A @smarty0114 & @Silent Observer collab
Featuring: Jamie Callaghan & Marshall Radley
Location: Radley Home

Jamie Callaghan had fucked up. He was aware. He had let school politics interfere with his life. He’d been stupid and he’d fucked up. Above all of that though, he knew that if he let this tear him and Marshall apart he’d regret it. So, here he was, seated in his car in front of the Radley’s less than humble abode. In his passenger seat were a bouquet of purple hyacinth, because roses were cliche, and Jamie had no clue what Marshall’s favorite flower really was.

Taking a deep breath, Jamie stepped out of his car and walked up to the Radley’s front door and rapped his knuckles three times against the dark wood door. After a moment, Martelle Radley opened the door, clad in a black tank top and holding a cereal bowl in her left hand. “I was wondering when I’d see you,” she said, smirking at Jamie as she took a bite of mint-chocolate chip ice cream.

“Hey Marty, can I, uh, talk to Marshall?” Jamie asked, chewing his lip in anticipation of her answer. He hoped he’d been right about surprising Marshall like this. If he’d been wrong...well he didn’t want to think about where else they could go from here. All he knew was that it wasn’t good.

Marty grinned at Jamie’s request, and stepped aside, waving Jamie in with a flourish. “He’s upstairs, first door on the left,” she said, giving Jamie an encouraging smile. “Good luck, you’re gonna need it.”

With that ominous warning hanging over him, Jamie steadily climbed the stairs, and calmly walked to Marshall’s door, where he knocked twice, and waited, prayed, for Marshall to answer.

Behind that closed door, Marshall was doing what a Marshall does in the very few hours of free time he has. After days filled with drama club, yearbook and dance committees, vocal lessons, dance, and schoolwork, it is nice to come home and unwind. Despite being quite the social butterfly during all of these activities, Marshall tends to keep his door closed at home during these recharge sessions. Presently, he was relaxing in a gray chaise lounge, one hand propping open his current novel of choice and the other hand holding a mug of steaming tea while soft acoustic music played through his Assistant set up in the room.

When there was a knock on his door, Marshall didn’t even look up from his book before responding, “Come in…” Assuming that it was just his sister. Maybe she had a snack, that would be a divine addition to this moment of peace he was enjoying.

With one, shaky, deep breath, Jamie stepped through the door, and into Marshall’s room, holding the flowers out in front of him like some form of protection. “It occurred to me, while I was lying in bed this afternoon, that I had a very exciting date to look forward to, and also an apology to give,” Jamie said, smiling nervously down at Marshall before extending his hand out to offer him the flowers. “These are for both.”

Distinctly not Martelle. Marshall looked up from his reading and immediately closed the book and held the cover flush against his chest, as if he had something to hide. He blinked as he stared at the unexpected person in the doorway of his bedroom. Alarm bells sounded in the back of his mind… Jamie was here, in his room, he was not prepared, is it clean enough, did he look cute enough, panic! Despite the alarms, Marshall kept his facial expression cool. “Nathan, we’re talking.” He said, and his Assistant lowered the music volume to ambient background noise at his pre-programmed command. Nathan heard that one quite frequently.

Marshall sat up a little straighter, putting his book cover-side down on the table next to his chaise lounge, beside the mug of tea that read “Drama Queen” with a sparkly pink crown — a birthday gift from Ophelia in years passed. He took in the site of Jamie, looking dashingly dressed and slightly hidden behind a bouquet of purple flowers. “How did you—” Marshall began to ask, before answering his own question. “Marty.” Moving over on the lounge, Marsh put his feet to the floor and patted the spot next to him, beckoning Jamie over.

Jamie smiled, and took Marshall’s invitation to sit. Grinning, he looked over at Marshall, and sighed, before launching into the speech he’d rehearsed in the car. “Look, we are very, very different people, and we have very different friends. And you and I both know, our school can get...messy. That said, just because you and I are in the center of it, doesn’t me youandI, have to be at the center of it. I don’t want our relationship to hinge on what happens at school. So, can we just agree, to keep politics in the hallways?”

“Our relationship?” Marshall inquired with a raised brow. It was the phrase that stuck out the most in Jamie’s sudden word vomit of an apology. Perhaps he didn’t mean it like that, or he was just getting ahead of himself, but that was a conversation that they had yet to have. Letting the rest of Jamie’s word sit in his mind before responding, Marshall gently took the flowers from his date’s hand. He sniffed them and then let out a small laugh as he appraised the bouquet, “This is a first…”

Jamie smiled. “And hopefully not the last,” he said, placing his hand on top of Marshall’s and squeezing gently. “So, can we go on our date now? I have a reservation at a very nice restaurant that I would hate to see go to waste.”

“I meant the flowers. No one’s ever brought me flowers before, unless it was after a show.” Marshall set them down on the table gently. Before they went anywhere, Marsh had something to say first. “Politics in the hallways, I can get behind that. But, no more writing about me or my friends without talking to me first, okay? I don’t want to stand in the way of your passion, but I also don’t want to be surprised by being pounced on by nosey underclassmen fishing for details about my personal life…” In Marshall’s mind, that seemed like a fair enough request. He then sighed and looked down at his lap, “But… I’m also sorry. I shouldn’t have implied that you don’t have friends, I felt really gross after. Despite the recent revelations about the people I associate with, I don’t take pleasure in being mean. I was just… hurting.”

At that, Marshall stood up and smoothed his shirt down. He was dressed nicely in a pair of gray dress pants and lavender cashmere sweater with a white collared shirt underneath and the sleeves rolled up to quarter length. It was the outfit he had originally planned to wear for their date, and he had put it on after school wishfully thinking that he might still have a date. Some wishes do come true, it seems. “How nice of a restaurant, exactly? Because I can up the bougie if I need to. I feel like you look way better.” That wasn’t too much of a surprise. Jamie always dressed well, Marshall wasn’t sure if it was his own fashion sense, or all of the shopping trips with Selena, but whatever it was definitely worked for him.

Jamie smiled a leaned in to plant a kiss on Marshall’s lips. “Mr. Radley, tonight we are going full bougie.”

Collab with @Hey Im Jordan
Post focuses on a particular prick @smarty0114
Flashback to Thursday late afternoon.

As editor-in-chief of the Black and Orange, finding out about its great success today was inevitable for Beatrix Kingsley. Trixie, a girl who cares about upholding a confident, self assured school presence, even if right now her image is very much tainted, made it an absolute to go to school for the rest of the week. And to that decision, she fucking regretted it. The moment she walked onto campus, she could smell the gossip running through the halls and like the fox that she was, the paper found her hands and she was able to read Jamie’s newest article. His most successful yet and completely driven by… her life.

All eyes were on her and their whispers were a constant. Non stop. All day. Talking about HOT being dead, Trixie being a dumbass for believing in lies, and everyone feeling sorry for Owen. Was it smart for her to go to school? Probably not. But, Trixie had to go. She wasn’t going to hide away anymore. If Riley could strut his stuff after saying FUCK YOU to the whole school, so can she! If only she could find her… greatest apprentice… who ruined any chance she had to mend things with Owen!

Why did she ask for Jamie’s help again?!

Oh, that’s right.

She was desperate.

“Fuck me!”

Pacing back and forth in the office of the gym, Trixie tried to figure out an explanation for this. An explanation to why their situation, her’s and Owen’s, was basically the headliner of today’s paper, even if it wasn’t on the first page. They were doing so good too! She had just gotten Owen back and now she had to confess it was her fault Jamie even had the idea for the story. It was her fault he could even publish the story. It was her fault… because she gave him permission! Maybe she should text Ophelia and be like: the way you can make up to me is by planning my funeral.

No, this wasn’t going to get that bad. He wasn’t going to break up with her… was he? Oh god, she was a natural disaster and nothing she did was ever right. Trixie collapsed on the futon, burying her head in the pillow, silently screaming. Fuck up after fuck up. Was she ever going to redeem herself?!

Jut outside the office, voices could be heard. One of them belonged to a new face at the gym. “Did I… do okay? Dude you seem pretty salty. HEY, don’t look at me like that! I’m just a messenger, I swear. I thought you’d wanna see it! It had your name in it, and… stuff.” The voice belonged to non other than Zach Webb, local boy crushing on Sam Lassiter, also known as ‘young grasshopper’ to Owen.

The response came from Owen, who sounded irate — but at least not ballistic. “It’s not you. You did good, kid. I’ll come get you tomorrow, alright? As for Jamie… well, let’s just say that I’m gonna get him. I will hit that fucking slimey, rotten, no good, nasty motherfucker so hard his fuckin’ children are gonna be born bruised. Fuck that guy. I want one thing in life, I want some goddamn fuckin’ privacy. But, I can’t have that, because SOMEONE —” His voice was intentionally raised, “— likes to hire nosey little PRICKS to writer articles for the newspaper. Sure would be a shame if I were to see said someone when I opened the door.” Owen said, though before he could respond, Zach was quick to speak up.

“Is… that… Tank Girl? Wait, don’t answer that. I know, I know. No references. But still, dude! Jamie is gay, you know he’s gay, right? Gay people can’ have kids! They’re… gay! I guess… I’ll see you tomorrow.” With that last statement, Zach could be heard stepping away from the door…

...and Owen threw it open. “Trixie! What the fuck!?”

Eep! Snapping herself up from the pillow, resting on her knees on the bed, Trixie met Owen’s gaze nervously. The anxiety in her was crawling up her petite body and getting stuck in her throat. Rather than respond immediately, she played with her hair that flowed over her right shoulder. After sucking her bottom lip, she still did not know what to say, but if she didn’t say anything, he’d get ten times worse. she timidly asked, “...hi, Owen. How was your day?” Heh. She was trying, okay!

“Oh, y’know. It was just fine. I woke up, I worked out with the kid. I took the kid to school. I picked the kid up from school after, because I told him I would and y’know, I’m just a great guy. Right? Kid comes up to me, says he wants to learn to fight so he can make Sam love him, so I agree. Good job Owen. BUT, Kid gets in the Lambo, hands me the newspaper and says I’m mentioned in it. So we get here. And he reads it to me. And I know you know what’s in the article. And I’m just wondering, why you let this happen? I want one thing in life. To be left alone, and afforded some privacy. Is that so much to ask? Can you not keep your fucking scumbag pet on a short enough leash? You know what I gotta do now right? Gotta stop talkin’ to Marshall, for starters. And then? I gotta kill Jamie. Dammit, Trixie. Get the strap. Where’s he live?” Owen blew at his bangs, and leaned against the doorway. In fairness to Owen, he was being quite calm, moreso than he had been in the past. On the other hand… he was talking about killing someone like it was the same as taking someone out to eat.

“He lives…” Trixie could feel the waterworks coming, but she kept them in. She jumped up off the chair and pleadingly apologized, “IT’S ALL MY FAULT, I’M SORRY!” Her hands were now tugging at her hair, to the point that she was picking some of it out from pure fear.

“Oh, quit being a baby. I’m not gonna kill him, you can’t kill gays anymore. Everyone says it’s a hate crime.” Owen shook his head and stepped forward, grabbing Trixe’s hand and prying them off of her hair, and instead slipped their fingers together, so their palms were touching, before he leaned forward and kissed her forehead. “I like your hair, don’t pull it out.” Owen said, lifting his hands up above her head, bringing her arms up with him, “now, if he was straight? Then I might have to roll on him.” He kissed her again.

“Just fucking with you. I really do need something from you, though.”

“What is it?” How did things change so drastically? She didn’t even explain how the idea was entirely hers because she wanted to get to the bottom of the break up. He couldn’t have possibly found out about the deal she and Jamie made… or could he? Perplexed, Trixie, with wide eyes, looked up at her boyfriend. Was she really not dead yet?

“I need his mother’s phone number.”

Owen smiled, swinging their arms up and down as he gazed into her eyes. “Some people don’t understand that what they’re doing is fundamentally wrong, so you can’t just pound sense into them. I pounded sense into you — ha. Sometimes, you just gotta tell someone’s mom.” He said, before he shrugged and dropped her hands, walking over to the couch and flopping down on his rear, and shrugging. “I don’t know if you know this, but Jamie came here the other day. To try and get me to talk about my side of the story. I declined. He pushed. I pushed. He left with a sore face. Now, I know that no one on that newspaper does anything without your say so, but we’ll get to you later. One issue at a time.”

Oh.

Yeah, that made sense. He simply put two and two together. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know that she led the charge of the newspaper club. Going to Jamie’s mother was actually an exceptionally rational solution to the issue. No violence. Simply getting the person who bled for the boy involved. A mother would be disappointed at an article like that. Trixie already knew once she told her own mother about everything, like the Cowardly Lyon, her mother would give her a earfold. When was her parents arriving to Beverly Hills anyways? She still hasn’t seen them and she thought they were flying last night… “Okay… here.” Trixie scrolled through her phone and brought up The Callaghans’ house number. Since she was a club administrator, for multiple clubs, she had all the numbers of her members’ ‘emergency contacts’. Just in case. She shuffled her way to Owen and handed him her phone.

Owen took the phone, before pulling out his own and adding the number in. Then, he held it back out to Trixie, and let out a long, winded breath. “Now, I’m gonna go see if I can handle this nonviolently. For you. And you, young lady, are going to go sit at home and think about what you’ve done.” Owen wagged his finger at Trixie, “and Daddy will pick you up tomorrow night when he’s ready.” With that Owen stood up and looked around the office, before he frowned. “That fucking kid took my Gatorade with him. Is there anything to drink in the office fridge?” All in all, Trixie got off easy; in a shocking turn of events, Owen seemed to have a more or less strong hold on his emotions and his typically short temper. For the most part, Trixie had eaten all of his aggression over the past few days in the bedroom.

“...there’s beer but you don’t drink… um...” Without hesitation, Trixie hurriedly went to the fridge and opened it, checking to see what else was in it. Beer, beer, beer… “There’s ginger ale!” Wait, wouldn’t that mean someone got sick if there was ginger ale? If she wasn’t mistaken, Owen practically lived here during the era of them not being together. When did he get sick?

“Just forget about it.” Owen said, waving his hand. Why did they have beer? His fucking dad probably did it, that rat bastard. Move back into the house for one week, and Dad thinks the gym is his playground again. Owen stood up and walked over to Trixie, shutting the fridge, “come on. Let’s go get Chinese food, and go to your house and watch K-Pop music videos.”

“W-what about Jamie’s mom?” Trixie unbent her body and gazed at Owen, still very much confused. “I thought you were going to take care of that and then punish me?”

“I’m gonna take care of it probably after I eat? I’m hungry and I had to listen to Zach… you know, exist. He talks a lot. You wanna get punished, huh? You got enough of that the last couple of days. You’re literally grounded, Trix. You can go to school tomorrow, and then you can go right back to your room and you can sit and stare at the ceiling all day.”

“But Daddyyyyy.” Trixie whined, actually okay with her sentence. This was so mild compared to what he could do to her.

“I can’t believe you want me to call another woman so badly.” Owen gestured for her to follow, and started heading toward the door with a shake of his head. “Did you really think I was gonna shoot Jamie in the face?”

“Uh, duh. When do you not want to shoot him in the face?” Trixie needily rushed to his side, grabbing ahold of his hand.

“When I’m rational and not acting on heat of passion.” Owen shrugged, locking their fingers together, “he’s not worth the jail time. I’m just going to go out of my way, to never speak to him or acknowledge him again, so long as I live. I have my mother’s blood. I can be the most petty person in existence.” He led her out of the gym and toward the parking lot. As they walked together, he glanced over at the girl that was holding his hand, and smiled. It was suffice to say that Owen was content, something that he hadn’t been for a while. He pulled her a bit closer, and dropped her hand to instead wrap his arm around her shoulder.

“I love you.”

“...I love you too, Kitty.” They had only recently got back together, day 2 now, and yet she still couldn’t believe this was her reality. Gliding her hands up his chest, she grabbed his face and tenderly smiled, “I really do and I will do whatever I have to, to make things right.” She pushed her lips up against his, letting it linger before nipping at it. Whatttt? They had a lot of loss time to make up for! She missed this. She missed him.

“If you ask me? So far so good. Maybe we should get Chinese delivered, so we have more time in your room with the door closed.” Owen was like an insatiable animal, but really? It only took one look at Beatrix Kingsley to understand why. “Either way… I’m hungry. Point still stands. By the way, your being grounded gets me out of going to the movie night thing at Captain Cuddles, completely guilt free.” What? He had to be sure. Trixie was a manipulator — he was already pretty sure she’d find a hole in his words and worm the punishment to her advantage somehow, but that was okay. Part of why he loved her, even.

Raising an eyebrow, Trixie inquired, “So what are you going to be doing then? If I’m grounded, you’re obviously not going to be doing me!” The latina didn’t mind staying in. Just because she couldn’t go out, didn’t mean she couldn’t plan something. She already knew what she wanted to do, but Owen being there would make things weird, since she had a lot to cover tomorrow night with a special someone. “You need to get out. You haven’t had a good night with friends in a long time. Owen Lyon is not someone that hides away. Go have fun!” She innocently gleamed up at him. “I’d love Chinese, by the way!” And something else. She looked down at his package, playfully.

“I am gonna have fun. Sam and me and the young grasshopper are gonna hang out here. Sam and I are gonna mess around, and the kid’s gonna work out. It should be fun. Chinese it is.”

A Collaboration Between: @Bee and @Silent Observer
Featuring: Yung Steve and Valerie Owen

Yung Steve was as nervous as ever.

But why was he nervous? It wasn’t like he was new to this sort of thing. But yet, his nerves were being demolished as he stood backstage. Tonight was a rap night, which was right up Yung Steve’s alley. The only problem was, every single beat was predefined and he didn’t know which one he would get. He could have one beat in mind that he was planning his freestyle to, but then they could switch the beat up on him at any time and completely ruin his focus.

It helped to have something in mind, but they weren’t allowing him that today. They weren’t allowing anyone that today. These people didn’t know how these rap fests worked! It was pissing Yung Steve off, but at the same time he couldn’t just pull out. There was surprisingly a large crowd out tonight. This was the biggest opportunity he had so far. He held his head down low, getting in the zone to make his debut for the night. The beat had stopped, and the rapper ahead of him had finished his freestyle. Based on how the crowd was reacting, the prospective rapper had a lot to live up to.

”Aaaand up next, we have Yuuunnnnnnnnnng Steve!!!!”

That was his cue. He stood up off of the cart he was using as a chair and made his way outside to the stage. The crowd had a lot of energy in it tonight, which was great. It was something he could definitely feed off of. Raising his arms, he tried to get the crowd to cheer louder for him, and it was working alright. He put the mic up to his mouth, wanting to give himself a little more hype before he’d go freestyle.

”How’s everyone doing tonight?”

The crowd responded uproariously, but none were as passionate in their cheers as Yung Steve’s super-secret-super-fan, Valerie Owens. There were a number of students in the audience at The Underground tonight, and many of them were here to support BHHS’ national rapping treasure. For some, the treasure was that Yung Steve was a meme, but that wasn’t true for all. “WOO!!!” As Val’s cheer fell silent along with the rest of the room, she bashfully pulled her hand down from it’s position up in the air and tucked a straightened lock of hair behind her ear. Sitting front and center, she anxiously awaited his performance.

Yung Steve took a deep breath, as the crowd quiet down and silence had fallen onto the crowd like a blanket. The beat came on and started to rumble the entire stage, and Yung Steve took a couple of hops to get his energy ready. Taking a deep breath, he put the microphone up to his mouth

”Uh yeah, yeah I’m Yung Steve.
Can you really believe?
It doesn’t feel like a relief
Yuh… call that Red Cross
I am such a fed boss (0:18)

Yeah I’m swimming in the hot sauce
Miss me with that caught loss
I’m like the Pope
I’m spitting all this dope
Put me underneath a microscope

Execution so sick, I don’t really have a huge dick
Perfection is like arithmetic, I don’t get to pick
Election, flow so electric I got the crowd standing and feeling absolutely ecstatic (0:31)

Objection, your honor.
Rejection, you a goner!
Absolutely tedious I feel absolutely delirious.
Rap so furious, it is not very mysterious.
Yuh, I got a old feeling that got me reeling
I feel so bold dealing, rotting me and it’s peeling. (0:40)

Sanitize me
Crunchatize me, Captain!

Captain Crunch, yuh.
There’s a big ol’ bunch
Not a pig for lunch
I feast, you dig on a hunch? (0:50)

Mission Impossible like Tom Cruise, dodging all these lasers
I can hear it like audible, sailing around in all this booze, edge so sharp you can call it a razor
It isn’t terrible but it ain’t a ruse, but don’t go calling your neighbors (1:00)

Valerie bobbed her and clapped softly in time with the beat. She was practically dancing in her seat and, despite what some might call poor taste rappers, the girl had rhythm. Her daddy taught her how to match a beat with her body, and hip-hop classes at INITIATE built upon her natural talents. It might be a spectacle to be going all out to a amateur freestyle rap, but Val was living her best life, no shame.

”Back to back I got this rack
It ain’t like the crack, I’m just saying the facts.
I got it right here don’t need a fax machine
Thinking otherwise like you drinking a bottle of chlorine (1:10)

And I’m feeling so good unlike some other people from the hood-

Uh yeah, Family Matters, Steve Urkel (1:45)

We comin around full circle
It’s hot in here, feeling thermal
Shoutout to my fans
For keeping me cool. (2:00)

With that, Yung Steve dropped the mic and walked off, as the track ended and faded out. Damn… he hadn’t put out fire like that in a long time.

The crowd popped after Yung Steve started ramping up his speed. The applause continued following the mic drop, some people even stood up and fist pumped. Among those excited people was, of course, Val. “Wow, he really killed it!” Valerie said excitedly to the stranger on her right as she sat back down. They nodded and said it was the best they’d ever heard from Yung Steve. Val couldn’t agree more as she patiently waited for the other performers to take the stage. After all was said and done, maybe tonight would finally be the night that she got the courage to introduce herself!

Yung Steve was out of breath. He was reeling from the adrenaline that he had accumulated from the performance. Never had he rapped like that in his life, and based on how wild the crowd was, it was definitely something the crowd liked. He was given celebratory high fives and daps as he made his way backstage. He needed time to wind down and let his heart rate settle. He hadn’t felt this energetic in such a long time.

Eventually the show winded down, and certain people were able to mingle with the rappers if they wanted to. Yung Steve was laying back on the couch, nursing a water bottle as he was still trying to regain his composure. God, he had never felt this good before.

After smoothing down her hair for what seemed like the hundredth time, Valerie stood up out of her seat. She straightened out her clothes, adjusted her purse strap, rolled back her shoulders, and held her head high and confident. Once she had properly composed herself, she strided over to the mingling area. She smiled warmly and a few of the rappers she passed by, complimenting their performance, all the while making her way to one specific performer. Yung Steve was lounging on a couch, his cheeks flushed a cute shade of red, probably from the rush of the stage. “Hey,” she greeted, and perhaps overly formally, she extended a hand for him to shake. “I’m Valerie. You killed it tonight.”

Yung Steve was spaced out up until someone had come up to him. He was caught by surprise and nearly choked on his water before he got a sight of the girl who had come up to him. Looking up at her… he was stunned. Wow, she was beautiful. Yung Steve was flustered. He didn’t have anything to say to her other than the most awkward smile known to man.

”T-Thank you... it’s nice to meet you, Valerie. I’m Yung Steve.” He smiled, before shifting his weight forward so that he could get off the seat. ”I’m glad you liked it though… I haven’t ever rapped like that, honestly.”

“Yeah, I know!” Val replied excitedly, but promptly realized that her words could be misinterpreted as rude. Growing equally as flustered as Steve was, she giggled. “I mean, I’ve followed your work. We go to the same school, you know? But tonight has your best stuff, hands down. Shit was fire, and during a freestyle, no less!” She shamelessly gushed like some fangirl.

Yung Steve was caught off guard by this girl’s rather fanatic nature. She… followed his work? Well that was something he wasn’t expecting to see. That was a surprise, but a welcome one for sure. ”O-Oh thank you. I didn’t know you followed my work. That’s pretty cool. I’m glad to meet an actual fan, y’know? Not too many of you out there yet.” Yung Steve smiled, before taking another sip of his water bottle. ”Do you want to sit down? I’m sure you must be a little tired.”

“Oh, sure, thank you!” Valerie smiled and gracefully took a seat on the couch, leaving more than enough room for the Lord between them. Truly, she almost sat an uncomfortable distance from him, sheerly out of nerves. “I think you have more fans than you realize, though, you heard them out there tonight. You’re one of the most well-known rappers BHHS has. The crowd was full of students.” Valerie sipped at the Sprite she had gotten from the bar towards the end of the night’s performances. “I’m not really that tired, I’m sure you are, though! I don’t know how you guys keep it all straight on stage like that. With the speed, and the lights, and the whole crowd watching you… I’d be a total mess!” She giggled again and then cleared her throat. “What’s it like?”

Watching her sit down, Yung Steve couldn’t but to smile. God this girl was so cute. She had an energy about her that couldn’t be matched. Her voice was also very nice to listen to, which made him even more eager to see what she had to say. He was happier than ever after his performance, but this Valerie girl sure was making things a lot better than they were, and that was hard to do considering the night Yung Steve was having. Just listening to her talk made him smile and filled him up with warmth and happiness that was comparable to drinking some tea.

”What is it like? Well.. it’s really nerve wracking… but it’s a lot of fun, y’know? Usually I have these pre-planned but today it was just off the top of my head. I’m glad you liked it though. It means a lot to me, really.” Yung Steve shrugged, before gesturing to her Sprite can. ”Do you want me to sign that? Maybe give ya a little memoir for the night?”

At that, Valerie giggled again. Going along with it for fun, she handed him the can. “Sure, that’ll make for a fun story to tell at parties when you make it big, right? ‘Yung Steve and I went to high school together, I totally got him to sign my Sprite can!’” She laughed lightly before getting distracted by a buzzing in her purse. Val pulled out her phone to check the notification while Steve gave his autograph.

Yung Steve took a sharpie nearby, before finding an empty spot to sign so that the graphic on the can wouldn’t interrupt the autograph. Locating the spot, he scribbled his obviously very practiced signature and handed it back to the girl. ”Don’t sell it on eBay.” He joked, chuckling a bit. It was a lame joke, but he had a feeling she’d laugh anyway.

She did. Looking up from her phone, she smiled and took the can back, nodding approvingly at the signature. “Only if doesn’t hit six figures in value, deal?” Val gestured with her phone. “Thanks for chatting, it was really nice to meet you, but my ride is here to pick me up. I’ll see you around?” She asked hopefully. Perhaps a little too hopefully.

Yung Steve held up a hand to salute the girl who had taken the time to talk to him.

”I’ll see ya around.”

A @smarty0114 & @Bee collab
Featuring: Lawrence Townsend & Becca Helmsley
Location: The Macintosh

The days after the party had been a blur for Becca. Between soccer tryouts and Jamie Callaghans article about Hailey, her days had been busy indeed. That’s why, when Ivy had come to her with the idea of a blind date, she’d been more than happy to agree. She needed some relief after this week, and she wasn’t about to go watch Star Wars while her brother paraded Parker around to the whole school. That was one relationship she’d never wrap her head around, but hey, if her brother was happy, she wouldn’t judge.

As Becca went about her spacious room, getting ready for her mystery man, she couldn’t help but think of another mystery man. The boy from the party, he’d been...excellent. It was rare she found someone who lived up to her standards, but he had and she dared to say, she missed him. “God, Becca what is happening to you? First Henry, now some rando from a party? You need to find somewhere to put these feelings before they bite you in the ass,” Becca muttered to her reflection as she applied her makeup.

An hour later, Becca was standing outside The Macintosh, a high end restaurant where she had told Ivy she’d meet her date. Becca didn’t do anything that wasn’t on her own terms, everybody knew that. Draped in a red, satin dress, Becca scanned the crowd, until her eyes fell on the last person she expected to see. “Well, well, well, now this is a surprise.”

It had felt like months, despite it being only days. Nobody but a select few knew what truly happened behind the scenes, but it was as good of a time as any other to make his return, back to where he really belonged. Despite the rumors and sayings about his status, he was going to prove them all wrong. What you thought about this boy was going to be shattered today.

Lawrence Townsend had stepped out of the Uber which had taken him to his date for the night. He was a bit nervous, but it was nothing he hadn’t dealt with before. Years of football experience had prepared him for moments like this… but at the same time he still felt as unprepared as most would.

He had a plan he wanted to carry out, he had a plan as to how he wanted to approach this date. It was better to break everything down methodically. That way, he knew what to do whenever certain things happened. As he got closer to the entrance of the restaurant, he could eye a radiant woman standing right outside.

Becca. The girl who had somehow agreed to go on a date with him. It was something that had been in the making for a while now, but Lawrence was more than glad that it was actually happening at this point. As soon as he got closer and got a better view of her, it was like he was punched in the face. All his plans went out of the window as he laid his eyes on what was probably the most radiant woman at this place.

”I could say the same for you… god, you look great.”

A small, coy smile crept up Becca’s face as Lawrence complimented her. So, it was him, Ivy had set her up with. Well, Ivy surely didn’t disappoint. When she’d told her that the mystery man went to BHHS, she’d been a bit worried it would be someone like Riley Wells or some other whackjob. Lawrence Townsend however, was much more to her liking.

“Well, shall we?” Becca asked, smirking and linking her arm with his, and leading him through the crowded restaurant, the noise of the customers blocking out any conversation. After a short walk through the restaurant, Becca stopped in front of a table in the back, removed from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the establishment. Here, there were only a few other couples, quietly conversing and enjoying the exceptionally expensive meal they’d paid for. Grinning at Lawrence, the raven haired heiress took a seat, and opened up her menu. “So explain this to me? You’re conspicuously absent for my arrival, and then I’m set up on a blind date with you?”

Being with Becca right now had caused butterflies to be in his stomach. He didn’t know what was with this girl, but for whatever reason his heart was pounding out of his chest as the two made their way to the very back of the restaurant. It was a good plan, considering Lawrence wasn’t exactly comfortable being on a blind date with so many people around. It was better to be up close and personal.

Sitting down, he grabbed the towel off the plate and set it down on his lap, protecting his black bespoke suit. As Becca posed the question as to why he hadn’t been around lately, he shrugged. ”I dunno what to tell you. One day I’m here another day I’m there and now I’m back here.” He laughed, before adjusting his tie. ”It’s just a lot of bullshit I don’t wanna go into.”

Lawrence was quickly running out of stuff to say. This was going to go downhill pretty fast if he didn’t think of something to say soon.

”So soccer, eh? Tell me what that’s like.”

Becca looked across the table at Lawrence, not totally unlike a lioness surveying a herd of gazelles. Becca was a hunter, trained in reading everyone around her. By now it was practically instinct. So, when Lawrence neglected to go into his whereabouts, well, of course she was going to be curious. He was nervous, but that was to be expected. He was on a date with her, of course he was nervous.

“Soccer is good. I got home just in time for tryouts. It’s...it’s a lot of fun,” Becca said. If Becca loved anything more than being in control, or sex, it was soccer. Soccer was her passion, it was her talent. She loved being out on the emerald green, dodging between girls, sliding across the grass and knocking that ever moving ball off it’s mark. It was exhilarating.

“I mean, it’s probably the same for you with football, but soccer is like, where I’m the most me! And that’s not to say I’m fake or anything, but it’s just my instinct to be out on the field, y’know?” Becca felt relaxed with Lawrence, calmer. She could be more free with what she said. He knew her, well and that came with a certain ease of conversation.

Lawrence looked at Becca with a sense of admiration as she described what it was like being on the field. He didn’t know much about soccer, nor did he really fuck with it, but listening to Becca describe it was something else. She was so full of passion and devotion to the sport that it was hard to not listen to her despite his lack of interest in the subject matter.

He got the impression that Becca was loosening up, which was great for Lawrence. Now he could feel like he could open up a bit more. ”Yeah. I feel ya. It’s like me with football and when I just run free or run over someone. There’s nothing else like it and I wouldn’t give it up for anything. It’s just… a lot of fun, y’know? It’s fun playing it… but it’s even more fun winning.” Lawrence smiled, before the waiter came by with their menus.

Thanking the waiter before he left, Lawrence opened it to peruse the menu. There was a lot of shit he couldn’t pronounce, but he didn’t want to disappoint Becca either. He was just going to have to wing it for the time being. ”Do you know what’s good here? I’ve never been here before.”

As Becca looked up and down the menu, she rattled off a list of some of her favorite items. “The lamb here is to die for, and the salmon is amazing. I looooove their foie gras too,” she said, oblivious to the fact that Lawrence was in a wee bit over his head. Becca often forgot that other people weren’t quite as loaded as she and her family were.

“I have to admit, when Ivy set me up on this date, I did not expect you. I mean, I figured, it’s been a tough week, might as well treat myself, but this...this is more than a treat,” Becca said softly, smiling over at Lawrence.

Lamb, eh? Lawrence wasn’t a big fan of lamb, but if Becca said it as good then it must’ve been true. He had settled on the rack of lamb, then. There was that. Good, he got the food out of the way so now it was back to cracking that tough shell of Becca’s. Putting the menu down, he was met by a rather flattering statement from Becca already. He inadvertently blushed.

”Well, thank you! You’re a treat.” Lawrence smiled, before the waiter came back ready to take their orders. ”Are you folks ready to make your order now?” He asked, a pen ready to write. ”Uh, yeah. I think I’ll have the lamb and an iced tea?” Lawrence requested, before looking over at Becca to see what she was going to order.

“I’ll take the salmon and a glass of your best white,” Becca said, handing the waiter her menu. Right away Ms. Helmsley,” the man said with a curt nod, before hurrying away. “Perk of being a Helmsley, is wine with any meal you want,” she explained.

Lawrence raised an eyebrow. Being a Helmsley? He was intrigued. ”Tell me more about these Helmsley perks. He said curiously, leaning forward to listen to her a little more intensely. What exactly did being a member of her family entail?

“Being a Helmsley? Well, along with all the boring galas and annoying dinner parties, you get, well the world,” Becca said, matter of factly. She wasn’t trying to brag. This was just her world. “Everybody knows me, everywhere. Here especially, but any major city in the world has a luxury hotel with a penthouse room, with my name on it. Any restaurant that’s worth a damn has a table reserved for me. I want someone to perform at my birthday party? Done. Being a Helmsley means getting whatever or whoever I want,” she said.

”Is that so? Sounds like a lot of fun.” Lawrence nodded, before trying to think of another follow-up to the conversation. Lawrence was like a fish out of water right now. He didn’t know what to say right now. Even if you pointed a gun to his head, he couldn’t name another Helmsley besides Becca. He was gonna be in some shit pretty soon. ”Now tell me, Becca, what’s the most extravagant thing you’ve ever done?”

“Well, once the whole family flew out to Paris for Fashion Week. Now, after everyone walks the runway, they all go out to a bunch of different after parties, and so that’s where my parents were. Meanwhile though, me and Brian and Baylee and like a bunch of other famous peoples kids snuck back into the venue. Abby Adams just said her mom sent her and the guards let us all in! So, we’re in and we start trying on all these clothes, I mean, stuff that’s selling for millions, and we just have this fashion show, all for ourselves. I have this picture of Brian wearing this Versace swimsuit, and it’s just hilarious!”

Giddy from her story, Becca was startled by the waiter’s sudden appearance with their food. After a moment, he left, and the conversation resumed, after Becca took a sip from her glass of wine. “What about you? Most extravagant, fun thing you’ve ever done?”

...just how rich were the Helmsleys? Paris for a week? Lawrence came from a bit of money himself… but nowhere near that level. It hurt his head just trying to comprehend how much money their family had. It dwarfed his stories of being the child of one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. As the food arrived, Becca redirected the question to him and he was at a loss for words. He didn’t have a story that could hold a candle to Becca’s extravagant story.

”Well… I guess there was this one time where my dad took us to Disneyland. The only twist was that he got some super special access so we were able to get behind the scenes and all that. We saw a head for Donald Duck and my sister, Lauren had the great idea to put on the head and walk around with it. The employees weren’t very happy about that but… my dad’s my dad so they couldn’t really ban him from it if they wanted his business.” Lawrence shrugged, before glancing down at his food. Damn, it looked good. But he wanted to make sure that Becca had the first bite before he took his.

“We come from very different lives,” Becca said, smirking a little before cutting into her salmon and taking a bite. “Since you’ve been gone, I take it you haven’t heard of the latest developments at our lovely, BHHS?” Becca asked in between bites of her food.

”...what developments?” Lawrence asked curiously, as he stabbed his lamb with a fork and tried to peel it of the bone. It was like a warm knife through butter. It was so tender and delectable, but before he could take a bite, he had to inquire further, ”...I was only gone for a week!”

“Well, thanks to one Jamie Callaghan, it’s come out that Hailey orchestrated the whole Owen and Trixie fiasco. I guess her and Ophelia got pictures of Rose and Owen, and that’s the girl from the photos. Crazy stuff, and good for everyone else. It’s looking like HOT might be dead,” Becca said, grinning wide. The recent turn of events couldn’t have worked in Becca’s favor any more than it did.

Lawrence wanted to slam his hands on the table. The recent development regarding the girls had him stirring. He knew that bitch was up to no good! ”I. Called. It.” He smirked, ”Good riddance, if you ask me. Those people are not very good people.”

Becca grinned. A man after her own heart. “I agree, wholeheartedly. Hailey will be fine, of course. She’s dating Hana Park now, which is surprising to say the least.” Becca took one last bite of her food before pushing the plate forward, signalling that she was done. As she took a sip from her glass of wine, she was hit with the realization that she was having fun. She couldn’t help but think back to the boy from the boat, and how much fun he’d been. Neither of these boys cared who her family was. They didn’t care about her father, they cared about her. That was refreshing.

”Hana… the drug dealer? Wow. Talk about an unlikely pairing.” He shrugged, before finally taking a bite of his lamb. God damn, it was so good! It was so tender and soft. He definitely had to remember this place in the future. Maybe his dad would like it a lot as well. ”It’s been a week… how has so much happened? What the hell?

“The world moves quicker than you think. A week can sometimes be a year, and many months can be...a lifetime,” Becca said, punctuating a sentence with a sip from her glass. If anyone knew about how fast things moved when you weren’t there to see them. Her and her family were visitors, everywhere. They were never one place for long it felt like.

”True that.” Lawrence knew very well just how much life could change in a week. One day your mother could be in your life the next she was pretty much as good as dead. ”So… other than soccer, what else do you do at BHHS?” Lawrence really hadn’t seen her around on campus, so he had no idea what she did.

“Traveling as much as we do, it’s hard to really get involved with anything. Soccer is hard enough, and I love to do that. I just don’t have time for anything else,” she said, shrugging. “Not that there’s really anything else I’d like to do, anyways. It’s not like I’m going to become a cheerleader or something,” she said with a giggle.

”Really? I think you’d make a cool cheerleader, but nothing is as cool as you kicking balls into goals and shit. I think that’s super dope!” Lawrence accidentally let some French slip out, but he was sure that Becca didn’t care. ”That’s how I feel about football too - American Football not soccer football… heh.”

Becca blushed, and turned her head down to her plate in an effort to hide the flush of red in her pale cheeks. After a moment she grinned across the table at Lawrence. Did she like him? This was way too early to say. Yes he was cute, very cute, but Becca Helmsley didn’t commit on anything sooner than the sixth date. That said, there was a very strong possibility of a second date.

“Well, I do my best,” she said, once she’d regained her composure. “I’d never thought of you to be the type to make girls blush. This night truly has been full of surprises,” the heiress said smoothly.

Lawrence resisted the urge to say that he knew he had that effect on girls. It was often that he got girls to blush just by staring at them, but for whatever reason making Becca blush like that was more of an accomplishment than getting Generic Gwen to smile. He was feeling good about this date. ”How’s your food so far? This lamb is freaking great!”

“My salmon is amazing! I’ll be sure to let the chef know that you liked it. He’s a family friend,” Becca replied. “Can I expect anything after this dinner?” Becca asked. She hoped the answer was a yes, she desperately hoped so. This was going far better than she’d expected.

”Depends on what you mean…” Lawrence winked, before he cleaned up the last bits of his lamb. The plate was practically clean at this point, save for the bones and a couple of green shit. He was ready for dessert. Sighing, he sat back. ”You feeling dessert? I’m feeling dessert.”

Becca threw back her head with laughter, letting out a jubilant laugh before nodding in response to Lawrence’s question. “I’m always feeling dessert,” she said, throwing in a wink of her own.

”What kinda dessert you feeling?” Lawrence inquired, putting an elbow up and leaning in closer to Becca. He didn’t know if she had the same idea of dessert, but it was worth a shot to find out.

Becca gave Lawrence a coy smile as she leaned in to meet his advance. His cologne smelt nice, expensive. Good. That was a must if this was going where she thought it was. “Well, I have this cake back at my place. It’s to die for, we brought it back from Europe, but there’s so much of it. You should come over and...try some.”

”Your place? Well… I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to that.” He smiled, taking a sip out of his tea. ”So… I’ll get the check and we’ll make our merry way on home, then?”

“Sounds like as good a plan as any,”

Flashback to Thursday night
Introducing JD's parents Lucas & Regina Piccoli

Thursday night, like most other nights for Dixon, was spent having dinner and hanging out at the Wells’. Remy, as per usual, had outdone himself with dinner. The house full of boys had eaten pot roast with enough home-grown herbs and vegetable fixings to serve an army, served over a bed of fresh homemade pasta. They even had pie for dessert! Currently, JD and Trevor were gaming through their food comas on the living room sectional. After the end of a round in today’s shooter of choice, Dixon set down the controller. “It’s been fun, bro, but I’m gonna start packing to go home. My mom’ll be here soon.” He said to Trevor, who nodded in response and said something snarky about him needing to work on his aim.

JD grabbed his emptied juice glass from the end table and headed towards the kitchen. Remy was in there, humming along to some song in his head as he washed the pans from making dinner. Dixon politely put his cup in the dishwasher. He looked over to Rem and chewed at his left lip ring, deeply debating his next move. It was just the two of them, and there was something he’d been meaning to ask his parents about. All four of them. Well... here goes nothing. “Hey, DadWells, can I ask you somethin’?”

For a brief instant, Remy was caught in his mind, replaying moments when he was younger, with his husband. Moments when this song was becoming their life. This song meant the world to the chef and no matter the day, no matter the time, no matter the circumstances, this was his reminder that Jareth was his. All his. No one could take that away from him. Remy loved him when they were kids and Remy still loved him, just as much and more, as working adults with a family to take care of.

Absentmindedly, his hand scrubbed a pan in circular motions. He had been cleaning the same spot for about a minute now. When he heard a familiar voice, Remy reluctantly paused the song in his head. Looking over his shoulder, the loving father responded with a simple, “Hm?” Which everyone knew was: yes, of course you can.

“Uh…” Dixon responded rather unintelligently. What came next? He hadn’t planned this far. He licked at his left lip ring again. Leaning his back up against the counter beside Remy, he crossed his arms over his chest, subconsciously creating an emotional barrier. He was, after all, his biological parents’ son. “I wanted to ask like, you and PopWells, how did you know that you loved him? Was there a big moment, or did it happen over time?” He asked very seriously, as if he was conducting research. If he was asked, that is what his cover story would be.

Remy didn’t expect that. Placing both the pan and sponge down, DadWells reached for a hand towel, turned his attention towards JD, and wiped his hands. “Any reason you’re asking?” The blond man’s eyebrow curved up in curiosity. Of course Remy would inquire about the reasoning behind this before he rambled on about his love life.

“Yeah.” Dixon responded quickly and confidently. “It’s for school. Freshman health class has us doing a project on healthy relationships, I guess because they don’t want us being slutty teenagers or whatever. Anyway, you guys are like the most in love people I know, ‘sides my parents, but I’ll be talking to them too. But I mean, if I’m being real, you and PopWells seem way more in love.” JD’s blatant lie was sandwiched between truths, which made it come out smoothly. Hey, he wasn’t so bad at acting. Who knew that there was more to him than violence and violas?

Even if he was terribly bad at lying, Remy was a gullible man and believed nearly anything unless it was coming out of Riley’s mouth. Excitedly, he threw the hand towel on the counter and clasped his hands together, so happy someone was curious of his love story, “It all started with a pencil. Jareth was the new transfer and kept to himself. When someone would try to break through his barriers, he would lash out. But when I gave him my pencil, and used a crayon for our math test instead, I knew he’d be my best friend. For life. What I didn’t realize was I was super into him even before then and our relationship just kind of escalated.... we kept getting closer and closer, and I fell more and more madly in love with him, Before we even became close, I stopped him from beating some kid to a bloody pulp and I guess he felt bad for yelling at me so he said hey, let’s be friends. I was way into him before he even was into me. I even made my dating sims characters look like him… maybe I was in denial. Just a little bit. That is until I started getting jealous. Very jealous. I broke and decided to confess to him. He broke my heart. It got really awkward after that because by then I had come to terms I was totally gay, for him and only him, but he was still battling his own demons of liking me. After I avoided him like the damn plague, too embarrassed to face him, because well, it sucks, being rejected by the only person you’ve ever had eyes for… he came to me and he wrote me a song. The feelings were mutual. Finally. The rest is history!”

“Wait, he yelled at you?” JD asked in shock. The parallels in that story and how Tuesday night’s party had gone made him feel a little uncomfortable. Or maybe just nervous about what it could mean. He shifted his weight from one heel to the other. “I didn’t know he yelled, aside from with, like, in the band and stuff. Huh. So… how did he apologize for that?” This question was a little more personal, and Dixon, unbeknownst to him, was losing his researcher persona a bit. Instead, he was just a young high schooler looking for advice. He had someone to apologize to too, and he had know idea how to go about it.

With the best Jareth impression anyone could do, Remy used his middle finger to push his imaginary long emo hair to the side and looked at JD as if he were, well, him, “Thanks for stopping me from beating that kid up…” Subtlety and unintentionally, Remy’s arm touched JD’s, like Jar’s had many years ago, “I probably would’ve gotten suspended and sent back, so…” Two blinks. His eyes smiling, but not his lips. “Thanks. And…” Looking away from JD, trying his best to keep his cool, he muttered, “Sorry for yelling at you.”

Dixon cracked up laughing at Remy’s impersonation. It was so very… edgelord. “Oh man, I could like, feel the awkward. Shit, that’s golden.” JD giggled again. “Thanks, DadWells, that was helpful. Off to interviewee number two now, dinner was great if I don’t see you again before Ma gets here. Thanks!” Dixon said before heading off down to the studio, where he assumed Jareth would be.

“Hey,” JD greeted from the doorway of the studio, which the majority of the basement of the Wells household had been converted to. Inside, Jareth was sitting at his work desk, scribbling out something on a sheet of paper. The front man of Deciduous Dreams looked up from his task and gave the young boy a half smile.

“Hey Dixon, what’s up?” Jar asked.

“Are you busy?” JD responded to the question with another question, still standing in the doorway.

“Nah, just working through some lyrics. And running ideas by your dad, actually. Come on in.”

Dixon stepped through the threshold to the musician’s domain. This was the room where some real magic happened. It was like walking into an emo holy place. “I was just talking to DadWells about one of my school projects, and I was looking to hear your thoughts on it.”

“Oh, alright…” Jareth said, setting his pencil down and giving Dixon his full attention. “I wasn’t really good at school, but shoot, what is it?”

“A health project on healthy relationships. To start, could you tell me about how you and DadWells fell in love?”

This wasn’t for any school project, this was a bold-faced lie. This was the kind of shit Jar would have pulled at age fourteen to hide from his feelings, so he saw right through JD’s charade. That being said, he went with it. He’d already failed one kid by not giving his advice when it was needed, he wasn’t about to let that happen again. “I was bad at that too.”

“Yeah… I mean, I heard Rem’s side of it. But what about yours, what happened?”

Jareth looked melancholic for a moment, but then a soft smile graced his lips. Their love story had a rocky beginning, but that only made them stronger in the long run. “For me, it started when Remy told me that he liked me. We were best friends for years before that day, but I had never thought about him like that until the option was laid out in front of me. And then, the option terrified me. First, there was the fact that I had to come to terms with the fact that I wasn’t straight, at least not as straight as I thought I was. Then, there was the fear of what coming out would mean. And finally, what if I took the option… and messed it up. What if I lost my best friend?”

Enraptured by his idol’s story, Dixon leaned forward. “How… how did you deal with all that?”

“Music.” Jar said simply. “I turned to my craft. Music had always helped me find myself in the past. When things felt dark and I felt lost, music lit my path. That’s what you have to do, you know? Healthy relationships start with healthy people, so you gotta work on you first… even if admitting previously unknown things about yourself is hard. And then, you have to be willing to take risks. Love is a gamble, but the jackpot is pretty fucking sweet.” Jareth laughed and smiled wistfully. “I was really bad with words back then, so I basically apologized for being an ass with a song. We musicians have an easy way out in that, I guess.”

“Yeah, I get that.” JD responded, nodding in agreement.

Jar sat back in his chair and put his arm around the back of it, his gaze locked on Dixon’s face. “So, who’s this really about?” He asked, letting the cat out of the bag that he knew.

“Wh-what?” The boy’s eyes shot wide, looking like a panicked deer.

“Chill… I’m not going to tell anybody, but I know this isn’t for a school project. So, who is it? Anybody I know?”

“...no.” Dixon said honestly, after a very long pause of contemplation.

“KIDDO! GET YOUR ASS UP HERE. YOUR FATHER IS FUCKING IMPATIENT.”

Oh, thank the non-existent gods. His mother was here to save the day! “Uh, gotta go! Thanks, Jar… for everything.” Jareth nodded with a warm smile before going back to his work, and the kid took off running upstairs.

Sin didn’t even fully go into the Wells’ estate. Instead her head was poking through the front door, “HI REMY, JARETH. BYE REMY, JARETH. TELL YOUR KIDS TO GET LAID. BYE.” Expecting her son to come upstairs and follow her, ‘Sin Hardy’, or more privately known as Regina Piccoli, went to her car. When her son was not out yet, she started honking impatiently. This here was the drummer of Deciduous Dreams, everybody, and the lovely mother of Johnny Dixon.

There was a thumping as Dixon marched up the steps to get to his mother. He had his backpack slung over his shoulder now and waved at all of the Wells’ on his way out. “Thanks guys, see you later. Sorry Ma yelled.” JD said as he shrugged the backpack more firmly onto his shoulder. After saying his goodbyes to the Wells household, he made his way to his mom’s car. “Why’s Dad being impatient?” Did JD forget about something important? He couldn’t remember any plans… then again, it didn’t take much to annoy Lucas.

“Oh, sweet child of mine, your dad is probably jerking off to something on TV. I just don’t like waiting. You know me!” Sin had kept her car running, so really, it was only a matter of taking the car off park and pressing the gas for them to speed towards their home. Sin may not be the most visibly compassionate, but she cherished the nights they were all together. Even with how she acted, she was probably the happiest mother alive. Her and her husband fight for shits and giggles, because it was their language of love, JD was growing up to be someone she was proud to have pushed out of her vagina, and honestly, she had nothing to complain about. Sex was good. House was spooky all year round. Kiddo continued to be a kid. What more could she possibly ask for?

“Gross.” Was JD’s simple, one-worded reply. He was used to that kind of talk though, this was his mom, after all. “Sorry I kept you waiting, I was talking to Jar in the studio, so I didn’t get your text. Service in the basement is shitty… probably from the soundproofing.” JD looked out the window and watched the street lights go by as they drove, strobing against the black night sky. “When we get home, there’s something I need to ask you and Dad about. For a school project, okay? Then maybe we can watch a movie, if it’s not too late.” JD suggested hopefully.

“Child, I ain’t even mad. Don’t apologize. Just be like, Ma, I’ll get to you when I get to you. I didn’t raise a fucking pushover.” Sharply, Sin turned left and before both of them knew it, and after simple chit chat about JD’s day, they found themselves entering the living room.

“SHORTIE, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, WHEREFORE ART THOU?!” Sin knew exactly where he was. “Oh, there you are! Couldn’t see you for a sec.” Sarcasm, just what the doctor asked for. The feisty mother couldn’t help but tease her husband as she gazed at his handsome self on his man couch. HIS man couch. Taking it upon herself, the infamous cougar that swept her man off his feet jumped on top of his lap and kissed him ever so roughly.

Honey colored eyes glared from Lucas’ position on the couch, following Sin until she was on his lap. Deciduous Dreams’ lead guitarist’s face looked mean, but there was a smirk in his gaze as he leaned forward to kiss Sin back. “Wife.” He greeted shortly. “Spawn.” Luke said, looking to JD now. “Welcome home, I was just watching this here riveting show about… I don’t even remember. I was sleeping until you YELLED.” He said with his attention back on his wife.

“Hey, Dad.” Dixon said before plopping down on the other couch, dropping his backpack on the floor carelessly.

“Hey, listen, bitch. I expect you to be up to greet me when I come home, that’s what housewives are for.” Sin over exaggerated her eye roll, before she grinned and winked, “Know your place, turdface.” Lucas replied with a feigned gasp, as if that truly hurt.

JD rolled his eyes at his parents. “Okay, lovebirds, you can play fight after. I have an assignment, and you’re probably going to hate it, Dad, but that’s fine. You’ll live. Anyway, it’s a project about healthy relationships—”

“Hah!” Luke responded with a laugh. “You hear that, old lady? Healthy relationships.” Sin’s left eye twitched. It didn’t matter the year, ‘old lady’ always got under her skin.

“Riiight. So, weirdly enough, even though you are my parents, I actually don’t know how you guys stopped fighting long enough to become my parents.” Realizing what he’d just said, he held up a finger to silence any witty zingers to come. “PLEASE spare me the details, I neither need nor want that nightmare of a biology lesson. But, how did you guys actually like, fall in love and stuff?”

I mean, long story short, we met at a bar, I called your dad shortstuff, he hated me for that, then he broke the jaw of my ex’s face when he tried to interrupt our conversation. From there, I knew we’d go into fucktown and never come back. Then you came along as a result!” Their love story was simple, yet it was their own. Luke was fucking hot when he beat the shit out of her unoriginal, thieving, full of STDs, motherfuckin’ ex. Yeah, that punch was enough to seal the deal and make her panties wet for days.

“Hey! He had that shit coming! What an ASSHAT. You really know how to pick ‘em, Reg.”

“You PUNCHED a dude and broke his jaw? You guys sent me to therapy for punching kids, and their noses only bled for like ten minutes, how is that even fair?!”

“Listen, kid, you didn’t know when it was the right time to punch people. Now the Doc and Troy are teaching you some discipline and all that, so you can be better than us. He was a real fucker though… he deserved it. What was it that he called you, anyway? I’m getting old, I can’t even remember the shit that triggered me…” Luke directed the question at his wife, scratching at the stubble on his chin in thought.

“That detail doesn’t even matter.” She had no clue. That time was way behind her, so knowing the fine details of their past was pointless. Plus, she was older than her husband. Her memory was twice as bad!

It was probably some slut shaming term or whatever. All JD needed to know was they were together and happy. “Just know when you’re older, if there’s fuckers, it’s okay to break their bones, but right now, you need to be a model citizen until we’re no longer liable for you. Got it?” Regina with her harsh, dark gaze, waited for her son’s response.

“Ehh…” Dixon shrugged. “We’ll see. You know what people say about apples and trees.” Momma didn’t raise a pushover, right? “Be right back, I’m going to bring my stuff upstairs and change into pajamas. Then movie night, Dad gets to pick this time.” JD said before scurrying off upstairs to his room.

Scoff. “I feel like you always pick.” Not true. She always picked. “Whatever, that’s not important right now. You know what is important?” Sin wrapped her hands around Luke’s neck, intertwining her fingers, while giving a smug look.

“What?” He asked, smirking back at his rockstar beauty. “Right now? We can’t, you heard the kid, it’s movie night. After, though…”

“No, dumbass!” Sin pinched her husband’s neck, ”You make it seem like I think about fucking you 24/7.” She did. “Our son has a crush.” Momma’s intuition never failed her. JD did come out of her twat, after all.

“That’s because you do — wait, what? How the hell do you know that?”

“I know everything. That’s why.”

Collab with @Hey Im Jordan
Friday before Star Wars
Mentions of Wyatt @smarty0114

“And whatever you do, don’t suck him off on the first date. That makes you a thot, and Dad wouldn’t approve of that. I wouldn’t approve of that either.”

Damian was back in his room Friday (after a particularly emotional {for her} meeting with his mother, involving lots of ugly crying — more on that later), with Joy on his lap while he gave his younger sister some brotherly advice for her very first date. “And if he touches your butt, push his hands away. you don’t want that. And if he does it again, text me and I’ll have Trevor tackle him. I’m not gonna be there, since we have dinner plans unfortunately, or I would totally creep on you from a short distance to make sure he isn’t being a fucker.” Damian rested his chin on Joy’s shoulder, and his eyes looked up toward the ceiling. They’d been at this for about six minutes now, and he’d touched most of the bases.

“Just be yourself. And when you feel like that isn’t gonna work, imagine what you think I’d do, if I was there and the guy was a girl. And then don’t do that. Then, after you’ve imagined what I would do and then not done it, imagine what you would do, and then do that. Remember, whoever this is goin’ on this date because you’re you, not because you’re Damian’s little sister.” A this, Damian sniffled a little, teasing her as he wiped fake tears away, “You grew up so fast. I’m so proud.”

“...so no butt touching?” Truly Bliss had to confirm the advice her brother was giving her. She had a notepad and everything! She had to cross out ‘butt touches’ because she actually wanted to touch Wyatt’s butt. “What if it was by accident and it actually made me smile? Would that make it okay for a butt touch?” She had to cover all the bases with her brother. Leave no open ends.

Joy stood silent and watched the interaction with the siblings. Honestly, what she was most curious about was whether or not Damian knew his sister had a crush. On an upperclassmen for that matter! Smiling to herself, Joy did think True looked awfully cute. It was like she was planning for this day all her life. Her outfit was completely on point and she looked ready to make a boy swoon.

“Well, I mean if the butt touching is allowed by both parties, I guess it’s okay. But you have to make sure that there’s no unwanted butt touching, because that’s when it gets slimey, you know? And then I really only have one last ipp, and if you’re gonna write this down in really big bold letters os you don’t forget it. It’s the most important one by far.” Damian looked away from True, and instead to Joy, playing with her hair as he continued to speak, finishing off his biggest tip yet. “Have fun. It’s a date. They’re supposed to be fun, not awkward or scary, or anything like that. Just enjoy yourself, and go in and come back with that big smile on your face and you’ll go in single and come out with a boyfriend.”

“Just a boyfriend?” True scoffed. She wanted more than just that. Wait, her brother will think she’s weird. “I, err… what if he doesn’t like me enough to ask me out? Should I ask him out? I don’t know if I can. He’s too cool for me and whenever I look at him, I just want to touch.” She was not helping her case. At all.

“Alright, first OFF. Your last name makes you wicked cooler than anyone you could date, and if you wanna touch him, then touch him. Guys like when girls get frisky, so I mean go for it. Just don’t thot it up. So don’t put out on the first date, or everyone will think you’re easy. Put out on the second date.” What? It made sense to him — that was how it worked with other girls, the same thing would apply to his sister, O’Connor or not. “And whatever you do, do not invite him over. Go to his place. Go to his friend’s place. Go to a hotel. I’ll pay for it. Whatever it takes! Don’t wanna be fuckin’ here, Mom will know and she’ll intentionally make it weird. She did that to me for the first few times too.” Damian nuzzled his cheek against Joy’s, and shook his head. “Don’t get weird. I know you get weird… sometimes. But just get a little weird. Not too weird. There’s a little gray area and that’s where you operate. Joy do you have anything to add?”

Joy was trying her best to keep her laughter to herself. Hearing Damian in brother mode was hilarious. But now that he said everything he needed to say, she looked over to True and shrugged, “If you need a safe place, I can call my uncle. He’s pretty chill when it comes to these things, as for ‘putting out’ just remember to use protection.”

“Wait, what does putting out mean and how am I going to find a bodyguard to protect me?! I don’t have enough time and I don’t think Wyatt will hurt me! Do you want to come on my date, big brother? You’re my protection!” True’s response caused Joy to cover up her mouth and laugh. She wasn’t trying to be rude, but watching and hearing True was priceless. She was adorable and unbelievably naive. “What’s so funnnyyyyyy!” The freshman whined.

“Sorry, sorry. I’ll let Damian answer this one.” Another chuckle slipped out.

Damian lifted Joy up off of his lap, and placed her on the bed, shaking his head. Of course, he had to take the hard questions. It wasn’t even his fault, Joy brought up all the things. He stood up from his bed and rolled his eyes, “putting out means ‘having sex.’ Don’t do it on the first date! But if you do…” Damian rummaged around in his night stand, before withdrawing a box of condoms, which he opened and pulled one out. “Here. Make him put this on. If he says no, kick him in the dick.” With that, Damian thrust out the offered condom, before he went ahead and added more confusing advice, “But don’t kick him in the dick if he produces his own to wear, because this might be too big. Maybe too small, but I dunno. Just make sure he puts one on. If he doesn’t? Kick him in the dick. But only if he’s going to have sex with you. If you’re just giving head then you don’t need one. Also, remember, spitters are quitters. And you ain’t a quitter.”

“Spitters are quitters… too big…. too small… wait, I want his babies I can’t kick him in the dick!”

“Damian, you’re teaching your sister bad things.” Joy chided, crossing her arms as she watched the two converse.

”And, and, and what is giving head? Do I like knock my head on his?” With this, Joy laid back on Damian’s bed. She was done. Absolutely done.

“Ay!” Damian very suddenly leaned down incredibly closer to True’s face and held up his finger, “listen here! Don’t be thinkin’ about having nobody’s babies! You are like twelve years old! You can have babies when you’re 26! No older, no younger. You got one year!” He straightened back up and tugged at the hem of his shirt, adjusting it as he glanced over at Joy and shook his head, “Truly Bliss is truly sheltered. She’s fourteen — damn near fifteen — years old and she doesn’t know what that means? Better me than somebody else! It means usin’ your mouth to get your man off. Don’t use teeth.”

“Hmpf. I don’t see the problem with having babies. OKAY, IF HE ASKS I WILL USE MY MOUTH.” It was the only solution.

Staring at the ceiling, her arm resting over her eyes, Joy interjected, “Or you can like, not do any sexual thing and just enjoy learning things about him? That’s what first dates are for.”

“I already know so much about him! I guess I could ask him if he’ll marry me.”

“Joy, you don’t understand. She inherited mom’s crazy. I’m warning her about things that are inevitable tonight.” Damian explained, looking over at his girlfriend, “it’s better she goes in knowing what she’s getting into than not.”

“TRULY, IT’S ALMOST TIME. I’LL BE IN THE CAR!” Melody’s voice was nice and crisp, coming from down the hall.

“Right, one last thing. Make sure he can drive. Getting carted about by mom for sex dates is embarrassing.” Damian turned around and leaned down once more, kissing True on the cheek. “Love you. Call me if you need me. Be good. But not too good.”

“Love you too, big brother! I’m just going to…” True pocketed the condom in her bra. She had no pockets.

“That’s a good idea. Make him grab it. Good plan!” Damian ruffled True’s hair, and returned to the bed. His work here was done.

Holding tight to her phone, True nodded to her brother and rushed out, slamming the door behind her.

“I’m glad I’m the youngest out of my siblings.” Sure, Owen and Ruby were her half siblings but they were her siblings nevertheless. “I’ve learned enough from them, but with True… it’s a little bit different for her.” She turned her body to face Damian. “You’d think she’d learn a thing or two from you.” Joy teased.

“A king only reveals his secrets at the right time. He is never late.” Damian put a hand on Joy’s arm, and pushed onto her back, crawling on top of her. “Nor is he ever early. He arrives precisely when he needs to.” He flicked his head toward the door that True had shut. “I taught to always shut the door when she leaves. Little lessons.”

With that, he leaned down and pressed his lips against hers...

“Did you just quote Lord of the Rings?” Joy briefly pulled away to ask him that.

“Yes. Please don’t ask questions, we don’t have much time.” Damian’s shirt was off before he finished talking.

He was right. They never did have much time. Feeling him up and resting her hands on his broad shoulders, she mischievously smiled, “Okay. Let’s get to work.”

A Collaboration Between: @Bee and @Lovely Complex
Featuring: Justin Quentin and Cyndi Green

What was Justin doing? Earlier today he was barely awake and barely in the right state of mind to make decisions. But now… all these hours later, he was here standing in front of The Underground waiting for his date to show up. He had decided to dress a little casual. A plaid button down (with the sleeves rolled up, of course) and a pair of dark wash jeans were in order for the quarterback. He had his phone out, leaning against the overhang of the club as he waited for Cyndi.

Where was she, anyway? It was almost time for their date and she was nowhere to be seen. He was starting to get nervous. Maybe he was being stood up? His eyes darted up from his phone momentarily to scan the field. There was nobody in sight, which didn’t really instill faith in him. He wanted to text her and ask, but he didn’t want to seem desperate.

Coming out of the club, Xander’s lips, with a charming lip ring on his bottom left lip, curved into a sly smirk before tapping the boy’s shoulder. “Justin?” Unlike the other butlers, Xander’s look was like he came straight out of a Rolling Stones mag. Ear gauges, dressed in black, and a fuck off aura. His purpose, Cyndi Green, wanted to make Justin wait until it was close to showtime. If he waited for her, that meant he passed the first test. Now here was the second. “Can you do me a favor?” The youngest butler’s gaze was cold, and yet his smile contrasted it with welcoming charm.

Justin looked at the boy as he came out of the club. He was pretty sure that wasn’t Cyndi. Was he being catfished? Was Cyndi actually a dude and he didn’t know it? What in tarnation was this? Justin shot him a weird look, but he wasn’t going to press too much just yet. Maybe there was more to this than met the eye. The more he found out about this more confused he was. ”W-What favor? Who are you?”

“Do you have anything in your pockets?” Xander waited expectantly as he eyed the teenage boy. “Please show me everything you have on person, or I can’t let you inside.” Pause. “Where your date is waiting.” Xander crossed his arms, his lips no longer smiling while he surveyed the jock like the bodyguard he was. Search procedure, not actually required. Really, it was all fun and games for Xander.

”Uh. Okay?” He pulled out his phone and wallet. That was literally that was on him. Nothing less, nothing more. ”That’s all I got.” Was this a club, or an airport?

“Is it? Up against the wall, hands on your head.” Was Xander aiming to humiliate the kid? Maybe. He was a Green butler after all and they were the best machines anyone could hire. Those around them tried to avoid the scene, not knowing the context besides one man was checking another man for contraband.

Was this dude a cop or something…? But, he supposed that if it was for the sake oF Cyndi, then it was acceptable. Putting his hands on his head, he went against the wall and let Xander search him. ’I’m not carrying anything, I swear!”

The kid was a good listener. So far, so good. Cyndi needed someone to listen to her. She was an extremely lonely girl. Instead of searching him, like the scenario showed, he simply went behind Justin and whispered in his right ear, “You break her heart, I break your skull. Remember that kid. Don’t think you’ll have it easy, just because you’re good looking and you’re the first guy to really show anything remotely lovey to her.”

After he said his peace, Xander shifted his demeanor and slapped Justin’s back foolhardy, “I’m just shittin’ with you! Come along, the rappers are just about to go on.”

Stepping away from him, Xander opened the door and motioned for Justin to go in, “Balcony level. Completely reserved for just you two.” And when Justin would walk in, Xander would chuckle to himself and whisper, “Don’t pass go, don’t collect 200 dollars.” Cyndi’s butler was a manchild.

This Xander guy sure was odd. Justin had been lead to believe he was going into a top secret facility with how much scrutiny he was under. But then, he was lead to believe otherwise. It bothered him, admittedly, but his mood changed for the better once he left Xander in his dust and pulled up next to Cyndi in the rather nice booth. God, it was super nice, and the girl there was even nicer.

Taking a seat next to Cyndi, he smiled. ”Hey… you’re looking great tonight.”

She better look great! It took her hours to decide what to wear. Cyndi knew she was a bit formal for The Underground but this was their first time meeting so she had to look like she was walking on the red carpet. Starstruck. First impressions mattered. Bang, bang. If there were three things to describe the way Cyndi Green looked it was: Beautiful, important, and rich. When Justin had come to her booth, he walked in on her sucking a succulent strawberry. Embarrassed on her manners, she placed her bitten strawberry down on a glass plate and grabbed a napkin to wipe her fingers of the juice,.

Instinctively, she stood up, “Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself!” Like a daughter of Alyssa, she gave him permission to take a seat, “Please sit. Make yourself comfortable. It’s so nice to meet you, Justin.” Placing her bottom back down, she sweetly smiled, her voice so soft, if you didn’t know her you wouldn’t think her pipes were out of this world, “Did Xander play nice?” There were obvious signs that Cyndi wasn’t yet ready for them to make physical contact, even in a simple form of a handshake.

Justin was going to go in for a handshake, but since Cyndi didn’t reach out he didn’t. He found it a bit odd, but considering that they just met it was perfectly reasonable to do so. He sat down and looked out at the stage up ahead. Seemed like things were getting under way tonight. Sitting down, he put a leg up and glanced over to see what exactly Cyndi was doing. Seemed like she was having some strawberries. That was cool. He could always appreciate someone who enjoyed the fruits of nature.

”Xander? That’s what his name is? He was… nice yeah sure.” He swallowed hard, before chuckling sheepishly. He was scared that if he said something wrong, either he or she would’ve killed him. ”How have ya been? You doing okay?” He asked curiously, looking over to her with some interest.

“Xander can be a pain, but I love him. He’s my butler.” Xander wasn’t her first butler, and could never replace her first, but he definitely meant the world to her. He was her friend, yet she could admit he played around too much. Her first butler passed away a few years ago and to avoid their daughter suffering from trauma and depression, since Greens get attached to their butlers, that also took on the role as a bodyguard, Alyssa made sure to take care of the matter for her princess — immediately.

Cyndi carefully watched Justin’s face, examining his every move in both scrutiny and appreciation. “I’m alright, still a little jet lagged, but other than that, I’m really glad to be back. I missed home. Like a lot.” The littlest Green loved to expand her horizons, but going to South Korea was far too much of a culture shock and she missed what mattered the most to her. Her family. Gesturing to her plate, she offered, “You want some strawberries? We can also order something!” Cyndi’s hand went from her plate to the menu, “Get whatever you like! It’s on me.” Challenging gender stereotypes, the girl smiled, waiting patiently for their response.

Holding up a hand, Justin gently waved his hand. ”No thanks, I’m good for now.” Truthfully, Justin was starving. The dumbass had forgotten to eat before the date because he was so damn nervous. But, he didn’t want to do anything that would have risked this date and turned it into shit, so for the time being he just dealt with his hunger. Maybe later down the line he’d order something, but for right now he’d just hang back and watch the performances up ahead.

”So… what exactly is going on tonight? Is this like a rap fest or something?”

“Sorta, but not really. It’s an open mic night, and the theme happens to be rap. We play old school beats and you drop some bars. ‘Rap fests’, or events like Ascension and MuLA, are a bit more focused on talent and spitting hardcore. This is just a hangout place where amateurs and professionals alike can grab a mic and get some practice in. But, if you want to really get yourself out there? I suggest finding out the deets on the ‘rap fests’ because that’s where the big game is.” Speaking of MuLa, Cyndi glanced over the railing and caught sight of her cousin, Sebastian, and the infamous ‘Our Lady’. The devil herself who was the current host of MuLa. Were Henry and Hailey going this year? Glancing back at her date, Cyndi excitedly smiled, “Not much of a rap fan, are you? It’s okay if you aren’t. Be honest. I want to know more about you.”

Justin raised an eyebrow as Cyndi asked if Justin liked rap. Did he like rap? Of course he did, he was an athlete. The songs and praises of lyricists worldwide were being sung in the many locker rooms he had been in. It was hard for him to not like the genre. ”Oh dude, of course I like rap. I listen to it all the time because of all my teammates. It's all you hear in a locker room these days.” With that being said, he much would've rather heard other genres instead of the same shit.

“Good.” Whether Justin was aware of it or not, he earned himself some brownie points. Their conversation came to a halt, as the MC went on stage.

Tonight was hella’ poppin. Nero ‘watched’ as people went on and off, on and off. As he made introduction after introduction, he recalled bumping into Meg by the juice bar, a fan favorite, a girl destined for greatness even if she didn’t see it, and she was getting drinks for her and Sebastian Lyon. Woah was she in a relationship? With a LYON?! She specifically told him tonight she would not go up, she was simply looking for talent for an event she was planning. Sucked. But hey, maybe he’ll convince her later. When he returned to his station, backstage, the DJ whispered who was next on the list, since Junior couldn’t really look at the clipboard. Smiling to himself, the drummer nodded, “Classic.” Before the DJ released his arm, to do his job, he whispered something else in his ear, “Well shit. Y’know I’ll have to do something about that.” Cyndi Green was back in town and here, tonight, on a date.

Grinning like a kid, the blind boy grabbed his mic and went to the hungry crowd, “It’s almost half time, people! ARE YOU PUMP, OR ARE YOU PUMP?” He paused to hear the crowd screaming, “Before I introduce our next rapper, I want to thank you all for coming out and our rappers for coming through. The Underground wouldn’t be the shit without you, so thanks again and know the stage is for everyone so if you want to drop some bars, sign your name and we’ll give you the spotlight. Yea. Alright, I ain’t going to keep you waiting. Aaaand up next, we have….Yuuunnnnnnnnnng Steve!!!” Nero let the crowd roar before he walked back to the DJ stand, next to his eyes for the night.

Standing up, Justin took a closer look. ”Oh my god…”

“What?” Cyndi looked back at Justin, raising an eyebrow at his reaction. “Do you not like Yung Steve?” The tiny dancer loved Yung Steve, primarily because he was a meme, but eh. That didn’t change that she enjoyed his stage presence.

”No I like Yung Steve… I just didn't expect him to be here.” He was watching him start off on his freestyle. And he didn't have a bad start either. As a matter of fact… it was the opposite of bad. The couple stopped conversing as Yung Steve made the house bounce. Leaning over the railing once more, Cyndi bobbed her head to his words, taking in his lyrics. This actually was pretty decent for him.

—Objection, your honor.
Rejection, you a goner!
Absolutely tedious I feel absolutely delirious.
Rap so furious, it is not very mysterious…”

“I’m impressed! He’s actually not making people laugh. Hey!” She talked over the loud beat. The date must go on. She can appreciate the rap and get to know Justin, all at the same time. “So what do you want out of this? Like, am I just cute to you?” The Green princess poked Justin for information to see if this was just a one time deal, or if he wanted to go the distance with her.

Listening to Yung Steve tear it up, he was caught off guard as Cyndi popped the question he hadn’t been expecting. He turned around and looked straight at her. Okay.. well that was unexpected. Straight to the point though, he couldn’t discredit her for that. ”I dunno. I’d like to be in it for the long run, but we’ve only just met. It’s hard for me to say.”

Honest answer. “Fair enough. I hope to not bore you to tears. No guy has ever really pursued me and if there was one, my mom probably scared them off.” After pushing her hair behind her ear, she brought her attention back to Yung Steve, “It’s okay, though. If you don’t like me after tonight… I’m use to being alone.” Resting her chin on her arm, she smiled down at all the people, not realizing how honest she was being herself.

—Captain Crunch, yuh.
There’s a big ol’ bunch
Not a pig for lunch
I feast, you dig on a hunch?

Justin tilted his head curiously, ”What makes you say that? The night is young, Cyndi. Still a long way to go.” He honestly expected more people on her trail, but apparently not? He was intrigued at this point. What went on in that head of Cyndi’s?

As Yung Steve’s rap came to a close, she shifted her body to face Justin once more and shrugged, “As pathetic as this sounds, I don’t really have many friends. My schedule is usually jam packed because I hope to one day to be like my aunt, who is a triple threat in the entertainment industry. I just thought you should know, I won’t be heartbroken if you don’t want more out of this.” She grabbed her bitten strawberry and finished it off.

Suddenly, Justin felt a whole ass wave of sympathy wash over him as he listened to Cyndi talk. ”Oh, really? Well that sucks… but like… you’re a Green, right? I think that should be enough to have people come your way, no? I mean, that’s why I’m here. Heh. It’s honestly too early for me to say, but I hope it goes somewhere.”

“Green is only a name. Doesn’t mean I make friends like my brother does. Hard to get attached when I’m too busy for people. Not many people can understand that. I would know. I had a huge fall out when I was ten. It’s easier this way, but I’m willing to give you a chance.” Cyndi softly beamed.

”Well… here’s hoping for the best.” Justin said, as he watched Yung Steve finish up. He was in disbelief that was really Yung Steve freestyling. That wasn’t Yacht Steve. This… this was Super Saiyan Steve. He didn’t know what he was watching. ”Did you just listen to Yung Steve, by the way? He went OFF.”

“Give it up for YUNG STEVEEEEEEEE!”

“I did! He was on fire.” Unfortunately for Cyndi, suddenly, the lights went directly on her and her date. Oh no. She was found.

“Before we take a break, look who’s in the house! Cyndiiii Greeeeeeen!” Nero followed the light, but obviously, couldn’t actually see her.

Oh how embarrassing.

“NERO, WHY YOU DO THIS EVERY TIME I’M HERE?” Nero was more like family than a friend to her, even though they weren’t related. Her face flared red and a whole different side of her came out.

“Because this is your father’s establishment, and if there is one thing we all know by now, you and your siblings, specifically Hailey and Henry, know how to rap. Why don’t you grace the stage with your beautiful presence?”

“I don’t know… it’s been a minute since I did this.” Cyndi hid herself behind the railing, but the crowd started chanting her name, Noooooooo.

Suddenly, the spotlight was on Cyndi. Justin ducked and sat down behind the barrier as he looked at Cyndi. Apparently people wanted her to show off. He wanted to see this definitely. Justin smiled, ”C’mon, Cyndi! Fuck it, dude!” He raised his fists and started pumping, ”Cyndi! Cyndi! Cyndi!”

Oh-my-god. She was going to kill Junior! Absolutely sever any bond they had after this. Nervously grinning, she looked at Justin and admitted defeat, “Fine, fine, fine. But after this, I want ice cream. And a ‘romantic’ walk on the beach.” Greens always bargained.

”I can do that.” Hopefully Justin’s gift card to Coldstone still worked, otherwise he would’ve been in trouble. ”But you better go up there! A deal’s a deal!”

“You’re right. A deal’s a deal.” Finally, she stood up and everyone applauded. Taking a deep sigh in, she mentally gave herself a pep talk, as she walked away from her date, down the stairs, through the crowd, and to the stage. She was on the balcony for a reason! She wasn’t supposed to perform tonight. “Nero, I hope you’re happy. You took me away from my date.”

“Babygirl, after this, he’s going to be more into you. Trust.” Before Nero could introduce her, she took the mic out of his hand, “I’ll take it from here.”

Watching Cyndi walk away, Justin remained at the balcony as he watched Cyndi scurry on over to the stage. Taking a deep breath, he held it on his diaphragm. ”LET’S GO CYNDI!!!!!”

“Looks like winning him over won’t be so hard after all.” Nero whispered into Cyndi’s ear before walking off. She responded with a sassy eye roll before putting the mic to her lips.

Rather than say her name, she went right to it and her confidence, her true unstoppable self, shined best when she was on stage.

"Ya, ya, we're going to call this the game
because you know it isn't about my last name
and I'm sure as hell not going to walk up here and be a damn cliche
so yeah, you ready for this?

I can't hear you. I said YOU READY FOR THIS?"

Her body swayed to the tune, her eyes glinted with pride and excitement. When the track started playing, she snapped her fingers to it and instinctively the crowd started clapping to the tempo. Sure, she was hoping she wouldn't embarrass herself in front of her date, but hey at least she wasn't afraid to perform in front of him. As she waited for the beat to drop, she let her pipes grace the room: "Ah yeah, yeah, yeah..."

And then it was time.

"Your girl here, Cyndi G
And I bet you think I'm the sweetest little bumblebee
Because as far as you're concerned I walk the Green mile
And everybody calls me that girl, the perfect wonder child
Did you know this is exactly what lips do?
We be sippin' on some syrup and given' something for you to chew
You wish you can be seen with someone like me
because you know, baby, I've learned from the best and I'll only reign supreme

Hold up, wait a minute, let me put some back into it

I'm not tryin' to scare you away
And I don't know why you think I'm a pretty-french-manicure-jade
What you need to learn is
My birthright
I'll be flowin' nice on the beat
but don't forget,
My words are airtight

I rock so hard, we be stuck in a game and you have no choice but to get-a-Life, ain't that a shame.
You may play mario but you wish you could smash, bro!
This ain't Monopoly and I'm not going to let you pass go, oh!
Like a Pandemic, spreading my disease
The only cure there is, you getting down on your knees

Floyd's ego don't got nothing on me
So nice when I'm on the scene
Oh look at the time, mama it's time to leave
You know, this is strictly policy
Thinking you stand a chance with a real rhymer
You should fix your makeup, you forgot the most important thing.
Primer.

I'm 100 percent, here to commit, don't got time for your horseplay
Everybody wants the key and the secret
To rap immortality
Like Eminem say.

I'm deadly nightshade
Dropping grenades
Justo en tu cara
You'll never forget this sweet serenade.

FORT MINOR!

You know what comes next:

Remember. The. Name."

Cyndi dropped the mic and walked off the stage.

Justin was stunned. He didn’t know that Cyndi had that kind of flow inside of her. Wow. He… he was stunned. He didn’t know that she could do something like that. He was in awe.

Rather than Cyndi coming back up, Xander did: “She’s ready for her ice cream.”

Collab with @Hey Im Jordan
Thursday morning, Jericho Snyder and his son, Lil' Boss, also known as Tyty
with an unwanted guest... Evelyn Green
Oh and the OG Ty

Six missed calls.

Well, ‘missed’ was a bit generous. Jericho had blatantly and intentionally ignored them. He wasn’t about to answer the phone, even if it was Evelyn calling, even if it may have been important. The truth was, he didn’t much care about what she had to say — Jericho didn’t really care about anything other than a very few specific things, and his sister-in-law was not on the list.

Well, ‘not on the list’ was a little harsh. She just wasn’t very high on the list. The three most important people in his life, were Amity, Tyty, and Phillip, in that order. Evelyn could, and would, be ignored so long as Jericho was spending time with his son. What was she going to do? Complain about it in person? Jericho would ignore her there too.

Playing Super Mario 3D world with the little dude was what mattered. Maybe, and it was a big maybe, maybe after they finished and he was ready for lunch, he’d call Evelyn back. Maybe.

“Did you know we’re almost at the last level, bud? At least, that’s what I remember. After we beat this, it’s the boss fight against Bowser.” Jericho explained, glancing over at his son. The pair of them were sitting side-by-side and cross legged on the floor, on the thick and comfortable carpet in front of their huge, curved TV, and were playing the game they’d been working on beating for a couple of months now. They’d finished New Super Luigi Bros, so this was the next logical step. “After that, we’ve saved the Mushroom Kingdom! We’re almost done.”

“What?! No way, I don’t wanna be done playing games with you! I love playing games with you.”

Jericho’s heart grew eight sizes that day.

“Don’t worry! I have other games you can play, I already talked to mommy and made sure they are 100% mommy-approved.” Jericho said, reaching over and patting Tyty on the head to reassure him.

“Yay!”

With one of Amity’s spare keys unlocking the front entrance, the door opened announcing a soundless presence. It surely wasn’t Jericho’s wife, who usually always entered with a bounce to her step unless she was dreadfully gloomy. Those steps were more like shuffling against the marble. No. These distinct steps were gracefully haunting. Heels that echoed through the halls, but so subtle that it was hardly noticeable over the sound system. Reaching the archway to the living room, the Raven herself tossed her bag on the nearby loveseat and greeted the man that has been ignoring her for the two hours, “Jericho. We need to talk.”

“Did you just let yourself into my house? In most states that’s considered breaking and entering. Besides, Evelyn. I’m kinda busy here? We can talk later. I’m saving the Mushroom Kingdom.” He said, turning to look at her only briefly, before he glanced down at the little guy and shook his head, we’re saving the Mushroom Kingdom, sorry. Whatever you want to talk about is nowhere near as important as what I’m doing right now. Phillip will show you the way out.” After Jericho spoke, he turned back to the game, and — true to his word — the floor behind Evelyn lit up with arrows pointing back toward the door out.

“Mrs. Green, if you would…”

“Amity said I could come over. You can call her if you’d like, but you know better than anyone that family means everything to her.” Shaking her head, Evelyn took off her shoes, placed it to the side, and walked to JJ and her nephew. This was going to take awhile. She took a seat beside them, on the floor. “We can multitask. I know you’re fully capable of doing so.” After addressing JJ, Evelyn brought her gaze toward Tyty. Her harsh stare softening. Something about little ones always melts her ice cold heart. “Are you having fun being a hero?”

“Actually, Auntie, I’m a Toad. I like Toad. He jumps high.” Tyty explained. It wasn’t Evelyn’s fault she didn’t know the difference between a toad and a hero, but he could help her learn. After all, he was pretty smart! Like his daddy. But not as smart as his mama. She was even smarter than Daddy!

Jericho looked at Eve and scowled, though he did snap his fingers to dismiss the lights leading toward the door. “I’m on vacation. Don’t you know how rude it is to disturb someone on vacation?”

“You’ve been on vacation for a little over a year now, Jericho. I think I’m allowed to barge in when you ignore my calls. If you simply picked up, we could discuss matters in a timely manner, but no. You rarely pick up and so I must go through your wife in order to reach you.”

“It’s almost like… I don’t... want to... talk to you.” Jericho replied in a thick, sarcastic voice.

“You are the uncle to my children, therefore your participation for their birthdays is at the top of my list. You really are the only one that ever impresses my son.” Composed and hardly reactive to Jericho’s sarcasm, very unlike her sister who reacts to everything, Eve, with a blank stare, carefully surveyed her insufferable brother-in-law. Amity surely knew how to choose them.

“Evelyn, I’m very busy. Do you know what I have planned after we beat Bowser? He wants to build a rocket ship out of Playdoh and Lego. So we’re gonna build a rocket ship, you understand? Plus, I promised him we’d make a house of pancakes and then eat it. This stuff takes time. Planning. Precision. Plus, Alyssa doesn’t even like Henry.” Jericho’s eyes never went off the TV. They were almost done with the castle.

“He is my son and I will not make him feel unwanted.” Eve glared at Jericho and then brought her attention to screen. “The things I need you to do won’t even take that long and it doesn’t have to be done today. We have a little over a month before his and Cyndi’s birthday. He already lacks faith I’ll throw him a decent party because I’m ‘old’.” When Eve said the words old she made quotations with her fingers. “I am trying my best to keep a happy balance in my family.”

“Dude, you are old.”

“Auntie’s at least one thousand!”

“Oh, at least.” Jericho said in agreement, before he paused the game, and turned his body to look at Evelyn. “I agree to do this, and you agree to leave me alone?” He squinted up at her, as if he didn’t trust her. And why would he? She let herself into his house, without even knocking. “I’m trying to, ahem, keep a happy balance in my family, and… you know, really ensure that my son doesn’t feel unwanted.” He sat his controller down and leaned toward Eve, raising his right eyebrow in a sharp arch. “In doing so, part of my efforts require that I come to your house, uninvited, with a key I borrow from Alyssa, and then sit on your couch and talk to you about things you’re, at most, indifferent about.”

If he had gum, he would have popped it. “What do you want me to do? Can’t even play games in my own home anymore… People gotta figure this out. How come nobody bugs Jude? She does the same shit that I do, and she’s easier on the eyes.”

“Good question. One sec.” Instinctively, Eve pulled out her phone and dialed her babies’ daddy. “Truth be told, I didn’t think I’d get this far… I was going to wing it, but my son is being rather difficult, which makes this an awful and hard challenge. But, you know who might have an answer?” The ringback tone resonated throughout the room. “Your best friend.”

“You really are the worst person. You know that, right?” Jericho protested, glancing briefly at the still paused screen. First, she came to is house, and ruined his morning, then she called Ty? This would surely ruin his morning too.

The phone was answered, though it didn’t draw a verbal answer — instead, the first sound that came from Ty’s side of the line was a kiss.

Fucking Ty. Forgot he actually likes her.

Then Ty’s voice came. “Hey, baby girl. What’s up?”

“Hey, handsome…” Eve didn’t like being lovey dovey in front of people, especially not Jericho. That judgy bitch. “I’m currently at JJ’s house. I want him to do something grand for our son and daughter, for their big bash this year, I just don’t know what! Do you have any ideas? JJ is here and he can hear you. Also, little Ty.”

“Oh no wayyyy! Mini-me!”

“Big-me!”

“The one and only. Anywayyyy, gimme a second.” There was the sound of Ty taking a drink of something, and smacking his lips. Needs salt. What? ...it’s dish water? Whatever, still needs salt. Because I don’t look before I do things! I’m taking a phone call, go bug your wife.” Ty said, before he returned to the phone, “Sorry, Wolfe is here and I was taste testing some stuff and apparently I just drank dishwater so that happened.”

“...would you recommend the dishwater?”

“With salt. Anyway, the answer is movies, duh. Go to the island in the center of Henry’s little river thing for his water dogs, and setup a movie there. They both like movies — and they don’t really agree on most things. Other than that? Well, Henry likes to sleep… I’d say getting him a new bed could go a long way — he’s been sleeping on the same one since he was like 12…. He’s probably outgrown it; so there’s that gift. Simple, thoughtful, effective. What else have I noticed? Oh, Henry loves fireworks, see if you can get permits for a fireworks display, he’ll love that. Henry likes midriff, so just put that girl he’s always hanging out with in a lowcut or croptop. Henry likes strobe lights it’s the… medication, and Cyndi likes don’t tell Alyssa I phrased it this way to be on display. So what you do is set-up a stage with a strobe like and let Henry play with it while Cyndi performs for her friends and family. Don’t worry about Cyndi’s gift, I know what to get her. Well, I guess we could get her something physical too… You want my advice? Maybe don’t do it at the castle. Maybe do it at Disney. I dunno. That’s what I got.”

Taking mental notes at her… boyfriend’s words…. Eve listened in silence. Okay, she got it. “I’ll ask my brother to design an outfit for Min, that is one of a kind and just for her. I’ll take her out to choose Henry’s new bed. JJ, I want you to transform— "

“Ahem, JJ, please.”

...Please. Eve lightly hissed, before continuing, “— The castle into a grand theater, but we’ll have fireworks and Cyndi performing at Disney. I’ll reserve the entire park for her and her friends. Henry can stay behind with Min. I think we’ll keep this close knit, so I’ll look into Henry’s immediate friends, aside from Parker and Min. For now, he will continue believing he is having a huge surprise party.”

“He’s going to hate that. But I guess he hates everything we do. Can’t win. Okay, I have to go entertain guests! Are we still doing… y’know what on Sunday?” She knew what.

“That’s gross!”

“I’m being coy!”

“...we’ll talk later. Say hi to the Kingsleys for me.” Eve was glad she called Ty. Things were figured out a lot faster than she thought they would be. He, to her, was a wonderful father and she did love him, along with her wife. Their relationship was an odd one.

“I’m sure they’ll be by there. But okay, will do. Bye, honey. Love you.”

“I love you too!” The little guy was all too happy to intercept the offered love and claim it as his own, which was met with a chuckle from Ty.

“Well… not you, but it doesn’t matter. Eve wouldn’t say it aloud and would text it to me anyway so she doesn’t have to say it in front of Jericho and risk embarrassing herself.” With that, there was another kiss from Ty and then the click of a line gone dead.

“HA.”

Eve didn’t say anything. Her face which was usually pale and white showed faint pink in her cheeks. “Okay, now that we have that settled. I’ll leave you alone now.” She picked herself up.

“Yeah, yeah. I got a boss to beat.” Jericho finally picked his controller back up and unpaused the game, leaning forward to focus on the TV screen, with the little guy doing the same.

With that, Eve made her way to her shoes, where she looked down toward her friend and indeed texted Mr. Locke with exactly what he expected. Affection and love.

Collab with @Hey Im Jordan
Thursday afternoon, Evelyn Green & her son, Henry Green

Henry, for the first time in a while, wasn’t with Min-seo. Min-seo was, instead, in the room — taking a nap or something. He wasn’t too concerned, and it was half his fault anyway. They were in the middle of the somewhat arduous and monumental task of cleaning his room, and she needed a break somewhere between him cleaning under the bed, and taking the full trash can out of the umpteenth time. Henry, being a Green, didn’t much care for ‘naps.’ Now, he was also a Locke — so sleeping was all good. Naps? Naps weren’t for him. He gave Min-seo a kiss, and said he was gonna go play with Benedict and Arnold.

So that’s exactly what he was doing. Together with his two trusty water dogs, Henry was floating around the river habitat they had. Covering his eyes from the pesky Californian sun was a pair of sunglasses, and he had a drink in his hand — non-alcoholic. Min-seo didn’t want him to come back to the room sloshed, and he could see the reasoning, she’d agreed to her terms.

From the speaker system surrounding the habitat, soft music played. Loud enough that Henry could bob his head, but soft enough that it didn’t bother Benedict and Arnold. Henry, in short, was sunbathing and relaxing. Nothing could ruin his vibe, y’know, except for a few very specific things that surely wouldn’t be happening.

His dark haired mother, the one that was the liaison between him and his other mother, dressed in a gorgeous, red floral dress walked out the sliding patio doors, barefoot, searching for, well, her son. There were a couple of places she could list where he would be. The first place was not right, because she found a sleeping Asian beauty but no Henry. The second place, though? She was right. Walking with feathery light steps, Evelyn made her way to the river habitat and knelt down by the edge watching her son float with his water dogs. “Henry.” The songstress spoke loud enough for him to hear her, but soft enough so her voice didn’t overpower the music. Patiently, she waited for his response. Patience was important when you had a child like Henry.

Oh hell, that was on the very few specific things. Henry adjusted his sunglasses, and did not at first address his mother, instead he put his hand in the water and began paddling. “Ah, hell. Paddle away, boys!” Neither Benedict nor Arnold seemed to understand, though they sped up alongside him regardless. It was probably a game, or something! It didn’t take him long, before Henry realized that he wasn’t going anywhere except circles paddling with one hand. With a sigh, he paddled himself in a half circle so that he was facing Evelyn, and took a sip from the vanilla Dr. Pepper, keeping his sunglasses in place. “Evelyn.”

“Are we to become accustomed to Parker living here? You know that is a battle, for me, on it’s own.” Eve leaned forward, tracing her fingers on the water. “I adore your friend, but how do her parents feel about her always being here?”

So that’s what this was about. Henry couldn’t do nothing! Not even in the sanctity of his own home. “Yes. Parker’s parents aren’t around, and she was living in a tent in the backyard, surviving off of Lucky Charms marshmallows and juice boxes. What would you honestly have me do? I don’t know who her mother is, but you should find her and have your wife pay her off. Parker deserves better than that. If that means I have to move her in and start taking care of her all the time, then whatever. I don’t care.” He flipped the aviator lenses up and squinted at her, sipping from his soda again, “I’m not letting her go back.”

“That can be arranged. Would you like me to get child services involved? We could find her a good home.” Eve had a feeling how her son would react, but she waited. Another battle ahead of her.

“No way, dude. C.P.S. would fuck the whole thing up, I did some Google-fu, and they’d relocate her. You can’t relocate Parker. She needs to be here.” Another sip from the Dr. Pepper, and the aviators came back down, “‘sides, this is a good home. She’s happy.”

Changing her position, Eve sat down and put her feet in the river. She didn’t respond right away. Instead she watched him with those cold, yet loving, eyes. After a moment of silence, she addressed the issue, “Before adoption becomes a liable option, we would first need to strip her guardians of ownership. Would you like us to adopt her?” Eve didn’t realize this, but naturally, she always wanted to spoil her son.

“Either you or Hailey’s butler. She likes him.” Henry could understand why; that asshole bought her a fucking kitten. He tilted his head back and took another sip from the Dr. Pepper, before he realized it was empty. Making a face, he stuffed it in the cupholder of his pool mattress, and shrugged. “She just needs to not be where she was. I don't care how. I got her this far. She’s one of my best friends, and I can’t let her just live a shitty, dirty life. Now she’s at least taking baths and eating real food and not living in a tent or anything. I’ll ask Mother myself if I have to. But we all know how that story goes.”

“I’ll take care of it.” Henry needed to focus on high school, and if Parker’s livelihood was important to him, Eve would make sure she was okay, for him. Any consequences and punishments would be handled accordingly. Henry wouldn’t have to worry about a thing. That’s what mothers were for.

Henry. Henry was her only son, so of course, she would make sure that nothing got in the way of his happiness. Including her wife. The option of James adopting Parker didn’t sound like a bad idea and may be a good compromise with her wife. She’d have to talk to him some time soon… “And Min, how are things with her? If we didn’t have such a large house, your mother would probably have a noise complaint.” Luckily they did, and the children were down a different wing in the castle.

Henry flipped the aviators up, and squinted again, “Things with Min are fine, why?” Now what was she going to do? Yell at him for dating the younger, attractive, Asian, foreign exchange student? LET HIM LIVE HIS LIFE. “She’s doing okay. Made a friend. Loud blonde girl.”

“The doctor’s daughter. I know of her.” Swaying her legs, letting her feet feel the brisk water, Eve gave her son a gentle smile, “Believe it or not, Alyssa approves.” A first. Alyssa rarely approved of anything their son did. However, there was change in Henry that all the parents started to notice and no one could argue about that. Min was a good influence on him and actually helped give Eve a break. In the course of two weeks, she didn’t have to do much convincing, minus his birthday party. It was like pulling teeth when it came to planning his parties.

“Wait, what? How does she even know?! I intentionally didn’t tell you guys.” Who ratted them out!? Was it Hailey’s Butler? It had to be, Henry’s was still on vacation... She’d come back, one day. It didn’t matter, because a horror was dawning on Henry. “Oh no. She’s going to talk to Min-seo.”

“Mother’s intuition, and… social media. You didn’t have to tell us. And I think her being in your room every night is a HUGE sign that says: me and Min are an item. So far, she is your longest record. I haven’t seen any other girls around.” He was right. Alyssa would talk to Min. Most definitely. “You don’t even mention Ilyana anymore.”

“Min makes me happy, satisfies my urges, and like… once you see her in a crop top you’ll understand — wait, why are we having this conversation!? You’re missing the point. Alyssa is going to eat my girlfriend alive!” It was a fair fear to have. His mother could be… something, to say the least. “She’s gonna make her hate me and then send her back to South Korea, dude.”

“Girlfriend, huh?” The smile on Eve’s face widened. Today marked a monumental moment. Her son was finally taken.

“Ya, why don’t you go pick on Hailey and her girlfriend and leave my ass alone?”

This was news to Eve’s ears. “Hailey has a girlfriend? Why hasn’t she told her father? She tells her father everything.” Eve kicked water at her son. “That ass belongs to me until you leave the nest. I can pick on you if I want.”

“Tell Min that line. Yo, Nero told me that you’re throwing me a party. Let me just say… that sounds terrible.” The aviator lenses came back up, and he stared across the way at Evelyn with squinted eyes. “I decline.” Henry had a specific way of speaking to his mothers; they were much more business orientated than he was, and he got around things better this way.

“I decline your decline.” Eve teased. It was far too late to change her plans. She already spent a pretty penny on both him and Cyndi, and already convinced Jericho to help her with making it extremely high tech.

“I have plans already.”

“Well change your plans, or I will for you.” This was the first year Eve had the ability to make his and Cyndi’s birthday party more about him. He wasn’t going to take this away from her.

“I see you intend to go out of your way to make me as unhappy as possible. I commend your efforts, and will offer you one hour of my time on that, the day of my birthday. I was going to lay in bed with Min-seo and listen to dream pop.”

“You do know having a double bash is vital to making your big 18 and Cyndi’s big 16 the party of the century. If it was just for Cyndi, no one but family would be there and this is literally the first year I can do what I want for you. So, you can have your cuddles with your girlfriend any other time. Just give me this night.”

“You missed the party of the century, it was on a boat. The number two was at Damian’s beach house. Turning eighteen isn’t that big of a deal, and the idea of a sweet sixteen is only for girls and pushed by makeup companies when it also isn’t that important. I can make people come without involving me. I’ll go, but I want the house in Colorado.” He pulled the sunglasses off, and folded his arms over his chest. “To keep. Fully. In my name. Mine. And I want Hailey’s key taken away, so I can laugh at her.”

“Okay, that’s a bit harsh I guess. I did have a moment with her. She can keep the key. I really don’t want to do this, I don’t really dig birthday parties, and you’re like… old so it’ll probably be lame.”

“‘Cuse me. Have you forgotten I’m a goddamn rockstar?” Eve crossed her arms, almost offended. Her informal speaking slipping out. Her son was downright rude to her.

“Yeah, yeah. Shit has changed since you were a rockstar. That was a long ass time ago. Why do we even have the same birthday!? That is a wicked coincidence.” Henry protested, paddling with both hands toward the shore. He had to get back to cleaning, before wifey woke up.

“Birthday sex.” Was all Eve said in response. Ty liked sex and his birthday meant a lot of it. Sometimes his birthday happened throughout the course of a week. He just so happened to knock Eve up twice around the same time. Cyndi, however, came two weeks earlier than her due date.

“Nigga that is gross!” Henry protested as he beached his floatation device, with Benedict and Arnold coming up behind him. Henry flicked the shades open and put them back on as he walked by him, followed by the trotting water dogs. “Colorado ski lodge, or no deal. Alyssa can buy another one for herself, the rich motherfucker. Now, I gotta go clean my room.”

“Fine, deal. But don’t use a blatant lie to convince me to agree to you. We all know you don’t clean.” Eve’s dark gaze followed her son wherever he went. She stood sitting down, enjoying the water.

“Min’s orders! Said she wouldn’t sleep in my room if we’re going to, and I quote, ‘wallow in filth.’ So I’m cleaning.” Henry said, as he continued walking back toward the house. Why was it so hard to believe that he was cleaning?!

Because it was. Leaning back, laying down on the ground, Eve cloud gazed and bid her son adieu, “Have fun.” Min was a good girl. She too approved.

A @smarty0114 & @Hey Im Jordan collab
Featuring: Scott Lyon and Katie Callaghan
With Special Guest: Mr. Lyon
Location: Mulholland Drive -> Scott’s House -> Funkytown

Katie smiled up at the stars. Scott’s arm was around her and the stars were beautiful and everything about this moment felt impossibly right. “I can’t believe this is happening. I mean, two days ago you said we shouldn’t even talk and now…” Katie laughed and shook her head. “What made you even text me anyways?”

Scott wished that she didn’t ask that question. The last thing he wanted to do while snuggling on the hood of his car with the girl of his dreams (literally, in this case) was talk about his crazy father. He didn’t have a choice though, if simply because their new relationship dynamic required honesty and clear communication. It could very well be a slippery slope, and it was best to be careful.

So, Scott would talk about his crazy father. “Well… After that happened, I was kind of laying on the couch and moping around I guess. So, my dad sort of flipped the couch over and yelled at me? Then, he kicked me out and said I couldn’t come back unless I told you how I feel and came back with you. So I’ve been staying at AJ’s since.” There, honesty.

Katie sat up, a perplexed look on her face. “I’m sorry, your dad kicked you out? Until you asked me out? That’s a joke right?” Katie asked, her now raised voice piercing through the soft silence they’d built.

“No, not really. His exact words were ‘come back with the blonde bombshell, or don't come back at all.’ I called you a blonde bombshell.” Scott explained, shrugging his shoulders. To him, that was basically the end of it. “My dad is just kind of a dick. It's how he operates. It's not a big deal.” Mostly true.

“Holy shit!” Katie slid off the hood of the car and stomped her way to the passenger side door. “Get in the car.” she said sternly. She was on a warpath now, and nobody, not even Scott, was getting her off of it.

“Uh…” Scott watched the fire light up in Katie’s eyes, and decided not to even bother fighting it. Why should he? If what they had spent the last thirty minutes doing was any indication, then Scott and Katie were very much a team now, and if she was upset, then whatever. He’d just help her if he needed to. For now though, he just got in driver’s side, “why are we angry?”

“I’m angry because some dumb man that I have never met is treating me like I’m some sort of quest item! I am not a fucking relic to be retrieved by you! I am a human fucking being! FuckingkickingyououtbecauseIwouldn’tgooutwithyou Did he ever think that maybe I just didn’t like you! I mean, I did, but that is so besides the point!” Katie shouted, as Scott began pulling out of their spot, and back onto the road.

“You gotta understand, this is just kinda how my dad operates… He’s sort of a dick.” Scott explained, shifting gears in the car as they headed back down the mountain. “He also has a way with words. So be warned that he might call you names, if you’re gonna yell at him.” It was fair to say that Scott sounded nervous, and reasonably so! His brand new girlfriend was about to verbally spar with his dad, who was known to say things there were very much not politically correct, while Katie was… Well, Scott didn’t want to be rude, but Katie was something of an activist.

This was going to go poorly.

“I’llshowyouawaywithwords” Katie muttered, practically incoherent. She was seething. The drive to Scott’s house was quick, and quiet. As Scott pulled up, Katie hopped out of the car, barely even letting Scott throw it in park. By the time he was out, she had marched up to his front door and was pounding on it rapidly and forcefully, her blonde hair whipping about like a storm of yellow.

“This is a bad idea.” Scott mused to himself as he opened his door and walked up to Katie, perhaps two steps too slow as the door flew open to reveal his father, who stood there silently for a brief moment, before he nodded.

“You must be that Katie woman he’s always complaining about. I see my son grew a pair. Shame. I was hoping to turn his room into a pool hall.”

Katie looked up at the imposing figure that was Scott Lyon’s father and let forth a typhoon of pure, unadulterated, Callaghan fury. “Who the fuck do you think you are? Telling your fucking son to go fetch me, or move out? Do I look like a fucking trophy to you? Do you see these?” Katie paused to point at her chest before continuing, “And think, oh look just another object? I have agency over myself, and my body you sexist piece of shit! Nevermind the fact that you just kicked your own kid out for not meeting your own standard of toxic masculinity! Men are not conquerors they do not have to fuck girls to earn respect! Your kid is a fucking genius, and he is kind and deeply annoying and he talks way too much about cars and you should like him just as much as I do!” Katie sat in the aftermath of her tidal wave of words, breathing heavy. “And just in case I didn’t say it already, fuck you!”

Scott’s father stood there, watching with a bemused look on his face, leaning against the doorway. One she finished, he first looked past her, and to Scott with a simple statement. “I like her.” Scott sort of nodded, before Mr. Lyon re-affixed his gaze onto Kaite, “Scott’s done nothing but bitch and moan about you for almost two years now, and then he comes home one night and lays on the couch watching bad Netflix comedy specials.”

At this point, Scott wanted to speak up: Dave Chappelle was a classic, and his old stuff did not suck. But, he thought better of it.

“I shake my head, figuring he’s just being a pussy about something and that it’ll fade away within a couple of hours. But it didn’t. He just fucking laid there for like twelve fucking hours, and I didn’t raise a fucking pussy. So I flipped the couch over and motivated his ass, and clearly it went well. You’re welcome.”

Katie glared at Scott’s dad, her lips pursed and her teeth grinding together, not completely sure how to react to this development. “You sound like a prick,” Katie said tersely, crossing her arms and cocking an eyebrow, and then turning to Scott. “Lead the way,” she said, unfolding her arms to gesture towards the front door.

Scott gave a bit of a nod to Katie before he walked past her and grabbed her hand, pulling her along past his father and into the house. From behind them, his father added one last quip:

“I am a prick, bitch.”

But if he said anything past that, it wasn’t audible. Scott was hurrying along the winding corridors of the mega mansion with speed and purpose. Once he arrived at his room, he turned the doorknob and threw it open to reveal a… surprisingly clean and well-kept room, with the centerpiece being a very large bed with the blankets and sheets tucked tightly underneath it. Scott pushed the door shut behind him and clicked the lock.

“You’re so fucking hot.” Scott’s sentence ended with his arms around Katie and his lips pressed against her. The purpose of why he was hurrying was very suddenly abundantly clear.

Katie smiled and returned the kiss. After a few moments of making out, an activity that Katie had recently (as in, within the last few hours) decided that she liked quite a bit, she pulled back, grinning. “Does it not strike you as a little weird that me lighting up your dad gets you in the mood?” Katie asked, smirking.

“It is a combination of that, the taste of your lip gloss, and the fact that I have you alone in my room with the door locked. This might not happen again for some time. We already wasted like years hating each other… let’s not waste seconds when we like each other.”

“Those are all very valid reasons,” Katie said, leaning in for another kiss before leading him to his bed, for some time that was decidedly not wasted.

Bailee & AJ
Collab with @Lovely Complex

Flashback: Morning after party
Location: Upstairs, still on boat, in one of the Bedrooms.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

No good came from women like Cecily. Any Helmsley woman for that matter was bad news bears. And the thing was? Most of them AJ considered friends. Here he was, on a stage (metaphorically speaking), where he felt he had no control over himself. A puppet to devious, little things that liked to play with power. One including his ex, if only Jamie knew the control he still had over AJ.

Having used the shower in their personal bathroom on the boat, the gearhead came out of the steaming room rubbing a white towel on his unruly swirls that was his fluff of hair. Still shirtless, but at least now he had his jeans on from last night.

“Bailee, wake up.” He let the towel rest on his head, as he approached the girl still knocked out cold. Note to self, build tolerance. Nudging her shoulder, he tried to peacefully wake the sleeping beauty up. However, Tylers were more often than not impatient people, so this led to him pulling her pillow from under her head and hitting her face, “RISE AND SHINE, BABE.”

There were two words you would never hear in a single sentence: Bailee and hungover. The noun and the adjective were not meant to be placed next to each other- it was both grammatical nonsense and real life error. And yet, here the Hemsley Heiress was, hungover beyond belief and feeling absolutely dreadful. AJ’s loud and forceful voice rang clear through her buzzing ears, and the pillow to the face was not only a wake up call, but an unnecessary reminder of how much pain she was in.

Bailee’s limbs were so heavy, she felt as though they were made of lead; her muscles as sore and strained as they would be if she had run a five mile loop. Had she run around last night? She had no clue. Her head was another story, both pounding and light as air at the same time, still making her feel as though she was living in a drunk fantasy, but the presence of a headache very real and throbbing. With a delicate whimper she finally peeled open her eyes that had been sealed shut with drunk dreamless sleep, and attempted to look directly at AJ although the room was still spinning.

“I’m not your babe.” She grumbled, letting her eyes slide shut once again.

“That’s not what our school thinks…” AJ spoke under his breath, intentionally speaking loud enough so she would catch it. Grabbing the cup of water off the nightstand, he gestured for her to sit up and drink. If she looked at her phone, there was a voicemail from both her cousin, Cecily, and her mother, Adelaide. Patiently, he surveyed her reactions.

Bailee let AJ’s words turn like gears in her head until they clicked together. The school thinks? Shooting up into a seated position, she couldn’t possibly believe that her reputation preceded her before she even knew what is was. “What do you mean what our school thinks I-” The brunette may have sat up a little too fast. All of the sensations she had felt whilst lying down multiplied, and she could feel the wind being knocked out of her. Grimacing, she looked at AJ. “This is worse than the time I had mono. Way worse.”

Shrugging, AJ sat beside her and put the water in her hand, “I tried to limit you, but you don’t listen. Ever.” When the glass was no longer in his grasp, he ran his hand through his wild mane and chuckled, “Welcome back, Bailee. You’ll learn sooner or later that privacy is dead.” With that, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through everyone’s snapchat stories of the party, where people caught them spending the entire night together, which led to them going into a room. This room. He had a lot more to say, but he held his tongue. Reactions. He needed to see her reactions. If he was going to make this work, he had to make her believe that he wanted her.

The brunette had never had an out of body experience… that was until now. Bailee studied every single snapchat story in disbelief, having a hard time believing that the curly haired girl she was looking at was indeed herself. Bailee watched her drunk self intently, focusing on every single moment she was pressed up against the curly haired boy currently next to her with a scrutinizing eye. Fragments of the evening came back, but she mostly drew a blank, especially when she watched AJ throw her over his shoulder and carry her off into a room upstairs. Looking around, it clicked. Did they? Did she? Was it…. gone? Looking over at the boy she had known her whole life with shock in her eyes, the words tumbled out before she could form proper thoughts. “Why’d you bring me up here?”

“To put you to sleep.” AJ pointed at the half filled tea cup. “You better not be thinking I fucked you. I got class, Bails, and you’re a damn virgin.” The boy scoffed, coming across as offended that she’d think he’d take advantage of her.

“No, no, not at all-” She stammered.

“Well, not saying I haven’t, well, y’know. You’re a good looking girl, but totally out of my league.” He nervously laughed to himself.

Bailee did a double take at AJ’s words. Did he just call her good looking? And say she was out of his league? This was one of her best friends from childhood talking here, not just anyone. Mind boggled, she asked a clarifying question. “Wait, wait, wait, hold on...you’ve thought about it before?”

With his charming smile plastered on his face, his gaze softened while his stare never wavered from her face, “I saw an opportunity, before I got with Jamie. Didn’t take it. And then you left. So yeah, I’d say I thought about it.” Truth be told, this was not a lie, but he wasn’t crushing hard enough to stop her from leaving. His feelings for Jamie, though, unfurled like wildfire. Immediate chemistry and like magnets, they were drawn to each other. Part of him believes they still are… like magnets.

The words he spoke seemed to go in one ear and out the other, all except for the last four words he said. All Bailee could keep hearing in her head was I thought about it and that was all she needed to know. Out of all the people in this world, the last person she imagined herself being with was none other than AJ Tyler. She had never even thought about it before, that’s how obsolete of an idea it was. He was daring and edgy, and she was, well, business-y and clean cut. They knew how to argue like no one else- they were kind of like oil and water. “...oh.” Was all she could say, awkwardly and dumbfounded.

Rolling his eyes, disappointed at how obvious she was being, he got up from the bed and nonchalantly stretched, “It’s all good, I’ll just clear things up with the school and your family.” He reached for his button up shirt off the one seater.

“No wait, I mean- I didn’t mean it like that- I…” Bailee found herself searching for the right words to say. How else are you supposed to react when your best friend confesses they’d thought about being with you before? But before she could say anything else, another word stuck out like a sore thumb. “Wait, my family? What do you mean my family?” Looking around desperately for her phone, she found it plugged in on the nightstand filled with notifications, most notably, two voicemails from her mother and Cece.

“Oh god.”

“Y’know what? I’ll leave you to it. It’s almost time for us to bounce, anyways. When you’re ready, I’ll be outside. You can tell me what you want to do after you’ve gathered your thoughts. For now, relax, shower, eat some fruit.” Grinning to her like the playful boy that he was, AJ leaned in close to her puzzled face, too close, and pushed her hair behind her right ear, “Whatever you decide, I’ll be down.” And so, he pulled back, turned on his heel, and made his exit, closing the door behind him. Taking a deep breath in, he whispered to himself, “Cece, this better be worth it.” Before walking away, while buttoning his shirt.

Chills ran up Bailee’s spine as AJ’s touch brushed her hair back, revealing her now flushed face. This was awkward. Extremely awkward, and she had no clue what to think. All of these things came out of absolute nowhere… or was she just too blind and self centered to have noticed? As the door closed behind him, Bailee tried to think back if there were any signs that her best friend could have felt this way towards her, but she was drawing up a blank. Deciding to flood her brain with hopefully some different information, she navigated her way to her voicemail box, clicking on Cece’s message and bringing the phone up to her ear to listen.

You slut, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me you were going to feast on AJ last night! Sure, we haven’t talked in weeks because I’ve been out and about, but still. As your favorite cousin, I desire to know the deets. How big is he? Did you give head, finally? I’ve always wondered if his ego matched what he has in his pants. Surely it must, if he got with you. The Helmsley with an iron chastity belt. Ha. Well, not anymore. How exciting. I’m so happy for you!

To make sure this doesn’t get misunderstood, since right now everyone is talking about you, thinking you’re a nasty and totally jealous that AJ is still on Jamie’s ass - yes, sweetums, I saw the video of you riding his ass when he shattered poor Marshall’s heart, so I did what any good samaritan would do.

I told Auntie! Please let me know how that goes. Okay, love you. Kiss. Kiss. Bye, lover!

The brunette tried with all of her might to prevent her jaw from hitting the floor, but alas, it didn’t work. Cece was certainly a piece of work, but this took it too far. Not many people knew that Bailee was still the virgin mary- but Cece was one of the few who did. Why her cousin assume that she gave it up so quickly? And to AJ of all people? Rolling her eyes at the end of the voicemail, Bailee clicked on the next name with a blue dot next to it… her darling mother.

Bailee’s mother’s voice was like a whispering meadow and if it could remind you of a character, it would be that of the alluring, prepossessing, and sensual Jessica Rabbit. She was not dark and evocative like Evelyn Green’s Glam noir and dark cabaret femme fatale stage presence, but she was a close second. If there was one thing that could describe the First Lady of the Helmsley enterprise, it would be sex. Complete, pure, and utter sex. From when she was a young maid cleaning for Christopher and Bianca Helmsley to now where she has found herself married with kids to the youngest Helmsley, Ryan Helmsley. The man of the hour who inherited the family business because his eldest brother, Joseph Helmsley-Lovelace, chose acting instead, as well as helping his wife’s hotel global brand expand (Hotel Millenium). No matter the season, she will be seen as a sultry, yet moral, beauty in media. A symbol of sex like Marilyn Monroe.

Bailee, please make sure AJ, as well as yourself, are available for brunch Sunday. I will forward you a time and place within the next hour unless you have a preference. Ultimately, this is for you. I’m pleased you’re finally enjoying being young. I was worried you had forgotten to be a teen. The business will always be here, you’re only seventeen for so long...I’m grateful AJ can help you with that. Good choice. Mommy approves and I’m sure daddy will approve too. Word of advice, please don’t mind whatever rumors are spreading around. You are a Helmsley, which means you are an unbreakable fortress. It isn’t worth investing time and energy with the wrong people. Oh goodness, Sierra’s demanding to go on her playdate. I’ll talk to you soon, Bunny. I love you! Okay, Monkey let’s go!

….BRUNCH?! The heiress couldn’t believe her ears at how excited her mom was regarding this arrangement. More excited than she had heard her sound in a long time. It was shocking, and Bailee partially didn’t want to hear it.

At the same time though, she listened to her mother’s words carefully and willingly. Enjoy being young.

Throwing her phone down on the bed, the familiar phrase was beginning to click in her mind. People had been telling her those three words since she was a child- when the brunette wanted to take the world by storm, everyone always said she needed to slow down and live in the moment. Bailee then recalled that the reason why she got so intoxicated in the first place was because she needed to remember she wasn’t an adult yet. Her sister had told her this, her brother had told her this, AJ had told her this. She still had mistakes to make and a life to live before she took over her father’s company- and maybe this hangover and this whole situation was finally helping her realize that.

With everything swirling together and beginning to resonate, one chord struck in her head. Did she miss the signs about AJ liking while she was so busy running the show? Bailee didn’t realize at all that he was interested in her… was that her own fault? She did truly care about him- she always had. But was this caring and compassion meant to be something more?

Well that she would soon find out for herself.

Clamoring out of bed and over to the door, she flung it open, poking her head out to find the curly haired boy not to far away from the staircase.

“Got any plans Sunday morning?”

The boy's lips curved into that sly smile of his as he glanced back at his new ‘girlfriend’ “None in particular. Why? What's up?”

A @smarty0114 & @Silent Observer collab
Featuring: Jamie Callaghan & Marshall Radley
Location: Myron’s Steakhouse

Myron’s was a steakhouse, built some forty years ago, that had served as many A-Listers as Denny’s had drug addicts. This was a Beverly Hills establishment, with a waitlist longer than the line outside of Walmart on Black Friday, and Jamie had gotten a table for two. After swearing him to secrecy, his mother was happy to help him get a spot, and she pulled some strings for him.

As Jamie’s car pulled in front of the valet, Jamie turned to Marshall, a look of concern on his face. “I hope this isn’t too much. It’s just, well, I wanted to prove that I was here, for whatever comes our way,” Jamie said, just like he’d rehearsed a million times in the shower earlier.

Marshall eagerly watched out the window as they pulled up to the window. Every aspect about this date night would be a surprise for the drama king, and he absolutely loved that. Surprises were so incredibly romantic. He bit at his lip when they arrived at Myron’s. He’d heard of it before, of course, but he’d never been there. “Isn’t this place for like… celebrities?” he whispered once they got out of the car and the valet took the keys. God, that was a gorgeous car…

“It’s definitely too much.” Marshall said with a slight grin. Too much was exactly what he wanted and needed, though. Jamie would come to find that Marshall loved being spoiled, and a spoiled Marshall would be very good for Jamie. Boldly, Marsh linked his arm in the crook of Jamie’s elbow as they walked to the front door.

Jamie grinned. “I mean, it’s not only for celebrities. Just, filthy rich people in general,” Jamie said as he held the door for Marshall, before following him into the entryway of the restaurant. He gave the host his name and a waiter sprung up with menus, and led them to a dimly lit table towards the center of the restaurant. Around the dining room, a myriad of celebrities and other well dressed one percenters ate and mingled.

“My mom knows the host, and he got her the reservation. It pays to have an A-Lister mom I guess,” Jamie said, chuckling as they took their seats.

“I guess it does.” Marshall responded lightly. He was distracted by the sights and sounds of the unfamiliar restaurant. It was so… insanely bougie. It was the kind of place he’d end up when he went out to dinner with the HOT girls. His eyes found Jamie again, sitting across from him with that intense stare he had. Butterflies stirred in his stomach at the realization that, holy crap, he was actually on a date here. It wasn’t until this very moment, both of them dressed to impress, sitting across from each other in the dim lighting, that the romance of it all hit him. Blushing a little, he met that intense gaze. “My mom is a realtor, so the bennies pretty much extend to our really nice house. But… I could get used to this.” He said with a smirk. Marshall could especially get used to this if he were to become an A-Lister himself. Dream big, right?

“I mean, you better if you plan on acting. You’re too good not to make it this big,” Jamie said with a grin. “Speaking of, don’t you have the talent show? How’s that going?”

Marshall’s blush darkened at the unexpected compliment. The talent show, though, that had slipped his mind given the recent shenanigans. “Oh, yeah…” He took a sip from the glass of water in front of him. It was sparkling, of course. “That’s going to be… a moment. Damian asked me to be his partner for a scene. I… have no idea what he has planned, honestly, but I’m flexible.” Very flexible. He set down his glass. “Are you going to be doing something for it?” Marsh wasn’t sure what a writer could do for something like that, but perhaps Jamie had some hidden talents he’d yet to discover.

Jamie chuckled from behind his menu and looked out at Marshall. “I am gonna have to pass. I don’t think I have any, performance worthy talent,” Jamie said. “Katie’s probably gonna sing for it though,” he added. Katie couldn’t help but perform. There was no way she’d miss this.

“So, have you talked with Ophelia? She hasn’t been at school since Tuesday,” Jamie said. Bringing up Ophelia was a risky move, but he knew Marshall probably wanted to talk about his best friend going and breaking up Trixie and Owen.

“No…” Marshall admitted sheepishly and looked away. He didn’t want to think of that tonight, even if he should be. “Let’s just… live in the moment. Here, with each other, okay?” For once, Marshall didn’t want to talk about something. A rarity. He picked up his menu and browsed. The menu didn’t even have prices, that’s how you knew this was some rich people shit. Who needs to see numbers when money isn’t an issue? “Do you… come here often? Any recommendations?” Everything sounded good to him, it was a steakhouse, and steak was one of his favorite foods.

Jamie grinned. “The filet mignon is really good, that’s what I’m getting. Katie always gets the New York strip,” Jamie suggested. “This is my mom and dad’s favorite place. After my mom got her first big paycheck, they came here. Now they like to take us all the time,” Jamie said, smiling.

Marshall scoffed. “You can’t get New York strip outside of New York…” The proud New York City native shook his head with a smirk. “Katie’s such a savage. I was thinking about filet mignon too, but surf and turf style, with scallops.” With that decision made, he set down his menu. Folding his hands in his lap, Marshall looked over the table at the appetizer, and dessert, sitting across from him. Smiling softly, he said, “That sounds precious. Your parents taking you guys to one of their happiest memories, I mean.” Or… just having parents that were still happy and in love enough to take you places together, even.

“Yeah we’re lucky like that. They work a lot, but they try really hard to make time for us all,” Jamie said. The conversation was interrupted by the waiter coming to take their orders, and then hurrying off. “Anyways, my mom’s off right now. No press tours or movies to film, which is nice. She starts filming for some new Green production in February,” Jamie explained after the waiter had left. “What was living in New York like? I’ve always dreamed about living there after high school,” Jamie said, punctuating his words with a sip from his glass.

At Jamie's words, Marshall's heart soared. He wanted to live in the City after school, too? Perfect! “Oh, it's amazing! I mean, I was young when I lived there, but I go back a lot visiting Dad after Christmas and stuff. It's different from LA in a lot of ways, like there's always something new to be doing, and there's a lot of culture and great food, Chinatown is fantastic. During the holidays, they have a huge tree in Times Square, and I've even gone to watch the ball drop in person on New Years. It’s usually freezing, but way worth it. Oh yeah, and there's all the seasons, have you ever seen snow? It's beautiful! Of course though, the big draw for me is Broadway. Seeing a Broadway production in the actual Broadway theater is an out of body experience for a theater nerd.” Marshall took a break from his swooning over NYC to take a sip of the hot tea the waiter had brought out for him. “I think you'd love it there. It's a great place for a journalist to live. Your name would look real good in The New York Times.”

Jamie’s pale skin flushed red at Marshall’s compliment. Now it was his turn to be embarrassed. “Maybe…” he said, getting lost for a moment. Truth be told, he wasn’t sure how much of a journalist he really was these days. He used to be so firm in that label, so strong in his conviction that writing was his passion, but after the last few days, and a lot of thinking, he wasn’t so sure. “Writing is hard,” Jamie somehow managing to sigh and laugh at the difficulty of the situation all at once. “It’s like, this great, big, darkness that you give everything too, everything, and sometimes it feels like it’s never going to pay off. I guess all art is like that in a sense,” Jamie said, shrugging his eyebrows as if he’d already come to terms with this thought.

Marshall reached his hand over the table and patted on Jamie's hand. It felt like the right thing to do. And then, also because it felt like the right thing to do, he laced his fingers together with Jamie's. “I think a lot of arts feel like that. But, some of best creative works begin in darkness, right? I mean… you're really good at it, at least.” He said comfortingly and smiled. Shortly after, the waiter came by with their meals.

Jamie squeezed Marshall’s hand gently, a form of his appreciation, before letting go to dig into his food. “Okay, you get to talk now,” Jamie said, smirking across the table at Marshall. “Favorite memory and the story behind it?”

“Just one? Geeze, that's hard to come up with… I think I'll give, like, a top three that come to mind.” Marshall responded, taking a moment to think of some of his favorite memories. He cut into his steak carefully and took a bite. “Oh my gosh… that's so good!” Marsh said in a whisper, his hand reaching up to cover his lips as he chewed the divine dinner.

“Okay, well, first to come to mind is Christmas last year. Marty and I had opened all our stuff, and Margie was home from school, and we were all hanging out enjoying some hot cocoa. Then my mom comes out with a small box and was like, ‘Oh, Marsh, I almost forgot this one.’ And she hands me the final gift of Christmas. I wasn't expecting anything grand, right, it was a tiny box… but inside, there was a car key! I freaked, and she explained that the key was just a blank, and it meant that we could go car shopping the next day - she correctly assumed I would want to pick it out myself, and custom color orders take a while, so she wanted to make sure I got it in time for my sixteenth birthday. And that's the memory of getting my beloved purple Mini…” Marshall took another bite of his meal, this time the scallops. They were equally as delicious - buttery and melted in your mouth.

“And then, a few years further back, there was our annual dadcation. Dad and his wife flew all us kids out to Spain for a few weeks in the summer. Spain was beautiful, but that wasn't the memorable part. The memorable part was that the drinking age is lower there, so Margie was able to sneakily get a few bottles of wine. And Dad foolishly booked us kids our own room, and that was the first night I ever got drunk. Oh my God… what a moment.” Marshall laughed at the memory. “So, in all our drunken revelry, my half-brothers decided we should go downstairs to the hot tubs, right? And on our way there, Marty stumbled and fell into the pool, naturally we all died of laughter, which attracted attention from the hotel guards. They brought us up to Dad, and wow, he was sooo mad, he even threatened to send us home. But, I think he did that all for show, I think he thought it was hilarious too. It was the most we've ever felt like a whole family.” Marshall explained with a happy nostalgic grin.

“And last would probably be becoming a Candy.” He had said he didn't want to bring her up, but here he was breaking his own rules. It was hard to think of good memories without Ophelia being at the center of them. “I know you think that Ophelia is a tart, and that us Candies worked against love…” He said looking down at his plate, recalling the scathing terms Jamie had used in his article. “But, that's not true. We would never do that. When Belle told us about the previous generation of Candies all those years ago, I fell in love with the idea of it. We vowed to be the next generation of Candies that day, a group bound together by love, friendship, and the desire to bring others happiness. We made the shipping wall, it's this huge wall in Feels’ room with pictures and string, where we try to match up potential couples from school and determine what would be needed to give them a push in the right direction. It's perfect fun for a hopeless romantic like me.” Marshall smiled and looked down again, a tinge of pink coloring his cheeks. “We’re on that wall, you know…”

Jamie grinned, nodded, and chewed as Marshall recounted his three favorite memories. These were the parts of him that Jamie wanted to see, the parts that made Marshall, Marshall. At his comment about their faces being up on the “shipping wall”, Jamie chuckled. “That doesn’t totally surprise me. Ophelia and Cassie aren’t my biggest fans, but when they came to talk to me the other day, they seemed pretty supportive of...us,” Jamie said, offering Marshall a supportive smile. Jamie was dead set on making sure politics stayed out of tonight. He could hear about the Candies and refrain from rolling his eyes, for Marshall.

“They came to talk to you?” Marsh responded, his eyebrows pulled together. That was news to him. “I can’t believe I got Candied, those little weasels!” He shook his head to relieve the slightly embarrassing thought of his friends going behind his back to boost his romantic life. He shouldn’t need help getting a boyfriend… “Well, at least it seems to have worked?” There was a hopeful lilt in his tone as he asked the question. “What about you? Tell me some happy Jamie memories.” Marshall requested before taking a few more bites of his meal.

Jamie took a sip from his water and mulled over Marshall’s question for a moment, sifting through his various memories for one that stood out. “Well, I guess for starters there’s the day my brothers were born. My mom went into labor in the middle of the night and when I woke up my aunt Audrey was there, just, sipping her coffee. So, whatever, we hang out, I’m like six or seven at this point so I hardly know what’s going on but after a little bit my dad called and he said we could come visit. Aunt Audrey packs Katie and I into her car, and takes us to the hospital, and we get lost trying to find the room, but finally, we’re there and my dad is a mess and my mom is worse but in her arms are these two babies and Katie and I just lose it. We were so excited, and my dad calmed us down and made us sit, and he said we could hold them if we chilled out. Well, of course we want to hold the babies, and so we sit completely still, and my dad hands me Will and he hands Katie, Matthew and I don’t know how to explain it exactly, but there was just this warm feeling. I was so small but I knew that I would do anything for those kids.”

Jamie took a bite from his steak and chewed slowly, savoring the flavor. “There was this one time, Selena and AJ and I after this party, we were at some party and after we left we drove around in AJ’s car, and we ended up hiking up into the hills, and we found this spot right in front of the Hollywood sign, and AJ brought out some weed and we hung out for hours just watching the stars and looking up at the sign. It felt so...so cinematic, y’know?”

Gushing over his younger siblings was quite possibly the most swoon-worthy thing Jamie had ever done. So much so that Marshall nearly dropped his fork, distracted by the loving sparkle in his date’s blue eyes. It almost made him jealous that he didn’t have younger siblings — at least not full blood ones, and certainly not ones that he was present for the birth of. So, not only was Jamie a family man, but he loved kids. This was surprising news, given that Jamie was mostly… well, kind of a cold person at school. This was a side of Jamie that Marshall could get used to seeing. Loving and warm. “You sound like a fantastic older brother. Also, that entire story was adorable.”

Jamie laughed. “That’s because I am a fantastic older brother.”

As Marsh finished up the last bites of his dinner, the conversation took an amusing turn. The first amusement, was that Jamie had apparently gotten high by choice in the past — this was something that Marshall wanted to experience first hand. It was only fair, since Jamie had witnessed Marshall high as a kite earlier this week. The second amusement was, “Wait… are you telling me that the silver princess takes off her crown long enough to go smoke doobies in the hills?” Marshall smirked and crossed his arms over his chest, hungry for this juicy piece of gossip about HOT’s trainee.

Jamie let out a laugh and shook his head. “God, she would probably kill me if she heard I told you this, but she may or may not have taken a few hits.” Jamie smirked and finished off his meal. “Selena isn’t as stuck up as everybody thinks. She can be fun,” Jamie said.

“I don’t doubt that.” Marshall replied genuinely. The same could be said for the rest of HOT, if people just took the time to get to know them.

“After I came out to her she made me come over and watch all these rom-coms with her, and she talked to me about boys and I don’t know, she just was there. She’s a good friend,” Jamie said, smiling. A moment later, the waiter arrived with the check, and Jamie pulled out his debit card and handed it to the worker, who hurried off again with a polite nod. “How’s the play coming along? Do you guys have anything picked out yet?” Jamie asked.

“Hah, mayybeee?” Marshall answered with a chuckle. “We were supposed to decide on it during out last drama club meeting, but that ended up being the hottest of messes. Damian showed up, because he got kicked off the football team and wanted to find a replacement hobby, I guess? I don’t know, but it triggered Shauna something fierce and she got super catty. It was amazing to watch, honestly. Very amusing. But… it caused a big distraction from actually making any solid decisions. I can give you a possible sneak peek, though — no putting it in the paper, because it’s not official — but Rose Powers showed up with an original script. So, we might actually do that. I think it would be really cool. I mean, what’s a better way to improve as actors than to become characters that have never been performed before? It’s exciting!”

“That’s cool!” Jamie said, smiling to show his encouragement. The waiter returned with Jamie’s card, and Jamie looked over at Marshall. “Are you ready for our next stop, Mr. Radley?”

Marshall arched an eyebrow. “Next stop?” he asked coyly. His mind whirled with possibilities. What could be next? He didn’t know there would be a next. Suddenly he found himself far more excited for something other than original scripts for plays. “Yes! Absolutely, Mr. Callaghan.”

Jamie stood up and once Marshall joined him, he took his hand. “Well then, let’s go.”

A @Silent Observer & @smarty0114 Collaboration
Featuring: Dixon & Noah & Lucas
Location: School → The Hardy-Piccoli Manor

TGIF. Yesterday’s research session had gone better than expected, and now, JD had a plan. He had… half of a plan. Fuck it, he had an idea, okay? The idea was that he was going to invite Noah over to his house tonight. It was a friday, which meant they could stay up late playing video games or watching movies or whatever they felt like doing. Katie thought that he and Noah would get along, and Dixon didn’t have too many friends that were close to his own age, so he really wanted to make it work. How exactly the night would go, and how he would apologize for yelling at Noah on Tuesday… well, he had yet to fully formulate that plan. Admitting fault wasn’t something that he was used to. There were a lot of things surrounding Noah that JD wasn’t used to.

Over breakfast, the green-haired boy informed his parents that he would be having a friend over tonight, and they didn’t really give two shits. All the more reason to get a couple of additional chinese take out entrees, which was always a good thing. Following this discussion, JD gave them the rundown to try to tone it down, because this was a new friend, and he seemed kind of like a normie, and the last thing JD wanted was for his freakish parents to scare him off. During lunch at school, Dixon had sat by Noah and asked if he wanted to hang out at his house after school. He agreed, more quickly than JD had expected. So now, it was just after the final bell ring, and it was about time to get on the bus. As promised, Dixon arrived by Noah’s locker to meet up. “Hey… you good?”

Noah was in fact, not good at all. He had no idea what had possessed him to agree to go over to JD’s house, but now he felt like his stomach was eating itself from nervousness. He was far too weird to be going over to people’s houses! He couldn’t play normal that long! He could hardly do it for the seven hours he was at school! Despite this personal turmoil, Noah put on a smile when JD came by his locker. “Yeah! Are you good?” Noah asked, his tone treading the line of playful and defensive.

Dixon raised his eyebrow curiously, which could not really be seen from behind the verdant curtain of emo fringe. What was that supposed to mean? He was just trying to ask Noah if he was ready to go. JD shrugged. “Yeah, I guess so. We’re gonna take the bus, ‘kay?” He didn’t wait for Noah’s answer, he just started walking. The bus was an intentional choice on his part, he needed to give Noah a pep talk about his parents… and he couldn’t do that if his parents were giving them a ride to his house. So… schoolbus it was.

“So… uh… before we get to my house, there’s something I have to tell you.” JD said cryptically as they took their seat on the bus.

Noah looked over at JD. “Are your parents like, vampires or something?” Noah grinned lightheartedly and awaited a response. Hopefully he hadn’t been right. Vampires were decidedly uncool. Although, vampirism might explain the hair…

“Is that going to be a problem?” Dixon responded in an entirely serious tone, meeting Noah’s eyes. After a few long, awkward moments of silence, he cracked up laughing. “Nah… not at this time of the year, at least.” Halloween, though? Now that was a whole damned production in the Piccoli household. “But… I mean, you’re kind of close to what I was getting at. Uh, do you know who my parents are?” It was possible that Katie had told him, and Dixon himself didn’t really keep it hidden. “Do you listen to emo music at all?”

Noah shrugged. Should he know who his parents were? “Like old emo? Like Fall Out Boy and stuff? I mean, yeah a bit,” Noah replied with nonchalance. “Why does that have anything to with your parents?”

“They’re both members of Deciduous Dreams. My mom’s the drummer and my dad’s the lead guitarist. It’s how they met.” Dixon explained nonchalantly, as if he didn’t just state that his parents were bonafide celebrities. “But… that’s not what I had to tell you, though, it might explain a bit…” JD mused and then shrugged. “Anyway, so, I’m sure you probably think I look a little weird, but… they’re weirder. Like, the whole house is a bit weird. It’s very… us, though. Just, try not to be intimidated by them, because they kind of like to fuck with people, and I have no idea what they’re going to do meeting a new person. I don’t really bring new people around that often.” This pep talk wasn’t really going as planned. JD was starting to feel like maybe he was making things worse.

Oh. They were just famous. That was normal. “Dude, weird is like, so normal. Plus, they’re famous, so they’re not weird, they’re eccentric. That’s what Katie’s mom says,” Noah said with a grin. Famous and weird? Better than JD thinking Noah was weird and wanting him gone. Much better.

“Yeah…” JD trailed off as he looked out the window of the bus, traversing the familiar streets towards his home. “Eccentric... we’ll go with that.” They chatted a little about music while they waited to get to their destination, which was a topic that a pair of emos could talk about for ages. Eventually, the bus came to a stop, not at a house, but by a gate. A huge wrought iron gate. Like a fucking cemetery or some shit. “So… this is it.” Dixon said as he stood up and the two of them shuffled off the bus. The gate had an ornate looking sign that read “The Hardy-Piccoli Manor” in old timey gothic script. There was a camera hidden in the stonework at the side of the gate, towards which JD held up a middle finger and stuck his tongue out. The facial recognition registered the face of the only Piccoli child, and the gates opened with an ominous creak.

“You’re into art, so you might think the house is kinda cool, actually.” The ‘house’ he mentioned, was more accurately described as a castle. A long cobblestone path, just barely wide enough for a single vehicle and lined with beautiful shrubbery and landscaping, ended at a circle in front an enormous stonework home. With gothic architecture and stained glass windows, it looked more like a grand old church, or something that you would see in a european history book, rather than a home in modern day southern california. “Before you ask, I swear, it has plumbing. And high speed internet. It only looks really old.”

Noah grinned, both at the friggin’ castle and at JD’s joke. How could he say that he was just happy that JD still wanted to talk to him after the events of Tuesday night? How could he describe the feeling that had engulfed him in the wake of that incident, that sense of drowning when your miles from water? “I like you, and so I’m sure I’ll like your house,” Noah said. “Like, I like you as a person. Not like...like like. Like you’re fun to hang out with,” Noah said, chuckling nervously, his face nearing crimson territory.

“Oh.” That… hurt? Why did that feel like it hurt? Noah had been blushing, so maybe didn't mean what he said. But why did Dixon care so much if he meant it? Worried that he was stumbling on this for too long, JD finally responded. “Yeah. Same, that’s why I, uh, invited you over.” He attempted a smile and kept walking down the path, his fists balled in the pockets of his black hoodie. They eventually made it to the front door, which was surprisingly easy to open for the size of it. JD kicked off his shoes at the entrance and looked over to Noah. “You want anything to drink? Or a snack?” He asked, leading the way to the kitchen. The main hallway of the home was decked out with gothic furnishings, candelabras with actual candles in them, and quite a few original paintings that were as eerie as they were valuable.

Noah took off his shoes and set them neatly next to JD’s before taking a moment to look around in awe. “I’m...good...are these original?” he asked, walking over to look at one of the many paintings that adorned the walls. “They’re like, wicked cool,” he said, all thoughts of his and JD’s tumultuous status thrown out by his instinctual need to examine art wherever he could.

“Hm?” Dixon replied in a quiet hum, turning around to look back at Noah. The boy had gotten distracted by one of the paintings in the hallway. That was no surprise, his parents hung some of their favorite — and most expensive — pieces in the main hall. It was also not a surprise, given Noah’s hobbies. “Oh, yeah, they all are. Mom and Dad are big into art, they pretty much get something shipped to the house everytime they go on tour to a new country. Some of it’s local, we go to art festivals and stuff sometimes. But, I think that one is from… France?” JD said before he continued his walk to the kitchen to get himself a glass of juice before they headed upstairs. “My favorite is up in the hall by my room, I’ll show you on the way.” He called out from the kitchen. His parents were… mysteriously quiet, and nowhere to be seen thus far.

Mention of JD’s room snapped Noah out of his art loving haze. Why was he so shocked? Did he think they’d be hanging out in the kitchen the entire time? He wasn’t quite sure what he’d been expecting, but bedroom? Not it. Bedrooms were private spaces, where you were the most you, at least in Noah’s opinion, and JD was letting him into his? “Lead the way,” Noah said, chuckling nervously.

“Well duh, I kinda have to lead the way.” Dixon said sarcastically as he returned to Noah in the hallway, a glass of dark red liquid in hand. It sort of looked exactly like a glass of blood, funnily enough, supporting Noah’s vampire theory. It was just cherry pomegranate juice though, JD’s absolute favorite. He smirked to show that he was, in fact, just kidding. Saying mean shit was in his blood, it’s how Piccoli’s show affection towards their friends and family. With that said, Dixon lead the way up a spiral staircase that has black and white marble slabs for steps, getting off at the second floor. There was a third floor above them, but it mostly went unused outside of the holidays, as it was for guests.

JD stopped in front of a painting. It was brighter than most of the other pieces in the manor, but the theme was still macabre. It was a skull, decorated with intricate designs in a rainbow of colors, surrounded by flowers and candles. “This is the one. My favorite. My parents brought it back from Mexico, they were there during Día de los Muertos a few years ago. Isn’t it awesome?” Dixon looked to his new artist friend for a critique. If Noah were to ask why it was his favorite, he probably wouldn’t be able to explain it. It just made him feel… something.

“Woah,” Noah said softly, his eyes trained on the artwork that hung in front of him. He loved it! The colors, the brushwork, everything about it was so beautiful! “I love it! It’s way better than anything I could do!” Noah said. “The designs on the skull are so detailed! This must’ve taken hours!” Noah took another look at the painting, admiring the time and effort that must have gone into it. He wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to sell something like that. How could you let something so beautiful out of your sight?

Dixon smiled at the positive review. Trusting Noah as a subject expert on the matter, this must mean that JD had good taste in art. After a few moments of quietly admiring his favorite painting, Dixon stepped away and headed towards his room. It was more than just a bedroom, it also boasted a large walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom. The bedroom itself was big enough to not only have a sleeping area with a queen size bed, but also a living area with a flat screen TV, multiple gaming systems, and a big comfy couch. There was also a corner of the room dedicated to all of his stringed instruments, displayed openly as if they themselves were art. The walls were a bright blue, at least what you could see of the walls through all of the band posters and music paraphernalia covering them, and the most notable accent color was black. There was a lot of black, and some gray, which was really just light black.

“So, what do you want to do? I’ve got tons of movies, or we could stream something if I don’t have it… and, of course, there are all kinds of video games.” He asked, dropping his backpack to the floor by his desk before going to sit on the couch. There was an excited meow from the chair in the corner, as Dixon’s gray and white cat woke up from a nap and arched its back. It was about to jump down and join Dixon on the couch when it identified the stranger in the room, and stopped to stare at him very intensely.

Noah stared down the cat for a moment, offering out a hand that the animal glanced at before hopping down from the couch, bored with Noah. The artist shrugged, and proceeded to look around the room, drinking up everything that was JD, before sitting down on the couch. The band posters, the furniture, the instruments, they all told him something different about this mysterious, radioactive boy. “You’re room is huge!” he exclaimed, his mouth forming an O of awe. “We can play a video game? I’m not very good though, just a warning,” Noah said, smirking.

“That’s fine, I’ll go easy on you.” JD said with a playful smile. He got up from the couch and went to fetch a pair of controllers. Whatever the last game he had been playing would be what they would play. It was probably some form of Call of Duty. He sat back down on the couch, and turned on the TV. Before actually starting the game, however, he looked over to Noah. Feeling incredibly nervous, Dixon subconsciously began to chew at his lip ring. Despite what Noah had said earlier about not ‘like’ liking him, JD remembered what Jareth had said about taking risks, and also about apologizing. “There’s… something I wanted to say first. I’m sorry I yelled at you the other night, when you… touched my hair. It’s just…” Fuck, this was hard. Dixon broke eye contact momentarily for the next part, “You can do it again, if you want. I promise I won’t yell.”

Sirens wailed in Noah’s head. Was this happening? What did that even mean? “You can do it again, if you want.” What? What? What? Blushing furiously, Noah looked down at the couch, unsure of what to do. After what felt like centuries of silence and sexual tension, Noah reached out and brushed JD’s hair out of his eyes, and brought his head up to meet them, his skin still crimson.

Dixon braced himself following his own invitation, remembering what had happened last time. Bracing himself didn’t work though, it only served to turn his stomach into one huge knot. It happened again, just like electricity was running through his skin. The hair on his arms rose up in goosebumps and shudders ran from the hair that Noah touched, all the way down his spine. He couldn’t yell again, he promised he wouldn’t, but he had to do something about this. It felt like he was going to explode. Without thinking it through, or even thinking at all, JD leaned forward and pressed his lips against Noah’s.

Oh... shit. Dixon’s head spun. This wasn’t his first kiss, but it felt like it. He’d never been so terrified before. Nothing scared Johnny Dixon, not until right this moment. He pulled his lips away fractionally, wondering if this was even okay. What if Noah was telling the truth and didn’t like him?

Noah blinked. Once. Twice. His mouth was frozen, lips parted as if JD’s were still pressed against them. His whole body tingled with the remnants of the kiss, the amazingly perfect first kiss. After a moment, Noah came to his senses, and saw JD, less than an inch from him, so close he could smell the intoxicating mixture of deodorant and body spray that had taunted him since he’d met this boy. Without any warning, Noah bridged the gap, locking his lips against JD’s, sending sparks throughout his body, turning him inside out.

Instinctively, JD dropped the controller he had been holding and instead brought his hand up to Noah’s neck to pull him closer. The other boy’s hands were still tangled in his hair, sending waves of desire and uncontrollable hormones through Dixon’s whole body. This felt so incredibly good, he didn’t want it to ever stop. Wrapped up in the passion and lust, JD didn’t hear them… footsteps coming up the stairs. He didn’t hear them until they were right outside his door. Like he’d been electrocuted, Dixon shot up from the couch, feeling himself lose a few strands of hair in untangling himself from Noah so quickly.

In the doorway stood a short, tattoo-covered punk of a man. Lucas had his mouth open to speak, but paused to take in this awkward scene. This strange boy, on his son’s couch. His son, standing up with very distinct sex hair. The TV being stuck on a game intro screen. Luke looked suspiciously from the strange “new friend”, over to Dixon, squinting knowingly. “Spawn. New friend.” He greeted curtly to both before turning his gaze entirely on his son. “Get your asses downstairs and pick out what chinese you want. Your mom’s being a cranky bitch because she’s hangry. Like, real bad, might turn into a praying mantis situation.”

Dixon, recovering from the shock of almost being caught in the act of kissing a boy, glared quizzically at his father. “A what?”

“Praying mantis’, kid. The chicks bite their mates’ heads off after they fuck, it’s totally metal.” Luke said with a chuckle and turned to head back downstairs, slapping the doorframe on his way out.

“Eww.” Dixon responded with a sigh. Well, that explained why his parents were nowhere to be found when they got there.

Noah stayed seated on the couch, blushing even more than he had been before. He had really almost been caught kissing JD, by JD’s fucking parents, who by the way, were vampires. Noah was sure of that after seeing his dad. Standing up after a moment, he remained silent, looking at JD with a look of pure mortification. He wished he were a praying mantis right now so something could bite his head off.

Now that his dad was gone, Dixon looked back at Noah for the first time since they kissed. “You lied.” Dixon said in a stern, accusatory manner. He then flicked his head so most of his hair flew back into place. Messy, but intentionally messy, just how he liked it. Letting go of the stern countenance, the corner of his mouth lifted up in a flirtatious smirk as he held a finger to his lips. The message was clear — pretend like this never happened.

A @smarty0114 & @Hey Im Jordan collab
Featuring: Ophelia Brycen & Cassie Clark
Location: The Brycen House, Thursday Night

The past twelve hours had been a mess. Thanks for that, Jamie. Since his story had broken this morning, chaos had been the theme of Cassie’s life. Everyone, everyone wanted to know if Cassie had know. Everyone wanted to know if it was true. What could Cassie tell them? That it was fake? A lie? Ophelia hadn’t told her a thing, about any of this, so how was she supposed to know how to react?

This brought her to the doorstep of one Ophelia Brycen, a copy of today’s article in her hand. She knew it was true, deep down. Jamie never lied. She just needed to hear it from Ophelia. Taking a deep breath, she pressed the doorbell, and listened to the deep sound of chiming bells that rang throughout the house, waiting for someone to open the door.

When the door opened, it wasn’t Ophelia that stood to answer Cassie, but instead Ophelia’s mother: Belle. “Oh. Hey, Cassie. She’s upstairs. Door is closed, but unlocked. She was upset, but we talked and she’s doing okay now.” She offered, before stepping out of the way for Cassandra to step inside if she pleased. Belle looked toward the sweeping staircase of the mansion she lived in with Ophelia and smiled, “Thank you for coming. Nobody else has.”

Cassie offered Belle a weak smile. “Oh, it’s no problem.” She didn’t quite know how to say that she wasn’t here to check on Ophie. Well, okay, she was, but that wasn’t her main reason for coming. She wanted answers. She was here to find out if her best friend was as heartless as she’d been made out to be.

Cassie gracefully ascended the stairs, and made her way to Ophelia’s room, a familiar walk. She didn’t stop to knock on the door, only steel herself for what was to come. Taking a deep breath, she walked into Ophelia’s room, shutting the door behind her. “You’ve been gone from school. People were starting to think you’d ran away,” Cassie said.

Ophelia was laying on the bed, dressed in her PJs, with damp hair splayed out around her on her pillow. Held up high into the air was a Batman comic (specifically the Long Halloween, rather than put it up, she’d just started reading it again). She didn’t at first turn to look at Cassie, instead just turning the page and asking a question. “Geeze, really? Where do they say I’ve gone?” She brought the book down to her chest, turning to look at Cassandra, “I just got busted in the face, and I didn’t want admin asking.” She explained, pointing at the shiner on her face.

Cassie’s eyes went wide. “What the fuck happened?” Cassie asked, dropping the newspaper on the floor. She didn’t quite know what to think about Ophelia at the moment, but she knew how Ophelia had treated her in the past. The Ophelia she knew, still deserved her sympathy. She just hoped after tonight, that was still the Ophelia she knew.

Ophelia pursed her lips and wondered for a second what she wanted to say about this. There were a few ways to frame things, but what was the right way? Honesty, probably. That was typically the ‘best policy.’ “Well, I don’t know how Jamie got all the details. Secondly, he kind of writes like a pretentious asshole. It wasn’t a very fair article to anyone?” She shook her head and sat up on the bed, carefully setting the book aside after marking her page. “I guess the reason you’re here is to know if it’s true or not? Well, it is. I did all of those things that Jamie said I did — after all, he never lies. He’s just a scumbag. I never swore anything, he embellished a lot of stuff, and… whatever. I’m just happy I told Trixie before he did.”

“Not that! Your face! What the fuck happened?” Cassie asked, concern and hints of fear flooding her tone.

“Huh?” Ophelia was stopped in her tracks by that — she thought that Cassie was here to talk about the business at hand, but… this was better! Genuine concern was a good thing. “Oh, uhm. Trixie punched me in the face. After I told her the thing.”

Cassie’s face fell. “Oh. Well...I’m not gonna say you didn’t deserve that,” Cassie said, crossing her arms. “Why the hell did you do it, O?” Cassie asked. She said a silent prayer that the answer might be something that she could justify, something she could accept and still sleep at night.

“I totally deserved it. Shit happens, I already forgive her.” Ophelia said, waving it off. She just didn’t want the administration team of the school being their (awful) selves and pushing for details and then possibly getting Trixie in trouble over it. “Why did I do it? Because, and a lot of people forget this, but Hailey Green is Grade A fucking crazy. She’s got issues, dude. And at the time, keep in mind, this was a while ago, she was really mad. You’ve never seen her mad before. Not that mad. I thought she was going to kill me. I still do?”

Cassie pursed her lips. Ophie was right. Cassie barely knew Hailey, really. They ran in the same circles, but for the most part she didn’t consider her a friend. Did that make it okay? No. It did mean that Cassie couldn’t really weigh in, or at the very least, it gave her a reason not to. “Okay. I guess. What you did was fucked, big time, but that’s between you and Trixie.” Cassie punctuated her words with a soft smile. “Europe was the winner. I think the rumor about you running away somewhere started with Quincy, but everybody had different ideas as to where. So at lunch, The Elite went around and took a poll. Europe was the winner,” Cassie explained smirking.

“Europe? I can go to way better places than Europe. Like, Korea. I like Korean girls. So too, do the Greens; apparently.” She shook her head, but she did have a smile on her lips. At least Cassie didn’t hate her! Marshall did. That sucked. Everyone else probably did... oh well, she could deal. “Plan is to come back by Monday? Maybe Friday? I dunno when the shiner will clear up. Once I get back there I have to confront that little prick for using mine, Owen’s, Trixie’s, and Hailey’s name as fucking clickbait because he craves attention and wasn’t getting enough. No friends havin’ motherfucker. Could have just let the issues be handled internally, but noooo.”

She sniffed the air. “Follow the drama like a hunting dog. A bad one, since he could probably get as many people excited writing about the other crap that happens.”

“If you want to stop being the Kardashians of BHHS, all you have to do is ask. I’m sure we can find some girl who wants to trade places,” Cassie teased. “If it makes you feel any better, I think Marshall already tore into Jamie. Someone heard them fighting in the newspaper room this morning.”

“Hey, look at that. He’s still fighting the good fight.” She rolled her eyes, “I been thinking. We should get involved in the newspaper, or the morning show or both! If the rest of the Candies are still down to do our thing, I mean. We could offer anonymous relationship advice in the paper, written by us collectively. Like how Brian does his little ‘Ask Brian’ thing. It’d just be ‘Ask the Candies.’ And then, for the show? I was thinking something like we could put the shipping wall, er... minus the parts about who we think should be together... and give everyone updates on the relationships of BHHS. We could have bright, pastel colored, matching outfits. It’d be cute.” She gave a bashful smile and a shake of her head, “sorry. There’s been a lot of time to think.”

Cassie grinned. “I like it! I won’t lie to you, the Candies could probably use a PR boost right about now,” Cassie said. “I’m glad you’re okay,” Cassie said, taking a step towards her friends bed and sitting down on the edge. She’d been unsure of where they’d stand at the end of this rendezvous, but Cassie knew now. She wanted to be by Ophelia’s side, even if it made her look bad. Cassie owed her that much.

“Yeah, I guess I look like shit right now, and as an extension… the friends look like shit. I figure if we start doing stuff in the public eye, it might help? I dunno. I’m also thinking about quitting the cheer team, or at least relinquishing my position as captain to Selena. Might as well. From what Hailey’s told me, Sel is going to be taking over. Or, at least, starting to. It doesn’t matter anymore. I can’t sit with them anymore.” Ophelia slowly, but carefully and sure of herself, rested her head against Cassie’s shoulder.

“Thank you.”

Cassie let her hand drift to Ophelia’s hair, softly stroking it. “It’s what I’m here for.”

Featuring: Connor Prince & Jackson Prince
Location: Jackson Prince’s Mansion, Friday Night

Jackson Prince’s backyard was a sight. The large mansion sat on a hill, overlooking the back of the property. From the patio, hardwood stairs descended towards a lush area of green, decorated with topiaries of multiple animals. Elephants, dolphins, horses, even a scorpion. The topiary jungle was next to a basketball court, full sized on a patch of asphalt, about thirty feet from a large, luxurious swimming pool.

Bright, fluorescent light illuminated the basketball court. The sun had just set, but already the air was already devoid of any warmth that the day had held, which was not much as is. On the court, Connor Prince was dribbling a dirty basketball, shirtless, with sweat pouring down his body, unbothered by the cold. Music blasted from his phone, which was lying on the ground next to his shirt, as he practiced his shooting.

“Hey kid” his Uncle Jack called from the patio, a glass of Diet Pepsi in his hand. The past week with his uncle had been uneventful. He rarely saw Jack, aside from breakfast and dinner, where they made polite small talk. Connor’s music was still blaring at full volume, so loud that Jack could hear it from his lofty vantage point. Taking a sip from his drink, he took the stairs down, and strolled over to the side of the court, and watched as Connor played.

Connor ignored Jack for a few minutes, before finally dropping the ball and stopping the music. “What do you want? You just gonna fucking watch me play?” Connor asked harshly, using his discarded shirt to wipe the sweat off of his face.

“I take it you found out about your dad’s announcement,” Jack asked, taking another drink from his glass, and staring across the court at his nephew, his face a hard mask of disinterest, as if this conversation were just mundane small talk between him and a colleague who’s name he’d already forgotten.

Connor grimaced at Jack’s words. “Of fucking course I did. It’s all anybody’s talking about. Timothy Prince, running for president. I hope he doesn’t even get past the fucking primaries,” Connor spat. He’d seen the news of his father’s candidacy this morning, and had spent the day fuming.

“He didn’t even fucking call! He didn’t ask me what I thought, didn’t even warn me! He hasn’t called once since he shipped me out here, and then he goes and runs for fucking president! Makes sense that he shipped me across the country though. He doesn’t want me tarnishing his race. Well if that’s what you came to talk to me about, you can fuck off. I don’t want anything to do with him or his stupid race.”

Jack let out a loud, heart laugh. “You think I give a rat’s ass about your dad’s race? I came out to see how your handling it, and from what I can tell, the answer is poorly,” Jack said.

“Why the fuck do you care?! Just leave me the fuck alone!” Connor screamed back in response. “I was alone in New York, I think I can be alone just fucking fine here,” Connor said, quieter but no less venomous.

Jack chuckled. “Look, Kid, I’m not gonna try and tell you how to deal with all this. I can tell you right now though, this isn’t it. You’re sitting here wallowing, and that’s only gonna lead you to more hurt,” Jack said. “He’s my brother, so trust me when I say, I know he can suck. Especially lately.” Jack sighed, and for a moment, Connor’s face softened.

“Whatever. I’ll be eighteen in two years, and then it won’t really matter, will it?”

Jack stood silent for a moment, before offering up his own advice. “There’s a movie night at Captain Cuddles. You should go. It won’t hurt for you to make some friends out here. If you won’t talk to me about any of this, you can at least talk to people your own age.”

Connor scoffed. “Yeah, I’ll pass,” Connor said, balling up his shirt and scooping up his ball, before making his way back towards the house.

“If you stay here, we’re gonna have to talk about the Helmsley party you lied about going to the other night,” Jack said, turning to face his nephew, daring him to push back. Connor glared back at him for a moment before muttering his response.

“Fine.”

Location: The McCarthy McMansion
Starring: Kate, Simon and Lee McCarthy

Friday morning in the McCarthy household, like every other day that preceded it was a day of routine or at least it was supposed to be. Kate was always the first one awake in the family. She’d be up at 5am, working on her latest deposition or prosecution and she’d do that for at least an hour before her husband and son would be up to go for their morning jog. By the time they returned breakfast would be on the table and then they’d go onto their individual days from there. That was the usual routine. It had pretty much been that way since the day Kate arrived from France. She had met Simon her first day at an American College and they had never looked back.

Today was different. Kate had gotten up first as always, or at least she thought. She could hear muffled voices from her sons bedroom, all but confirming in her mind her recent theory that Lee had found himself a new girlfriend. Opening her sons bedroom door but a crack, she peered in and watched as he danced around the room, obviously in a state of glee or post love glow. A smile crept across her lips. She knew those dances lessons she paid for would be worth it some day. The slight feeling of elation levelled out when Kate felt a large presence behind her, she glanced over her shoulder and recognised the mountain that was her husband. ”Bonjour mon mari”

”We need to talk about Leighton”

Simon McCarthy had made his bones on Wall Street. He had changed greed from a dirty word to a way of life. He had taken five hundred dollar investments and turned them into five hundred thousand dollar a month incomes. He was the best in the world at what he did. Wheeling, dealing and hustling was in his blood and he had used all of his considerable talents to build a life for his wife and son. The hand he had been dealt was a good one, if you looked at it from the outside. Simon though, he was not happy. Financially they were stable, emotionally, he and Kate were fine but Lee, they had to do something about it.

The problems had started a few years ago. Lee was on a hot streak on the football team; his sack per game ratio was off the charts and he was setting new records for the mathletes. It was a normal practice like any other, it was one of the few that Simon had decided to attend to see just how good his boy was. Lee had a straight path to yet another sack, he was mere inches away and then that was it, his legs gave out and he crashed to the floor. A slip up, nothing to worry about. Then the following week, a call from the school; Lee had forgotten how to multiply by seven. His hands would tremble during dinner and his gaze was vacant, something was seriously wrong. Huntington’s; his brain cells were dying, slowly. It was early, normally symptoms don’t show until later in life. There was no cure, it would kill the boy. How long? That depended on him. It was manageable with medication, at least for now. When a clinical trial testing new drugs was announced through the grapevine, Simon moved heaven and Earth to get his son enrolled into the program. He had been there for several months before appearing back on their doorstep recently.

Kate and Simon sat opposite each other at their dining table, furrowed brows and frowns. ”We need to do something about him. He’s out all night, doing god knows what and I guarantee he is putting shit in his body which is undoing all the work the doctors did for him in New York. Not to mention, we were paying a god damn fortune every week to keep him in that trial and he up and left. It’s like wants to die!”

”He’s a teenager, babe. He’s just being stubborn. Besides, we know he’s still doing his exercises and taking his medications. He’s just taking a break…”

”...Bullshit, Katheryn” Simon interrupted quite forcefully. ”We have invested so much into that boy and he’s pissing it away. He doesn’t care”

Kate took a sip from her cranberry juice and let out a great sigh through her nose. She knew her husband was right, they had raised a selfish boy; a boy obsessed with material things and whom, in spite neglects his true skills and talents in life. ”That might change, Simon. I think he might just find something worth fighting for. I’m positive he’s met a girl”

Mr Wall Street shook his head in disagreement. ”Don’t be so naive, sweetheart. Teenage romance isn’t built to last, betting on that is not a sound strategy”

”Stop looking at Lee likes he an investment, Simon. He’s a human being and humans, yes are a creatures that follow a pattern but do not apply your work strategies to our son. He might just surprise us, He’s just like you and you still surprise me”

The plan was very simple; after school Lee would hurry home change into his Friday best and Hyde who would be chauffeuring for the evening, would pick him up at seven and they’d be at Stella’s place by seven twenty and at the movie theatre by seven thirty three. The handsome hustler had the evening planned to a tee. Being raised by two people who lived their lives by clockwork was both a blessing and a curse. Yes it meant that Leightons life was incredibly regimented but it also meant that nobody could plan and have a field like he could. The plan was a simple one, after spending every night talking to Stella he realised that a fancy show of cash wasn’t the best way to approach her; the classic movie and dinner combination was his next move.

Heading downstairs, the prince of nothing charming was met by the steely glares of both of his parents. ”Wow, the three McCarthys in a room together. What is it Christmas?”

”Don’t get smart, Leighton. You’re not too old for me to put my foot up your ass” Simon reached under the table and put a vial on the countertop. ”Your mother and I have been talking and we’re not happy”

Kate looked her son up and down and shook her head. ”We’re not sure why you’re back here, mon fils. We payed a lot of money to get you into that trial. It may not seem like it but your health is our main priority. Which is why we’re going to be grounding you, no hanging around with that Hyde character or seeing this new girl of yours unless…” She motioned to the medication. ”We make ourselves a little deal”

Frustrated, Lee clenched his fists and took a step forward towards his parents. ”Mom I….”

Simon got to his feet and put his hand up in a halt signal. He may have been a businessman but you’d be blind not to see that Simon McCarthy was built like a damn grizzly bear. ”Mouth shut, Lee. You do not throw rocks at a man who's got a machine gun and right now I’m a damn battalion”

”If you really don’t want to go back to New York then here is our counter..” and it was this moment that Kate went straight into lawyer mode. ”Every morning, you do your exercises with your father and you take your Tetrabenazine with me. We get regular updates every few hours and you show us your memory logs. We won’t pry into your personal business but we need to know your safe. Do this and you get to finish your senior year at BHHS. You break any of these rules, your ass is going back to NY”

Deal or No Deal, Mr McCarthy?

Wednesday night Flashback

Wednesday was date night for the couple, just a night they set aside some time to spend some time together as they both could get busy during the week. KC especially had become busier during the week after her Miss Teen America win but she always made sure Wednesday was free or as free as she could get it. Unfortunately this week she had a short radio interview to conduct before the two could really enjoy their night together.

Mitch being the supportive boyfriend he was told her he would come and they could just leave from there for their plans, of course KC still felt bad though. Thus she got her grandma to make some of her famous cheesy potatoes for Mitch seeing as if KC even attempted it she would most likely burn the whole house down. When she gave him the potatoes she probably ensured him 100 times that she wasn’t the one who made them as he had already had the misfortune of trying her cooking once, the one time something of actual substance made it through the process.

The interview went by quickly, the questions for the most part the same as other interviews had been. The girl having to drive the interview herself in a direction she would prefer to talk about instead of simply all the makeup and clothing. KC silently thanked the lord that the swimsuit competition had been removed years prior. Though she enjoyed making the outfits for the competition she didn’t do the competition to be recognized for her looks, she did it to help bring a voice to the things that need a voice. Her monologue made that pretty clear. Yet many interviewers wanted to focus on the superficial parts of the competition, it just meant she had a lot of work to do.

Exiting the room and making her way over to where Mitch was she smiled at him, ready to spend the night with just him. The first thing on the agenda was paintball. Something Mitch had introduced KC to and she’d only really do with him. She enjoyed it but the one time she tried it on her own she got annoyed by guys trying to hit on her or calling her princess due to looking like she wasn’t fit for the activity. That is why she only did it with Mitch, showing up with him kept most people from saying anything to her. Also kept her from almost getting in fights with said people.

“Ready to go?”

Like clockwork. Every Wednesday, they went on a date. Every engagement she had, he kindly offered his support, sitting somewhere secluded with his hoodie on, as he played Candy Crush on his phone. Every time she felt bad, she gifted him. He understood his girlfriend like he understood the depths to cyberspace. She sucked at Chemistry, he easily helped her with that, even if it was a simple boost in her grade within the system. She had two distinct sides, a coin he could easily flip. The princess and the warrior. Beauty in one hand, strength in the other. She thrived in making a difference, speaking out when she thought she should, intervening when she probably shouldn’t, and dreaming big, because her dreams were what separated her from everyone else.

Glittering beads of sweat trickled down his face, Mitch Clark cursed this place that didn’t have their AC on. Fuck the windows being open. AC provided controlled temperatures. He waited, as usual, thinking about the thousand and one things he could be doing, then sitting in this lobby. Thinking about wanting a drink, wanting more food than these cheesy potatoes he finished the moment it was given to him, wanting to be on his supercomputer scanning the jungle of algorithms and hearing the glorious violent beating of his fingers against the keyboard and the spin of his CPU cooler fan. Bored, he was bored, but anything for his girlfriend of two years.

His dark hollow eyes glanced up from his phone, no sign of emotion for a good moment as they locked eyes. To extract the human in him took KC years to work on. That machine he could only control shifted into that one-of-a-kind cheshire grin, wide and open, his white teeth shining in the light, “More like, ready to get your ass kicked?” Standing up, he pocketed his phone and put his arm around her shoulder, starting to direct them to their destination, which was walking distance from this radio station. At least they had that going for them. He looked ahead, always straight ahead, never up to the sky, never down to his feet, always looking at what was in front of him and listening to the sounds around and behind him.

KC rolled her eyes at her boyfriend’s comment leaning into him as she let out a laugh, her arm naturally fitting around his waist. “It is so on! I'm finally gonna kick your ass!” she grinned, glancing up at him. Her competitive side showing fully. “So what are we putting on the table tonight? Nothing boring tonight like loser pays for dinner, I need more motivation to win.” Her chocolate eyes held a mischievous glimmer as she raised an eyebrow, curious to what he could come up with.

“Person who wins gets to pick how we fuck tonight.” Crude. As always. “If I win, we’re going back to your place and doing it on Jasmine’s bed. Just sayin. She will never know.” He could’ve done something ten times worse, like they could go full on exhibitionist, but doing it while most of her family was home was a good second.

KC shivered as she thought of everything that could go wrong, mainly Jasmine finding out. She needed to win, she’d like to live to at least 80. “Fine. If I win, I get to try tying you up this time.” She replied nonchalantly.

Shortly after, the couple arrived at the paintball building. Kiara let go of Mitch, leaving his side to pay and retrieve their gear. Within a few minutes she returned to her boyfriend’s side carry everything they needed for the night. “Ready to be dominated for the first time tonight?” Her lips contorted in a wide smirk as she held his gear out to him. From this point on until the game was over, they were enemies. This was war and KC was determined to be victorious.

“You wish, babe. Your ego is going to get so bruised. And y’know, it would suck if that pretty little face of your’s does too, Miss Teen USA.” He purposefully mocked her title because he hated pageant culture. He was allowed to tease. That was a privilege he had as boyfriend!

If there was one thing that he definitely could never get behind, it was how she thought she had to join a ‘pretty’ contest to get her message across. Whatever, he was the boyfriend so he had to support and if she believed he always had her back, things would always be good for them. That was the only way she’d give him any sex anyways. Happy girlfriend, happy life. Or however that saying goes.

Before she put any face gear on, he stole a kiss, biting her bottom lip before releasing her, “I never lose and I won’t lose tonight.” As stoic as he can be, when he was in playmode, his emotions took surface. KC was lucky to witness this more than anybody else he knew.

As always, her boyfriend knew how to tease her. The kiss he stole simply leaving her wanting more as she saw his emotions surface like they did in situations like this. That side of him that she knew better than most, seeing it, getting to experience it, it was more or less a turn on for her. KC loved both sides of her boyfriend, but this side really stole the show.

Biting the same lip Mitch had just bit, KC donned her face gear. The war was on.

The brunette exited the building with a slight pout, her arms crossed over her chest in defeat. She felt like she had been so much closer to winning that time but, of course, Mitch won in the end. KC wasn’t all that surprised by her loss, but it didn’t mean that her pride didn’t take a hit with each loss. She was competitive, whether against her boyfriend or a stranger she always went all in.

““I’m never gonna beat you at paintball am I?” KC questioned, turning to face Mitch.

“Damn right you’re never going to win!” The blonde grinned widely at his girl, with his egotistical self. “It’s okay, babe. Next time, I’ll go easy on you. Maybe then you’ll stand a chance.” Mitch was terrible at making her feel better after she lost, because well, he liked winning and he would shove it in her face until she can do the same right back. This was how things were and she either loved it or hated it. Depended on the day. Her hellcat always hated it. Her hellcat actually hated everything Mitch did. Cats sensed things and if there was one thing Momo sensed it was Mitch’s lack of empathy for just about everything that wasn’t him. Walking beside her, he rested his hands on his unruly hair, smiling to himself and leading the way to the car.

Rolling her eyes at her boyfriend’s typical egotistical self, she caught up to her boyfriend trying to keep up with his long strides. The beauty queen sometimes got bothered by his lack of empathy but she was pretty much used to it by this point in knowing him and dating him. There were definitely times where it had caused some slight problems between the two, times when all she wanted was even a little bit of empathy from her boyfriend. He had been improving in the moments when it was more of a critical need in their relationship and really that is all KC could ask for. She wasn’t going to expect him to change, but the fact he would try was enough for her.

“Go easy on me and I will have to kick your ass for real.” KC joked, although she would be slightly upset if he did go easy on her. He wouldn’t do that though. No matter what the two did, if it had any form of competition then they both went full out. A cheeky grin made its way onto the brunette’s face as they reached the car, she stopped and leaned against the door facing him.

“So we going to actually do things in the proper order? Or are we skipping dinner and going straight to dessert like last time? Maybe a taste of dessert before dinner?” KC hand toyed with one of the strings of his hoodie as she tugged on it slightly, beckoning him closer. Her eyes meeting his as she bit her bottom lip, the same lip he had bit prior to their game. The same one that had left her wanting more. She hadn’t forgotten that bit of teasing from earlier, nor his emotions coming to the surface. If there was one thing that turned the beauty queen on, it was seeing that rare side of her boyfriend. Maybe it had to do with the fact that when things got heated between the two, she also saw a bit of the same thing. Right now that isn’t what mattered though, Mitch was the only thing running through KC’s mind right now and she wasn’t gonna just leave where they were without something more than the teasing kiss from earlier.

A toxic way of life this was where sexual advances became their main language. Nothing was done by accident by these two lovers. Especially not Mitch, who did everything he wanted. He preferred lust to love. It kept things worth fighting for. A devious smirk graced his face as he stepped closer to her. Step by step. One foot in front of the other. With total disregard of his surroundings, he lifted her up, grabbing her by the waist, pulling her up close against his chest, while pressing her ass against the car window.

There’s a vulnerability in her eyes he couldn’t resist sometimes, especially when she wanted him so bad. No words were said back. Instead, he firmly pressed his lips against hers and let his tongue slip into her mouth. PDA at its finest and he didn’t care. Taking it to the next level, he let his fingers trail up her shirt… she asked, and so she received but not because it was for her. Oh no. He got far more pleasure out of this and if he felt like it, he could pull away and leave her disappointed. Mitch could move her and that was all that mattered.

A gasp of surprise escaped KC’s mouth as he suddenly lifted her up and pressed her against the car. She then grinned as she wrapped her legs around his waist to pull him physically closer, her lips and tongue moving with his as soon as they made contact. Her hands wrapped around his neck, one snaking its way into his hair. After a little time of playing with his hair she let her hands trail down his chest and abdomen, leaving them to tease along his waistline. Her mind and body both totally captivated by him.

“Get a damn room!” A stranger yelled off at the distance.

“GET FUCKED!” Mitch pulled his lips off his girl and yelled back at the nobody. What a buzz kill. Like a trophy, he held onto KC and turned their bodies to look at a group of teens, tweens? One being a boy that had the audacity to yell at him. “You wished you had tits like these.” The kids began to say profanities and act a lot older than they were. Rolling his eyes, no longer acknowledging them, Mitch glanced up at KC and smiled, “Let’s finish this on your sister’s bed.”

Kiara rolled her eyes at the interaction between Mitch and the group of teens or tweens. Amusement playing all over her face as she looked to her boyfriend just as he looked at her. She leaned in for a short kiss, this time biting his lip before pulling away. “If I end up dead, just know it is all your fault.”

“I’ll take the blame if it means I get to have some of this.” Mitch took a moment to appreciate her ass by squeezing it, before happily transporting her to the passenger’s seat. Yeah, he was ready.

And small bits from @Hey Im Jordan as Ashton
Thursday afternoon Flashback

The breeze blew softly around the small deer as the grass tickled the bottom of her feet. The occasional shift in the air brought her wide eyes to the street to watch passing cars before she would look right back down to the grass in front of her and continue to enjoy her walk, naively unaware of the hunter stalking his prey.

The hunter stood perched on a street corner, constantly looking over his shoulder. Checking for the predator his mind feared. His leg bounced, his mind only having one thing running through it. The one thing he needed to live his day to day life yet had been without for almost a week now. Having run out of options, he decided to target the way he knew he could think to get what he wanted. He had to hunt down a specific tiny deer.

When the tiny deer walked into his field of vision, blissfully unaware of the fact she was being hunted, the man immediately began his hunt. Stalking behind his prey, a good 50 ft back, he waited for the perfect opportunity to strike. An opportunity that would have less of a chance of anyone seeing and more of a chance of his success. The hunt ended when the deer turned onto an empty street, the hunter taking the lack of people at the time as the perfect chance to strike his prey. The poor deer never saw it coming.

One moment Fawn was enjoying the soft grass on her feet and the next she had her back pinned against a nearby tree, a wild looking man holding her shoulders to keep her in place. Her eyes widened in panic as she stared at him, recognizing him as the customer of her parents who got chased off by her father for trying to short her parents money when buying himself meth. It was obvious to her that the man was going through withdrawals, which was not good for her.

“Your parents owe me my weekly supply girly! Where is it?! Where!” The man screamed in her face, shaking her as he did so. He then let go of her shoulders and turned her around ripping her backpack off before shoving her to the ground. Catching herself on the tree as she fell down, to keep from face planting, she ended up bruising her knees and aggravating her burned hand. She ignored the pain to scramble back to her feet, knowing better from her beatings than to stay on the ground for too long. When Fawn turned around the man was finishing going through her backpack and looked angrier and wilder than before.

The man looked up at Fawn with a glare and began to rush towards her as she tried walking backwards but he caught up, grabbing hold of her wrists tightly in his hands. “Why don’t you have any?! If your parents won’t give me what I deserve and you won’t then I’ll just take you until they give me what they owe me.” He grinned a nasty grin as Fawn froze in fear after reading his lips. She had no idea what to do and she wished someone would notice and help her. She was doubtful though as she had noticed a few cars already drive by and she was still here, alone, dealing with this mad man.

A man unable to cope with life unless under the influence, an addict, was not someone to fear. Not for creatures that spend each and every day surviving and will do whatever it takes to see the next day. To take care of their own. Born in a cruel and vicious world, the predators understand the concept of kill or be killed. Eat or starve. Strength and weakness. Victory can only be obtained if they allow their inner beasts to come out. And they would. Without hesitation.

It was a Thursday afternoon. In an old Toyota Corolla, two boys drove around town on a run. Ashton Lockhart behind the wheel, and his roommate, Lucky Cross, staring out the window in silent contemplation. The sound of knuckles cracking was the only thing that could be heard, since Lucky had a nasty habit of cracking any part of his body that he could when he was sitting around doing nothing. This weekend he had a double shift on Saturday for one of his jobs. Grubhub driver for the Sunshine Diner. One of the many things he had to do to make it out on his own as a teenager with no guardians.

His sharp eyes caught sight of a familiar shape and red, long locks. Along with that oh so familiar form, he noticed an older man, with physical traits that gave away his schtick, trailing behind. “Hey, can we turn here?” By now, Ashton was well aware that Lucky had a new… interest. An obsession, if you may.

Ashton looked over at his coworker, and shrugged his shoulders. “Sure.” He turned the car in the direction that Lucky gestured at and glanced over at him, “is there any particular reason why…? Reina expects me home on time tonight, so whatever we’re doing… let’s make it fast.” Ash didn’t care what they were doing, so long as it was done in a timely fashion. After all, he had a schedule to keep to. “It’s puzzle night.”

It was puzzle night, Lucky.

“That girl…” Lucky paused, choosing his words carefully, “I know her—” The situation was undeniably obvious by the time the car stopped at the curb. By now, Fawn and the meth head disappeared into an alleyway. “—And would hate to see her get hurt.” Because for some reason, her act of kindness and her welcoming warmth drew him in. This instance though? He was pissed. His instincts were set off. “Give me five.” That’s all he needed.

Leaving Ashton in the car, the Hound trailed behind, dark and stealthy among the shadows. The true creature wasn’t the drug addict. It was the man calculating every move, every outcome, every probability that would lead to protecting something that belonged to him. That would lead to her safety and his outraged. That would lead to fear and relief. That would lead to answers.

Why the hell was a meth head approaching her?

Still, he wasn’t completely beastily. If anything, he was more human now than he’s ever been in the halls of BHHS. One thing he had to make sure he didn’t do was scare the girl into hating him. There were still things he didn’t want her to know about him. Too many to list.

Fear. All he needed to do was instill fear and then everything would be taken care of. When Fawn was in a compromising position, where it seemed the stranger was going to do the worst to her, suddenly, very suddenly, the addict gave a choked cry for help as his eyes bulged. He tried to get out of the hold but could not, instead his eyes followed the arm around his neck that reminded him of a noose and saw a face of a young boy, that of only seventeen, restraining him, squeezing the life out of him. “I’m sure you’re pretty familiar with this business, eh?” Lucky’s voice didn’t raise above a whisper.

Words that slithered into the man’s ear who could only let out gasps. “Well, if you do, then you must’ve heard of the Reaper.” Momentarily, Lucky loosened his grip but not loose enough for the customer to run away. Just enough for him to respond.

“W-what the fuck do, do you know ‘bout the—”

Weapons weren’t necessary, but Lucky was prepared if need be. “Do you really want to find out? “ The boy was on an adrenalin high and even if he was keeping things ‘sweet’, he still enjoyed this thoroughly. “Approach her again, in any way, I will deal with you myself, but don’t think for a second I can’t get him to do my dirty work. Got it?” Without waiting for a response, the Hound shifted his hold, releasing the man briefly before bashing his head in with his fist, knocking the man unconscious, who immediately fell on the floor right in front of Fawn.

Not saying a word, or even looking at Fawn, Lucky felt the man’s pockets and took his wallet out. Opening it, he found the ID and took a mental note of the name, address, and other vital deets that would benefit him in the future. He surveyed the body for any clothing that symbolized this man was affiliated with certain… groups. There were none. Okay, so he’s just a druggie.

When he was finished, Lucky stood up, threw the wallet on the ground, and with glaring, cold eyes, he glanced up at the deer in headlights. “Come here.”

She’d been preparing herself for the worst when she was suddenly released from the man’s hold. Her eyes flickered to the arm around the man’s neck and followed it to the body it was attached to, Lucky. Somehow, things had turned for the better for her. Somehow, she had gotten Lucky.

Fawn took a few steps backwards as she watched Lucky and the man, it seemed as though Lucky was speaking to the man based on the man’s facial expressions but she couldn’t see his mouth so she was left clueless. Within moments of his arrival, Lucky knocked the man out, her mind taken back to when they first met. But the memory was shattered when he looked up at her with his cold and glaring eyes. She knew he wouldn’t hurt her, she did, but the look caused her to instinctually flinch back. Her own eyes quickly looking to the ground as she followed the order he’d given her. Lucky had accidentally triggered an instinctual response in the small deer. One that caused a minor internal battle as she had to remind herself that Lucky wasn’t her parents. Even if a small voice in the back of her mind asked, ‘What if he is like them?’.

By the time she reached him, Lucky had allowed himself to cool down. Closing his eyes, he took another breath in and then out. Bending in front of her, so she could see his lips and his hands, he revealed the little sign he’s been starting to learn: We’ll talk later. I want to know.

Subsequently, he gently grabbed her hand, the one with the visible marks, finally taking notice of the damages. There weren’t any more words coming out of his mouth as he observed her, pulling her closer to him. All the skin that she showed, he took it in. As if she was on exhibit and he was taking in all her blemishes. Sighing to himself, the boy seemed to understand something but not revealing this new found knowledge. Instead, he swooped her up in a bridal carry, pressing her close to his chest. ”You’re staying with me tonight.”

The deer’s second look at Lucky was better, he was calmer and appeared more gentle. It helped to calm the girl’s instincts enough to not flinch when Lucky brought up his hands when he began to speak to her. She was able to read his lips but his hand movements caused her to furrow her eyebrows. Was he also speaking with his hands?

Fawn was aware of their being an easier way to communicate than her using lip reading and writing on the board but she had no idea how to do it. Nor did she known more than the fact it involved hands. She couldn’t quite remember what it was called, but she never thought it had been important. Seeing Lucky use the suspected communication made her wish she did know though. She simply pushed that thought away though as she observed the boy observing her.

Standing completely still she let him take her injured hand and look at it, then look all over her. The deer wasn’t sure what was happening or why he was doing what he was but she went with it all. A calm, quiet feeling falling over the two. It was shortly broken by a short, small squeak of surprise as Lucky suddenly picked her up. Her eyes barely able to catch his words as he began carrying her to the car he had arrived in. She was staying with him tonight?!

The redhead’s mind raced as she thought of what that could mean for her at home. If her luck continued, her parents wouldn’t ever notice her absence and she’s be fine. If it didn’t continue, well she could only fear the worst. As Lucky set Fawn down in the back of the car her thoughts went away from her parents and home, instead turning to the different possible outcomes that could happen from her going to Lucky’s place tonight. Those thoughts kept her occupied for the whole duration of the time spent in the car with Lucky and his friend, someone who Fawn barely noticed with her preoccupied mind.

Of course, Hailey had ulterior motives for sending Hana home that night. She always did. Call it a bad habit from her old ‘game,’ call it something that was in her blood, the end result was the same. Hailey was always two steps ahead of everyone, and now? Tonight? She had someone she wanted to speak with; in this instance, it was her youngest sibling, and only sister.

Hailey was getting tired of waiting up for this. She’d been sitting at the island in the main kitchen for some time now, rather impatiently. In fact, by her reckoning, it had been nearly twenty minutes, and was close to almost being ten o’clock. Did her younger sister’s audacity know no bounds?! For god’s sake, there was a reason Hailey was in this early: it was a school night.

Even if Hailey did have… late nights with Hana, at least she was polite enough to make sure she was back to be in bed at a reasonable time. That Cyndi couldn’t even afford her that was frustrating in itself, but Hailey would keep her cool. She was her mother’s daughter, after all, and Alyssa Green was very good at keeping cool when her emotions were… not. Even so...

“If she does not come soon, I want you to go get her and drag her to me by the collar of her shirt.”

Hailey had now reached her limit twice that day. Once with Hana, and now once again with her sister. It was a… special kind of Thursday. Her Butler though, simply shook his head. “Faith in Xander. He said they’ll be here. They’ll be here.” As if on cue, there was the opening of a door, the shuffling of feet, and it wasn’t long before the pair of Xander and Cyndi were stepping into the area where Hailey sat.

“Fucking finally. Butler, Butler. Leave us. I wish to speak to my sister alone.” Hailey’s order was given, and Butler shrugged his shoulder before glancing at Xander and gesturing with his head for the younger man to follow, before leading the way out of the room. There was no argument from the youngest Butler. There was no point. Hailey wasn't someone you wanted to disappoint or upset. Simply nodding his head, he gave Cyndi one last smile before trailing behind his superior.

Meanwhile, Cyndi was in her own world, with a song stuck in her head that played at the late night ice cream shop. More on that later. Dropping her purse on the floor, she did a playful pirouette to the music that she could only hear. She hadn’t really noticed that it was just her and her sister in the kitchen. All she was paying attention to was her happy feelings being expressed with her feet and voice. The Butlers were gone and it felt like she was the only one in the room, as she sang out loud, “Cause you make me feel like I’ve been locked out of heaven, for too long, for too long…” A nice old Bruno Mars song.

Hailey raised an eye as she stared at her singing and dancing sister. Was this for real? Why did she even have siblings? Why was her life gated by these people? There was an internal sigh, but no crack in the armor that was Hailey Green’s poker face. They were ultimately her siblings, and she had to be better to them; if not for herself, then for Hana. Hailey raised her hand and snapped her fingers. “Cyndi Destiny Green. Focus.”

Bringing her tiny dancer toes down, halting in her stance, Cyndi finally acknowledged her sister, “Oh Hailey! You’re still up! Did you have a good day? I haven’t seen you in like forever.” It was true. A whole semester and some. “You look great even in your pajamas.” The baby of the family beamed at her older sister.

“Of course I do. And yes, I understand that your presence is sending our brother’s girlfriend back to Korea or some such thing. Entirely unfortunate. Equally unimportant. Sit.” Hailey pointed at a seat beside her, even considering snapping her fingers again. “I have been waiting for twenty minutes, and it is exceptionally late.”

“Ha, who needs sleep?” Cyndi laughingly joked, but then realized she should probably take her sister seriously before she gets more upset. Grumbling to herself, the princess took a seat and waited expectantly, “Is it really that important? You didn’t have to wait for me. There’s always the morning.”

“Everything I care about is ‘that’ important. I understand you’ve been gone for a while, but that does not change things. I am still the eldest, and I am therefore still in command, as the Butlers would put it.” Hailey tapped the counter with a spoon, shaking her head. Insolence would not be tolerated, but would be dealt with later. More surgically. “I understand that you have a ‘boyfriend’ now. Saturday at 6:30 PM. No earlier, no later. He will arrive precisely when he needs to, and that is when he needs to.”

“B-boyfriend?” Cyndi’s eyes widened. Was he expected to come over, already? When did Hailey find out? Did everyone know? Did MOMMY know?! “We haven’t discussed that yet! We only went on a date that may lead to more. I don’t know if we’re ‘official’!” Crossing her arms, as well as her legs, she grew defensive at her sister’s assumption. Cyndi wasn’t some easy girl and she didn’t even know how she felt about Justin. They still had so much to learn about one another.

“You have until Saturday to figure that out then, don’t you? I already made plans for him to come. If he doesn’t, I suppose Henry would eat his food. He… is kind of a bastard, after all. You do realize how slowly you’re moving in comparison don’t you? I put a collar around Hana’s neck and she’s my property. Henry is living with Min-seo. In less than a week.” Hailey smiled slightly and leaned forward, ‘bopping’ Cyndi on the nose, “little Cyndi Green has one date and doesn’t know if she’s ‘official.’ It’s adorable, really.”

...Cyndi contemplated her sister’s words. She was taking it slow, wasn’t she? Did mommy or daddy take it slow? Probably not. Squinting her face, she cautiously asked, “Do I need to buy a collar too and make room for him in my room? What if mommy doesn’t approve?”

“Absolutely not. You could never handle the stressors and challenges of wholly owning another person. It’s more work than even I thought. I’ve had to step down from my position as ‘Queen’ earlier than anticipated as a result of the attention Hana craves and needs. Even getting her to go on a playdate tonight was damn near impossible. Do not make room for him in your room.” She straightened back up, her mission more or less accomplished. “If mother does not approve, then that is your burden to bear. You’re a teenager now, and we tend to make mistakes. It’s up to him to get approval, it’s not up to you. Inform him of this beforehand.”

“But if he is someone I choose, shouldn’t I state my case?” Cyndi didn’t know much of Justin and how he handled family interactions. It could be better if she fought this battle herself. Clasping her hands together, she eyed her sister. Why was her sister advising her, anyways?

“If you wish. What if you do, and you win mother over — because you will, you are her favorite — and then she meets him, and hates him? She’ll never trust your judgement in partners ever again.” Hailey shook her head, before physically waving a hand to dismiss the issue before she looked down at her phone, “whatever. Do what you want. I don’t care, I just want him to be at the dinner. I intend for Hana to meet everyone, and I’d prefer it if you did not interfere with that plan.”

“How would I interfere?” Cyndi raised an eyebrow. She wasn’t going to throw a brick at the family dinner. There was no way for her to ruin Hana meeting everyone.

“By not bringing your boyfriend. Temporary or otherwise, he is part of the family.” Fucking duh. “How else?”

“So with this logic, one date means he’s part of the family? Jeez.” Did her sister think she was ready for wedding bells? She wasn’t Stella, for god’s sake. If anything, she cared more about her career than anything else.

“You need to talk to your brother. Go pull him away from his Korean.” Hailey stood up and brushed off her shirt. “We are done. Have a good night, Cyndi.” Hailey raised her right hand and snapped her fingers rather loudly, and seconds later, the sound of Butler’s footsteps could be heard coming toward them.

“...uh, okay. Night, Hailey.” When Xander entered the room, Cyndi decided to relieve him of his duties for the night. “I’m going to bother my brother, so feel free to relax. Drink a beer. Watch AWE. If I need you, I’ll call for you. Night, Xander.”

“You got it. Night.”

Before making her way upstairs, Cyndi slipped behind everyone and made her way to the fridge, making her a quick glass of milk. Forgetting about her purse on the floor, Xander would take care of it, she shuffled her way to her brother’s room and gently knocked on it. While she waited, she took a sip of milk.

There was no response at first (though there were certainly voices beyond the door, and other sounds coming across the way. Sounds that the youngest Green might not understand, though by the end of her knocking, there was the shuffling of feet, and click of a door unlocking, and… the door just barely opened far enough for a shirtless Henry to poke his head out. “...suh, dude?”

Blinking once. Blinking twice. Cyndi gawked at her brother for a moment, having heard unknown noises. With a puzzled look, the yougin’ slowly voiced, “Hailey told me to pull you away from your Korean.” For what? She didn’t know, but might as well figure it out while she disturbed her brother, who was in the zone. His zone. She took another sip of milk. Milk was good before bed.

“It’s a bad time, Cyndi. You can’t see it, but I ain’t wearing pants. I don’t know what she even wanted. Does anyone know what that bitch wants?” Henry asked, though he shut the door for a second, there were more hushed voices, smacking of lips, and Henry opened the door, turning himself sideways to slip out of it. Now, he was wearing boxers, and a giant, fluffy bathrobe, with his initials embroidered on the back. “Okay. I’m pulled.”

“I think it might be in regards to Saturday night. Dinner. Maybe? She wants me to bring Justin, who I only had one date with, and she wants you to bring Min. This is a must in her book. She also said that I’m moving too slow, which I disagree. I’m not going to jump on a boy until I know he’s worth the jump.” Cyndi responded in a matter-of-fact tone.

“...Saturday night dinner? I ain’t havin’ dinner with her, and I sure as fuck ain’t lettin’ Min have dinner with her… I’ll figure that out later. You reminded me. Stop trying to be Amity Bellerose before you run out of time to be Cyndi Green. You’re gonna blink and your teenage years are gonna be gone because you think you have to do all this crap to make people like you. People like you because you’re nice, and thoughtful, and caring and all that lame shit. You gotta relax, and breathe and make some friends before you run outta time. Amity was a robot, dude.”

“But she was idolized! And got famous real quick. And was like America’s little miss sweetheart!” Cyndi retorted. How could he say auntie was a robot?!

“I dunno if you know this but Dad was all up in her shit before she met JJ, and she wasn’t going for him because all she cared about was workin’ and shit, and you don’t wanna be that person, dude. You’re really gonna sell your soul and your humanity to be an idol? You’d never last. You’re too empathetic. You’re gonna be famous anyway because you’re Alyssa Green’s kid, dude. I’m just sayin’. Food for thought. Have you ever asked her about this, or have you just assumed you want exactly what she has? Answer quick. Min’s gonna lose the mood.”

“I’m not just mommy’s baby. I’m more than that too. I have dancing feet and mama’s voice. I should use it. And how do you know I’m not going to make it as an idol?” Cyndi was getting legitimately defensive, not understanding why her siblings were telling her what to do and how to live her life right when she just made her return “Whatever. I’ll think about it." She hadn't really asked her aunt about her experiences as an idol... “You should go to the dinner because I think Hana deserves to meet the family and if Min is really something to you, you should treat her differently than the others.” Her brother never tried with anything. All he did was socialize and here he was telling her what he thought was best for her. Like, what gives him the right? In frustration, she took another sip of her drink. How dare he.

“Whatever dude. I’m better at this than you. You do what you wanna do. I’m gonna go finish what I was in the middle of now, see ya.” With that, Henry turned and disappeared back into his room, clicking the lock shut.

Her brother was a jerk. An absolute jerk!

Cyndi’s mood dropped expeditiously. The song of her night stopped playing and she silently made her way to her room, closing the door behind her and locking it. She needed to write in her journal... she was getting sad. She didn't like being sad. That's why she came back. To be happy. Was coming back a mistake?

Featuring: Wyatt Durand & Dr. Elton Durand
Location: The Durand House, Friday Night

Friday night may have been filled to the brim with stuff to be excited for, but first, Wyatt would have to get through his shift. Wheelz N Dealz wasn’t a bad place to work at all, in fact Wyatt loved it. The people that came in were chill enough for the most part, and the manager didn’t care if he was high at work either. Today though, the hours had dragged by. His friends, who usually stopped by to keep him company, were all busy and his date tonight had his stomach doing flips every time he thought about it.

Wyatt’s foot hammered against the ground as he watched the clock tick it’s way to seven o’clock. The moment the red hand made it’s final jolt across the top of the clock, Wyatt vaulted over the counter, shouting a hurried, “Bye Scott!” to his manager, and rushing out the door, his skateboard in hand.

As Wyatt rolled down the streets of Beverly Hills, his mind returned to thoughts of his secret admirer. Was it the redhead from the night at the boat? Or someone else like she’d said? Did she like flowers? Shit, he didn’t have any flowers. He’d have to buy some on his way there.

The Durand house was an imposing sight. Cold, modern architecture, all pure white and pristine, made the place look like some sort of space ship instead of a house. It was impeccably precise, just like his dad liked it.

The interior of the house was much like the exterior. Clean, pristine, with all white walls and marble floors. Black accents were placed throughout, splashes of color in the form of paintings, but the overall vibe was apparent; This place was cleaner than a hospital.

When Wyatt stepped through the front door, he saw the last person he wanted to see tonight: Dr. Elton Durand, aka, his father. Elton looked up at his son as he walked through the door, his typical expression plastered on. Cold, aloof, and busy. If those three traits could have been given physical form, it would be this man right here.

“The boards sell well?” Dr. Durand asked, from the couch. Wyatt veered left towards the living room, and stood, nodding. It was rare that his dad wanted to ask him about his day, and like a moth to a flame, he gravitated to the attention. “They did. Well, I mean, as well as they normally do,” Wyatt said, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. Prolonged conversation wasn’t something he was used to when it came to his dad.

“Any plans for tonight?” The doctor’s eyes had drifted back to his magazine, a medical journal that Wyatt had tried and failed to read once in an effort to make conversation with his father less painful. However, tonight, the conversation was...lively. At least compared to the last four years of their relationship.

“Actually, I...well I have a date,” Wyatt said, unable to prevent the grin that broke out across his face. His dad turned to him, an eyebrow cocked in surprise. “Well, that is interesting.” Wyatt grinned even harder, if that was possible. His dad had called his life interesting!

“See, I thought your evening plans would consist of something, oh I don’t know, Xanax related?” Elton said, calmly producing a bottle of the anti-anxiety pills that he shook around. It was empty.

Wyatt’s face fell. So this had been a setup all along. He’d never cared about what his plans were. It was just a way to build him up, only to knock him down.

“Anything?”

Silence held the father and son in a tight grip as they stared each other down, both refusing to budge.

“Stealing your dad’s anxiety meds? Come on, Wyatt! What the hell is going on? We let you off with a lot, mainly because your dad thinks you have to be allowed to be a kid, but this? What the fuck is wrong with you, Wyatt?”

Wyatt stood in silence for a moment. “Why does there always have to be something wrong with me?” he said softly. Before his dad could say anything in response, Wyatt was running up the stairs and slamming the door to his room behind him, sending a BANG throughout the house.

Wyatt’s breathing was heavy as he looked at himself in the mirror and struggled to calm down. Fine. It’s fine. Everything is fine.

The burner sighed and sat down on the edge of his bed, his face in his hands. He stayed there for a moment, still and silent except for the sounds of his breathing, before standing back up and wiping his face with the back of his hands, sniffling as if that would send all the bad feelings away. It wouldn’t, but he knew what would.

Fifteen minutes later, Wyatt stood in front of his mirror, dressed in a suit jacket and a slacks, his ratty converse peeking out from under the cuffs. His tie was a mess, but he hoped his secret admirer wasn’t a stickler about stuff like that. He grabbed his board and opened up the window of his room, slipping out and onto the roof of his house.

He stayed low, moving along the edge of the flat roof, a perk of Dr. Durand’s taste in modern architecture. He dropped down to a separate, lower section of the roof, then climbed down from there. The boy seamlessly got on his board, and skated down the driveway, pulling out a joint and a lighter from his jacket pocket and lighting it as he rode. He took a hit and exhaled his troubles in a cloud of smoke.
