One shot. Two shot. Three shot. How many shots? Allison had honestly lost count of how many shots she'd taken over the past few minutes. Tara wasn't really much of a help in regulating that, either. Little did the either of them know, however, alcohol was having even more of a detrimental effect on the poor doctor. For someone who studied the human body, she had no idea just how hard the shots were hitting her. She'd been around the block when it came to alcoholic drinks, but she hadn't really gone this hard prior to today. Tara was egging her on to drink more and more and Allison just did it. It was rather dangerous, considering she had little to no idea what her limit was.

Whatever it was, she was way past it. The bartender had considered cutting off poor Allison a couple of times, but she insisted that she was fine, despite the bartender's objections. Eventually, she cut herself off. The taste of... whatever the hell it was that she was drinking got too icky. She was slumped over on the counter, her legs a slight bit too wobbly for her to even attempt walking around. It was probably a good choice, considering most of her inhibitions were gone, meaning that she was a significant amount more likely to say something she shouldn't really say, even if she may have thought it.

Tessa's comment earlier had stuck with her, and it had way too much weight on her than it should've. Did people really still think of her as Adderall Allison all of these years later? It was pretty insulting to the person she was today, the obstacles she overcame to be standing today as Dr. Allison Bentley-Song and not in some corner in Miami trying to score some cash for a quick dime bag of coke or something. Allison felt like her efforts were being reduced to the fact that she just had access to adderall. Nobody knew just how hard it was for her to kick the habit while in school, and trying to be as competitive as she could in that.

As much as she still resented Grayson for his comment, she also had to give him credit. He was right, after all. It was something that needed to be addressed. However, Allison had too much pride for herself to even think of admitting he was right. She couldn't bear to even think about the possibility of admitting he was right. She'd rather die than do that. However, there was no changing the fact that he actually was, and it tore her up every single day.

She raised her head from the counter, looking at Tara. There was an unusually pleading look toward her. "Tara... do you think I'm stupid?" Allison asked, looking up at her, "I feel like people think everything I've done is just due to.. my habit. I hate it..."

Grace watched heartbroken as her best friend excused herself from the table and retreat back towards the resort. Had she been to harsh again? Was the gin getting to her already? A sharp sigh escaped the woman as she slumped back into the uncomfortable expensive chair. Frustrated she looked around for something to take her mind of Willow leaving. It didn’t take long for her wandering eyes to land on the broad shoulders belonging to Andre Martin.

Almost an hour had passed and still Andre hadn’t even looked her way. Grace narrowed her eyes and gulped down the last of her drink before slamming down the tumbler on the smooth surface of the bar table. The dark haired woman stood up and walked with determined steps towards the table that was just behind where her former boyfriend stood ignoring her. Luckily for her she knew some of the people situated there so it wasn't as awkward when she laughed a little too loudly at the joke about the food that was being passed around.

Her eyes shifted frequently to Andre's back to see if he would notice her existence or if he was hardcore ignoring her. When she realized it seemed to be the latter Grace did some last minute soul searching and decided she was done making a fool of herself and politely made up an excuse to leave the table.

Just as she passed the pool a huge splash of water drenched her right side.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me?!"

Grace roared as she whipped around to see Brent flail in the water and a crowd of people starting to form at the edge of the pool. In the distance she saw Amanda's slight figure storm up towards the main building. Grace decided she would much rather follow her lead than deal with whatever the fuck those people were dealing with. So she slung her now wet hair over her shoulder and set of after Amanda.

She caught up with her former best friend as she stood waiting for the elevator.

"Guessing that this isn't the reunion for love huh?"

She said quietly and carefully and she stepped up next to Amanda.

Once Tessa had said her piece, she had turned around to prop herself up on the bar. Amanda made her entrance, shooting Tessa a glance as well as Tara. Tessa knew that her friend didn’t really approve of her friendship with Tara, but both of the ladies meant so much to her…. What was there to do?

It appeared that everyone had entered the party, some of them sitting by themselves or forming groups. Once Tessa had said her piece and heard what Willow had to say about her divorce, Tessa no longer had any reason that she wanted to hang around other than Tara. It seemed that her friend was intent on getting herself wasted as well, however, and striking up a conversation with Allison. Tessa politely excused herself to the restroom as to escape whatever potential pity party this was about to turn in to.

Being tipsy and walking in heels wasn’t the best idea. Once she got to the restroom, she carefully made her way inside, stopping to look at herself in the mirror first. Downing seven shots of tequila in ten minutes wasn’t her most glorious moment, but it had loosened her up a bit. What on earth she had to worry about, she couldn’t quite place her finger on. Was it feeling like she was in high school again? Surely not. Tessa had more or less been adored by most of the people that were here. She didn’t have any actual rivals or enemies to worry about from that long ago. So was it Brent?

”Surely not,” she scoffed at herself in the mirror. ”It’s not like he’s the only male that you’ve tried to keep in touch with other than Jace. It’s not like you don’t know his family, or that you don’t care for him. It’s not like you haven’t tried to be there for him when you can, or caught yourself guessing if you had caught feelings,” she continued, combing her hair out of her face. ”What is your drunk ass even saying right now? You're a bad bitch. Bad bitches do not catch feelings.”

Once her lipstick was reapplied and her dress was straightened, Tessa exited the restroom to hear someone yelling. It took her a second to decipher the voices, but it sounded a lot like Jace and Amanda. Apparently her friends conquest for dick wasn’t turning out as planned. Removing her heels, she politely asked one of the hotel staff if they would place them outside of her room. Thankfully the young man obliged, saving Tessa from tripping over her own feet.

Taking another look around, she seen Reina shove Brent into the pool. A handful of the Kings Men were still catching up, and it seemed that Jace was making his way back over to the table. Grayson and Amanda were also storming away, though headed in different directions. Grayson appeared to be pissed off as much as the other parties did, though why Tessa didn’t know. She had a feeling she would hear about it later rather it be from Jace or Amanda.

Moving to stand beside the pool herself, Tessa followed Reinas lead and shoved Grayson into the pool without giving it a second thought. When the man came back up from under the water, Tessa simply shrugged her shoulders at his shocked expression.

”You looked like you needed to cool off.”

To say that Jace was fuming would have been an understatement. He wasn’t even sure what had just happened in the last ten minutes, but he did know that he had pissed off Amanda and wanted to get drunk. A small voice in the back of his head kept telling him that he ought to apologize, but as for right now Jace Russo could not - and would not - be the bigger man.

Storming back over to the table where the rest of his old friends gathered, Jace’s mind was caught in a state of ’What the actual fuck’. Reclaiming his place in his chair, he folded his hands into a fist on the table in front of him. He looked over to the pool just in time to see Tessa shove Grayson into the deep end.

”I hope he drowns,” the man grumbled before turning to the people around him. ”Do any of you guys have any advice for what to do when you make an ass out of yourself at your high school reunion?”

It would be at the moment that his phone would buzz, signaling that he had a text message from Pizza Hut. It seemed as if their manager needed quality check on two of their medium pies. If Jace hadn’t have been so pissed, he would have sent them a bunch of emojis and a long text explaining just how delicious said pizzas looked. Unfortunately he was to pissed off to focus. He sighed, closing out the message and sitting his phone down on the table.

”While we’re at it, does anyone want to get wasted?”

It was almost immediately clear that this reunion was destined for disaster in many forms. He couldn't help but sort of watch as various people stormed off in various states of aggravation. He couldn't blame them, as none of the conversations were currently seeming very pleasant. So, he watched in quiet contemplation as most of the reunion wound up in the pool. He couldn't help but sort of pity Grayson, he was his best friend after all. A small grimace followed the splash of Grayson's body hitting the pool, he hoped he was alright. He'd probably text him later to check in, assuming his phone hadn't taken a dip with him.

He noted Jace's comment but held his tongue on something snarky. The bad blood between him and Grayson may have run deep but Caden hadn't really ever had a problem with Jace. They weren't close by any means but he hadn't ever had a reason to quarrel with him. It was good to see him again either way and despite how angry he seemed, he was looking good these days.

"Apologizing is usually a tried and true solution," he mused, though he didn't press it. It wasn't his place to deal out advice to Jace with such a limited understanding of the situation. It would, however, be his place to talk to Grayson later about it, Caden didn't like filling in the blanks and there were a lot of blanks to fill into that little showdown. He knew it likely stemmed from Amanda and that was enough of a problem on its own. She had her hooks quite firmly in the both of these boys from what he could see. "Hey, Jace. It's been awhile. How've you been?"

He couldn't help but laugh at his inquiry, a little anyway. He didn't drink as much as he had in college but with all of the rising drama and... his diminishing hope of catching up with Reina tonight, getting wasted sounded pretty good. He would just have to be careful, his balance issues always made things a touch more complicated. "I'm down. I'm not doing anything better over here."

After she had claimed another couple of mojitos for herself, Tara noted that things seemed to have died down around the bar. Tessa had gone off, likely not wanting to hang around after all the other departures, so it was just her and Allison. Not the combo she would have anticipated at the start of the day, but it seemed to be working. Allison was good for a laugh. Tara certainly needed more of those.

However, it certainly seemed like Allison was starting to head down the same road Tara had already trod along. Why would Allison think she was stupid? On the surface, Tara thought that the only thing stupid was the question. Of course Allison wasn't stupid. She was a doctor. She had to be some kind of smart. But as Allison started talking, it was clear that wasn't the stupid she was talking about. "Ummm..." she started, unsure where to go with this line of thought. "I definitely don't think you're stupid," she answered. "I'm... fuck, I hate saying this. Maybe Amanda was right? Maybe we both are getting too hung up on who we were back in high school, instead of who we are now. I mean, you can't stop some things about who you are, but you can't let it force you to play up to someone else's notions of who you are, I think?" Drunken philosophy was one of her top subjects at Quinnipiac.

Allison put her face on her hand, squishing it and contorting it as she looked at Tara. She did have a point when it came to this. Maybe she did put a little too much weight when it came to her business on high school. At the same time, however, it was hard not to put weight on it when it was thrown in her face all the god damn time. "It's hard...." Allison bumbled, "Didn't you hear what Tessa said?"

Tara had hoped her best friend would not have been brought up, because in all honestly, it was a pretty callous line. However, Allison went to the topic first, so there was at least a bit of mutual screwing up.

"I heard what she said," she solemnly confirmed. "I know the first mention of it came from you though. And maybe that's it. Like, I wasn't too stoked when Grayson brought up the punching. I don't need that right now. But I tried my best to put that fire out. Just seems to be all anyone else remembers though. You, I don't think that's all people remember. Especially not when you have so much going for you now. Maybe you have to forgive yourself for what happened back then. Otherwise, that's all you're gonna be thinking about whenever you do anything. I'm trying not to do that anymore."

"But still... T-Taraa.... does everyone really think I'm just a tweaker?" The words may or may not have flown into one ear and out of the other, but Allison was still more than worried about how people saw her, despite her repeated efforts to not do so. Image was a far bigger thing now that she was making her entry into the medical world. Of course, she didn't want the name of "Adderall Allison" attached to her. "This is so fucked, Tara! Why did he have to even come to us? Why did I say that? Good lord..." She put her face inside of her hands, feeling quite a bit of shame.

"Hey! Hey-hey! Hey!" Tara wasn't gonna let Allison start dropping down to her level. She grabbed Allison's hands and pulled them away from her face. "No one, no one that matters, actually thinks that, OK Allison?" Tara didn't know that for sure, but it was in her nature to try and keep other people's spirits up. It helped on the table, even if it didn't help her. "I don't know why that... fuckhead, decided he had to pull that shit right off, but fuck him." She grabbed her second mojito. "You don't need his approval. You don't need anyone's approval! You're you, damn it!" She punctuated this last thought by slamming her hand on the table, but in doing so, she heard a splash instead of a bang. "What was that?"

Allison was about to retort and respond to Tara's efforts to cheer her up. Admittedly, it did cheer her up a bit. It was somehow working on her drunk ass and she even cracked a little smile. But, just when she figured out what she was about to say, she heard a rather loud splash behind her. She turned around, seeing a couple figures in the pool, at least to the best of her ability. "Someone's getting wet."

"Least someone is," Tara wryly commented. She picked up her glass. "Should we go see if they need medical attention, or just go to laugh at their sorry asses?"

"Well... I'm drunk." Allison said, "We're not supposed to practice under the influence..." Allison giggled softly.

Tara laughed, and felt better about somewhat accomplishing her goal of lifting Allison's spirits. With Willow no longer present, someone had to take the sunshine role. "All right, let's go laugh at them then."

As the two medical professionals finally abandoned the bar, a quick trip to the pool area revealed a pair of men in the pool. Brent was a bit of a surprise to see taking a dip with his clothes on, but she was all grins to see his synchronized swimming partner. Grayson deserved that. He deserved all of that the way he was walking around like a tool. Hard to be a smug prick when one looks like a drowned rat. It was the most beautiful thing Tara had seen at this place.

Apparently it wasn't enough for some people though. She heard a call ring out from behind her. She couldn't place the voice, but it was one of the dudes. "Who wants to get wasted?" Pfft. Amateur. Just starting now.

"Wants to? Fucking get on my damn level, boyo!" Tara shouted back into the ether. She was feeling it now. The over-hammering drink session with Allison was running full circle through her veins now. She spotted her best friend standing beside the pool, almost gloating over the soggy suit Grayson was forced to wear. She had to be congratulated. "Hey Tess, you do that? I fucking love you if you did."

“Sorry guys. I just ...I can’t stand that woman.”

It didn't take Andre long to figure out who "that woman" was. His eyes shifted in the direction that Brent was staring, and they landed on none other than the organizer of the entire event. Amanda Woodall was an acquired taste, one that not too many people that'd graduated from King's, especially Brent, had seemed to develop over the years. Yet given his earlier history with the woman, Andre nearly opened his mouth to defend Amanda. Something along the lines of, "Oh, she's not so bad," or "Give her a chance" began to roll off his tongue, but he stopped just as someone else decided to join the few King's Men at their table.

Reina Stein... or Reina Barracano, now... looked just as Andre remembered her, only more mature and put together than she was in high school. "Why don't we stop people watching and have a good time?" She said, suddenly fixating her gaze upon Andre. "Those two girls over there could really use some of your... charms." He didn't even have to look to know who it was that Reina was referring to. But rather than offer her a direct response, he simply shifted uncomfortably in his seat and flashed the young woman a quick smile.

Soon, Reina had whisked Brent away to the dance floor, and Dre was left wishing that he'd stopped by the bar for a drink on his way to the their table. It wasn't long before another old friend found their way over there, though; Dre grinned widely and held out a hand as Caden Burke approached. "My man," Andre said to his old friend. "Too fucking long. Y'all have no idea how much I've missed this... None of the usual drama. Just kicking it with my guys and-" Andre momentarily stopped speaking when he heard a sudden splash behind him. Quickly turning around in his chair, Andre saw both Reina and Brent standing in the shallow end of the pool. It was also in that moment that he spotted an angry-looking Grace storming back up towards the main building, half of her body visibly drenched.

Part of him wanted to chase after her and apologize for not speaking to her sooner. The more non-confrontational part of him, however, thought that it'd be best for him to stay behind and, as Jace had said, get wasted. After thinking on it for a few brief seconds, Andre let out a deep breath and turned back to face his King's Men. "Fuck it, why not?" He said, forcing a smile on his face. "Bring on the tequila."
