One of the artifacts that has come into my possession is a book of genealogy, written by a United States Army officer post the Second World War. Uniquely the text is hand written on draft paper, accompanied by several hundred sheets of typewritten text. The author appears to be a well studied historian who used their prestige and scholarly status to gain access to unusual works that are rare or limited in number by today's standard, going so far as to procure validated copies from official records and publishing documents before their print. It is to say, an interesting matter to compare to it modern interpretations and note that it has been remarkably accurate in its claims.

@Gunther From one anonymous internet soul to another, I truly hope the contents of your plate get smaller sooner rather than later. I myself have been there before, so I know what it's like.

On an unrelated note, I bought a pull-up bar this weekend and now I can do 1.5 pull ups with palms facing in.

I can't do a pull up to save my life.

I can, however, do 50 push ups without stopping, about 25 squats and a shit ton of crutches (crunches? Those things that are out sit ups, but not actually sit ups. Y'all know what I mean.)

Furthermore, I took weight training my sophomore year of High School. I couldn't cling for shit, but I could bench press 85 pounds and squat 145 pounds. At the time I was fifteen, about to turn sixteen. I was hella impressed with myself.

@HaleyTheRandom@Liv
Pull ups are very important. I used to not be able to do one. It really helps your upper body strength.

I do 20 every night now for a warm up for when I work out after work. Also random fact: I'll be making fitness videos soon on a new youtube channel.

@Gunther's got this.

Thanks and plate has five (5) letters.

During my black belt test (2017), I did 100 push ups after running a mile and after two and a half hours of intense curriculum in self defense. We had to do 50 push ups non stop and then we could break up the remaining 50 however you like. I did four sets of ten and two sets of five with breaks between each set. I'll test for 2nd degree black belt later this year.

I can see it now...
Poo Productions Presents: FITNESS & POO

Looking forward to it

Also, random fact: As an English major, I don't recall ever using the word "Shat" in a sentence, whether written or verbal.

(aside from right now, of course...)

Isn't the past tense of shit, shit? Correct me if I am wrong. Where did the word shat come from other than his definition: "An action performed by American actor William Shatner."

I'm anemic and get cold rather easily. Where I work, three of us have a personal heater and another girl has a snuggie. Apparently, all the computers and processors need to be kept at a certain temperature. I don't deal with the actual equipment, just the software.

I don't really get cold and everyone seems confused when I walk outside wearing a jacket while everyone else is wearing puffy coats.

I am like a cat in that I prefer heat. Have you ever seen farm cats sleeping under and behind the wood stove in an old farmhouse? That would be me. My wife prefers it cold. She would open the window in the bedroom in the winter. All that does is cause me to shiver uncontrollable.

I'm just a weirdo.

I get cold fairly easily, but yet I'll go swimming in twenty degree water like it's nothing. I don't really have a preference between hot or cold. Of I'm comfy, I'm comfy. If I'm not, well, I'm not.

I have just now come to the realization the sheer irony of my giving "Likes" in reply with a thumbs up icon as something that specifically and notably lacks thumbs. Given that I as well am not polydactyl, an exception to the rule but something felids are known for, this only makes it more entertaining. Yet, in hindsight for some unknown reason this register took until now to strike me, although on other services and in other mediums that use the icon I had thought of from the moment I arrived.

On the more related note of temperature, I am strongly biased toward the cold, although warm ambient sunlight to bask in is a particular favorite. Natural cold endurance and resistance is a wonderful perk of resilience to have, barring any place known for heat and humidity.

Temperature wise I just want room temperature everywhere. No sun rays to bake me or wind to freeze my skin.

I miss being eight.

I'd come home from school, Nana would have dinner made. Papa would be watching M.A.S.H. I'd do my homework, and by then my parents would be home. My brothers and I would watch Disney, go to bed and when I woke up at 2:30 in the morning George Lopez would be on TV. Me and my cousins would play manhunt in the woods and walk down to the river.

Eight was a pretty good age for me.

I walked a very drunk neighbor home over this past weekend and when I left him at his building, five seconds away from mine, he said “You’re a neat person,” to which I responded, “Thanks, you’re really strange.”

Elite social skills ftw!

I've kind of said "no" to a LOT of women the past five years ever since my heart was broken. I might start dating again though, I just realized.

I tend to become fixated on something ridiculous and obsess over it. I applied to a job in NYC which eventually I had to turn down because I didn't have the money to move there just yet. Before that point, I had made it my mission to get up there, whatever the cost. I lost sleep over it and looked at places to live at day and night. Eventually, I had to get over it.

The reason for my obsession? My ex is from that area and although he doesn't live up there, I thought it'd help me cope better, as stupid as it sounds. I would still like to move up there, but I've been working a government job for some time and I'm thinking about retirement in under 30 years so might as well stay.

I am on the verge of starting a new career, late in life. I have worked many different jobs in my life, from being a soldier, to a Police Officer, to railroading, financial services and warehouse work. I plan to take the licensure exam in my state to be a middle school math teacher in May. If all goes well, next fall I will be a 55 year old brand new Math teacher somewhere in Massachusetts. I plan to work at this until I am 70...and then retire.

The numbers to me, are just numbers. I still feel as vigorous as I did when I was 27. I train in martial arts two or three days a week and engage in some seriously intense cardio workouts involving punching and kicking things twice a week as well as running.
