The Unicorn galloped as fast as his four legs would carry him. After a few moments he actually began teleporting in small bursts. The spell was advanced, and not many Unicorns could use it easily especially over longer distances. But using it in shorter spurts like this wasn't nearly as difficult or taxing, and it let Astral Gleam cover more distance in a shorter time. He'd already chosen his destination early on. One of the object's trajectory took in the direction of the Castle of the Two Sisters. As that was one of the only real landmarks in the Everfree Forest, that made it the easiest to get to without getting lost or turned around.

Just about there.

Astral could make out the ruins of the Castle in the distance. Wouldn't be long now before he made it there. He slowed briefly when he felt a rumbling coming from the direction of the Castle, but his pause was only momentary. Nothing would stop Astral from studying these falling objects, whatever they were. Nopony ever got anywhere without at least taking some risks and this was no different. In moments the Crystal Unicorn came bursting into the front courtyard of the castle with one last short range teleport for good measure. He didn't register the presence of the Zebra or other creature at first. Rather, he was fixated on the crashed... vessel? The strange shape was absolutely nothing like anything he'd ever seen... nor was expecting.

"A... ship? I was expecting a meteorite of some kind, but a vessel? This is far bigger than I could have possibly imagined. And it looks like I beat the Shadowbolts here to boot. Perfect!" still not registering the presence of the other two, Astral approached the crashed object to look at it more closely. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that he would have been a fool to pass up. Still, he approached slowly. Astral Gleam was curious, but he certainly wasn't stupid.

~~Ebon Shael~~

@Shoryu@Ninja

Ah...wait...

Did....

Did the quadruped not understand her?

Gasp

"Oh woeful day! I have met a new species for studying and yet knowledge is not to be had!" In a rather overly dramatic fashion, Shael brushed the back of her hand against her forehead. "Oh sweet twilight, thou art cruel! Keeping the delicious bosom of understanding from me!" More importantly, though, that robot said something quite rude in their native tongue. It was obviously a mispronunciation since it didn't seem to be completely understanding what they were saying.

However - she did recognize its language! Why, it was english! Was this a human robot?

"Ah, robot! Do you kiss your creator with that foul mouth of yours or-" She giggled in near-perfect english, but before she could finish her joke, the ground shook beneath them, causing her to stumble lightly. Shael's eyes immediately flicked from the two others and then towards the door of the castle as Zecora had done. Well that wasn't right at all, was it? That didn't feel like a natural phenomena. Natural earthquakes were far more chaotic feeling than that - that one felt calculated. Or rather, artificial. Was something large trashing around somewhere?

well, no matter.

"Hmm, has our Quadruped friend here not had sustenance in awhile?"

~~The Wreck of the Eventide~~

Not far away back at the wreck, Jessiel was busy taking inventory of how much supplies they had left. Five of the 13 Ebon remaining were on guard duty, leaving just eight left for physical labor, inventory, and doing what repairs they could. Honestly? It wasn't looking good. They didn't have the parts or resources able to repair the Eventide. Sure, they had a replicator, but it was for smaller scale things. Ammo, clothing, weapons...not an industrial sized one.

"Lord Jessiel." A voice interrupted him from his calculations, a quiet hum in his head from the guards telepathic abilities.

"Likely native organic spotted. Approaching the ship."

"I'll handle it. Observe and remain on standby in case hostilities ensue." With that, Jessiel turned his head in the direction of Astral Gleam. The crew hadn't made any effort to hide themselves, after all, they had little reason too for the moment. They were working under the assumption there weren't to be any hostile parties involved, after all. Slowly Jessiel turned to face the native Pony who was approaching their ship.

Upon seeing Astral Gleam, Jessiel observed quietly for a few moments. Quadrupedal. Intelligent seeming...mastery of magic? That horn looked like a conduit, much like their own bodies were used to channel less physical energies.

"...friend or foe?" Jessiel asked bluntly. "The Ebon have no desire for conflict. Merely study."

Of course, All Astral Gleam would hear was several low hums and chimes, as if the creature was singing something. Astral Gleam would quite quickly realize that the wreck still had a fair number of Ebon scavenging supplies from the ship. For the most part though, none of them seemed hostile.

He might recognize something moving at the edges of his vision just out of sight beyond the dense trees of the Everfree - the five Ebon working on guard duty were already moving into position if this creature was hostile in any way.

The White Company

Elijah made is way into the Verrikan's armory. Inside he found his squad gearing up, Elijah noted that Jorgal was sticking with his claymore shotgun and a striker assault rifle, Ghalo was was going with a light machine gun and some handcannon, Linass looked like she was sticking with a heavy sniper rifle and a submachine gun. Walking over to his locker, Elijah punched in the keycode. Inside sat his armor he had it custom made in Omega by a very reputable source who didn't come cheap. Once Elijah was armored, he looked at the back into the locker; in there sat his old helmet back when he was working for a private security company. That helmet had saved his life countless times. Placing the helmet on his head, Elijah made sure that it was airtight. Whatever unknown pathogens and other fun stuff that could make him sick was on this planet Elijah did not want to deal with. Elijah activated the suits air filtration system. After running a quick systems check to make sure everything was linked together and running properly, Elijah grabbed his two other weapons, M-11 wraith went on his back, the Executioner pistol he grabbed from his room earlier, grabbing his heavily modified M-7 Lancer, Elijah left the armory.

Making his way to the cargo bay, The Leader of The White Company gathered his squad around him."Alright, here's the plan for us. We are going to scout the surrounding area. I'm thinking we don't go any further than five kilometers. I want us to scanning everything. If we are stuck here for longer than we have to be. I want to know what we can and can't eat. Take samples if we need to. Hopefully this planet has some stuff that our favorite Turian and Quarian can eat. Also make sure to keep your helmets on. I don't want any of us catching anything. We don't know what type of diseases are here." Pausing for a moment, the veteran mercenary looked at his squad. "If we come across intelligent life, we are as of right now not making contact. Observe them first. If possible." Elijah said not wanting to provoke any native life. He might not been around during the First Contact War but he knew of what happened during and after the war. Causalities on both sides, political ramifications, humans being painted as the aggressors. That wasn't something Elijah wanted to happen. Sounds of acknowledgment went around, Elijah nodded his head and made way to the ships ramp.

Pressing a few keys on his omni-tool, Elijah lowered the ramp. From his first look outside all he saw they have landed in a thick forest. Elijah stepped onto the unknown planet for the first time. Turning back to face the ship, Elijah pressed a few keys on his omni-tool and once more closed the ships ramp. Grabbing his rifle from his back, Elijah kept it at the ready position, from his HUD he saw that there was contacts heading in his direction."Weapons ready team we have something incoming. Don't fire yet." Elijah said. Using his left hand Elijah pointed for his team to spread out a bit. "Whoever you are stop! We will fire on you!" Elijah shouted at person running at them. From the limited light, the shape looked vaguely humanoid behind him though was what looked like wolves. "Fuck alright don't fire at the person go for the shapes behind him. Move forward we don't want to hit him." Elijah said running toward the animals.

Once he was close enough. Elijah noticed that the person that was running towards them was human. 'How did a human get here? Maybe he crashed here as well. I'll question him later.' He though turning his attention back to the animals Elijah decided it was time to use some biotics. With his left hand Elijah gathered the dark energy into a small spear like object. With a simple flick of his hand, the lance flew toward one of the animals. Upon hitting the wolf like beast the lance exploded killing the creature instantly. Elijah's squad was already engaging the other animals. From his internal comms, Elijah heard his XO speak. "These animals look like they are made of wood. How the fuck is that even possible." Linass asked. In response to her question Jorgal the resident Krogan laughed. " Whatever these wooden varren are they are easy to kill. Almost like pyjaks. Elijah, I'm going to be disappointed in you if this is the planets toughest creature." Elijah sighed. "For now lets focus on killing these things then we can question our local human." Elijah said through the internal comm system. A couple of the wood wolves closed in on Elijah. Wanting to test a theory, Elijah activated his omni-tools flamethrower. The field they landed in brightened for several seconds as Elijah burnt the the wooden wolves. The few remaining wolves were quickly put down as Elijah's squad continued to shoot at them or in the Krogans case stomp on them at least for the one closest to him.

@WanderingDragon
Turning their attention back to the human that ran towards them in the beginning. Through his internal comm system Elijah spoke to his squad. "Jorgal, Ghalo keep you weapons out but ready in case this guy decides to pull anything. Linass, put your weapon up. Let's go talk to this guy." Collapsing his rifle on his back, Elijah walked towards the other human. Elijah and Linass stood in front of the kid. Jorgal and Ghalo stood a few paces behind them. Looking at the kid, Elijah had to guess he was probably be around fourteen to sixteen. "Alright kid. Who the fuck are you? And how the hell did you get here? Did your ship crash or someshit? What colony are you from?" Elijah asked his questions in rapid fire. Linass looked at Elijah with an almost 'why the hell are you asking so many questions' kinda a look. Though with wearing a full combat hard-suit it was kinda hard to tell. Elijah just shrugged at her and waited for the kid to respond.

@RangingWolf

When the ship opened up, Escotto's eyes lit up like a kid at Christmas. "Real, actual aliens!" Then they pulled out guns. "Oh, look, it's the welcoming committee!" And then began to shoot at the creatures chasing him. "Oh, they are on my side, cool!" Skidding to a stop and turning, Escotto finally got a good look at his pursuers. Basically they were wolves cobbled together by wood and magic. There was mystical power being thrown around on both sides: From one armored alien firing off spears of... That's not Qì in itself. Perhaps Dark Energy? Something to ask Ned about when he got back, to the wolf that got impaled by said spears.

Cocking Ramona back, Escotto prepared to retaliate, until one of the wolves burst into timber.

"Ooookay!"

He turned to another, about to split it with a spinning side kick, before one of the bigger aliens stomped it to pieces.

"Oh. Well, in that case..."

Seeing another wolf, Escotto prepared to throw his other switch blade, before one of the aliens shot it to pieces.

"Can I just...?"

There was one last batch. Escotto concentrated, about to use the Northern Shaolin's Fengshi's Fury... Only for that alien tossing around dark energy to sudden burn them to ashes.

"Oh, c'mon!" Escotto grunted.

The wolves were no more. And now the aliens were approaching.

"Okay, Escotto! This is the moment you've been training for your whole life! If they got a hot alien chick with them, and you play your cards right; you'll be the first human to score some alien poon....! If she's ugly as fuck, then abort and ask if they can give you a ride back!"

He turned to the two aliens that approached. Getting a good look at them, one of them, who bombarded Escotto with questions, looked humanoid in his suit. "Yo, hold up, hold up!" Escotto interrupted. "Are you like for real aliens, or the broke-ass kind that's just humans with a different coat of paint?"

While waiting for an answer, he turned to the other alleged alien and began to answer the first one's questions to her instead. "Name's Escotto De La Rocha. AKA, El Tormento. AKA Mister Wonderful (No, I don't have a dozen roses for you!). AKA Doctor Wreck yo' shit! And the reigning champ'in of Shàolín (Along with mi hermano). I hail from the distant and mysterious region known as "México". I bring peace, badassery, and good dickings for the females (if they're hot)!"

Astral Gleam

@Rune_Alchemist

The sound of a... voice of some kind stopped the Unicorn from advancing any further. Of course, if it was a vessel then that naturally meant it had passengers. Why didn't that occur to him before now? Maybe his eagerness got the better of him? Either way, Astral Gleam looked up at the... creature that produced the voice. Unfortunately, Astral didn't understand a word of it. Visitors from another world, after all, so a language barrier was only natural. But how to get around that? Some kind of communication needed to be established otherwise the contact could lead to some form of violence. The Unicorn's eyes brightened up as an idea came to mind. Suddenly a peculiar book floated out of the Pony's pack and its pages seemed to turn themselves in front of his face. The book itself was adorned with gilded edges and had arcane symbols inscribed on the cover. Most Ponies wouldn't recognize it unless they regularly studied magical runes.

Then, with a bit of caution Astral looked directly at the visitor in the hopes of making direct eye contact. It was only then that he noticed that the creature was bipedal and... didn't appear to have a mouth, or at least one that was visible in this darkness due to dark colored skin. A flash came from the Unicorn's horn, it glowing with an arcane light that matched the sky blue color of the nebula image visible on his flank. And then, images appeared directly over the Unicorn's head. They were were a short series of pictures, depicting the Unicorn himself and the visitor addressing him. In the first... panel - for lack of a better word - the two were staring at each other and had speech bubbles as if they were conversing. However, there was a red crossmark overlaying it, symbolizing their inability to understand each other. In the second panel, the Unicorn was depicted casting another spell. In the third, an arcane circle appeared under the Pony's and visitor's feet, once again they possessed speech bubbles. But unlike the first panel, in this one there was a green check mark overlaying the image, hopefully symbolizing their newfound ability to communicate. Astral had to hope the simple message conveyed by his projection spell was understood, because in the next moment he cast a new spell from his spell book that summoned the very arcane circle at his feet. If the message got through, the visitor would enter the circle.

"Ahem..." Astral cleared his throat, "...this circle is an Arcane Language Field. Anyone who stands within its radius should be able to transcend language and understand one another. Do you... understand me now?"

The Changeling Crew

@thedman
"Well everyone... I think I know where we 'need' to strike..."

Those in the crashed ship couldn't 'see' it any better than those in the cloaked one that was quickly closing the distance, but the changelings could 'sense' what was coming...

Down in the ship though-

The Adjutant Chimed once more *Beep* "Sergeant! Seismic activity has reached our perimeter" *Beep* "Surface breaches detected, unknown life-forms are are crawling out, both from the ground, and within caved in paths detected beneath the ship's crash-site..." *Beep* "Confirmed non-zerg, species unregistered in UED database..." *Beep* "Each one has begun radiating small amounts of the unknown energy source."

Reports began coming in from various members of the remaining crew about strange monsters clawing their way through the hull of the ship like paper, several had begun incoherent screaming into the comms that did not stop quickly to imply something was 'just' killing them, some had shouted something about shooting them not seeming to affect anything.

*Beep!* "Sergeant, it appears that a number of crew members have broken into a manic hysteria." *Beep* "... I am unable to ascertain the cause of this hysteria."

That was about the time that something seemed to start clawing it's way into the vehicle bay as well... or rather, some 'things', what it looked like was something more befitting nightmares, although many might argue that the Zerg were far more fundamentally terrifying. Though these things looked like they shouldn't be capable of functioning, the zerg at least followed understandable biological requirements, these things behaved like something out of a horror story, crawling around like corpses on the move or jittering along like some kind of otherworldly horror.

*BEEP* "Sergeant" Yet again the Adjutant chimed in without much time for him to have replied with another update. "The larger individual signature is drawing closer and still devoid of visual recognition..." *Beep!* "Unknown Energy build up detected from the cloaked signature. Caution is advised."

Captain Cloak

This really was a bummy situation... Food was going to be exceedingly limited after the crash, their stock of hours was going up in smoke, and what was left was either burning or ticking down until it reaches the right heat level to explode and kill them all... And the captain was 'still' babbling on and on.

*CLANK!* "I. Found. Him."

The captain whirled around to spot the big something pulling someone else out of the hole in the ship... quickly revealed to be a slim brassy something dressed up in a butler's suit, which the Captain shamelessly pulled out of the big one's hand and embraced "AHHH! COGSY! You DID make it!"

*Click-fzzzzz-Chk!* "In-deed... a lit-L singed-and*Fzzzz*over-heat-ed... Also" *kzzzzt* the voice paused for a bit as the sound of thumping and creaking vegitation came from below the ship. *bbzzzz* "Thee for-est is en-cro-ching on-thee-ship... Thee clays are hold-eeng it back... poor-lee." *Chnkzzzzz*

The captain set him down with those words, suddenly a lot less 'playful' as he toddled to the edge of what little of the ship they could actually stand on with the wreckage... he couldn't see much from there, but the subtle presence of vines that didn't burn so well crawling up the sides of the ship. "Clayton... tell me, honestly... are your brother's 'living'?" The lack of mirth in his voice whenever he got serious always set his second's fur on end.

The huge clay thing replied without a hint of difference though "They. Are. not... I would not follow you if you kept the living as servants." To hear him speak in a full sentence without pauses was rare, but always meaningful... though it was unclear if he said as much out of truth, or knowing that stopping to save them would simply be their end as well.

The captain perked up then. "Very well then... We're going! Everyone hop on!" Without a hint of shame he and the other well covered individual climbed onto the big clay things back to hold on, and it grabbed the brassy butler thing and subsequently leapt off of the chip, reaching quite the distance before they crashed through to the forest floor, hopefully safely away from the encroaching vegitation, but they made sure to keep moving just to be sure.

Delightful timing as well, as mere seconds after they touched down the ship exploded anew, blowing the rear half clean off and into the forest somewhere nearby... they could worry about valuable salvage later.

@Rune_Alchemist@ninja
Zecora was already quickly backing up, paying the alien considerably less mind in comparison to the door-way there, though oblivious to what was coming, there an over-bearing sensation that something was... displeased, with their presence there. She really 'was' fascinated by the alien's presence, but inter-species interactions were... not her forte, she needed to incur someone else's attention who could better handle this...

Then the door's slammed open on the castle's fore, a raging wind pouring out and buffeting those beyond... all sight within had been robbed, turning the insides of the castle entirely black despite the moon-light still illuminating things to some degree... oddly, the moon-light seemed to naturally focus onto the door-way, one could only imagine why, it even seemed to glow brighter in general, but it made sure there was enough light to see what sauntered it's way out...

It looked as if a chunk of the night sky had torn itself free of the infinite black and walked out of the castle as frightfully tall quadrupedal creature, looming even over the tall alien creature by several feet... It was difficult to discern features on it aside from the brighter tinted glow around it's edges that hinted as it's shape, but there were also darkened voids where it's eyes could be, something that created quite the nightmarish feeling when peering into...

Suddenly it's muzzle stretched longer, strands of 'night' seeming to shred open into a sharpened maw shape that revealed a light contained within it, and a bone-shiveringly shrill wail was emitted that sent the zebra fleeing as if her tail were on fire, though it looked clearly like a fearful retreat, it was mostly that she was beyond certain this was far beyond her league of threats to face, and had to hope that the two strange creatures could handle themselves... or at least hold on until she retrieved much more powerful assistance.

Meanwhile the creature's maw closed only partially and began an ominously slow approach to the pair of creatures... one point of interest, The robot will not have actually heard the screech from the creature, though it was clearly visible to him, it seemed to only pay attention to Shael.

The Responders

The group had been observing closely from their high perch in the sky... or at least, as closely as they could, but it became clear quickly that not only was the forest agitated by the crashes that had damaged it, but these strangers were obviously not aware of what would make it worse. Incidental fire was one thing with the one that had crashed in the center, but the group near the gorge had actually 'attacked' with fire, the others had... "Shit, this is turning into a critical mass scenario real fast..."

"Orders, Alpha?"

"Right, we can't do much for the one in the middle, it's too surrounded for us to be useful, but we've got 3 other situations to resolve, and eight of us to go around for fixing it"

"Jade Two and Lapis, Take care of the the one's that crashed near the castle, you'll be better for the job I hope."

"Aye sir!""Eee! Sir!. heehee!"

"Pearl, Jade One, and Bronze, Take care of the one's who crashed on the mountain, Lethal force is authorized, the threat looks feral. Pearl, you're likely to make contact with the survivors there, do your best to make 'diplomatic' contact, but it's understandable if they attack defensively first, make sure you get out of their in one piece first, we can let the immortals handle contact after that if need be."
"Understood Alpha""Aye sir!""Heheh, I'll crush em"

"Amber, Ruby, and Myself will hold back the forest so it doesn't kill the other group, remember, hold it back, don't 'attack' it, understood?"
"Eeeheheheheheh! You bet boss man!""Of course sir."

"Good, then Disperse! and send up the signal on the way down."

With that the Either fliers in the air circled around eachother for few moments before soaring down and splitting off in groups, 'something' they did releasing a small ball of color into the sky that soon acted like a flare, creating a rainbow of light in the sky for a few moments as the grouped trailed made bee-lined for the various crash-sights.

@rangingwolf@wanderingdragon

Any local who saw the boy's reaction to his pursuers would have likely laughed madly for a moment before running to get help, or trying to save him in a few bolder cases... Though it may have been a good thing he couldn't see them given the darkness, one can never tell how strangers will react to their first encounter with such creatures, and potentially freezing up in shock is the second worst possible move to make... The first is anything that 'angers' them, like the knife that was imbedded in one and called forth a furious howl instead of a dying whimper.

Handy thing about crashes with such big things though, the ground night become roughed up and less stable, but it also tended to create some very useful clearings, and clearings meant better lighting... hence it became clear that it was something wolf-like chasing... 'dozens' of somethings actually, one of which had a familiar knife still sticking out of it's face. Numerous eyes glowed brightly in the night, better illuminating those strange wooden muzzles, and more seemed to keep joining them.

Lucky for this poor bugger, he ran right into the midst of someone more equipped to fight a 'swarm', and when that biotic lance zipped past him it blew the wolf to pieces... 'killed' might be a bit assumptive though, not that it was too visible amidst the others that over-came the reassembling pieces. Of course, these creatures were no more prepared for an onslaught of ammunition or alien abilities than these aliens were for this planets countless intricacies, they crunched, fell apart, or scattered to pieces quite easily, though one might note basic ammunition was less effective than alternative means.

Those that Elijah had unleashed his flamethrower on were the only deviation from the mad charge, reaction desperately to avoid it, but they went up like dry kindling when hit, being engulfed easily, yet released howls the likes of which belong in nightmares... Anyone present without a mask on might also notice an absolutely horrendous smell coming from them, worse than burning corpses in-fact.

Alas, the understandable ignorance of this world on Elijah's part had seen him stumble into one of the gravest taboos, and the primary reason this forest still stood as it did... Never. EVER. burn anything bigger than a torch or a campfire in the forest, it had extremely low tolerance for damages caused...

Thus, amidst the more relaxed reaction to a perceived ended conflict, the howls were answered by a cacophonous roar that shook the ground, a sound not unlike a million trees crashing and grinding together in the distance, something that could be 'felt' rattling one's bones as much as it could be heard splitting the air. It was undeniably heard for miles around... As was the rumbling that followed... For a moment the forest seemed still and silent aside from that rumble...

Then the tree-line 'exploded' with activity, it was quite literally the roots of trees surging with growth that progressed rapidly towards the ship, soon coupled with vines lashing out and snatching back the pieces of the destroyed wolves amidst the arrival of more of them... And yet it was likely that none of that quite compared to the tree-line more 'literally' exploding, trees both whole and in pieces launched into the air like a giant shot-gun as a single far more massive iteration of those creatures, easily a dozen meters tall, Barreled towards the ship and the fighters outside of it with speed far exaggerated for a creature with such size.

As luck would have it, the surprise blitz was deterred, if only slightly, by a sudden flurry of lightning bolts spraying the general vicinity of the giant Timberwolf, each strike punctuated by a thunder-clap that sent the smaller ones stumbling around and scattered them, though none of it did more than slow them down... interestingly, while it had blown some chunks free, it had produced no fires as one might expect... what was more handy was the streak of lightning that defied logic as it danced through the air on it's way down to the target and impacted it's big woody head with enough force to make it stumble off course. If someone had a particularly sharp eye they might the shape of some'thing' in the impact point on it's head before that same thing launched right back off into the sky with the sound of maddened cackling, successfully diverting it's attention, if only for the moment before it returned to it judged the threat negligible and returned to it's charge.

The Marines in the vehicle bay were expecting a confrontation. They, along with the two Goliaths that stood behind them, were on high alert, prepared to deal with anything. They wouldn't have to wait much longer, as soon enough, the adjutant piped up again, speaking to Carver. He listened intently, tightening his grip on his rifle as he heard that unknown life forms were entering the ship. As the adjutant finished speaking, the comms had lit up with the panicked voices of the crew, talking about creatures that were clawing through the walls of the ship. He could hear screams and gunshots throughout the ship, while the adjutant told him that some of the crew had gone into a state of hysteria. Everyone in the vehicle bay was on edge, looking for any signs of the unknown attackers.

Soon enough, their attention was drawn to the walls of the vehicle bay, as large holes were torn out of the walls, and four-legged creatures began to crawl into the room. While the sight of these monstrous beings might terrify a normal person, Carver only felt his resolve strengthen. He had faced down ultralisks and lived, and he would be damned if some four-legged zombie cockroaches would bring him down. Putting his visor down, he aimed his gauss rifle at the nearest creature, the men around him doing the same. They stood with their backs against the door, forming a semicircle as the creatures closed in on them.

"OPEN FIRE!" With that command, the Marines began to fire on the creatures, unleashing a hail of automatic gauss fire on every creature they could see. At the same time, the two Goliaths opened up, their side-mounted autocannons unleashing concentrated fire on the areas with the largest concentration of the creatures. The UED forces stood their ground, determined to utterly destroy the enemy that had made the mistake of attacking them.

Meanwhile on the bridge, Specialist Lee looked over a terminal, watching as the dot that represented the unknown energy source drew closer to the crashed ship. While they were expecting an attack, they didn't think that their enemy would be able to shred through metal walls like paper. As the adjutant began to speak again, he could hear the sounds of the attackers drawing closer and closer to the bridge. The bridge crew had barricaded the door with leftover debris from the crash, but it wouldn't hold for long. There were four other men on the bridge besides Lee, who were currently aiming their carbines at the door, waiting for something to break through it. A futile gesture, it seemed, given the reports from the other crew members that guns seemed to do nothing against them.

Frowning, he looked back to the terminal as the adjutant chimed in on the unknown signature. The fact that energy was building up around it made him suspect it was a ship of some sort. Likely powering up weapons. It was cloaked, but the energy it was emitting was more than enough to tell the guns where to aim. Looking over to the adjutant, he spoke. "Computer, I want all guns to fire on that signature. Shoot it down."

As the adjutant acknowledged his order, he heard a loud banging noise, and the door to the bridge shuddered as something began to tear through it. Soon, the door was ripped apart, and the creatures outside became visible. As they began to tear through the barricade, the bridge crew began to fire their carbines. With the creatures so close, Lee was able to sense the energy they were radiating better. To his surprise, it felt somewhat similar to psionics. A plan began to form in his head. Let's see how they like this...

As the creatures got closer to breaking through the barricade, Lee began to channel his psionic energy. While all Ghosts could use their psionic powers for lower level abilities, only a select few received enough training to pull off more advanced techniques, and Lee was one of them. Shooting his hands out, he sent a wave of psionic energy towards the nearest creature. It was a move known as a "psionic lash", which involved unleashing a large amount of psionic energy on one target, usually killing said target. Usually.

Outside the ship, the four topside gauss machine guns turned to face the source of the energy signature. Aiming at where the ship's sensors thought it was, they began firing in its direction. The four guns unleashed a stream of gauss fire, lighting up the night. Anyone in the area would be able to see and hear the fire coming off the ship.

"Are you like for real aliens, or the broke-ass kind that's just humans with a different coat of paint?"

Elijah gave a look to his companion. Turning back to the kid. "Depends on the species, some of them look human in nature, though in practicality since the Asari where first its more like we are similar to them. My ship has seven species on it. I'm human if you couldn't tell, don't know how you couldn't. The person standing next to me is a Asari. The big guy behind me is a Krogan and the taller one is a Batarian. The other races on my ship are Turian, Salarian and Quarian. The other species where we are from are Hanar, Drell, Elcor, Volus and Vorcha. Though I really wouldn't count the last one they're more savage. Breed like pests too. Why have you never seen a alien before?" The Veteran Mercenary asked with curiousness.

Elijah looked at Linass with amusement. Linass sighed heavily. "This fucking kid. Probably doesn't even realize that he can't understand me. Sounds like a damn Maiden who thinks she's Athame gift to the galaxy. Badassery? HA. Please I've been fighting for over five hundred years. Good dickings? This kid probably thinks he's going to have some type of harem because he's exotic" Linass said trying to keep her amusement down to a minimum. Escotto wouldn't understand anything she said mainly due to the fact that he doesn't have a translator or a omni-tool. The rest of the group though easily understood her and did their best not to laugh, sounds of snickering could be heard from both Elijah and Ghalo. Jorgal on the other hand let out a loud laugh.

Elijah turned back to the kid. " Alright. So I won't bother translating what my XO said, since she tore your ass. Alright kid listen and listen well. They can understand you but you can't understand them. Since you don't have an omni-tool or a translator. And no we are not giving you a omni-tool. So don't even ask. Since you now know I'm human I obviously know what mexico is. These guys do as well. We spent a week there on vacation after a rough contract." Elijah paused for a second. "As for your other comments, kid if you couldn't tell we are mercenaries. We are basically the epitome of 'badassery', hell we've even been featured a couple times in a very popular extranet magazine called Badass Weekly. As for your last comment." Elijah sighed. It was evident that this kid only thought with his dick. Probably was going through puberty still. Very awkward period. " You're not the Gods gift to the galaxy. The woman standing next to me is over five hundred years, the big guy behind me is even older. No one on my ship is going to fuck you." Elijah said matter of factly.

A loud roar suddenly filled the quiet forest. Followed by loud rumbling and the sound of trees breaking. What exploded out of the treeline was a massive wolf along with a horde of smaller wooden wolves. Very similar to the ones Elijah had fought not ten minutes ago. Only larger. If Elijah had to guess at how tall this beast was he'd say at least forty feet give or take. As the beast started to charge at Elijah's group. Both of Elijah's hand started glowing blue with a motion of his hands Elijah threw up a biotic sphere "Kid! Don't get involved in this fight. Let us handle it. We've handled bigger beasts than this." Elijah turned his attention his squad mates. "Linass, tell Tuana to get to the cock pit and to activate the Gardian network and to start targeting the smaller wolves. After I drop this barrier, I want everyone to prep a incinerate. Fire, when I fire mine. Then spread the fuck out, blink if you have to. Same as you kid. I want you to get under my ship." Elijah ordered.

His squad had already done what was told of them. With his left hand he started prepping a incinerate. The omni-tool glowed like a bright night light signifying that it was ready. Right when the beast got halfway to them a lighting bolt struck it. Though it didn't do any damage surprisingly only stunning it for a second. With the Beast momentarily halted. "NOW!" Elijah shouted dropping the barrier and firing off his the explosive plasma. Striking the wooden monstrosity on the right side of its face. The plasma ate throw the wooden exterior. Three other incinerates landed on large creature striking it along the chest and neck area. Grabbing the assault rifle off his back. Elijah quickly flipped a switch on it that switched the ammo type to incendiary rounds. To his right side, Elijah's XO Linass had thrown a singularity into a large gathering of the smaller wolves. The Jorgal the ancient Krogan saw the opportunity launch a biotic shockwave towards the singularity. Once that shockwave hit the singularity it caused a detonation throwing those caught in its high gravity several meters. Some of the wolves broke apart on impact, some even went far enough to fall off the cliff. "HAHAHA, Elijah I take back what I said earlier. This planet DOES have some worthy foes. HAHAHA" With a almost obnoxiously loud laughter the Krogan started firing off his massive shotgun one handed and throwing shockwaves and incinerates with the other. Any wolf that got to close to him either met his shotgun or the bottom of his foot.

"I'm glad Jorgal. I do my best to please you. Ghalo! Please tell me you grabbed some inferno grenades?" Elijah asked noticing that several of the smaller wolves were getting closer to him despite all the fire. Elijah activated his omni-tools flamethrower and sent a wall of flame towards them immolating all those that got in its path. "I always carry infernos. Only grabbed three though. Didn't expect wooden varren." Came Ghalo's response.[color=2e3192]"Good Im going to throw a stasis on the large one. Hopefully that will stop it for a few seconds I want you to throw two of them onto it."[color] Elijah said. Turning his attention back to the larger beast. He saw it had taken a bit more damage though not enough to take it down yet. With his left hand Elijah threw a stasis onto the large wooden wolf. Because of its size it was frozen like most beings would be instead it was slowed down. With his Inferno grenades already prepped Ghalo threw them towards the beasts side. The grenade got snagged on one of the many branches, with a loud explosion flames quickly consumed the wooden varren's right side.

" Good throw!" Elijah shouted over the chaos of the battle. Seeing the opportunity to add more fire to the mix. Elijah started gathering biotic energy into his hand. Once he felt he had gathered enough he launched perhaps one of the most devastating biotic attacks known to the galaxy; Flare. When the biotic attack landed on the beast it caused one hell of a explosion spreading the flames all across the beasts side and back. Quickly blinking to get out of the way of the beast. Elijah started firing back at the smaller wolves. Glancing quickly to see if his squad was still good. He saw Linass throwing constant biotic attacks with the odd gunshot and incinerate here and there, Ghalo firing off a mixture of concussive shots and flak shots, managing to keep the smaller wolves away from him, to his left there was a good size wall of fire protecting his flank. Jorgal was well enjoying himself. He was still managing to fire his beast of a shotgun one handed and crushing or throwing shockwaves to anything that got within grabbing distance. Over his internal comms Elijah heard his pilot speak. "GARDIAN network is online and targeting. Firing in three, two, one." When the last number was said four laser turrets fired upon the remaining wolves vaporizing those not close to anybody. With a large amount of the enemies being occupied Elijahs squad turned their attention to the larger wolf firing incendiary round upon incendiary round, incinerate upon incinerate at. Hitting it with everything that they had.

It seemed her joke fell flat once again. The quadruped was backing up rather quickly. Ah, pity! She'd need to find a way to break this language barrier before she continued on, wouldn't she? How else could she entertain? One had to understand something to begin with to laugh at something, after all! Like explaining a joke! Explaining a joke was bad form, yes yes!

That aside -

Something was here. Something unpleasant. Something that made her physically frail body tremble lightly. Something was quite displeased, like the President was when she heard news that the Sel'Chroma had attacked one of their border cities. Ah, not fun, not fun. The president was scary when she was angry. Not as frightening as whatever this was - but it certainly was displeased with something.

The castle door slamming open brought her out of her musings, a swift, raging wind greeting them. Cold, merciless, like the ice-blasted plains on the dark side of Sal'Xantis. The silky white strands of Shael's hair blew backwards, the chimes in her hair jingling unpleasantly as they were assaulted as she shielded her eyes with her hand.

And then out stepped something she didn't think she'd see on such a far off planet. The light inside the door had been rendered pitch black, a dark, inky void that not even her enhanced sight could pierce despite the moonlight still illuminating the surroundings. Oddly, she was not surprised to see the moonlight focusing on the doorway. Lunar Magic was standard fare on Sal'Xantis. It was the forte of the merciless cold spirits that lived on the dark side of the planet.

"Shiestal! Beryllius?" Shael's eyes widened in mild terror for a brief moment as the creature of night sauntered out of the castle. The creature loomed over even her, and was nearly completely featureless aside from a tinted glow around the edges and dark, hollow voids where its eyes should be. Whatever could it be? The initial fear was quickly replaced by curiosity as its high pitched wail assaulted her ears.

"Ah, ah, that is not a pleasant tune!" Shael held the side of her head where her ears presumably were as Zecora fled. "Tsk, you couldn't even entertain the Sel'Chroma with that noise! Hee-hee!" She brightly chuckled, shaking her head. It had looked to be something else - something she was far more familiar with. Something that meeting was almost a death sentence on her home planet. But now she merely wanted to study this phenomena, but before she could, she was once again interrupted by an incredibly unpleasant wail. "Ah, curious! Curious thing what are you? Not physical like striped hungry friend, but ethereal like the Ebon!" Despite her talking, she was quite certain this thing would not respond even if it could.

Oh well.

"I should have you know," Shael continued as the dark creature continued approaching. "I am a master in the art of skedaddling! Attacking me will be a fruitless endeavor." Despite her seeming levity, she was already preparing the 13th art to block any potential ranged attack this thing tried.

Thankfully the quadruped didn't seem hostile. If anything, he seemed more curious. Perhaps kindred spirits? Only time would tell. Silently and curiously Jessiel watched as a book floated out of the small horned creatures backpack. Magic? Here? Curious. Mental note made. The book was interesting and something of note as well. He couldn't read it, but that was too be expected of a foreign language. He continued to watch as the creature went about his work. A bright flash came from his horn - a conduit of some kind? - Lighting up the area with a brief flash of blue as images appeared above his head.

Ah, of course. A simple and obvious solution! Visuals were indeed optimal for situations where language failed between two intelligent species. The pictures lacked a certain scientific phenomena, but they did serve their purpose. The second panel seemed to indicate the creature casting another spell, followed by a third. Ah...a communication spell? That was entirely possible.

"Partly." A series of chimes and hums followed before Jessiel paused. "Temporary solution small one." He took a look around the immediate area. "Welcome here? Ebon have no wish for harm. Merely study."

"Depends on the species, some of them look human in nature, though in practicality since the Asari where first its more like we are similar to them. My ship has seven species on it. The other races on my ship are Turian, Salarian and Quarian. The other species where we are from are Hanar, Drell, Elcor, Volus and Vorcha. Though I really wouldn't count the last one they're more savage. Breed like pests too. Why have you never seen a alien before?"

Escotto thought things over as this merc explained things... "Hm, seems you guys're from an alternate universe too..." He mused, mainly to himself.

His eyes glazed over when he started banging on about how badass he and his crew were. "Oh, you mean like every edgy teenager who's played too much C.O.D.? Oh, and as far as not getting laid goes: Challenge accepted! Oh, and I'll let you in on a lil' secret..." He trailed off, leaning close, so only Elijah could hear. "My dick's bigger than yours!"

Before anything else could be said, a roar boomed across the forest.

"Mom?!" Escotto gasped with all the dramatic flair he could muster, and wheeled around. A giant version of one of those wooden wolves stomped its way to them. "Oh, look! It's teh mama! Looks like somebody -not gonna name names- pissed her off!" He said accusingly, despite trying to ignore the fact he threw a knife in one's eye!

"Hey, hey! It didn't kill it!"

Not for the lack of trying.

"Hey, fuck you! I was good today!"

"Kid! Don't get involved in this fight. Let us handle it. We've handled bigger beasts than this."

"Oh, no the fuck you don't!" Escotto piped up. "You ain't stealing my kills again!"

So you admit to-

"I ADMIT NOTHING!" Escotto snapped back, pointing at the sky!

In the chaos, the skater took off, already calculating what he needed to do. He could try one of his Five Symbol Stances: Blue Dragon's venom might not work, Vermillon Bird may not be sufficient, White Tiger and Black Tortoise both required being up in its face, which would leave him open to being sniped on the way over.

What about other techniques?

Star Shadow Dance would have a similar problem as Vermillon Bird Stance. Yogi's Reach might work if he built enough momentum and mass, but if that thing had some natural defenses like spikes, that would not end well. Only viable option from there was Fengshi's Fury. And speaking of such, the mercs had managed to light the big bitch up like a Roman candle.

The thing about Fengshi's Fury, is that the strength of the wind depended on the speed and/or power of its user's strikes. If Escotto wanted to be effective, he'd need to pick up speed. And with the crappy surroundings, that meant he wouldn't be able to use his typical trick of skating up the speed. Now, if he had a tool....

Having reached the forest, Escotto kicked one of the wolves out of his way and made for the treeline before it's buddies cou-

"Hey, those could be its siblings for all you know!" Escotto cut in. "Anyway! Now with a long enough tree branch in hand, Escotto could finally join the party!"

He jumped down, using the branch as a vault to down one of the wolves with a thrust, and cart wheel to the ground. He back-peddled a few steps then bounced off a tree and back into the clearing. The wolves followed him, only to get whacked by the many branches of the... The branch, the whipping power reducing them to timber. One of the wolves managed to bite into it, stopping Escotto's swings. The young Mexicano used that to his advantage, moving with the wolf's jerks and forcing it to the ground before tearing the branch away and using the pointed end to impale it through the mouth.

"And now, ladies'n germs! The main attraction!" Escotto announced.

Breathing deeply, Escotto worked his Qi through his body and into the branch, causing it to take an ethereal glow and quiver as if alive. "Bei Shaolin: Fēngshuǐ zhī nù!" Twirling the branch over his head, the air around Escotto spun, from a dust devil, to a whirlwind, to a violent tornado in a matter of seconds. To add to this speed, Escotto hopped on Romana and popped her into a nose manual. He used this to spin himself as he kept twirling the branch, further adding to the speed and power of the twister until he finally launched it at the wolf.

Once the twister slammed into the wolf, it sucked up all the smaller ones, the trees and anyone unfortunate enough to get out of the way, adding more fuel to the fire as the winds fanned the flames. As this happened, Escotto charged at the giant, apparently not finished.

Sparky

Sparky noticed that the zebra was backing away and before he could ask why, the doors on the castle suddenly flew open, which slightly startled him. A raging gust of wind blew out of the castle and the inside of it was almost completely pitch black aside from a little moonlight. Just then, something horribly frightening walked out of the castle and Sparky hid instinctively. The look of this new monstrosity was extremely scary to Sparky, mostly because in his world it would be impossible for the night to manifest into anything at all. The beast’s mouth opened and Sparky could see it had what were supposed to be sharp teeth, a light coming from within it’s mouth.The zebra that was with them had ran away and it was just Sparky and the alien. The nightly monstrosity was only paying attention to Shael, completely ignoring Sparky.

Sparky was still hiding, only peeking out a little to see what was happening, and he didn’t know whether the alien would be able to fight something like this. After much consideration, Sparky reluctantly decided to try and help. Stepping out from his cover he moved over to Shael’s side, activating his combat mode. ”Sparky will help!” He said, part confident, part skeptical. A wrist-gun came out of Sparky’s right hand’s wrist and a blade replaced his left hand. As much as he wanted to run away and hide, he had decided to help fight the scary night monster. Sparky knew he definitely wouldn’t be doing something like this again for a while.

The Changeling Crew

@thedman

Oh what an exciting day this must have been!... somebody ceased the care about that the moment chunks of metal starts blowing clean through his ship.

"I know we expected those to be weapons, But wow! There's some punch in those things!" He closely monitored the actual effects of the shells that pierced the hull... "Hooo! The penetration power on these things!" Luckily, aside from missing more than hitting since they couldn't see the ship they were shooting at or that it wasn't as wide as the signature it was producing, it seemed they were designed for targets with a lot more 'metal' and armor than his poor wooden air-ship, they often punched clean through with minimal actual damage, but the volume of shots, and the occasional one that found something just durable enough to explode, told him they wouldn't last long even then. "We don't have time to finish charging, fire what we can and throw up the shields as soon as it's away, Deflection calibration."

There was a deep *THRRRooouuuummm~* as the ship's lone weapon fired it's special pay-load and he witnessed a spear like wad of condensed changeling magic, pocked with many different colors, soar towards the ship... Something pinged him though, from his second "Yer dukeness! We're detecting some kind of psychic building up inside the wreck that doesn't mater the rabid ones attacking it. It's no threat to us right now, but I thought you oughta know." Well that was a curiosity wasn't it?! It brought a smirk to his lips "Well, whataya know? they might just be more capable of dealing with them than I thought." It was a moment more before the sea-green glow of the shields tinted his view of the world below... and the sudden prevalence of explosions made it difficult to see through it all.

The shells found a far more durable target target now, though the shield itself was only moderate, the field around it aided in deflecting the trajectory enough so that the explosions, though suddenly countless in number and doubtless more accurate, didn't make it to the hull of the ship itself.

@thedman

Specialist Lee was in for an interesting experience, indeed the bullets did nothing, they seemed to go right through the things, they reacted like their bodies opened holes for the rounds to go through harmlessly before closing back up behind them.

However, as the psychic lash crossed the distance to it's target, the horrid creature seemed to disintegrate well ahead of it's contact, progressively turning to dust and vanishing entirely... 'along' with the hole it had been clawing through the debris, similar could be said for several other nearby creatures, though they seemed to only partially vanish due to the attack targeting something else...

unfortunately, it got their 'direct' attention, something came to perceive him as a threat and began focusing it's effort... or... 'their' efforts? It'd be hard to guess how effective it might be given that the individual pressures were neglible, but dozens of psionic forces began focusing their attention solely on him, causing the creatures pouring in to seemingly multiply out of numerous fresh holes in the walls, even the ventilation, regardless if it was too small. it might be strange to the others on the bridge that they were suddenly utterly ignored, but how would Mister Lee handle it?

@thedman

The adjutant was slowed a but by attempts to discover what was causing the crew to panic so easily, there were actually a great many things it had to focus on in this conflict, not the least of which- *Warning Siren* "Warning! Sergeant! The concealed signature has decloaked and discharged an unknown energy weapon on the ship, defensive fire ineffective, Impact in 5, The signature...4,has raised shields...3...2...!" It was a long few seconds until the ball of energy finally landed and... The ship seemed to be unaffected...

In-fact, in the vehicle bay, the sergeant and his men could see as it harmlessly passed through the hull, evaporating the creatures that had been clawing their way in and leaving a trail in it's wake, it was hardly even the size of a beach-ball, but the creatures it passed near evaporated wherever it was nearby... then it reached the ground beneath the ship and finally detonated, sending a wave of dull blue-green light radiating out from the point of impact that similarly evaporated the creatures in the vehicle bay entirely... it hadn't cleared the ship entirely, horror-ridden reports still came in from many parties, but those nearer to the vehicle bay reported that the creatures had all vanished... along with the holes they had crawled out of.

Indeed, the vehicle bay itself looked to be unscathed now, the walls were all intact and there were no more of the horrors or the holes they had ripped in the hull... although, there were countless bullet-holes now decorating the vehicle bay...

Perhaps of more importance, there now appeared to be something much more physical attached to the shoulder of his armor, hissing angrily and gnawing at the visor of his helmet... It was smaller than the horrors had been, with a faded gray body full of holes, some bleeding green-slime like fresh bullet wounds. This one was clearly alive unlike the strange crawling beasts, with featureless blue eyes staring into his helmet, and slavering over him hungrily. It was not the only one either, there were a couple dozen of them scattered around the marines and goliaths, each one trying almost desperately to get as close to those inside the suits as they could, and each one pitifully ineffective at so much as scratching the armor... Honestly, the things sounded like dying hornets, buzzing and growling angrily but doing little.

With the 'threat' of the ship's weapon firing on them passed, the adjutant pinged once more *Beep* "It appears these creatures are capable of cloaking from visual sensors and-" *Bwwooop!* "Warning, Unknown Psionic Wave-length detected in reaction to Specialist Lee's Psionic Counter-attack." *Beep* "Unknown Psionic Wave-form detected approaching the ship, It appears to be targeting the Bridge." *Bwooop!* "Warning, Unknown life-forms detected in the ship's air-space numbering in the hundreds... matching those left in the vehicle bay... They have been engaged by additional unknown life-forms." *Bwooop!* "Warning! Larger Seismic disturbance detected!"

The ship was suddenly rocked a bit by something that actually 'did' slam into the hull from the outside, how it had enough strength to affect it should be questionable, but -*Beep* "Source determined, Larger variants of unknown life-form are attempting to dislodge the ship from the mountain... One has been engaged by another unknown life-form of considerable size." It was starting to sound like a proper battle had broken out on the outside of the ship in the mere moments after the disruptive blast had landed.

The Responders

@rangingwolf@wanderingdragon

It was quite an onslaught! There were bits of wood both clean or burning flying this way and that from the destructive force of the mercenary's defense meeting the forest's unyielding fury, the night became filled with the terrifying sound of burning timber-wolves the likes of which only the oldest Equestrian's could remember hearing before.

The beast that had only moments before returned to it's charge lurched and howled in tremor inducing fury as half of it's muzzle was engulfed in flames, it didn't let this stop it's charge, even if it had more trouble coordinating it's motions half blinded, as long as it had legs it wasn't stopping, even with the additional blasts of flame coated it's front side and countless peppering bursts of incendiary ammo started new fires here and there and there. It didn't quite register what was going on when it had been slowed down, but the grenades that struck caused it to stumble and have to re-assert it's path... that was, until the flare struck, chunks of burning wood were sent flying the beast finally lost it's footing entirely, the ground shaking violently as many tons of wood and plant matter slammed into the ground and tumbled over itself to a stop, and once it slowed it revealed the missing portions that lost one of it's legs and the broad portions that were missing from it's mass...

it revealed something deeper inside of it that glowed a bright sickly green, a stony object roughly the side of a person and pulsing steadily, though view of it was partially obscured by the smoke and fire still spreading over it's wooden pieces, and was suddenly more thoroughly obscured by the sudden whirl-wind surging into place over it... something that would normally suffocate a flame more than feed it, with the volume of air movement refusing it feed, but the nature of the fire that burned it combined it's volume allowed it to gain more air from the whirlwind's circulation rather than losing it, quickly inviting a new ethereal howl that didn't quite fit the one it had made before...

It was about this point where what appeared at first to be a living lightning bolt blistered past the group of bipeds that had dodged the wolf's charge, it zipped back around a few times all in a remarkably short time before it became slow enough to see and... some kind of winged quadruped in a strange suit became clearly visible as the blur faded, electricity noticeably crackling between it's various limbs, and made lots of noises at them. " AAHAHAHHAHAH! You poor buggers have no idea what you're actually doing do you?! An impressive effort either way, and 'thank' you for making it so much more exciting! but you should stop making it angrier before you make my 'boss' mad, heeeehehehhehe... Oh! and look at that!"

It suddenly pointed to the side, indicating for a bare moment where the forest's countless vines had been circumventing the desctructive nature of the clash and had started spreading along the ship's hull and were trying to push it further so that it would fall off of the cliff. "Heeeeheheh, better handle that fast!" Almost on cue the forest itself seemed to release another distance shriek of fury and the tree-line came alive again... this time, with a vastly more voluminous array of vines and roots trying to close the distance.

Alas, they'd likely only be able to hear a spree of high pitched excitable flute-like noises that just barely matched it's mouth motions... Then it was gone in a flash, the streak of light bolting back up into the sky... Those who tried to follow it to look up would be able to see something else above the battlefield, though it was small and distant, it looked oddly bright and fiery... Those well versed in earth's 'ancient' history, might actually recognize that for some reason it had been wearing a mask reminiscent of plague doctors from an era nearly forgotten in the space-faring future.

"Wasn't it just terribly nice of them to give us a head-start on the tornado?"
"Don't get cocky Ruby... But yes, it is astoundingly lucky timing on their part, as they appear to have only just 'really' pissed it off, hopefully Amber's distraction kept them from capitalizing on it's core being exposed... now focus!"
"Aye!"

Amidst the whirlwind that was growing hotter with the expanding flames, there was a sound not unlike a wooden explosion and a flash of green-light, and the burning chunks of the beast were sent flying loose into the whirlwind to be blown away, while an eruption of vines surged out of the obscured core, snapping out to snatch up whatever debris it could, the trees the tornado had ripped up, the bits of smaller timber wolves, dislodged rocks or broken stone... The damage done had been quite extreme and whatever this thing really 'was' didn't like being exposed.

It's silhouette in the whirlwind seemed to grow quickly as it dragged more pieces from the ground or that the whirlwind itself had picked up, and within moments had rebuilt enough to poke it's head out... Though now that wolfish muzzle had been augmented with something extra, though half of it was still wood and had escaped the burning to some degree enough to simply be replaced with more, other portions were replaced by big chunks of stone that made it look comically deformed in comparison to the wood... It couldn't manipulate the stone as well, and it was quite clear enough in the presence of those vines smothering the stone into place, and the far slower more ponderous pace of the one replaced leg that was now more stony as it reached out of the windy funnel...

That was about the time one might've begun to wonder why the wind wasn't being disrupted by the creature's addition of stone and size, perhaps it was the mysterious power of Qi that neither the natives or other visitors would understand... it may also have something to do with the two more streaks that had come ddown to join the tornado in it's rotations, though these had an appearance more akin to fire-balls with wings, taking up opposing sides of the tornado and maintaining a seemingly impossibly steep turning radius that spilled ever growing volumes of heat into the air, which was inevitably sucked into the funnel and soon grew to a volume that supported the fire pouring off of the 2 sources, and quickly it snowballed in intensity, spreading fire through-out the funnel and freshly engulfing the massive wolf creature, which howled anew as fire surrounded it.

This fire had the one thing that the Mercenary's fires didn't, though they had numerous advantages, instant ignition, plasmatic levels of heat, range, ease of use, all kinds of things, there was 'one' feature it lacked. Persistent production, though the fire would spread, it did not self-propagate in the way this was... Nobody could hold it against them, it wasn't like they knew that such a flammable creature in a world where fire could be conjured on a whim would've developed 'some' way to survive just being thoroughly set on fire, this attempt made sure there was a constant source of fire adding to the burn that was tearing away at it.

It wasn't long before the vines were burned away in enough volume that the rocky bits began rolling out of the tornado... It wasn't as fast to burn logs and whole trees, or blown them apart, but what tried to lumber out of the whirling wall of fire was essentially charcoal that refused to burn fully...

Finally that familiar thunder-clap returned as a bolt of lightning shot down from the sky right through the center of the Tornado, causing an explosion of wind that dispersed the fire broadly enough that it only released a wave of heat on those nearby, and the twin bundles of fire suddenly broke from the funnel, and in the next moment bits of burned wood soared through the air amidst a cloud of ash, while the big glowing core was sent flying off towards the ship. The twin fire-balls streaked off in the opposite direction, splitting off in opposite directions once more when they passed the perimeter of the crash-side and formed a semi-circle with their trailing fire that seemed to cause the forest's assault to recoil... The sources of the fire could be seen making quick U-turns at either end and doubling back to refresh the firewall.

@Rune_Alchemist@ninja

Most locals would have fled in an instant at the sight of such a creature, just incase it were a potential threat better handled by one of their rulers... Naturally, a visitor might not have this instinct, given that they were in a foreign land anyway.

It didn't matter much either way, he didn't attack at first, staring at it with an odd curiosity at it's initial reaction, did it recognize him and rightly fear/revere the danger he posed to it?

...

No, that couldn't be, the fear vanished, replaced with... curiosity? 'mirth'? Was this thing mocking him? It was making many unfamiliar noises at him, some of which seemed to resemble laughter...

His face contorted into a sharp frown... He would have none of this... He would show that all intruders should know fear!

In the next moment the blackness inside the castle erupted out through it's various holes... he didn't understand what had caused this damage, but retribution would be swift coming...

He also noted that the sun had begun to rise in the distance, quite rapidly, with the moon still high, a well known ancient sign of threat... He would fulfill his duties as always and 'deal' with the intruders!

His own shadow had blotted out what light came from the moon and the rising sun, driving the chasm surrounded land into a psuedo darkness, lit only by the countless stars dotting the black... and of course the moon that now seemed to loom closer by the moment... to say nothing of the far larger creature of night that now accompanied him, pouring out of the castle's damaged walls was a much greater mass off starry night-sky that loomed above even the castle itself.

It did not screech so much as send tremors through the air and ground around and beneath it... ground that did seem to actually be getting shredded and bunched up by it's massive touch...

There 'was' something else to be heard.... though it was a very distant sound, a kindof low ringing 'eeeeeeee' that seemed to be coming from somewhere unseen...

He however preened silently, surely ripping a great horror from her past would instill the fear he was tasked with, even if it was incomplete.

Something odd had to be at work... the night was quickly beginning to appear brighter, 'dawn' was breaking far faster than should be natural, though the actual sun-light was a ways off, the sky was taking on the colors of morning and the darkness of the environment was growing steadily brighter by the moment.

It worked! Well, sort of. He couldn't understand everything, but this was definitely a good start. It sounded like they wanted to study the area, or maybe the planet as a whole? Well, Astral had no authority to speak for the whole of Equestria. But he knew enough about how the Princesses operated to make an educated guess. And so that was what he did, "Our rulers decide." he said, his statement likely sounding like a combination of words and whinnies, "But very kind. Value friendship greatly." that was when he decided to introduce himself... or at least try to, "Name Astral Gleam, wish no harm. Astronomer, study stars." along with that last bit he projected a basic image of his Observatory home in the Crystal Empire. Perhaps that and the few words that were getting through was enough to convey his profession and field of expertise to the visitor.

"Saw crash through telescope." he used his magic to hold up his handheld telescope to indicate how he spotted the falling ship, "Thought meteorite, came investigate-" suddenly there were tremors in the ground that interrupted him. Astral looked back behind him in the direction of the Castle. His eyes widened as he saw a number of things that were abnormal even for his world. First of all, the sun looked to be rising sooner than it was supposed to be, either that or Princess Luna was for some reason late to lower the moon. Either explanation was a bad sign. The last time anything like this had happened was a thousand years ago when Luna became Nightmare Moon. But surely neither of the Princesses would allow that to happen, wouldn't they? Secondly a shadowy dome erupted from and then encapsulated the Castle of the Two Sisters. Some old magical defense mechanism, perhaps? The crash of the nearby ship did damage the Castle a bit.

"Not good possible danger!" Astral suddenly said, putting away his belongings and taking a step forward. He stopped however and offered a look at the nearby visitor, "...Investigate?" he wasn't normally so keen on working with others. In fact, had they been ponies he would have just taken off without a word. But he was still curious about the visitors. He wanted to know what they were capable of, and a potentially dangerous situation might be the way to learn such a thing. Was it manipulative? Yes, a little bit. But Astral Gleam had never once claimed to be totally benevolent either.

~~Ebon Shael~~

@Shoryu@Ninja

Ah, oh terrible day! Frightening Memories! How dramatically terrifying!

At first she thought it might not be hostile, considering it had not attacked to start with. It seemed like it was judging her - she felt those stares aplenty back on Sal'Xantis. Ah, how the magisters and nobles oh so loved to look down on the younger Ebons such as herself! Tee-hee! Just showed their own insecurities.

Right, a tangent.

The thought of non-hostilities vanished instantly as a sharp frown formed on the creatures muzzle. The blackest night she had ever seen erupted from the castle, surrounding the area in a dome of darkness as the sun began to rise. A mild thought of the unnatural swiftness with which it rose registered in the back of her head, but she couldn't linger on that. No. She was far too focused on what was taking shape within the darkness.

The shadows swirled, starlight coalescing in place of the shadow being that had originally been there, surrounding it and wrapping it in an even darker night. What once she had thought was simply an implausibility, was quickly seeming to become much, much more real. The shadows swirled, and for a moment starlight twinkled from within, lighting up the darkness with seemingly innumerable amount of nebulae and stars, as if one was staring at the universe as a whole.

But it quickly passed, shifting again in the shadows, quickly boiling into the visage of a monstrosity.

"Ah-" How adorable! The little robot was actually trying to help! "Tee-hee! If only this little Ebon could be as confident as you, little Sparkles!" Shael's voice was still filled with mirth as she spoke, but it was obvious there was a forcefulness to it. The ground shook as to her, an impossibly gigantic creature slammed its ethereal appendage onto the ground, causing her to loose her footing slightly, a mild tinge of pain shooting up from her leg into her chest.

"Hehe! Ah, Beryllius! If you think your illusions will scare this jester," She took a few long, graceful steps back as she craned her head upwards. "Well you are quite right. I'm utterly terrified, Tee-hee!" She jovially laughed again, the gigantic creature lowering its featureless face towards her. Whether this beast had somehow followed her hear or not was irrelevant. She grabbed sparky's hand with a light grip, hopefully spinning him around. "Time to go!~" She made a beeline for the Eventide, deciding not to overstay her welcome.

Well, he supposed their ruler would decide that. A minor complication that could easily be resolved with the exchange of knowledge and culture. Friendship though? How...egalitarian? Perhaps a better word would be better used there, but that was not something the Ebon were known for. Research and knowledge above all else. To be sure, there was something to be said for keeping ones contract and deals, but friendship?...hmm...

"Jessiel'Ralleth." Jessiel replied, his long flexible arm performing a seemingly exaggerated bow. This...quadruped, Astral was an Astronomer? Curious, he would have liked to inquire more, but a violent heave of the ground gave him pause, eyes following Astral's own towards the castle. Odd. The place seemed seismically stable - but that wasn't the only odd occurrence. The sun began rising rapidly, as if the Sel'Chroma and the Sun Emperor were once again causing trouble, overtaking the moon. Secondly - a shadowy dome erupted from the castle.

...

Ignoring Astral, Jessiel turned and in fashion that made it seem as though he was floating, long robes trailing the ground lightly as he moved towards the edge of the crash magical circle and crash site.

"Mass of magical energy." Jessiel observed. As both a scientist, researcher, and scholar, it was easy enough to know how magic worked. It was a little foreign and it did not all make sense, but he did know the threat level was high. "Not unsimilar to Sel'Beryl Lunar magic. Shiestal..." He sighed, a low displeased, drawn out tired seeming chime coming from him. "Jester bringing trouble. Otherworlder," He turned to Astral.

"Dangerous. Should leave." With that, Jessiel seemingly finished whatever words he had for the pony, shouting loudly to the Ebon that had been ready for danger. They moved from the forest, back towards the ship and made a defensive perimeter, using the wreckage of the ship for cover.

They should be dead, Carver thought.

Yet, to his horror, they were very much not dead. The creatures moved steadily forward, seemingly unaffected by the barrage of weapons fire. It was as if the bullets were passing straight through them, like they were transparent. Through the din of battle, he was barely able to hear the adjutant talking. What he heard sent shivers down his spine. As the creatures got within melee range of the Marines, and the adjutant counted down the time until the blast hit the ship, Carver closed his eyes. So, this is it.

He heard the adjutant count down, and then...nothing? Surprised to still be alive, Carver opened his eyes, watching as a glowing object passed by, causing the creatures to evaporate as it passed them. When it exploded, it sent out a wave of light that evaporated the creatures, and to his surprise, fixed the holes they had torn in the ship. Before he could say anything, he felt something on his shoulder. Looking over, he was met by a grey, four-legged bug, bleeding from several holes in its abdomen. His heart jumped, and he threw the thing onto the ground, taking a few steps back. Looking around, he could see several more of the grey bugs, some being thrown onto the ground by Marines. They lay on the ground, buzzing like dying insects. The Marines had seemingly recovered from the shock of the sudden explosion, and were aiming their rifles at the bugs.

As he stood there, trying to process what had happened, the adjutant began to speak again, and he could do little but stand there and listen. Apparently, the ship's Ghost had done something psionics related, and it had really kicked the hornet's nest, so to speak. Even more concerning was the fact that hundreds of the creatures from before were advancing on the ship...and that they had been attacked by something else. As the adjutant reported a large seismic disturbance, the ship was rocked, and he struggled to keep his balance. "The hell was that?"

What the adjutant had to say was a bit...concerning. Larger life forms were trying to dislodge the ship, while being attacked by something else. And all this, in the span of a few seconds! Letting out a sigh, he began to give out orders. "Adjutant, stop firing on the unknown ship. Engage the beings trying to dislodge our ship."

He then opened a line with the Specialist. "Lee, I don't know what the hell you did, but you really pissed them off. There's all sorts of stuff coming your way."

Lee was unsure what effect the psionic lash would have on the unknown creatures. Would it make them explode? Tear them in half? Pass through them, like the bullets had? To his surprise, it seemed to make them disintegrate...as well as make the hole they had been digging in the wall disappear. That was unexpected. Unfortunately, it seemed to draw their attention, and Lee could feel several energy signatures drawing closer. As they poured out of the walls and vents, he realized how much the lash had drained him. He certainly didn't have enough energy for another lash. So, instead, he did what Ghosts do best- disappear.

Channeling his energy into his suit, he activated his cloak, turning invisible in a matter of milliseconds. Performing a (somewhat unnecessary) tactical roll, he moved behind a terminal, trying to hide from the creatures. Looking around for a way to get out of the room, he heard a voice through his radio headset.

"Lee, I don't know what the hell you did, but you really pissed them off. There's all sorts of stuff coming your way."

Looking over his shoulder at the creatures flooding into the room, he couldn't help but roll his eyes. "I am aware of this, Sergeant." He whispered, hoping they didn't hear him.

Trevor Smithee

After seemingly being thrown through a wormhole, Trevor ended up in some sort of dark, mysterious forest, and, taking a quick look at his surroundings revealed that there seemed to be some sort of ruins, nearby. Well, looks like the teleportation thing worked. I'm certainly not in Lucky City, anymore. Trevor thought as he lit his left hand on fire, just to see better in the dark, however, once he did so, he noticed something odd... he was near a chasm... and there certainly weren't enough trees here to blot out the sun like that. The only think Trevor could think of would be someone practicing their dark magic around here, but why here? He shook his head as he headed towards the ruins, his hand still on fire to light the way. Trevor took a quick look around the corner of the ruins to see an odd scene... something to do with a strange alien and a very human-looking robot talking to some sort of cloud, after which, the alien ran away... he couldn't quite make out the shape of it from this angle, but whatever it was, the robot started shooting at it, which had about as much impact as shooting a cloud would. Trevor then thought for a moment... how would one best destroy a cloud-like creature? It seemed to be rather dark, but neither he, nor the robot, he assumed, had light magic to directly counter it, so, they would have to improvise, somehow.

After taking what he thought was too long coming up with a battle plan, Trevor ran up to the robot, and just breathed fire, both on the cloud of darkness, itself, and on a nearby tree, just... desperate to have some sort of light-based THING that might hurt it. "I'm not here to hurt you, I'm a certified hero! I've already saved a world, and I'm sure I can do it again," Trevor said, rather confidently, and in English, whether the robot could understand him, or not. That... was when he finally saw what he was fighting... some sort of horse... the smile on his face immediately faded, and he decided to ditch strategy, and just flew up to the thing to try to claw at it constantly, undeterred by simple things like time, and possibly being attacked while he was attacking the thing. He didn't know, or care what anyone, or anything said to him, after his short introduction... this thing wasn't going to be allowed to live, anymore, and Trevor was going to ensure it. Trevor never thought he'd ever find a hostile horse, but boy, oh boy did THAT ever make him angry... heck, all he was seeing was a vague shape of a horse, tinted red due to his complete and utter rage at the thing. He might not have even noticed the smaller, bluer horse thing that DIDN'T seem to be hostile, right now, and if said horse was near him, and was aware of this rage, they'd probably be counting their blessings.

Celina Letendre

The sound of bent metal filled the room, sparks flying from multiple consoles, the sound of alerts being sent all around the ship right now. That is what Celina was hearing as she get out of her pod, shaking a bit and stumbling around. She moved towards the ship console, checking if it was still ok. Luckily for her, it was still intact at least. She opened communication.

“Is everyone alright? Please tell me that everyone got to safety.” She said, still shaking. No response. This was making her very worried. What could have happened to her crew here. Did they all die? Did they get to safety? That she didn’t know.
“Can anyone respond!” she then says to the console. Silence again, before having one response from the lab section of the ship. “We are ok, but lot of the experiments were destroyed in the process… and that technology just.. disintegrated.” One of the avail just responded. Celina gave in a breath of relief at this, before getting more signals. “Medical bay is alright, but shaken. We are having injured avali’s coming up, some of them badly injured.” The voice said. Celina responded. “Try your best to keep them alive and take care of them.” She says, before checking the ship status.

FTL drive was down, the haul also took a hit cause. She tried to contact the people taking care of the drive.
“Maintenance group for the FTL, please respond!” she then said. What she heard next was just static… and a voice coming in. “C… captain… FTL had a meltdown… we attempted to stop it but…” the voice said. Hearing the voice, the sound of a dying person… “Hang in there! The medical teams are coming” she said before going to call the medical team to go and head to take care of that person. She frowned, looking at the damage of the ship. One thing for sure, this ship was not going to get up in the sky anytime soon. As avali’s moved around the ship, more information came to. First off, they lost 9 avali in the crash, 4 dead and 5 missing. Second off, they landed on an unknown planet with the sensors unable to detect much except some strange energy in the air as well as nature around the place. Third off, that they were not the only ones landing here in a crash. What was this… a graveyard for shipwrecks or something? One thing for sure, this was not normal considering all the explosions and the smoke all around.

“Any able avali’s that are available come to the main deck.” Celina then said, One thing for sure.. Those 4 brave souls that died will be missed. This is going to be hard on the crew. Geez it was really hard on her also. She cared about her crew right now. A small tear formed around her eye right now but she quickly cleaned it up. She had to stay strong here, for everyone else’s sake. Then there was the 5 missing that was questionable.. What happen to them? Where did they go… that was what she was worried about… 3 avali’s came in front of her. “What can we do captain?” one of them said, although Celina could see that the person in front of her was not in the best mood. Who could blame them with what just happened here.

“Crew… we landed on a new planet… one with strange readings… and we have 5 of our people that are missing. I am afraid they might have ended up launched out of the ship possibly. So because of this, I say we go and try to go find them and hope for all that is good that they are safe and sound. “She said. The crew nodded before getting their equipment, one of them getting a blade that seem to be made out of orange glass for the blade with a shield, one of them bringing an assault rifle and another actually bringing a shotgun. They then went out, Celina going with them for this, staying with communication to the ship. With any luck, maybe they could find survivors… or others that ended up in the same situation as them, although she hoped that if they do find other people.. They won’t just shoot them or attack them on sight here. The small crew then walked out, armed and ready and went to explore and possibly find those people, aiming to look around the parameter of the ship, aiming to look more from the back and front of the ship for this, considering the chances of those people being launched out of the ship by all that force by some backup procedure on those pods… she just hoped they would not end up seeing a an dead avali in a pod, attacked and eaten by one of the creatures here.

A New Adventure

The sounds of rustling foliage ring out through the Everfree forest along with the chorus of other sounds that the creatures of the night make. The faint light of dancing lights illuminate the area around one local inhabitant of this area, following him and lighting the way. Even with this illumination, the creature obviously trips and fumbles every once in a while along with a chanting of swear words to pierce the sounds of the forest. After finding a clearing in this forest, the tired pony takes a seat on a fallen log, taking out his canteen and taking a long swig from it, catching his breath from all the walking he has done so far tonight. Whipping out a map from a side pocket of his saddlebag, he floats one of the lights over to him to take a look at the area, trying to map out the path within the forest.

This large male pony was trying to find his way through the dark and mysterious forest, obviously out of his element as it were. As the light of his magic illuminates his face, you can see the image of a young face, partially covered in mud from a previous fall onto the forest floor below. "I'm not a trooper, I'm a caster. I shouldn't be dragging myself through the muck to find what ever it is they want me to find." A frustrated face stares at a map of the area, trying to orientate himself in the thick forest, which is harder than it looks for a book worm such as himself. All he knows from his guild members is that there was some sort of anomaly deep within the confines of the Everfree forest and since this pony was the only one that wasn't on a mission currently, he was drafted to take on this assignment. The briefing he was given was that a strange object fell from the sky and crash landed deep within the forest and that local reports was that there was a fire that was going on. He knew that the spirits of the forest and the druids that inhabit it would probably take care of the fire. His mission was to investigate the crash site and retrieve any and all useful items from said site, documenting everything that he has heard or saw in the process. The pony was pretty good at note taking and observation, but even with his time training in the military, he was usually relegated to spell work and minor diplomacy missions.

Determined to prove his worth at the adventuring guild, this freshly minted adventure put on a brave face, folding up his map with care. All this pony knows is that there is something out there, an adventure waiting for him, deep within this unforgiving forest that he was trucking through. Whipping the little bit of mud off of his face, he braced himself for what ever was causing trouble deep in this foreboding woods.

The White Company

The mercenaries were doing a number on this beast. Overwhelming firepower tended to do that. Despite telling the kid to stay out of the fight, he still joined in. Even managing to do some damage to the beast. " How the Pillars did that kid manage to make a tornado?" Ghalo asked through the squads comm system. "Unknown, but he did say something about alternate universe. We'll need to question him more once this is over." Linass said over the gunfire.

As the group continued their onslaught, they were suddenly interrupted by a small winged quadruped, who started talking to them. Though they didn't understand a single word it said. Had a pretty musical language though. Then it pointed towards the vines that had started to get on the ship. Though the plants wouldn't be able to move the ship due to its massive weight. Elijah didn't want any damn plant covering his beautiful ship. " Ghalo! Throw your last inferno grenade towards the ship. Hit those damn vines. I do not want any of them covering the ship. Damn plants remind me of Pragia with its damn plants. Remember that mission Jorgal?" The veteran mercenary said with a small grin. HA! That planet was fun. Those slavers only added to the fun too." Jorgal gave a hearty laugh. Elijah paused for a moment. Watching as the tornado suddenly took on a flames. The wooden beast gave a loud bellow of pain as more fire engulfed it. More flames started to spread across the landscape burning away everything that the forest had sent at them.

A sudden thunderbolt landed on the beast, effectively destroying it. Pieces of wood and stone were sent across the landscape. Luckily thanks to their armor and kinetic shields nothing managed to hurt them. Though Elijah did notice from his HUD that the temperature in the area spiked by several degrees. Though it wouldn't affect his group, the kid might get a little burnt because of having nothing to protect. But frankly Elijah didn't care. His priorities were to himself and his people and that little shit of a kid wasn't one of his people. Taking a look around, Elijah noticed that all his people were unharmed and that a glowing piece of wood was near his ship. " Hmm must be the heart of the creature. Don't know why it shows no signs of damage. Lets get a quick scan of this." Elijah said turning his omni-tool to scan. One quick scan done, the only thing that was odd was that the scan showed some unknown type of energy coming from the core, though the beast was dead, Elijah didn't want to take any chances with it, he'd already seen the dead ones get back up after being killed with gunfire. Turning his omni-tool back off. Elijah took a few steps back, a blue glow started to surround his hands lifting the alien core with his biotics Elijah used a very simple biotic attack called throw. The alien heart was launched towards the canyon. Eventually falling towards the bottom canyon.

With his squad now gathered around him. "Since they initiated contact first. Lets see if we can get some dialogue from them." Elijah said. Thanks to his advanced armor systems. Elijah was able to use a zoom function to see the flying quadrupeds. There appeared to be three? "They obviously can see use. Probably don't think we can see them though since they appear to be smaller than use. Kid if these aliens come down let us do the talking. We might be able to get a translator working and initiate some dialogue." Elijah said turning to Escotto. Raising his arm in the arm. Elijah shot a incinerate into the air. Not close enough to hit the aliens. But not to far away. After firing the shot Elijah started waving his arms trying to get the alien's attention.

Escotto's Equestrian Adventure

Part 3: Timber Wolf 2: Electric Boogaloo!

@RangingWolf

Escotto's charge skid to a stop at the lightning bolt, before he backsprang away from the blast. His acrobatics managed to keep him from being crushed, thankfully. When he stopped, a Pegasus of all things stopped. Unfortunately, Equine was not in Escotto's vocabulary, but he noticed the Mercs' ship about to become dinner for some very pissed off vines. Apparently a grenade dealt with that madness. Escotto's attention was taken by a second explosion, which sent a heat wave right for the lot.

Of course, the wave was simply to movement of super-heated air. Thus,

"Fēngshuǐ zhī nù!"

With a sharp exhale and a palm thrust, a palm-shaped wall smacked against and halted the portion of the wave headed for them. Anything else was not so lucky. Once it was all said and done, Escotto gave his branch a twirl, before blowing the leaves like a smoking gun. "Yeah, bitch!" He sighed... To no one in particular.

Then there was the matter of the big glowing rock. Escotto could already hear Ned and Rede fusing over the thing

We absolutely MUST study the properties of this mineral!
Ned

Are you kiddin'?! Do you have ANY idea how much we get for that?!
Redemoinho

And then Elijah used his weird Dark Energy powers to pick it up and chuck into a canyon.

"Aw, c'mon!"

Then Escotto's missing switchblade landed right next to him. However, it was still how from the explosion. So, it needed to be picked up through Escotto's hoody.

"Kid if these aliens come down let us do the talking. We might be able to get a translator working and initiate some dialogue."
Elijah

Escotto Saluted, spouting "Aye, aye, Capitan!" Hopefully he could get a good look at what else these "Omni-tools" could do.
