The world had seen better days. The Justice League was dealing with an international incident and in talks with the UN about the formation of a Justice League Europe. The Teen Titans had just fallen apart and there were several heroes who’d fell in between the cracks of the last big crisis. Two long-time friends who’d seen time with both the Teen Titans and the League decided to get together and do something about the superhero shortage. Maybe the younger heroes had given up. Perhaps the slightly older heroes had fallen on hard times. Wally West (aka the Flash) and Vic Stone (Cyborg) pitched the idea of an academy for younger heroes in need of training to a few billionaire friends. After deciding against the name ‘Justice University’ the pair of heroes and their backers decided on the obvious name… Titans Academy.
Setting up shop in Midway City after a spike in metahuman crime got national media coverage, Cyborg and the Flash took a different approach with their ‘school’. They took in young metahumans between the ages of 16-25, and there were part time and full time members each with a different mentor. The Flash already protected Central and Keystone City, so he’s part time. Cyborg tackled the full timers and relocated to the Midway branch of STAR Labs while his team lived at the academy. It was pitched to the mayor of Midway City as a police academy of sorts for the next generation of superheroes.
Midway City was once the stomping grounds of Hawkman as well as the Doom Patrol. Regular metahuman threats included more savage individuals like Lion-Mane, and there’s talk of Robotman losing his mind and wrecking a local bar. However the boys may get some help in the form of another old friend…

For this RP I’m going to go back to an episodic type of format that worked pretty well with a larger cast in an old Justice League Unlimited RP. Essentially I’m gonna post a few episode summaries to give everyone an idea of what’s going on, split into two teams, and work two ‘missions’ or ‘lessons’ at a time building towards certain plot points. We’ll say every third episode the whole team will come together to face a mutual enemy or have the same lesson assignment (since this IS supposed to be an academy). Everyone will eventually get their time to shine, and there WILL be character centric episodes to further specific plots. So don't worry if you don't get much action every now and again. I’ll post who’s in which episodes as well as other details when the IC goes up. Usually with these kinds of formats I suggest post caps (usually 3 or 4 posts per player per episode) so that trivial interactions don’t become too long winded. I just don’t want a five minute ride on a sky cruiser to turn into a fifteen post conversation about something. Every post should matter. For better interactions between players I’d suggest working on collaborative posts with PM's or in the Discord since it’s generally not cool to use somebody else’s character. You could also leave posts open ended to leave openings for others to come in and pick up where you may have left off. Right now we have nine players, and I’m going to put a cap on recruitment at ten. With a couple players already in contact to fill some spots we’ve really only got room for one additional player. Just depends on the quality of the sheet and if it was made for this RP or just recycled from another game. I’ll post the first few episode summaries below as well as links to our Discord and the Interest Check if any interested parties need additional information.

Ep: 1 – Magnetic Monster – A scientist studying magnetic fields at STAR Labs has an accident in his lab that fractures his mind and Doctor Polaris is born. After Cyborg is ripped apart, it’s up to the new students at Titans Academy to save the other scientists and civilians. But will they be enough to stop him from escaping?

Ep: 2 – Additional Adversaries – When a young metahuman with the ability to become multiple individuals attempts to rob a department store the Titans get the call…. from one of their own inside the store! Ep: 3 – The War Room – After there was more collateral damage than expected in and around STAR Labs, the Flash decides to introduce the team to the holographic training area and holo-droids of the War Room. Ep. 4 – Burn Out or Fade Away- After a lecture about supernatural opponents and artifacts with Raven, the team gets a tip that Fadeaway Man has been spotted on the east side of Midway City after committing a heist in Delta City days earlier. After an assist from the Titans vet, the team is introduced to Arsenal’s uncle… the WWII era hero called Guardian. Why did he stop by, and what interest does he have in Alexander?

Ep. 5 - Dark Flash - When Wally West is corrupted by the darkness of the Negative Speedforce, the Titans travel to Keystone City to save his enemies! The Dark Flash attacks Iron Heights Metahuman Prison and a riot ensues. If not for Captain Cold finding his cold gun and slowing down the speedster, the Titans wouldn't stand a chance. But who can contain the Negative Speedforce power?! [XLR8? Blitz? Shattercrash?]

Ep. 6 - Apokolips How - Intergang, opens up a portal to Apokolips and Brimstone happens. Over twenty feet tall, spitting fire, and just two blocks away from a sold out baseball game. Which Titan got a power up enough to do some damage to something so high tech? And what will be discovered in the 'post credits' scene of the first 6 episode arc?!

Adam used to be a very different person. A quiet young man who simply tried his best to keep his head down and avoid drawing any kind of negative attention to himself as he went about his life from going to school, hanging out with what few friends he had and playing video games. He was never intentionally malicious or of ill intent, but his view was that since he was only human he should worry about the happiness and well being of himself and those who he knew and got along with rather then worrying about larger issues like his home city or nation.
Then he got shot by a stray bullet in a drive-by as he was waiting for a bus to school.
The revelations of this incident, including the awakening of his abilities and the near death experience that came with it changed Adam's views. Joining Titan Academy (even if in a part time capacity) in order to become a hero and help make the world a better place in his own small way is merely the most visible of changes. However, underneath the mask he dons for his Alias lays a great deal of rage; This fury exists for a number of reasons and justified or not, it might get him into trouble.

Adam is a magic user who draws his magical abilities from an Entity that simply goes by the title of 'Warden of Hell'. While in theory Adam could learn a wide variety of different magical spells and effects, his pact with the Warden seems to be specialized towards punishing those who have sinned; While it is still early days, experience and conversations with his patron have revealed at least three spells/abilities so far.
Judgement: If Adam looks at someone and focuses on this spell (Which require him to speak the phrase 'Tpdvlaljh' aloud) he can get a vague idea of what kind of sins weigh on their soul. This is not a perfect reading by any means due to the complicated nature of sin, the soul and the hardships of living. This also doesn't reveal the full story behind the sin, only the vague, base nature of it (Lust, Greed, ect). The more of a type of sin someone commits, the more it stains their soul and the more it stands out.
Reckoning: When Adam casts the spell of Reckoning (requiring speaking the phrase 'Glscejnjv'), Adam is magically empowered physically. He becomes faster, stronger and gains more endurance to injuries. In theory he can reach super human levels on par with leading figures of the Justice League under the right circumstances... but there is a catch. The power boost gained from the spell of Reckoning is dependent on how twisted and dark the soul of those around him are; Reckoning is designed to be fueled and empowered by the darkness of the soul of those Adam is intending to fight.
Consequence: A verbal spell that uses the phase 'Sejiltpljsl', Consequence is the hardest spell for Adam to make use of. In order to work, he needs to be able to stare the target dead in the eyes after they have been subdued enough that they cannot escape or fight back. The spell itself does not affect the physical body of the victim, instead targeting their mind and soul directly. The spell effectively gives the victim a 'preview' of what awaits them if their soul ends up in hell under the care of the Warden. The experience and how much pain the target goes through is dependent on who they are and what crimes they have committed since the punishments are tailored to the sins they are guilty of.
Weaknesses -
Being gagged: To date, all of Adam's spells require being able to speak. If he is silenced, he cannot cast spells.
The Soulless: The spells Adam currently can use are dependent on the target having a soul. If the target does not have a soul, then his spells will have no effect on them.

Personality: Azrealla is typically upbeat and has a strong sense of justice, though recently has become a bit somber.
Power: Shadow manipulation/Umbrakinesis
Shadow manipulation/creation - control existing shadows or create her own shadow energy. She usually uses the shadows as tendrils or basic energy blasts.
Shadow Levitation - in casing herself in shadow she can mimic flight, however, it is not as efficient as actual flight and can only levitate herself reliably for travel. She can also envelop an object in shadow energy and levitate the object, she can lift around 250lb/113.40kg currently.
Shadow Barrier - using shadow energy to repel attacks.
Shadow vision - can see in pitch black.
Shadow Healing - Healing through shadows she transfers vitality from one creature to another, this is not a one-to-one transfer vitality is lost in the transfer. She can turn broken bones into fractures, stabilize mortal wounds, and fully heal scraps and small cuts.
Potential Capabilities: Teleportation through shadows, Light/Shadow Absorption, Shadow Form (becoming shadow).
Weakness: She becomes easily exhausted in direct sunlight and sickly if she remains in sunlight for too long. When she overuses her power she begins to hear whispers that can be quite distracting.
Appearance:
Azrealla has pitch black hair going past her shoulder blades, pale brown skin as if she has never seen the sun and dark brown eyes with hits of golden flecks that circle the pupil.
Background: Azrealla had a pretty average childhood, with a mother and father working full-time jobs to barely make ends meet. A two-bedroom house in Los Angeles where she and her older sister shared the master bedroom. Although her parents were busy they gave their best to be involved her their daughter's lives. When Azrealla was sixteen her sister, Gabriella, showed signs of having meta-powers when she accidentally shattered their room door after her father found out about her secret boyfriend. Azrealla quickly found her power soon after when a large splinter from the shattered door pierced her chest, shadows from all around attacked her sister with tendrils and began sapping her of vitality to heal herself. Their parents hadn’t seemed too surprised that they had the meta gene, almost like they knew beforehand but hoped against it. After that day her parents still treated them well but there was a hint of fear.
Azrealla had always dreamed about what she would do if she had powers, growing up she had admired the heroes like Superman and WonderWoman and the rest of the Justice League. Heroes like them seemed to be in another world, there were some street-level heroes around fighting gangs and drug dealers and they were cool but the Justice League were like gods, and now Azrealla had a way to become one of them.
Notes: After graduating high school instead of applying for college, Azrealla flew to Midway City after getting recruited by Titans Acadamy.Blood leaked onto the pavement and coated my hands, I would have been paralyzed with fear but knew if I gave into my terror the woman laying in front of me would not survive the night. It was supposed to be an average night of patrol with my new partner, another woman who wanted to be a hero; this was just a simple mugging, the guy had a knife to his victim. It was so simple to disarm him, my partner told me to hold back and snuck up to the guy and kicked the knife out of his hands then kicked him back stumbling a few feet backward before hitting the ground. I came out of the shadows and helped the victim to his feet and tried to push him out of the way. That’s when I heard the loud pop of the handgun go off twice before I saw my partner hit the ground. Through sear instinct a tindril whipped out from the shadows near the mugger and cracked him over the head crumpling him to the ground. I rushed over to my partner and tried to stop the blood from pouring out with my hands.
My partner looked up at me with fear in her eyes, “D-Don’t let me die here, please…I don’t want to die…” she whimpered.
“I won't! I…I can save you!” I replied in a panic.
My eyes shot over to the unconscious man and used my shadows to drag him closer, getting a better look at him he seemed young, probably my age. I gritted my teeth and began to drain the guy's life force and transfer it to my partner. I could feel the guy become weaker but my partner was still in dire condition, but if I pulled more from the mugger it would kill him.
“Shit!” I shout to myself.
My shadow retreated from the mugger and I began to use my own vitality, I felt my hands and feet start to tingle as if they were falling asleep, the feeling began to spread through my body and I begin to hear whispers. At first, the whispers were almost too quiet to hear but they quickly grew to a cacophony, almost deafening. Before the darkness on the edge of my sight overtook me, two bullets pushed out from the wounds on my partner and I could feel her breathing stabilize. I hadn’t realized I wasn’t breathing until my lungs began to burn and I inhaled for the first time since I began healing my partner. I sat back and continued to catch my breath, the feeling in my hands and face began to come back and the whispers quiet down but didn’t completely vanish.
My partner tried to move but grunted before settling back down, instead, she took a breath before speaking.
“You saved me. I would’ve died…”
She took a moment before she could gather her thoughts, “I don’t know what to say but thank you for saving my life,” she said trying to fight down tears.
“I’m just glad you’re alive,” I say wiping sweat from my brow.
Police sirens could be heard in the distance and getting closer, the guy they saved must have called 911 when he got to safety or maybe someone called after the gunshots.
“I don’t think I can move, Night.” She says.
“I don’t think I can carry you,” I reply.
“Just get out of here before the police come.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah, this is gonna be messy and I think I could use the hospital.”
I get to my feet using the wall to help me up, the feeling in my feet starts to come back, I envelop myself in shadow and began to lift off the ground before the woman speaks again.
“Night, I think I’m done”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” she says firmly.
Even though I only met her a month ago I felt like I just lost my best friend, I didn’t know her real name or how to find her so this was most likely the last time I’ll see her. With tears starting to burn my eyes I kick off the ground and fly away as the blue and red lights began to fill the little ally. This was the end for my partner, but this was only the beginning for me.

@Ravyn of Light Since you're new I'm just gonna give you some notes cause it's late and I should've been in bed for work 2 hours ago. Shadow based powers are cool, but the sheer amount of them for somebody who's supposed to be inexperienced and in an academy took me by surprise. And then there was the bit about additional powers. Many of them were overlaps of what's already been accepted, however there were a few you could do something with if you're willing to compromise. With the sample post, it's long enough and has dialogue but is it possible to get it from a 3rd person point of view? Most people on the site usually don't write from the 1st person perspective, unless maybe in the 1x1 section. It's kind of jarring to read mostly the same format when reading a few posts at a time and then get hit with something from another perspective.
@Bright_Ops When I saw 'Jester' I was hoping you were going for a remake of one of my favorite golden age D-Listers. Wasn't expecting the Ghost Rider vibes LOL. I just feel like Jester is the wrong alias for this guy. Warden of Hell sounded rad af. The 'Reckoning' power seems like it might be effected by the sins of various teammates' past while out fighting crime. Give him a different moniker and let's see a sample post. Suggestions for a name: Reckoner, Sin Eater, Shepherd, and Penance.
I get off work around 5 EST, that gives the two of you plenty of time to rework some areas if you're game. Thanks for the interest!

Malleable Physiology: The squishy bits of ME are capable of stretching, squishing and morphing into plant of general shape though anything complex is beyond his current capabilities.
Chemical Transmogrification: Objects coming into physical contact with Chemaxzord become putty in his living-putty hands. Like a gradual infection or radiation emitting from the physical touch of WE, the touched object’s chemical makeup can be slowly changed to WE’s will.
Mechanical host: The squishy bits that compose ME don’t have a skeleton and have trouble keeping together, let alone presentable on it’s own. Thanks to an ancient (and very much busted) Thangarian War-Droid that ME inhabits, keeping a more mobile form isn’t an issue and comes withe the boon of blocking blows from enemies and is pretty decent when lobbed at a foe.

Temperature: Too hot and Chemazord’s insides begin to lose it’s ability to stay together and the gooey bits begin to ooze and have trouble keeping together. Too cold and the walking philosopher’s stone slimey bits begin to become rigid and run the risk of breaking off.
Slimey, not Slime: While ME appears to be a very viscous slime, he is more like a giant amoeba with a thick skin covered in mucus. As such he can probably take a bit more punishment than a human but nothing is going to pass through him harmlessly.
No Skeleton, Yo Problem: ME is more than capable of living and moving while not riding his mechanical steed but he will be much slower and much less capable, needing to divert a fair amount of effort just to stay together. Since arriving on Earth he’s been working on limiting his reliance on his mechanical body but the machine is like a crutch to little Timmy.
-Appearance-
The slimey bits of Chemaxzord constantly move and shuffle, oozing across the surface of it’s droid body and the metal body beneath is much the same. The metal body always seems to be just barely kept standing at any given movement. Overall the alien, metal body and all fluctuates between standing at 5’6” and 6’1”.
-BRIEF Bio-
Somewhere out in the dark nothingness that is space a flowing sea of green orbits a red sun, pulsating and flowing in a manner that looks anything but natural. In truth this planet’s surface is composed of a single, eternally contemplative entity that seemed to be stuck gaining enrichment from whatever space tossed it’s way. One of it’s many play things turned out to be an ancient ship with it’s sole droid occupant, long brought offline even before crash landing into the eldritch-esque beast.
The slimey beast, known only to itself as WE, poked and prodded the machinery in an effort to learn about it and bring some fun into it’s life. Much like an infinite amount of chimps with type writers, eventually WE punched in just the right combination of buttons and levers to reboot the somehow still functional ship and accidentally launching it back into the inky blackness of space though it now towed a severed ‘limb’ of WE which had been torn off after the doors shut.
The ship flew, drifted and knocked through the cosmos for eight years with little to no changes to it’s innards aside from the very slow healing of the still living limb, it’s random spams of movements eventually taking on more purpose as the years past. Retaining it’s progenitor’s curiosity, the limb would reach out and prod randomly at it’s environment, eventually bonding somewhat to the husk of the ship’s previous occupant to better move around the ship and provide itself some grounding. It’s curiosity eventually turned to knowledge and the once out of control ship was reined in by it’s new master and 21 years after it’s second voyage to the stars it was once more grounded on the planet Earth, leaving the removed shared of WE stranded and interacting with other life-forms for the first time.

* Met the Flash after the Justice League was called to look into an alien infection. Said infection was the ME unintentionally turning his surroundings to metal in an attempt to replicate his now destroyed home-ship.
* ME REMOVED was the the first thought ME can remember thinking, hence the origin of his name.
-SAMPLE POST-
“NEXT.” The alien called, rippling it’s membrane to call out the word. Behind the counter of the deli section at the local grocery store stood a mechanical man sporting an apron, gloves and a blob of what looked like snot from someone with the flu. Like everyone before, the next customer crept forward skeptically as the last customer quickly rushed away with their cut of meat.
“Hi… could I get 2- 300 grams of black for-“ “300 GRAMS OF BLACK FOREST IS COMING SOON.” the alien interrupted, grabbing the slab of meat and heading towards the saw. With very little grace, the slab of meat was slammed onto the machine and the alien began cutting away as another customer approached the line, letting out a yelp of surprise as her eyes landed on the alien’s visage, triggering all the tense onlooker in line to jump.
“I WILL BE HELP YOU IN A MOMENT MADAM. PLEASE GET THE LINE MADAM.” ME called over, extending his head up in the hopes of getting his voice to travel a little farther. This act caused some to leave the line, the oddity of the situation being too much for them. Another disruption from the tense calm came when the word ‘shoplifter’ was yelled across the store.
“ARE NOT ALL YOU SHOP LIFTER? WHY WITH EXCLAMATION DO THEY CALL?” ME asked the customers as he continued to sloppily slice.
“No. We’re not shop lifters.” the customer at the counter said defensively “a shoplifter is someone who steals and-“ “STEALS IS THIEVERY IS CRIMINAL! WE CLOSED FOR MOMENTS AND BEYOND. ME BE BACK IN LICKITY SPLIT.” ME called, leaving the meat on the slicer and clumsily vaulting (tossing) his body over (across) the counter and running for the front of the store. The customers were left mostly stunned but relived that the alien was gone. From somewhere further in the store’s attached deli, a normal looking human poked his head out with a bewildered look.
“Where’d the temp go?”
