We are conflict avoiders.

The best method of dealing with conflict is to first not be embroiled by it or so I have found. Becoming mired in it only brings more trouble, which has always led me to wonder why people flock and gather to it. It reminds me of stories of people walking toward the receding tide just to try and see the source of the oddity. This is not to say I am opposed to conflict but I certainly do not go looking for it.

I like starting trouble with people I like because their anger is so sweet and I could never get enough of it.

I cannot begin to imagine attempting to irritate others for the sake of personal pleasure. It is not enough that I am generally devoid of feeling much of anything aside from those few things that I am irrationally bound to, having traded one curse for another, the dull iron shackles for those of gold, but it is even more that this is as alien a phenomena as it could be to me; I have heard this before and yet I still cannot appreciate it.

On another note, sometimes after waking up, I notice my body is a little too weak from sleep. My only guess is that I interrupted the REM cycle where my skeletal muscles were paralyzed and it takes a moment for that to wear off. But then again, I'm no doctor.

Right now dealing with a toss up of which is worse - my daughter being old enough to drink (legally) on her next birthday, or my oldest son getting his learners permit this summer. (Neither are making me feel like a spring chicken lol)

If you were there bro, you would not be having baby fever you would have been cringing. A few hundred middle school students (11 - 14) all huddled in one spot? No thank you! Not fun.

You need to let go, mom. Whatever lessons you taught them from birth to like age 12 is them! That is who they are. The next set of lessons will come one of two ways. They will listen to someone they respect (Maybe you, but not necessarily) and do what that person tells them or they will learn the hard way. I know I learned a lot of those lessons the hard way and fortunately I wasn't permanently damaged because of those lessons. Except for the broken heart/lost love lessons those just suck....and damage you.
