I spent my thanksgiving cooking and cleaning, simply because everybody else wanted to exchange pleasantries and was un-thoughtful by not making at least one thing.

I did at least get to eat pumpkin pie.

Hey guys, I want to apologise for my prolonged absence.

I've been dealing with depression for a while now and things took a turn for the worst around 2 months ago. I don't really want to go into details but I wasn't able to be online much after that. I also felt bad for leaving you in the lurch and kinda hid myself away out of shame, I guess. I've only visited the site a handful of times since then but I've been talking things through with my therapist she advised me to come back and explain myself so that I might not feel so bad about it.

I'm glad to see you guys have still carried this on up until now and I'm still very much interested in the roleplay itself. I haven't decided whether it would be right for me to just come back after all this time, so I'd prefer to leave that decision to you.

@Kalas I'm happy you returned all the same. I can understand that might offer significant issue in responding back but it's good that you came back and let us know, even slightly belated as it was.

In any case Azhriel is still where you left him should you choose to return. We'd be happy to see you return but if you don't I understand. If you ever need a prolonged break from writing and don't wish to explain why that's fine. As long as you let us, or even just me, know then there's no harm in it.

In unrelated news I'll be about for most of the day but I'll try to get back to everyone when I return. It'll be a busy day.

@Dealdric Then what are you willing to have happen to him. You must understand, it's one thing to insult another character but it's entirely different to upset an already angry God who hates humans. Anu will not just let it slide.

Well, he isn't human now is he? Death, no. Maiming and scars, removal of limbs, and a concussion, or even a curse I'm okay with.

But death is out of the question.

Plus, he'll probably enjoy the pain.

@Dealdric For all intents and purposes, Anu thinks he is a human. She might suspect something else, especially if he has green tears. For the only other person she knows that has green liquid is Dirka. Unless all mages exert green liquids?

We'll see about his pain loving, there are plenty of curses that can change that.

Also, when the time comes I would prefer that you didn't just fix him and never have him live with the consequence of insulting a God. I think his character development could benefit from it.

Welcome back! Thank you for being so forthright, your honesty is appreciated. I'm sure everyone knows how difficult it was for you to take this step so there shouldn't be any hard feelings. I, for one, will be happy to have you back. And don't worry if you feel like you've missed any 'major events', my character, for example, has chosen, for the most part, not to engage with certain events, pursuing his own agenda. If you'd like to retcon certain interactions just to make up for lost time, I'm sure you could collaborate with whichever players whose characters you feel Azhriel should interact with

@Kalas Hey! Glad to see you're still alive! I can definitely relate to the depression episode - those days suck all of your creativity out. But the door is still open for you to come back in! So by all means, if you want to come back then we'll welcome you in open arms!
