jolt. She probably looked really weird to Declan. "Sorry, got lost in thought there. Not typical of me. By the way, random question, but I don't suppose you know of any abandoned houses around here? It's a...feeling I have. I want to go check that out." She still wanted to tell Declan what she was experiencing, but it was a pretty intimate secret. As much as she wanted to share with Declan, it would be best if she confided in all her friends at once.

Including Jenna, who had lots of explaining to do herself.

Jenna Westbrook

Location: the Voodoo Shop

Jenna watched Miss Halsey like a hawk as she took the book. She was a tad bit worried that Miss Halsey would attempt to claim it as her own and would refuse to return it. But even if the woman practiced magic, she was fairly confident she could take her in a fight if needed. Voodoo had to have some prep time required, whereas ripping a book out of someone's hands and running was a fairly fluid motion. Thankfully, though, Miss Halsey returned the book and Jenna placed it inside her bag.

"Interesting," Jenna commented. By principle, she felt obligated to keep the book now. Ever since she learned of her adoption, she became more and more defiant of authority. Miss Halsey's warning was then perceived as a challenge, despite its good intentions. And even if it hadn't been Jenna's stubbornness driving her decision, there was still the fact that it was evidence in an investigation. While no one in the police knew about this particular piece of evidence, she wasn't about to burn it.

"Tell me about demons," Jenna requested. "And don't hold anything back. I don't scare easy." Of course, she already had a plan formulated in her mind for her next move, once she got the rest of the information she needed. She would approach this problem scientifically. She could head home or to a place where no one would disturb her, and once there, she could try the book out for herself. There was a fair chance that it was all nonsense, but her gut told her it was real. The more she understood about how this worked, the more she'd be able to understand what happened to Mayor Ryder.

This cannot be a good idea, going into the cellar of some creepy boarded up house. Problem was, there was no other way in. There had to be something in this house that someone didn't want others to see, but what could it be. The cellar door was definitely not the best way of getting into that house, but it looked like there was no other way inside. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she followed James down below.

The inside was just as bad as she thought it would be. There were a few things in there that she did not expect. The animal parts in jars for one thing. She had no idea which parts of the animals they were, and she was not wanting to find out. Lydia did have to agree with James on this one, this was really weird. "Alright then, what the hell is this place?" she asked, looking over at James.

Alice Lynche

Location Her Cottage

Alice slowly weaved through her small squad of mannequins, giving the boy a wink. They could be creepy to some, but for her. She had little doubt robbers had passed her flat by seeing the models wave about as she worked on some hem or other. Believing more people in the house than one little young lass like herself. Turning her attention back to the grandmother as she snagged two teacups from a small cupboard in her living room- a spare set of cups that matched the ware she was currently using. She set the cake on her coffee table, scattered with various fashion magazines and sketches of new ideas.

Sitting in a large and overly stuffed floral chair, she poured the tea into two other cups on two matching saucers. Perfect English tea. She had tried some of this American stuff and it just hadn't suited her well at all. "Yes I do my own sewing. Part hobby, mostly career. I tailor a bit as well as design online fashion. A bit of everything." Her cheeks turned slightly pink with pride of her work. As she offered the woman one of the cups. "I hope you don't mind. It's english tea from my home, if it tastes a bit strange to you. I'm rather fond of the drink." She offered over a open tin of biscuts. Large cookies with sugar, some with nuts and those could be clearly told from the rest. Others had a tad of chocolate in them.

Taylor smirks and thinks, 'Oh, aren't you a good boy?' Laughing to herself, she calls Sadie back to her, which she obediently returns to Taylor. Tongue lolling out. She looked off towards the treeline and made a face, holding her breath as much as possible. The smell was overpowering her senses. If it wasn't for her ability to keep herself together, she might have thrown up due to it. She was really trying not to, at this point.

"Yeah, um.. I second going home." Taylor looked over at Harry and muttered under her breath, "Let the detective figure it out."

Declan shook his head and dropped his hand, shoving both into his pants pockets. "Honestly, I don't. I try and avoid coming up here as much as possible." He looked around at the surrounding trees a moment before beginning to walk off down the trail they'd come up before. He pulled out his phone and saw he had a text from his girlfriend. The one he left unread. Something about their skype call would have to be delayed until tomorrow because she was going to be out late with 'the girls'. He furrowed his eyebrows at the message and typed out a reply, but when he went to send the message, he noticed it wouldn't send through. A glance at his service bars told him why. Stopping in his tracks, he looked back at the mine and half wondered if Gwen might actually be in there.

'I really hope she's not lying to us.. if she is, I'm gonna live to regret this...' He placed his hand out to motion for Finley to stay where she was, taking a deep breath before storming inside of the cave. His muscles began to ache all over, but he ignored it as best possible.

Clifford watched the dog leave with some relief and wondered once more why he was here with all of these people trying to find someone he did not even really know. He continued following the group at a bit of distance so as to not be too close to have to interact with them. Luckily, as he walked the tag on his collar did not make any noise as he trotted through.

Then Clifford inhaled and smelled the sulfur. He paused and came to a stop before inhaling more, his nose twitching as he really took in the scent. He found himself slowly backing away with his ears lowered against his skull as he growled softly. That was a smell he did not like even in the slightest. That sulfur scent...that could mean nothing but bad things.

@Morose Ms. Halsey raised an eyebrow when Jenna asked her what she knew about demons, and she knew quiet a lot she had been living a really long time and she had her fair share of demonic encounters. "When they aren't possessing someone they are usually seen as black smoke. They can possess anyone and they tend to have black eyes, a Devil's Trap can be used to trap a demon." Halsey said as she reached for a book and flipped through the pages before finding a picture of a Devil's Trap. "Holy water will easily burn a possessed demon, hallowed ground will prevent a minor demon from entering. Iron also burns a demon and an iron barrier will prevent them from entering, also use salt that will burn them or put it in a doorway, also purified human blood can cause them extreme pain." Halsey answered looking at Jenna as she set the book into her bag once more. "If you do plan on summoning one you better be careful they are very tricky." She also warned.

@FantasyChic@Infamous Auror The only abandoned house in town that Declan would know is the one that is just outside of town, which also happens to be where Lydia is at currently. There was a lot of rumors about that house that it was haunted, or it was used for demonic worship years ago. Though the most recent information about the house that it was bought out by Mayor Ryder about a year or so ago, but other then that the house was never used. And it was just on the other side of town a short car ride from the center of town as well if they chose to go and take a car.

@BlueSky44 James turned to look towards Lydia for a moment and gave a slight shrug as he walked towards the center of the cellar he stopped to see a strange looking alter in the corner of the room. And at the very center of the room was a large symbol. "I'm not sure at all really looks like this was some sort of cult hangout." James answered giving a slight shrug as he looked over towards her. "I think we should get out of here this is getting way to creepy for me." He said as he stumbled backwards his back hitting one of the shelves as some of the jars in there fell and shattered onto the ground.

@LadyRunic The elderly woman smiled towards Alice and thanked her for the tea. "This will do just fine thank you." She said as she looked at some of the drawings and concept ideas that were there. "These look really good." She said as she took a sip from the water, she would occasionally watch her grandson as he walked around the room. If Alice looked closely towards the young boy his eyes flashed black for a moment giving her a slight smirk before continuing to walk around the room and sat down next to her. "So what brings you here to this little town of ours?" She asked.

Abe then turned his attention back towards his niece suggesting that he run off if something happened and to get the kids out of there. "Aint gonna do that, your faster I aint at my prime anymore so if shit happens you get them out." Abraham suggested and he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

He then started to hear a few twigs snapping he quickly drew out his gun and aimed it at Harry as he caught the younger man running down the woods. He sighed and started to grumble something to himself about people and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Could have almost shot you." Abe said towards Harry, eyeing him up and down for a moment. "Where you going anyway?" He asked trying to make it sound like he was just a small game hunter.

Finley tried to think of where the building could be. That was before Declan, looking somewhat frustrated, motioned for her to stay put as he walked towards the silver mine.

Did he forget who he was talking to?

There was no way she was about to stay put while he went off into the mine alone. Regardless if Jenna was actually in there or not, it was dangerous, idiotic, stupid, and pointless.

And it was kind of hot that he was concerned about her.

She shook herself off of that little thought before she followed closely behind. She wasn't about to let him go at this alone. There was a nagging feeling that it was a bad thing for him to go in there. She wouldn't live with herself if he got hurt on her behalf.

Joey couldn't help but pause as he noticed Olivia's seemingly downtrodden demeanor. She was likely torn up inside; she wanted to find her friend but not at the expense of others.

He glanced in the direction of the smells origin. Unfortunately, he couldn't for the life of him go any further than he already had. No amount of sympathy or pleading would get him to investigate whatever the hell that was. Inexperienced civilians shouldn't have been trying to do the police's job anyway. It wasn't in their place. Nevertheless they would try; he could almost bet they would be back here in a few days. He just wasn't sure if anyone was going to like what they found if the worst case scenario, or the "likely" scenario in his eyes, came to pass.

Joey sighed. "Your the boss Liv, what do you want to do?"

Harry Kingsfield

Harry looked over towards the old man and much younger woman that accompanied him. He had had guns pointed at him before, but never in a situation like this. He turned away from the smoke further into the forest to face the unlikely duo. What were they anyways? Father and daughter seemed the most likely answer. Why were they out here? Probably the same reasons as everyone else. No sufficient cause for suspicion.

"I'd appreciate it if you'd aim your weapon away from me." His cop instincts were ablaze to use a more forceful approach to the situation, but they were all civilians now, and he didn't quite have the force of the law behind him anymore. Brandishing a weapon at an officer wasn't quite so heinous a deed when the officer in question had dropped the job some time ago. Dangerous position he was in aside, he was confronted with a question from the senior citizen, but seeing how he had no authority over Harry nor any incentive to comply, the detective had no reason to answer him. Aside from the gun. But the old man didn't seem inclined to use it, and Harry had a gun as well.

“Hmm for future reference, let's always keep a few of the trapped bullets just in case.” Kosara proposed as Abe told her he did not in fact bring any demon specialized tools. Not that she brought any herself, though that said this was an oversight. Out here in the forest away from the car and any main source of tools to combat the evil, it was rather unfortunate.” You do know you cannot really last any even reasonable time in a melee fight with a demon right?” She asked him, though he did have a point. If it came down to it, she'd have to either banish the demon away, trap it and or evacuate the children away from the lake area.

When the sound of movement was heard as Abe aimed his gun, Kosara was using gripped her wrapped in cloth sword, ready to whack the possible attacker in a smooth draw, but it wasn't required in the end. It turned out to eb the private detective who was hired by Riley's parents to find her. Rather curious place to find him to be... though if he was here then he was doing work. Still at least she didn't point a gun at him.

“Now now, no need to get all angry you two.” Kosara suggested with a smile, her overall body posture suggesting a certain degree of relaxation, but she still was ready to jump like a spring and attack.

Lydia watched as James walked towards the center of the room. After a moment, she followed behind, looking around at everything that was there. This place was definitely not what she expected, that was for sure, and it was strange to be wandering around in the cellar of some strange house. The cellar as not exactly what you would think, and the fact that there were animal parts in jars was still unsettling.

When she saw the symbol, she stopped. That was definitely not something you see every day. It was really creepy to her, and the fact that there was an alter was a little unsettling too. When James backed up and knocked one of the jars to the ground, Lydia could agree that getting out of there was probably a good idea. "Yeah, let's get out of here, this place is giving me the creeps too," she said, turning around and headed back towards the cellar entrance.

Jenna Westbrook

Location: the Voodoo Shop

Jenna nodded, making a mental list of everything she mentioned. She'd be able to grab those supplies later on that day, then, and carry out her two-pronged method of investigation later on. Looking for Riley's ghost in the woods would be a good plan, as well as testing out Mayor Ryder's book. At the very least, she'd film what she was doing. If she died mysteriously, she imagined Finn or Dec would come looking for her.

But thinking on them, Jenna glanced at the time. She had spent way longer than she imagined here. Finn and Dec likely had figured out that she wasn't really at the Silver Mine by now..."Thanks. This helped," Jenna said to Miss Halsey, before hurrying out of the shop. Mayor Ryder would have to wait for a little bit - she had her appearance as a normal teenage girl to keep up. Pulling out her phone, she thought about what she could message to Finn and Dec, before deciding against it.

Taking off at a run, she sprinted towards her house. Once she got there, she'd pull out her keys and hop in her car, heading out to the mine. If she did things correctly, she'd be able to stash her car a quarter of a mile away and walk the rest of the distance. Finn and Dec wouldn't notice her car pulling up, giving away her lie. And if they were still looking around the mine when she arrived, she could likely make it out that she had been there the entire time and they just missed her.

Or at least, she hoped that would work.
