The Luxun Council

The Auric Lineage or in their ancient tongue [The Or] are the noble families in Luxu that govern over the western regions of Tempestua and some small provinces in the others. While they are born blonde or with that stereotypical fiery hair that many have, with age their hair loses its color until it is a stark white with the only traces of their original color left in their roots. At festivals or during their councils they're often dressed in vibrant white and gold wardrobes too garish for even lesser nobles to afford, when out on the battlefield they instead take on a more striking black and red coloration with the emblem of their sun god sewn or embroidered onto it somewhere to mark themselves. The Mage Knights handpicked from the farmsteads or smaller cities of Tempestua often wear the same or similar armor, this is primarily due to their leader Ruxin Auric, being a nephew of the king. If any of these individuals show up at your town, village, or even local tavern, there is most likely a terrible reason for that. Hunting down Whimsy practicing their primitive and unruly eld magics has been the recent objective of the Mage Knights but that is usually handled by croups specifically tailored to hunting those individuals down. The daily tasks for the majority of these Luxun militants is patrolling the western border and routes throughout the other territories to police the land for rogue mages or criminals that fall under their radar. On their home turf the Mage Knights are seen as noble heroes set in place to maintain their safety, credit from outside accomplishments is often given to them and countless fabricated stories of them wiping out the dragons and giants are spread to keep them comfortably on that pedestal among their own populace. The young Auric noble Secilia has just recently begun to make a name for herself. The Mage King Breza had planned to wed his youngest daughter to one of the noble Kala fledglings and during her stay there, she was able to snuff out a plot from one of the crime families that would have the young nobleman murdered. For her contributions to the South, Secilia was given an estate and governance over the small port town of Scrimshaw. There she has been able to seamlessly integrate herself into the Kala underground, finding herself with a lot of responsibilities that involve black market dealings with the southern nobles and even a hand in slave trade. Nobles in the East hate her, with some even placing bounties on her head in secret; the West see her as a rising scion likely to be someone of importance in the years to come. The North see her a corpse just waiting to be put in the earth. | █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ |

The Dwarvish Rebellion

We call them The Eld, but before the mages came to this land they had many names. The elves were the children of the trees, the fae the children of the elements, and the giants the children of the earth. The dwarves were the youngest of the Eld, historical texts claim that they were once creations of the giants. The giants in their dwindling numbers wished to have descendants to pass their culture down to, inheritors of the art of stoneshaping. Whether those legends are true or not, we will never know, but the stoneblooded dwarves learned all they know from the giants. Their magic is simple in its manifestation but with each year of practice till mastery they are more and more proficient at turning the rigid land into intricate inventions that would make their giant patrons proud. The dwarves have pride in their labors, and even more so in their people which is precisely why the foreign mages are their most detested enemy. The dwarves have been in a constant battle with the Mage King and his men since Alder arrived on Tempestua, and with every loss they come back swinging harder. Their stone cold resolve of reclaiming the mountains and occupied homeland burns in even the most broken and docile of their kind. Their armies might be broken, but the dwarvish rebellion remains in their hearts and could never be snuffed out. There are rumors that another army is gathering in secret; whether these meetings are happening in the North or East, maybe both? The Luxun Council have heard the rumors, so the mage knights have been on the hunt for any starry eyed dwarves with hope for freedom. More pressure have been placed on Haldr to restrict the movement of large groups of dwarves leaving to enter neighboring territories. But what the King doesn't know can't hurt him. A dwarf revolutionary that was seen as a hero during the last war, Sabi the Ruddy Blade, secretly plots with Kurt Fenris and Lanz Haldr to stoke the flames of dwarf revolution once again. On the northeastern borders in the mines shared by these two nobles, dwarves secretly forge armaments in preparation for a conflict just on the horizon. While their marvelous crafts and masterworks are sold to the West, dwarvish steel and blast iron is being prepared to spill mageblood in the name of freedom. All parties involved know that its only a matter of time before the western forces learn of their movements, but once the fuse is lit that bomb is just waiting to go off. | █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ |
