The world is an ever growing, and prospering thing merchants sell their goods, and kings rule their subjects. And us...we adventurers clean up the dirty work for them. Not above blood, and the gore we're willing to put our lives on the line against...less than stellar odds. Many people are in it for the money, some the adventure, some are just cold blooded psychotics who get off on violence. All in all the world ain't changing. People in power, people with actual wealth just kinda stick to themselves. They pay for their own safety, and to get their own lives through the wretched grime the world is actually filled with outside the comfortable cities. That's why we always get paid well...well when the job is worth it. Us adventurers have a hard time you see it ain't all comfortable when we get close up, and personal with some beast.

With that being said the adventurer's guild accepts all, and so do all those who need more members...this is where me, and my buddy come in. You see we're the group known as 'Hollow Law', and a few of our friends...well they didn't make it out of that last fight with the ogre. Being a ruby tier group we've seen some action to put it mildly. Hollow Law? You wanna know what we're about? Well fine but we're not glamorous. Maybe you've heard a few tales? We've killed a Goblin Lord at one point, hunted down a assassin around bronze tier, and killed 'em. We don't mind people who less than stellar backstories but...we'd prefer not to have complete psychopaths if you know what I'm saying. Point bein' friend I ain't here to talk schematics about how that goblin killed you mommy. I'm here to fight, and earn my keep. Hollow Law just wants someone who knows what they're doing...and can keep doing it. We got hunting missions, and protection missions coming up soon but with our last group...kinda filled with holes we need some new teammates...that being said...you in?

Hello everyone the premise of this roleplay is simple: It will be about brutal, bloody, and dangerous monster hunting missions. Nothing about bleeding heart narratives, and players who chose to take that route won't likely be held up by the npc's in the group. We're all a part of the adventurer's guild that much is set in stone.

We're going to be working out of a city called Vigil's Wake a small castle city similar to many you'd find in an adventuring series. I'd like players to help me with quests. I am often busy with college work, and other roleplays so I will need help be it a co-gm or just someone to keep things moving. If you want to helm your own mission with the group you're free to ask/do so. The tier we're going to be accepting up to is tier 4 bronze. Maybe if you can make a good case for 3/2 I'll hear you out but Platinum is off limits. As my sell point above says we're a adventurer's group called 'Hollow Law'. You can play the 'go lucky hero' if it suits you but remember this ain't shonen you'll probably get disregarded by, at least my portion, of the crew who are probably more jaded at this point. Newbie porcelain tiers aren't likely to be accepted either as we are supposed to be experience heroes to a point.

I hope this is descriptive enough really what I want out of this rp is a 'against the stereotype' style roleplay. A lot of the time we see a lot of bright faced teenagers, and inexplicable plot armor. I'd like to throw that out the window as much as possible while keeping it guild friendly as possible. I am looking for a co-gm to run the plot if anyone is interested in that. As for who is talking in the 'sales pitch' above it is intended to be 'Praxton' the Rogue Archer/Ranger for the group my player character. Who's been promoted to team leader due to well...death and the other two NPC's not exactly being people persons'.

This question isn't meant to antagonize, but why do a RP in a world/setting you are not familiar with? How can you inspire players to trust in your direction and your setup if you don't really understand the series on a base level?

Because as I said I don't have it in me to make a whole new world tried to in advance didn't even make it to the ooc because of the nuances. Berserk doesn't have what I want as it lacks the standard end style. If no one wants to join fine but I'm not hiding anything I'm being up front with it.

How do you know if this world has the nuances you want if you know nothing about it?

Sounds like an excuse to be lazy. Please if you're going to bandwagon on the momentum of a new series anime adaptation, at least do it right. Go do your research.

I find that to be incredibly rude I've done some research on the matter more over I don't go onto other peoples interest checks just to call people out if you're not interested just don't comment.

I would be interest in a Goblin Slayer setting proper, but this just seems the exact same issue I had when you suggested a Darling in the Franxx RP. If you are going to use a setting you need have more understanding of its themes, lore, and concepts than just drawing up a concept on a whim. Fans of settings aren't stupid. They want to play in something that is reminiscent of what they enjoyed in print or on screen and someone who leads with the disclaimer that you are not very knowledgble sends a lot of red flags.

How are you going to inspire people on the fence here?

As an avid RPer and a fan of the source material, I'm not yet convinced.

This isn't a discussion thread. This an interest check I'm looking for players to join. So far there aren't any people, and this roleplay may very well not end up coming together at all. I'm not entirely sure what you want me to tell you either people do want a roleplay like this, or they don't. I'm not here to explain myself, I'm here to roleplay. Ink I respect that you tried to be more friendly than Sho but if I came out, and didn't say anything about not be knowledgeable we wouldn't even be having this conversation. If others want a roleplay that is helmed by a person is who much more immersed in the setting than I than they can either make it themselves, or they can wait.

The main intent for this roleplay is to make an adventure set in a similar style to DnD without the need for dice roll mechanics, or overtly complicated sheets. Yes I could've tried to go for a standard DnD game but I have no experience with DM'ing an actual game only having played them. The aesthetic that is what I'm aiming for is just that. I fully intend to research, and read more into this if I do obtain more people. And if I don't fair enough people aren't interested in prospect that I have offered, and I will move on. So I'll ask that you kindly move on if you don't intend on joining. I am not asking for advice, nor am I asking for opinions on how valid my choice is to make this roleplay. Actually, the whole 'I don't actually know that much about the source material' thing is more likely to drive people away.

Not gonna lie, but what I've seen of that series so far, it's totally a cliche animu-styled adventure with all the over-the-top gasping, the overly bouncy fan-service, and Japan's favorite faux-European aesthetic. Like, I personally think G.S. sucks, but my point is more that I don't think the source material is really what you're trying to do here. Maybe I'm wrong though! But I feel like you'd probably be better off just using Berserk as a template or maybe make something similar to it with new names etc. Sorry if I'm adding to an unwanted discussion, just felt like it was important to note for your own consideration.

Could I ask that those who have posted in this thread please remember that this is an interest check for the GMs to gather players for their RP. At this point in time I do not see how anyone would drop any interest given that the conversation has gone off topic thanks to users who are clearly not going to enter.
